Description

Daishens 6', and weighs 160 pounds. He's muscled, but incredibly trim, giving him a small stature. His face is smooth, has a lot of angles, and is slightly pale. He has long black hair, coming down to his shoulders, his bangs reaching to his chin, though he keeps it pushed out of his face. He has very light blue eyes, almost grey in certain lights. His left ear has a small silver hoop piercing through the top of the cartlidge, and when bored he ofren fiddles with it.

He wears a very loose, overlarge, tan shirt, with a low neck revealing part of his chest. Its sleeves are long, reaching down past his hands, but he keeps it pushed up to his elbows. His pants are also very loose and tan, seeming to flow with his body. At his waist he has a very thin leather belt that holds small coinpurses and what-not. Over his front and back he wears another thin leather belt, askew over his body. Its attached to a thin, long satchel of water on his back.

His shoes are padded black leather.

Personality

Daishen is always calm, speaking in a cool, refreshing voice. He never expresses emotion other then a clam confidence. His face is always blank, and his posture is strict, straight backed and arms clasped behind his back.

Equipment

Daishen holds a medium sized satchel on his back filled with water, with an ice cork that never seems to melt. At any given time he can access the water using his bending.

He's a water bender of exceptional talent, though he rarely uses it. His icebending in particular is a powerful force to be reckoned with, and he tends to form ice shurikens as his favorite attack.

He shows no ability to heal, nor has he attempted to bloodbend ever.

History

Daishen was born in an Earth Kingdom city, after his mother fled the Swamplands where she was born and raised. For the first 6 years of his life, Daishen and his mother lived happily together.. until the day came when he showed the capacity for water bending. He and his mother rejoiced, but the townsfolk he had grown up with didn't want a bender in town, as they believed this might provoke hostilities in the newfound peace.

Daishen and his mother were outcast, so they resolved to live together as nomads, as they felt they only needed each other. Over the next 3 years Daishens ability to waterbend continued to grow. One day, nearing his 10th birthday, his mother collapsed during a training session. Fearing for her safety, Daishen ran to get help. He ran into a small village, with no alliegance to any nation, and he begged for aid. No one would, because he was a simple urchin with no money. Crying for his mother, he ran back to her, and found her condition had taken a drastic turn for the worst. Over the next several hours he held her hand, crying as she faded away. With her dying breath she bestowed upon him her wish that he live a happy life, filled with love and laughter.

The next 4 years of his life are a blur to him. It involved becoming a pickpocket, and a street orphan with no home or family. On his 14th birthday, Daishen met a powerful water bender at an underground bending brawl for money. Daishen was totally defeated by this man, and he vowed that he would be his teacher. For a full year he pestered the man, begging and pleading to become his disciple. The man turned him away every time, refusing to even allow him to enter his home. After the year passed, he grew sick of waiting. He charged into the mans house, and he attacked the man. Once again he was crushed, though this time the man stood over Daishen and said, "A true water bender never rises his arm in anger. He must be in balance with himself, then those around you. Come back when you fully understand the meaning of these words."

Daishen was humbled, and embaressed. He left and went into constant and daily meditation for a year. After which his nameless master finally accepted him, and shaped him into who he is today at the age of 17.
