Koyomi
Koyomi sighed as she looked off the side of the roof of her apartment. "Not again." She muttered, chuckling to herself and sitting down, her legs hung off of the edge of the building. She laughed, "I'm being so stupid." Koyomi's brown eyes looked over the city, and she closed them, letting the air rustle her long brown hair, and she laid back, kicking her legs around in the air.
"This happens too much." Koyomi sat up suddenly and she turned to see the manager of the apartment building leaning against the doorway where the stairs were that lead to the roof. "Come on, hun." She said nodding to the stairs.
She stood up and walked over and joined the manager. The woman lead her down to the lobby and handed her a cup of coffee. Koyomi thanked her and walked out of the building and sat down on a bench outside, and sipped her coffee thinking.
"No." She muttered, "stop thinking, it makes you feel worse." She took a long drink and threw the cup away, then walked back inside.
"Back already?" The woman, Marlaina, said, raising her eyebrow slightly.
"Yup." She answered, walking past her and going into the elevator. She smiled at Marlaina and then the door closed. She backed up into the corner and sank onto the ground, this time, Koyomi couldn't stop the tears.

Westly sighed as he flopped down on his bed. It was the middle of the day and he was already exhausted. Although, he had been up since one that morning serving coffee to stressed early morning drivers. He was the odd hour worker for the coffee shop. He just came in when he was needed, and was paid by the hour. He rubbed his blue eyes with his wrist as he stared up at the blank nondescript ceiling of his apartment. He'd gotten out right as soon as he had finished high school, leaving the mom that had never really wanted him and his step-father who saw him as a reminder of his wife's failure. He didn't really get on well with his family.

The dark haired boy with his pale tired face slowly started to drift off to sleep, but jerked himself out of it by sitting up swiftly, making his head spin. No, he couldn't go to sleep now. He had to keep normal sleep cycles. He needed something else to do to keep him from falling asleep. Maybe he should call Koyomi? He'd worried about her quite a bit lately. She seemed off. Strained. Unwell. Sad? More sad than usual. Westly had to fight himself to keep from just wrapping his arms around her and holding her until everything was okay again, but he knew she needed him more as a friend than as a lover. Even though he loved her. So much. Yes, that is what he'd do. Or maybe he could go visit her, bring her one of the books he'd recently finished and thought she might like. But he'd call her first.

He rooted around in his pocket for his phone, and old clunky piece of metal and wires that had to be at least ten years old. He dialed Koyomi's number, his phone didn't have speed-dial capabilities, and held it to his ear, listening to it ring. Would she pick up? Hopefully she would.

Koyomi looked at her phone, it must have slipped out of her pocket when she sat down. Her tears had blurred her vision, but she could make out the large letters one the screen of it. If it had been anyone else, she would've let it ring, but she picked it up. She sniffled and wiped a tear out of her eye before speaking.
"Hey Westley, what's up?" She asked, her voice sounded normal, she'd had enough practice with faking emotions, it wasn't hard to hide the sadness in her voice.
Koyomi's eyes looked around the elevator, wondering what it would feel like if the walls were to just...collapse on her. Would it hurt, she didn't care, it would feel a whole lot better than how she felt now, like an invisible hand was squeezing her heart, wringing it out like a wet rag.
She took a deep breath and muttered into the phone quickly, "Westley, can you just come over now? I need a hug." And then she hung up. Westley was the only one she really trusted, he was the only one who she knew of that knew her secret and still didn't mind being around her, she just needed his company right now.
She felt so selfish, though. Koyomi needed Westley, but so did other people, too, what if he was with someone important? If she knew him, he'd come for her no matter what, she couldn't make him suffer for her. Koyomi looked down at her phone, trying to decide what to do, she squeezed it in her hand so tightly that it hurt, and then dropped it on the ground. Sorry Westley, but I need you now.

Aimi stared into the mirror. She felt disgusted, how could anyone be so ugly? She thought. She walked out of her bathroom over to the window, and opened it. A small breeze brushed her face, she sighed and looked at the rose bush beneath her. Why couldn't she be like a rose? Perfect and beautifu she felt a jealously towards the rose. The rose could sit there without a care in the world, while she went around trying to impress people. She had always thought that being popular would make her happier, but it wasn't anymore. She still felt sad and alone. She thought of Westly, and how he loved Koyomi, and she was to oblivious to see it. All Koyomi cared about was herself, and some random boy who followed her around. She sat down on her bed, it was so unfair, she felt. What she would give to be Koyomi.

Westly smiled when he heard Koyomi's voice on the other end of the line, but it was gone by the time she hung up. She didn't sound too good. Westly had long learned that Koyomi was a very skilled girl, she could lie through her teeth when it came to emotions, and Westly had to trod carefully and look out for the tell tale signs. He stood up, all thoughts of sleeping gone, and stuffed a couple of essentials for a major cheering up into a bag. Then he made his way swiftly down the stairs and out the large doors of the apartment complex, and walked over to Koyomi's complex. When he got there he jabbed the up button on the elevator. Where would she be? ON the roof, in her apartment or somewhere else? Westly didn't know. But he'd find her. He knew that.

Koyomi wiped the tears out of her eyes and put on a strong face, standing up slowly when she heard the elevator ding and the door start to open. She slowly reached down, and grabbed her phone stuffing it in her pocket. When she saw Westly was the one there, she flung her arms around him and pulled him into the elevator, hiccuping into his shoulder but refusing to cry.
The door opened on her floor and she stepped out, "stay here, I need to put my phone on the charger and then I'll be back." Koyomi ordered, before jogging over to her apartment and walking inside. She found the charger still plugged into the outlet next to her bed, and connected her phone to it. She waited for the green battery to appear on the screen signifying that it was charging before she dropped it on the side table, grabbed her wallet, and ran back out to Westly in the elevator. She pressed the button that would take them back to the lobby, and then stepped out. Koyomi grabbed his wrist and pulled him out of the hotel.
She heard Marlaina call her and she looked back at the manager who winked at her, "have fun you too." She said giggling, and then turning her attention back to some paperwork. Koyomi snickered and continued pulling Westly along until they reached the street. "Where do you want to go?" She asked, looking around, she spotted a fancier resturaunt and pointed to it, "how about lunch? My treat." She knew that she wasn't exactly dressed for the resturaunt wearing faded and torn blue jeans and a tee shirt advertising various mental hospitals in the country (that she had bought at a yard sale), but she didn't really care.
She turned to him, "unless you want to do something else."

Westly sighed as he stood in the elevator by himself, foot out to keep the door from sliding shut. Poor Koyomi, she seemed so stressed out. BUt Westly had to admit, he'd enjoyed the hug. It felt nice to have Koyomi trust him so. When she came dashing back Westly examined her face, but he couldn't see past what was obvious. He couldn't see what was wrong with her. Why she needed him to come over and comfort her. It was all rather confusing. Girls were confusing anyway, and this didn't help it all that much.
The dark haired young man allowed Koyomi to drag him along, out to the street. She pointed to a restaurant and Westly examined it. "Sure. If you want to go there it is fine with me." he said with a nod of his head. "But on one condition. You let me pay half, at least. You and I both know that that place is too expensive for you to pay for by yourself." he was gentle with his words, knowing that there was a high probability that Koyomi would argue with him. He scratched the back of his neck, looking down at his clothes. They would do, it was what he'd worn to work, black pants and a white tee shirt. But Koyomi was wearing her mental hospital shirt.

Was it the best idea to go in like that? probably not, but if she wanted to, who was Westly to argue. She needed his support right now, not his criticism.
