A French assassin, who will happily work for both sides as long as he's paid.
To most people, Valiant will seem like a kind and outgoing man, fond of chatting simply to enjoy the company of other people. However, his frends have discovered a different side to him, which is hard to ignore when you first see it. Though not exceptionally, Valiant is quite the intelligent man, and is likely to turn the conversation in his direction and play with words in order to make you spill the beans. He knows his way around words, but always remains careful when in the vicinity of people he knows to be more intelligent than himself. Either way, he's really a cosy chap to keep conversation with, though some people find his accent irritating even though it's beginning to fade.
Like anyone who's used to working with hotshot small-time criminals, Valiant finds himself patient in many situations but intolerant towards incompetence from his co-workers, though he appreciates the more intelligent and the more knowledgeable, he can't stand know-it-all's, and the border between them are unnervingly thin. He isn't the type to scream or use violence as he loses his temper, however, and much prefers to make snappy, humoured, comments concerning the other one. This is even taken as simple sarcasm and a joke at most times, which is why he seldom gets into trouble for it.
More than anything else, Valiant would tell you that he values his life. He's gone to a great lot of trouble to keep it, and claims that he's not about to just give it up unless there's a damned good reason why he should. He still considers himself a player of both sides of "the war", and if someone offers the man a greater deal, there's a very good chance he'll take it without even blinking.
So, in conclusion; he is a calm and outgoing man, slightly sarcastic in his humour and not someone you put your lives in the hands of.
Valiant always buys the equipment he needs before the mission, and hardly ever keeps it afterwards. He does, however, keep a gun and a couple of knives hidden on his person, just in case.
He grew up in France along with his mother, who told him when asked that his father was in a better place. At the age of 11 he was able to meet with his father for the first time after weeks of getting on his mother's nerves, and was led to the local Asylum for their first and only meeting. The shock of understanding what sort of man Mr TerrettΓ© was gave Valiant quite the impression, especially as the man threw himself over the table in an attempt to strangle his poor, terrified, son. After this, the mother decided she would have none of this nonsense any longer, and took a 12-year-old Valiant with her to America in order to start a new life there.
However, a young French boy is bound to be held down by his accent, and Valiant found himself being picked on from the moment he peeked his head outside the door of his American household. Valiant was very afflicted by this, and had already turned into a teenage criminal by the age of 16. Spending his time doing small robberies with minor gangs and similar, he found himself having a knack for the murder division during a robbery that went slightly wrong. This was picked up by the gang's leader, who then started hiring him for the more messy jobs of a growing syndicate. This continued until he was around twenty years old, when the delusional mind of the self-proclaimed Don slowly began leading towards the downfall of his organisation. This was unacceptable for Valiant, who left and decided to start up by himself. As the gang fell, Valiant practically, though not literally, rose from the shadows and these days he makes a good penny getting hired to do certain jobs for those who are willing to pay the right price.
