History

Mei Long is part of a small upper class group of warriors known as onna bugeisha (or 'female samurai). While most women of her class did not actually fight battles, Mei insisted on being included equally to men. She was never fully accepted into her class by other women because her parents were of Chinese descent. After refusing to be married and fleeing her nation and parent nation, she stowed on merchant caravans traveling over the Silk Road trade routes. They took her far west, where she is constantly searching for adventure, work, and life lessons.
