Hey folks,
So Moniker and myself got our heads together to come up with an RP last night and this baby was born from the fire and ashes of those two heads banging into each other.
I read a book years back called "Frontier Wolves" and I want to base this RP off of it. Essentially it is about the Roman withdrawal from Britain beginning with their outposts in Pictland (Scotland) back towards Hadrians wall. The idea is for players to be either with the Picts (Who will be GMed by Moniker) or with the Romans (GMed by myself).
The Rp will follow the Roman withdrawal from the territories north of the wall. It will not be an easy go, the Roman's historically got back stabbed by their local allies and a lot of them died for it. It is the Roman's challenge to even make their escape to the wall, and the Picts challenge to try and wipe them out.
There are no Elves or Dwarves, none of that though we are leaving a small element open for the idea of the creatures from the old legends in Scotland to actually exist.

What chances would there be for interaction? Would characters from opposing sides be able to get to know each other?

Mythical creatures would not be playable but I'll get Moniker to give you a list of those.
As for interaction between factions... Your trying to kill each other. The first part will be the beginning of the trouble. Romans and Picts will be dis-trustful but tolerant, that will all collapse during the first bit of the RP when the withdrawal begins.

Given that the Romans a) used Gaulish mercenaries and b) absorbed the Gauls into their ranks at points, would there be a chance for a Gallic character?
