Once Upon A Time In A Land Far Away.... is a load of crap. Fairytales are for three year old girls that want to grow up to be princesses and have ten ponies and live in a palace. Imagine actually having this. In modern day Britain, five princesses and five princes are engaged to be married. All of their fathers or mothers are in line to the throne in some way, and these marriages have been set up so that their children can be ready for the life that Royalty brings.

However, these are your typical forlorn princesses or knight in shining armor princes. The women are hopeless romantics, and then men are more party hard than working hard. Modern day love does have it's complications, and there are quite a few twists in this seemingly perfect idea of arranged marriages.

Zander is fun-going, life-loving man who appreciates the fact that he was lucky to be born into royalty, but wouldn't be ruined if it was suddenly taken away from him. He has a smart sense of humor and a quick wit which the people appreciate and have learned to love him for. He doesn't like being waited on hand and foot, which often gets him into trouble when he attempts to dress himself or make his own meals. He also doesn't like arranged marriages, however, he is deeply in love with Elena and believes that he is blessed to have been matched so well. He lives by a life motto that everything happens for a reason, regardless of the situation, and that everything is based on fate and that there is a master plan for everyone, everywhere. Because of this, Zander is seldom upset because anything negative that occurs he twists into something positive, sticking with the belief that it is for the better and the reason for this bad occurrence will make itself known later on in life.
Likes:
Being an outdoors kind of guy, Zander likes going on early morning jogs and hiking. He appreciates humor and loves telling jokes as well as telling stories and writing. He also draws and paints, even though he isn't the most talented artist. Zander's biggest enjoyment is throwing grand parties and inviting anyone and everyone over for drinks and some sort of activity.
Dislikes:
Zander absolutely can't stand liars. He believes that he can be told the truth about anything and should be. He strongly dislikes those who can't earn whatever they want honestly, therefore he doesn't like cheaters and thieves. Zander doesn't like getting the 'royal treatment', as in not even being able to dress himself. He doesn't like being bowed to. He also doesn't like arranged marriages. He believes that everyone is entitled to choose who they are going to spend the rest of their life with.
Phobias?:
Heights is the one and only thing that brings Zander to his knees. Even climbing up into a tree makes him light headed.
History:
Seemingly rather intelligent at a very young age, Zander was reading, walking, and speaking years before other children his own age. This caused his mother and father to begin getting high hopes and even higher expectations for their son. As the years went on, Zander developed a lazy habit due to everything being handed to him rather then him having to work for it. As a pre-teen, Zander figured that he was a prince and that no matter what he did or how he did it, he was still going to be rich and people would have to listen to his word, as it would be law. Late in his teenage years, Zander realized that there was a chance that he wouldn't be king due to there being other families of royal blood and that he needed to snap out of his lifestyle of the rich and famous. He suddenly turned his life around, greatly surprising his parents who had lost all hope for him. His personality improved as well, having been a nasty little boy. He attempted to reconcile by doing things on his own like making his own meals or dressing himself. Servants had no idea what to do since they didn't want to suddenly lose their jobs, so they contested Zander's new lifestyle. This helped Zander to develop a sense of humor so he would joke with the servants, running around his bedroom being chased by a servant trying desperately to dress him or he would make breakfast for himself and his cook, so when the cook came to make breakfast, a meal was already waiting. As the years continued to pass, Zander's servants grew used to his new attitude and would find other tasks around the manor to occupy their time rather then trying to fight with him. Due to his new and improving life, he became good friends with Reynald and started spending more time with him, just as something to do throughout the day. When Zander was introduced to Elena, Zander declared that being born into a royal family wasn't the best thing that ever happened to him, even though it helped. He almost immediately fell in love with his bride-to-be and was ecstatic that, even though it was arranged, that she was such a match for him. Zander's attitude and lifestyle skyrocketed into the positive and he became a loving and almost carefree person, wandering the streets dancing and laughing about nothing. The citizens were, at first, concerned that he had lost his mind, but they soon grew to accept the new prince and enjoyed seeing him out and about like a normal person, even though normal people don't usually dance and laugh in the streets by themselves.

Personality: Mimi's a naturally quiet girl, being one to sit back and observe rather than act. It takes a lot to get her to speak her mind, especially if there's more than a couple of people watching, although she will open up to Prince D, who she cares a lot for. Because of her quietness, Mimi's also quite laid-back; it does take a lot to get her angry. However, if you wanted to do so, unnecessary nastiness or arrogance can really get her back up and she might just snap your head off if you get too much. Other than that though, she's genuinely kind and caring, but can be perceived as slightly cold in her silence. You just have to get to know her, earn her trust, which isn't easy, and I'm sure she'll open up to you. She's definately a strong character; not being one for weakness and lot's of emotions.

History: Obviously, Miriam was born into a wealthy family, her parents being full of society, etiquette and all that palava. From a young age, she was taught of all the proper manners that she would need in order to fill her role as princess and act as a proper daughter should. She was brought up as more of a robot than a child, hence why her personality's so quiet now. She was often scolded for doing things wrong, her parents or her nurses never failing to correct her constantly, making Mimi quite unsure of herself and lacking a little in confidence. The young brunette was tutored at home and kept away from other normal children her age, being forced to socialise with other members of royal families.

Alongside her normal studies, Miriam was taught how to play the piano, a skill, which she has now mastered along with how to hold a tea cup correctly and use the right knives and forks. She also found, in high school, that she had a flare for art, which was quickly stamped out by her mother and father. Young ladies should not get their hands dirty. So, Mimi threw herself into her music, trying to get away from the fact that her parents really didn't seem to care all that much about her.

However, when she reached the age of 17, Mimi found herself in her first intimate relationship with an ordinary boy from college. Of course, her parents disapproved and ordered her to finish it, but she refused and carried on seeing the boy. It was the first time she'd stood up to her parents and although they made her life a misery until she did as they wished, the next couple of months really made Miriam as a person. Her personality formed and that silent strength revealed itself, making her feel better for it in the long run. In the next couple of years, Miriam was taught how to ride horses and eventually aquired an animal of her own. Neytiri (Pronounced Ne-tear-ee) has been with Mimi for a couple of years now and they spend a lot of time together, especially if something's bothering the princess. Also, she married Zeke, who she met when she was nine due to one of her parents' parties. She loves being with him, probably because he's her complete opposite and opposites attract right? Although, they never got their parent's consent so now they're being 'ordered' to divorce so that they can marry their betrothed. Although she likes Prince B - as a friend - she doesn't want to marry him.

Elena is a sweet girl, kind and charming, a perfect lady in front of her parents. She's a good host, and just a perfect princess. Her attitude changes, and when she's alone with someone that she trusts, she'll blurt out how she really feels about everything. Her life is boring, and she doesn't get to do much at all. Her day is usually set to a schedule; wake up at the same times ever day, studying at the same time every day, meals at the same time every day, horse riding at the same time every day and then maybe some free time. History:
Princess Elena Noelle Falkland was born on the nineteenth of August, to Richard and Clarissa Falkland. She was their only child, as after her birth her parents found out that Clarissa could bear no more children. Despite the fact that they were heartbroken not to have any more children, it just meant that more and more attention was given to their daughter. Everything seemed to fall into her hands, money, clothes, toys, gadgets and make-up as she grew older, and as a young child, she adored being a princess. She would run around the acres of land that her family owned, playing with the servants or her friends and she also loved to ride around on her pure white horse, Eros.

As she grew older, she began to turn a little more sour against her crown, and she didn't accept some of the expensive presents from her parents any more. This wasn't the life that she wanted, as she just wanted to be a normal person.The only thing that never changed about her was her dedication to Eros, and how she would clean him out herself and ride him every day around the grassland. Then, she met Reynald and everything changed. Elena had just turned nineteen when she met the love of her life at a ball her parents were holding. A song came on that was one where a male chooses a female that he didn't come to the ball with to dance with him. Fate must have loved her, because Reynald chose her. Soon, they were waltzing around the dance floor, their eyes locked as if they were meant for each other. After that night, their relationship progressed. They met secretly at either her home or her's, spending as much time together as they could, just relaxing on the couch or eating dinner together. It was love, and they were happy. About a year into the relationship, they began to speak about marriage, and how much they would both enjoy being together.

However, then came the news that she was engaged to be married to another wealthy prince, named Zander Durst, and he was to wed a different female too. She did not know at the time that both Reynald and Zander were best friend, but when this fact came out, Elena felt terrible. She met her betrothed as she was told to do, after much persuasion from her father. She had tried to wriggle out of this marriage, telling her father that she didn't want to marry someone that she didn't love, but he still forced her to do so. She could see that Zander liked her as soon as they met, which just made it more hard on both herself, and Reynald. Soon, she had to split her time equally between the both of them, getting to know her future husband, and then relaxing with the man she loved. It became a difficult thing to do, but she soon go into the hang of it.

Personality:
Elizabeth is a quiet and obeying girl. She doesn't have much will and gets tired easily. She is caring underneath, but her rude, cold, and straightforward way of talking make people understand her intentions and feelings. This caused her to be alone, although some do try to understand her and stay by her side. Because of this, she can be known as a "lone wolf". On the outside, she seems like an emotionless, uncaring girl who doesn't smile. There always seems to be a lonely look in her eyes, though no one ever bothered to notice or look. She had always watched the world and time go by on the sidelines, never quite taking part. People pass her by as if she wasn't there and no one ever quite noticed her. When she talks, she talks in a confusing way. It is hard to understand what she says. Many have described her as weird because of the strange words that come out of her mouth. Few understand her and no one could really tell what Elizabeth is thinking or feeling. She doesn't quite have an opinion. She wasn't always like this, according to the maids in her home. Because Elizabeth had amnesia at age 12, her past is quite a mystery. The maids from before she was 12 had all disappeared except for one. This maid wouldn't tell Elizabeth about her past and doesn't know much either. Since this maid was going grocery shopping at that time. However, this maid did find Elizabeth's mother's journal, though many pages were torn out or burnt. Most edges were burnt indicating there was fire. This maid won't tell Elizabeth everything, but she did tell her a few things from time to time. Now, here are some excerpts of Elizabeth's mother's diary...

November 14th

I finally got a new journal! Milly's journal. My husband, Henry gave it to me. These days, I'm so bored, so I'm glad I can write in a journal again. The doctor told me to stay in the hospital for the next few months until my baby comes, but it's so boring. There isn't anything to do but stare outside the window. But during the night, I sometimes secretly go outside to view the stars. After all, I want fresh air and staying in a small hospital room is just stuffy and boring. Though the doctors are starting to suspect things.

February 29th

Today, I gave birth to my baby girl. I named her Elizabeth. It's a lovely name. Henry even said that that was one of the best names he ever heard! I'm filled with joy. However, I'm still worried about the robbers and such. Just a few days ago, one almost broke in! Henry told me not to worry about it. He's right, I shouldn't. I have to worry about my baby girl right now. Show my baby my love. But another thing worries me, Elizabeth seems to be born weak. I'm worried if she would last. Anyway, I decided to take care of her the best I can.

June 19th

It has been so fun. Elizabeth always seems to have her nose in something. Though she can be quite a bit of trouble. Still, Elizabeth is still weak and the doctor said that she should rest more. She is already 4 years old, she should be stronger now. I hope she can grow into a beautiful, healthy young lady. I hope she can be happy. Though I worry about her safety, I feel trouble coming. My sixth sense is telling me this. Please let our family be safe and happy. Henry told me not to worry. He's worried about me. I don't want him to be worried. He has enough on his mind than worry about me.

December 31st

Something is really odd. Really odd. Henry had said he went on a trip that would only take a week or so, but it has already been a month! Just what is happening? Elizabeth is starting to wonder where her papa is, but how am I suppose to tell her that I don't know? Elizabeth is now a smart kid and I fear she will find out that Henry is taking longer than he should. I can only tell her that he will come back soon. I believe in it. Otherwise, how is our family going to survive? The maids in the house are already starting to suspect something. Plus, I feel that Henry ran into trouble. Big trouble.

April 2nd

NOOOOOOO!!! This can't be true! Please tell me it isn't true! Henry died? No way! How can that be? People came to my house today telling me Henry was in a plane accident. How? How can a life be so quickly shortened? How can I tell Elizabeth? How? Elizabeth needs a father. She is still young, too young. Only 7 years old. How can i tell her? Oh please. I'll just tell her that Henry isn't coming back home anymore. Elizabeth is too young to understand the meaning of death. Something tells me that the way Henry died was not an accident. I feel someone murdered him.

January 27th

Now I'm positive Henry was murdered. I researched and asked around. He was murdered. By some kind of organization too. I went through quite a bit of risk and danger, but now I know the truth behind Henry's death. Still, I can't tell young Lizzy. Oh, did I tell you that I call Elizabeth Lizzy now? Liz too, sometimes. Anyway, back to the point. Right now, we are in danger. This organization would probably target us next. I don't know their intentions, but I know we aren't safe anymore. Oh dear, God help me! Elizabeth is still confused, but at least she is doing fine. Still, she has a weak body. I can't move to a different house at this rate.

March 22nd

Today is my birthday, and the day Henry died. It was fun celebrating with Elizabeth, but I was depressed. I don't like to admit it, but I'm starting to get depressed and gloomy all the time. I can't help it. Elizabeth, I want her to have a happy life, but why can't she live a normal life? Normal is better. Oh dear, someone is at the door... That was odd. A package from an unknown sender. I wonder what is in it. No matter. I'll find out eventually. Oh no!Okay, came back. Getting interrupted often today. Elizabeth just tore the package apart, but I got it. The package was empty. Quite strange don't you think?

February 28th

Today, we celebrated Elizabeth's birthday. After all, her birthday only comes once every four years, so I though about celebrating it today. Elizabeth is finally 12! Time passed so fast. She's a young lady now. Though her body is still weaker than normal people, it should be fine. We are safe. No, are we? If anyone should ever find this journal, it would mean I have died. Murdered by the organization. The organization doesn't even have a name, or at least that is what I think. Anyway, I don't know what they want with us, but------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HELP!!!

These were some of the excerpts of the Milly's journal. When Milly died and the maid from grocery shopping came back, she couldn't believe their mansion. It was on fire. The maid had found Elizabeth sitting on the windowsill frightened. And before the maid sould do anything, Elizabeth jumped. She jumped from the third floor which is where her bedroom was. It was a miracle that Elizabeth only suffered minor injuries and was able to live, but she lost all her memories. Elizabeth was taken to the hospital and was asked many things, but after she recovered, the maid took her and moved to a different mansion. No one could believe that a princess's father and mother died. People suspect it was murder, but life went on. Elizabeth changed. Luckily, they were able to recover some things from the mansion like clothes, money, and etc. This maid is like Elizabeth's second mother. Elizabeth was able to keep on living as normal though she changed drastically. Other families that were royals supported her. The left over money from her parents were able to last her entire life. She was still a bit weak, but it seemed the incident had helped made her stronger. However, people seeing Elizabeth's parents died, they pitied her and gave her sympathy. Elizabeth hated that and decided to grow distant with people and closed her heart. Soon she met her best friend, [Princess A]. She started to open her heart again. She likes playing the piano now. It is a way to express her emotions.

Personality: Reynald is a responsible, trustworthy, giving, reliable young man. He works hard to earn his own money rather than live off of his parents and is always reluctant to accept help with something he can handle on his own. He’s keen to learn new things and make his own way rather than stick to someone else’s routine. He’s quite a free spirited individual who looks out for himself, his friends and his two younger brothers and he manages a healthy professional and social life with a balance of hard work and relaxation. He rarely watches TV, preferring to do something constructive or go out with friends, unless he’s with Elena, in which case he’s more than happy to just sit and do nothing as long as it’s with her. He was particularly interested in hands on work like repairing cars (which he later developed quite a love for) and woodwork. As he grew older he became more and more independent and, on occasion, could be quite arrogant and self righteous. He did not enjoy having his parents, or anyone else for that matter, meddling in his affairs at college or university as he got on just fine on his own and preferred to do things his way. It wasn’t until he met Elena that he ever stopped doing everything his own way. After falling in love with her shortly after meeting her at a dance at her parents home, suddenly he wasn’t the only person he had to tend to. She became his life and if doing a few things her way made her happy, that’s what he was going to do. Reynald had his own place where he and Elena could meet up and spend time together and it wasn’t difficult to hang out in her parents home without them knowing about it. He wasn’t sure what caused him to ask her to dance that night, but he was happy ever since until he heard the news about this arranged marriage business…

No matter how he tried, Reynald could not get his parents to change their minds. He had no say in the matter. His “doing things his own way” attitude only made this harder to deal with when he found out his parents would be organising absolutely everything. He doesn’t really know the woman he was to be married to and he loves Elena more than anyone or anything in the world. She was the one he wanted to marry so, naturally, shortly after hearing the news and being told he couldn’t change his parents minds, he told them exactly what he thought of their idea and where they could shove it and has been on very bad terms with them ever since.
