Nicolette didn't care the motive behind his actions. The fact that he was finally taking initiative in their relationship released her supressed hope for them. She smiled gently and took his hand as they headed out to the dance floor. His hand had fallen to her waist- warm fuzzies shooting through her spine along with a shot of adrenaline. If she wanted to, she could dance all night. She knew nothing of what was really going on, nor how things were going to progress from that moment, but she didn't care. Her entire soul was engulfed in this moment, and she wasn't going to give any of that up. It was true, ignorance really was bliss.

At the incoming compliment, Nicole couldn't hold back a blush; her face becoming almost as vibrant as her dress. She didn't expect that from her best friend, usually they'd end up making fun of each other more than actually spreading the lovey-dovey dialogue that was average of most couples. "You don't look too bad yourself, Jare." What happened that made him into more of a boyfriend than a best friend? They used to joke around all the time, and now it was all complimentary. Nicolette actually enjoyed it, but it took a bit of work to get used to.

She moved her feet gracefully across the marble floors, the other couples around them seeming to be as absorbed as they were. "So... how's life been since I last talked to you? It's been almost 24 hours! I'm suffering from separation anxiety," She joked, letting him lead her to the regal music. Nicolette wouldn't have tolerated the music otherwise- it had been grawing at her consciousness before Jared had arrived.

"Ah well, parents are attempting to get me to hang out with them more often, recently found out I have this arranged marriage..." she rolled her eyes playfully, "... just discovered a small vintage store a few blocks away from home... normal day to day stuff." Nicolette clapped lightly as the song ended and they parted. A pit opened up in her stomach as she left his side. How did he have so much control over her? But there was no time to ponder that, for she found herself back towards the refreshment table with a cup of punch before the band had started playing the next song of the evening.

"See anybody here that fancies you?" He asked. "I mean, other then myself."

Nikki blushed for what seemed like the millionth time that night while she made a face that screamed a sarcastic, "Really?" She never voiced it. Her gaze drew itself across the room, as if actually searching for someone, "Well, there is that guy over there," she teased, gesturing towards no one in particular, "Nah, I'm kidding. I don't think your ego would allow it if I wasn't. And what about you? Is there another in your life that I should know about? Or are you just window shopping today?"

Mimi couldn't help but smile at how romantic that sounded, a small giggle escaping her lips when he mentioned giraffes. "That was an, err.. interesting comparison," she grinned and placed a gentle peck on his cheek. She really did love this boy, like you didn't know. Miriam returned his kiss, keeping her face close for a little while after he'd pulled away. "I guess so," she whispered, before setting herself back onto her feet rather than her toes and clasping his fingers gently.

"I like the sound of that," she laughed, her breath coming out into little puffs of steam in the night. "Although, I don't think I'd be too good at it. Not in this outfit, anyway," she murmured, carefully watching where she was going so as not to trip over a branch or something. "Can I see you before we have to go home again?" Mimi whispered, probably a little to eagerly; but she couldn't help it.

Trent stood for there for a few moments before seeing Jared walk in. He wanted to run over and see him, but he figured it would be best if he let Jared do what he came to do first. He sighed as he watched him and his fiance talk, not being able to help the feeling of jealousy that he felt.

His mind was quickly taken off of it by the pain that now resided in his shoulder from where his father had grabbed him. It wasn't really a big deal, he had suffered far worse, but he could tell it was going to leave a bruise. Trent's eyes looked back to Jared before walking away to one of the bathrooms.

He looked at himself in the mirror. Nothing was out of place, his tux was still nice and neat. He got his phone out as quick as he could when he felt it vibrate. A smile appeared on his lips as he read the message.

Quickly he went to Jared. He cringed slightly as he went to open the door, once again feeling the pain in his shoulder. As long as Jared didn't touch him there he should be fine, he thought as he entered. Trent shut the door and then leaned against the frame, smiling as he looked at Jared, "I didn't think I'd be able to see you tonight." He said cheerfully. 'No. That's not right. I was afraid I would see you. With her.' He corrected himself mentally before walking closer to him.
