RPG Boot Camp ( )

Postby Teh Andy on Sat Sep 10, 2005 3:48 am

I know this isn't directly related to in character discussion, but I'm very limited on where to put things on this forum, so i chose here.

The following have volunteered services of instruction:

Okashii
Daigotsu
Zhelir

More instructors will be added as time goes on.

The following are voluntary or involuntary trainees:

Zorro
Duo Maxwell
Josh Maxwell
Archangel_07
Hichinaro
Zechs Marquise

Those who are here to learn will be unable to post IC until the instructors here have deemed them worthy of doing so. I understand that this may prove to be quite a predicament since several players undergoing instruction may have prominent roles in the game itself. All the more reason for you to learn quickly and graduate ASAP.

You are to be instructed in on:

How to write in general
How to Describe a scene, action, your character, and anything else valid in your post
Observing your surroundings and use them
Role-playing ettiquette and form
and proper character development.

Once you have shown to your instructors that you have a competent grasp on these, you will be thrust back into the game to carry out whatever your little heart may desire using the tools you gained here. However, if you should slip back into delinquency, you will be smacked again and brought back to Boot Camp for another session.

Lmfao...I think Hitchin can be left alone, archangel and even Zechs. I believe these people were just going with what the other roleplayers were doing because they didn't want start behaving as if they were better roleplayers than the others and stuff (as I was doing until I decided to just fall out of the rp).

But umm...anyways, this is public embarassment! :-/ fwah.

Everyone has to learn at some point. At least they did it nicely to you guys. I was thrown into a drill sargent having situtation with tons of mean oldies on the first forums I roleplayed on, because I wasn't up to par.

The mods there would have just temp banned you guys.

And I'm even still learing to get better.

Yes. I went through THREE different accounts on those forums before I finally was trained and reformed... and they numerously UBER-pissed me off.

So, yeah. You're pretty nice in this field.

I'm not going to 'take on' anyone, I intend to watch over in general.

And I wholeheartedly agree, Nic.

The first thing you should be teaching these people is how to make sense using their own language. Come now, you've been speaking it for how long?

I'll skip Warrius's 'Your'/'You're' confusion and skip straight to the reason I decided to post in this topic to begin with..!

Hellfish, Hon...

"Andy if you need more instructor's you can just count me in."

Let us take a look at that.
'Instructor's' implies posession. (E.G. The Intructor's Pencil.) What, in that sentence, is the instructor posessing?

Absoloutely nothing.
You should've used, "instructors" without the apostrophe.

Maybe it'd be a good idea if you got your Role Playing students to type out their posts in Microsoft Word first, that way, the spelling and grammatical checker can catch on to these simple and yet common errors.

Why?
...because bad English is just as annoying as bad Role Playing.

Just because you skip class to spend your day lurking these boards doesn't make it better.

And Nicci, thank you, you argued for me. In another note, would you be volunteering to help?
