Shane sighed, his stomach growled. "Okay, stop talking about food, it's making me hungry." He groaned. Shane gazed at Ruby and grinned. "How old are you? You seem a little young." He was reffering to her height but he didn't want to make it obvious.

"I'm seventeen, thank you very much. And I'm not completly dumb, I can read through that comment very well." Ruby sighed. "Hungry? Well there's a cafe coming up so you can grab..food?"

Shane shrugged. "Yes food what do you expect me to eat?" He frowned. "Seventeen? That's the same age I am. Why are you so...short?" He asked. "It might just be because I'm 5'11...nope, your definitly short." He shrugged.

"I have a name you know. I can just snap back to calling you farm girl you know." He frowned. "Shane is my name and it better burn into your memory because you'll never forget this guy." He smirked and continued walking.

"There's nothing wrong with farm girl. But If got some friends who could seriously kick your butt." Ruby-Mae warned him. They had reached the small town. "Okay..where do you want to go..? Just take your pick."

Shane rolled his eyes. "Do you have a place around here that doesn't reek of horse crap?" He frowned and wrinkled his nose. "Do y'all even drive cars around here? Oh god, did I just say 'y'all'? It's rubbing off on me!" He fake gagged.

"Well inside the shops and cafes..it smells of nice food, thank you very much." Ruby-Mae sighed. "We would drive cars, but there's no point when you can walk. Yes you do just say y'all. Now jus' take ya pick." Ruby rolled her eyes at him, playfully wacking him on the shoulder but stepping away a little bit, hoping he diddn't discover that she was tickilish.

Shane narrowed his eyes at Ruby. "You just love to pick on the city boy don't you?" He smirked and grabbed her then lifted her up and threw her over his shoulder. "How you liking the view shorty?" He chuckled and started walking towards a small cafe.

Ruby's eyes widened and she glared at him. "I'm glad you think me being short is so funny. And wow..your actually strong..I thought you'd be weak..Why did you pick me up, city boy? Oh right your name is Shane, ain't it?

"I picked you up so I don't have to look at you, is that a problem?" He smirked and set her down in front of the cafe. "I think being short is hilarious." He teased then opened the door and stepped inside. "Yupp. Shane. Shane Roderick Daughtry."

Ruby-Mae ignored him and pushed past him. "Maisy! Finally!" Ruby squealed and ran up to the girl behind the counter, walking around the counter to wrap her up in a hug. "Nice to see ya Ruby." Maisy smiled at her. "Is that guy givin' ya any trouble?" She frowned slightly at Ruby. "Nah..he is dad's girlfriend's son..he's a city boy..and he thinks being short is hilarious." Ruby turned to glare at Shane. "Shane..this is Maisy..Maisy..this is Shane." Maisy sighed. "Nice to meet ya Shane. The usual Rubs?" Ruby nodded. "And lemme guess..you like StarBucks Shane? Well I can make a coffee that is better then theres anyday."

"Nothin', I was just sayin'." Ruby shrugged and slid into a seat. "One coffee and one Strawberry lemonade with a vanilla twist..I'll put your drink on the list, Rubs." Maisy placed the two drinks on the table and left them, returning back to the counter. "Thanks, Maise." Ruby sipped at her drink.

Shane eyed his coffee then picked it up and took a large sip of it. "Not bad." He grinned. "I guess you can make a mean coffee. It might just be better than starbucks." He chuckled and took another sip of coffee. "How long have you two known each other?" Shane asked, obviously bored.
