Name: Rob
Personality:
Rob’s time is split very simply into two parts: sleeping and guitar playing. If he’s not practising a riff on his electric (or acoustic, depending on his mood) guitar he’ll be listening to heavy metal. Ever since he first listened to it, it spoke to him. Yet the genre of heavy metal (for it has sub-genres) depends on his mood: he’ll listen to anything from black, death metal all the way to Alice Cooper, Cream, Steppenwolf, Led Zeppelin and then maybe Cradle of Filth, Prodigy, Judas Priest… If he’s feeling really good about himself, he might even go for alternative rock bands, like Linkin Park and maybe even Nickelback.
His favourite bands comprise of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest – these are two of the more ‘classical’ and ‘lyrical’ heavy metal bands. He’s in a band of his own, but they got separated during the summer, due to each member having family issues. To him, his band is his family, simply because his divorced parents are more concerned with whom they’re dating and because his friends have never given up on him. Therefore, he would do anything for them.
He was forced to accept this ‘prize’ by his mother, who seems to think he hangs around people who do drugs and so he “needs new friends”. This may be true, and he has actually sampled a few, but he’s not really a heavy-metal jerk with a drug addiction. He’s just a normal guy with a lot of rage and a dream of being a rockstar. He and his band have been saving money to get a trip to Wacken, Germany, in Europe, just so that they can check out the metal festival (usually lasting about 3 to 4 days) that happens there every summer. He knows the history of heavy metal and rock quite well, which is surprising, considering how badly versed he is in everyday things like fashion or pop culture or even social interaction.
As for his standing in high school terms, he would probably be the guy who is not really ‘visible’ in school, hovering usually at the back of the class, studying just enough to pass unnoticed in the mass of average grades. He doesn’t get teased a lot, simply because the tattoo on his arm and a string of absences fuelled a rumour that he might have done time for getting into a fight. He hasn’t denied it, which keeps away the jocks and any other guys who think they own the place.
He will almost always carry a guitar pick and a guitar (if he can) around. Here he's brought two: his acoustic one and his electric one with the amp.
Scene Type: Gore scene
Age:(15-18) Just turned 18
Outfits: Leather jacket, t-shirt (either a band t-shirt or just a random thing he picked up at a car boot sale), torn or faded jeans, and sneakers, since he finds it more comfortable to walk around in those than boots. His general look is not so much heavy metal, but more like a “bad-ass” from the ‘50s, like the James Dean era, with the ‘traditional’ leather jacket and jeans.
Sexual Orientation: Straight.
