"Mum, I d-don't have to g-go to this t-thing you know." Tanner stuttered quietly, his voice just a whisper. Pressing his head against the car window Tanner closed his eyes. If it was up to him, he wouldn't have went to this gosh darn sweepstakes mansion thing; it was just another way of either humiliating himself in front of at least ten more kids, or hyperventilating every night alone in some dark room. Tanner would usually go to his sister's room at nights, but now that he knew no one here...well...odds were that he wouldn't be sleeping alot.
"
No, you're going. We're almost there." he heard his mother's high pitched voice. Something he-luckily- hadn't gained. Tanner's voice was only slightly higher than an average boy's voice, but that was mainly because of his sexuality. Pulling up the hood of his brown, furry-hatted coat the boy grabbed his suitcase and sighed. The mansion was in clear view- it looked gorgeous, even to the scared boy sitting in the car.
Maybe this won't be so bad..reassuring himself didn't seem like it did any good, but there was some hope; he heard that people were aloud to sleep in other people's rooms. He'd have to find a friend quick..before the night was over at least.
As the car came to a screeching stop, Tanner curled his fingers around the suitcase's handle and opened the door slowly. He cocked his head backwards- ready to fire off one more plead; but his mother was already shaking her head. "
Go." A sympathetic smile was splayed across her features. Did she not know how nervous he got around people. With a frown Tanner stepped out of the vehicle and headed up the sidewalk. Once his mother's car was out of sight he put the suitcase down and looked around, wondering if anybody was inside yet. Tanner leaned against the porch wall, debating on going in or not.
