Plot:
For years, the "Silvercity Artist's Guild" was one of the most prestigious and famous organizations in the city. Silvercity's pride was in its art- and film- industries, and, the 'Guild' made sure to keep the city's arrogance at its peak. The group was led by Jonathon Glasford, a local with a knack for portraits. He was considered by even the stingiest of Silvercity's critics to be a prodigy among painters. After years upon years of international renown, he settled down with his considerable wealth to marry. He had a single son: Lars, and devoted his life to teaching the boy how to be an artist.
Unfortunately, Lars was not even an average artist; he was flat-out bad. While his father tried to share his hobby with the young man; Lars found a new skillset altogether: he was a capable thief, and he loved the work.
In Johnathon's absence, the quality of Silvercity's art world hit a steady decline. Many of the higher-class critics and dealers fled the city for other, newer, more fashionable havens; and some museums even shut down. The townspeople were still heavily influenced by art, though, none of them managed to attract much attention - even on a local scale. When the untalented head of the Artist's Guild resigned, Lars volunteered to take the position. He claimed to be turning his life around: he had a short criminal record and a father who'd been a famous artist.
The guild was glad to have him. He didn't turn his life, or the guild, around. Both continued to decline. The last of hope seemed to be gone for Silvercity's once-expansive art industry, and, Lars - in a last act of desperation for fame and fortune - decided to take the remaining members of the guild into an all-new direction: theft.
Premise:
Basically, there is a group of wannabe famous artists, none of whom are very good, who eventually convince themselves that robbing museums is an art in and of itself: and make a living of it.
Characters:
Each character is one of these failed artists. The character sheet is pretty simple:
- Code: Select all
Name:
Age:
Physical Description:
- because I want to leave the bulk of everything else revealed within the course of the roleplay itself. Keep in mind that your character is an artist, of their own will, not a thief. I don't want any hardcore badass professional criminals here - in fact, I will probably ask you to rethink your character if you start acting that way.
Rules:
The rules are pretty much common-sense based. Make sure you keep up with RPGateway's public forum rules, and don't powergame or godmod anybody else. If you're going to do something that will change the plot in a huge way, PM me beforehand. Other than that; do whatever you feel like.

Name: Lars Glasford.
Age: 22.
Physical Description: Lars is tall and lanky. His flesh and muscle do little to fill in his slightly-over-six-feet-tall frame. Dark brown hair washes down into his eyes on occasion, and his long; slender fingers are frequently busying themselves with nervous tics. He skin is of an average complexion, and his eyes are a much lighter brown than the hair that masks them. He has his father's trademarked good lucks and smile, even if it rarely surfaces, and a cheesy tattoo of a flaming skull over his left shoulderblade that is normally hidden by casual dress shirts.
