Sam sat on the park bench, tapping his foot against the grass anxiously as he waited for Abby and CJ to arrive. He pulled the collar down on his shirt again, making it something to do, something to take his mind off of the woman that was at this present moment in time, walking in his direction. What was he supposed to say to her? Oh, hi Abby. It's me, Sam. I love you and you love me. We slept together just before you lost your memory and it's practically my fault you're in this position. Oh yeah. That would go down a treat, wouldn't it. She'd never go near him again. So what was he actually supposed to say. He was just a stranger to her now, wasn't he? He couldn't really talk about the past, she wouldn't remember it. He couldn't talk about his daughter, because she had no idea who he was and it would probably come off as being a little strange. There really were no words that he could say to her that didn't sound stupid in his mind.
"Hello."
Shit.
Sammy had been so immersed in his own little dream-like state that he didn't realise that she had walked over to him and sat down, and what was he doing? Staring into space in front of him. Quickly, his eyes darted over his attire, jeans clean, shirt buttoned correctly, shoes only barely covered in mud; he looked respectable enough. Slowly, his eyes moved upwards, until his gaze was situated on the beautiful woman in front of him. "H-Hi." His voice failed him as he looked at her, stunned that he was close to her once more; it was... horrific and amazing at the same time. He loved being with her again, near her, but she had no idea who he was. Heartbreaking, but nice.
He sat there, nodding like Churchill the dog throughout her speech, his eyes occasionally being brought to look at the glittering engagement ring on her left hand. However, when his eyes fell on it, he quickly averting his gaze, wanting to think about anything but her up and coming big day. "I... I don't really know what to say, Abby. I could tell you about who I am, if you want?"
"I'm... We've been best friends ever since we were born. My parents were friends with yours, and vice versa, so we've practically grown up as family. I... I miss you, you know? Since... you forgot. I do. I've lost my best friend and the--.... yeah, my best friend."
