Shaking off the dust... ( )

Postby Yasashii on Thu Dec 15, 2011 1:17 am

For a while, life held too many downs and not enough ups. I couldn't seem to stay around here often enough and finally I left. But I found myself in need of a creative outlet again and I remembered this place. Since it sounds like RPGateway made a fresh start, I thought I could do the same. Not sure if anyone remembers me but anyhow, I'm back.

What's changed around here?
Forlorn! the very word is like a bell
To toil me back from thee to my sole self!
Adieu! the fancy cannot cheat so well
As she is fam’d to do, deceiving elf.
Adieu! adieu! thy plaintive anthem fades
Past the near meadows, over the still stream,
Up the hill-side; and now ’tis buried deep
In the next valley-glades:
Was it a vision, or a waking dream?
Fled is that music — Do I wake or sleep?

Hey welcome back! A lot might have changed since you've been gone, but since you know your way around I encourage you to get right back into it!

But if there's anything different around that you notice, don't be a stranger. Just ask a question ;)

Honesty and transparency were valued, new people were incorporated into the community rather than judged based on what style of writing they preferred, and despite the youthfulness and zeal of the population there prevailed a reasonable degree of common sense.

Hey, Yasashii! I don't remember you personally (I don't think?) but it's nice to meet you for the first time.

I, too, had a bit of a hiatus from Gateway - about seven months. Roleplaying is like riding a bike. You can never forget how to do it once you learn, you just might need a bit of practice to get back in to the swing of it.

Lots and lots and lots of things have changed. I don't know exactly when you left; knowing that might help me pinpoint that question better for you.

Well, here. The Creative Realm, a place to post your original works of poetry, prose, music, or artwork, is in the middle of a revitalization at the moment. That's a change! xD The place used to be pretty stagnant. If you have something you've been sitting on that just really needs to be shared, definitely check it out!

The rules may have changed since you were gone, too. Give the RPG Rules a read, a second. I know it's boring, but they're really brief! They'll give you an idea of what standards we hold ourselves to, as a community. I don't think they may have changed all that often.

Welcome back to Gateway, friend.

Hope to see you around!

RolePlayGateway is a site built by a couple roleplayers who wanted to give a little something back to the roleplay community. The site has no intention of earning any profit, and is paid for out of their own pockets.

If you appreciate what they do, feel free to donate your spare change to help feed them on the weekends. After selecting the amount you want to donate from the menu, you can continue by clicking on PayPal logo.
