A simple hello. ( )

Postby Nabu on Sat Jan 07, 2012 2:22 am

Salutations. I suppose that introductions are necessary, though not required. It is an honor to be here, within the hallowed thread of Introduction. Excuse the flowery, and rather overly formal speech, for that is the way I prefer to communicate within the universe of the interwebs. May I take a moment to explain that my way of speaking is not the only quirk I retain, and have gained along the years of my life. Moving along in a rather quick, swift fashion I don't suppose I really need to explain to you what my title is. But I suppose that without further I may politely explain why I am here, and what I am. Because I, in fact, may not be human.

Tintinnabulation  [tin-ti-nab-yuh-ley-shuhn]
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: loud ringings
Synonyms: chime, clanging, clangor, jingle, noise, ringing, sound

I picked this particular word to become my alias for a specific reason. I am a very talkative person. I'm blunt, a chatterbox, quite rude, egotistical, and probably a million other less-than-flattering words. I do make mistakes, I rather detest the taste of milk, and I enjoy clover honey. I'm the person that speaks too much, listens too little, and understands even less. Though, the opinions of others are taken into consideration, they're not much cared for here. If you are a sensitive person, who doesn't understand a bit of humor, then I suggest that you leave this topic at once, for fear of being humiliated. Really, I'm quite harmful. It's opposite day. No, it's not. I'm harmful. I'm a diabolical fiend who prefers to write all day about gorey, gruesome tales while mumbling and casting spells beneath my breath. Then, I become a harmless geek when one of my parents walk into the room. Pushing that thought aside, I have a little tongue twister for you.

One fat chicken
couple ducks
three baby brown bears,
four humorous hairs
five feral females fidgeting frantically
six silly sailors sailing the seven seas
seven simple simons singing simple songs
eight egotistical egotists eagerly uttering egotistical ectitudes
nine nasty nematoids nibbling on nine nasty nimatoads
ten two-ton two-tone tan transcontinental trucks travelling from Tallahassee, Tennessee to Tyler, Texas on twenty-two terrible tires and two tanks of
Texaco trutest on Tuesday the twenty second. (my personal favorite)

Despite my love for rhymes (it wasn't a rhyme...), reasons, and reading, I must write instead. Ah, alliteration, what joy it brings me in this sad, desolate and depressingly doomed world. Rhymes, tongue twisters, things that have to do with the wonderful thing called words. I find that what saddens me the most is that most of my friends get so frustrated with me for speaking in rhymes all the time that they've warned me they won't talk to me if I do. May I also add that I'm not usually this sarcastic, well, I am sarcastic. Let's just say that I'm usually quite a bit more serious than this. And I'm also a procrastinator. Procrastination is a game that I enjoy playing, in fact it's so much a part of me that I considered using "Procrastination" as my username on this very site. Let it all be known, Tintinnabulation is a procrastinator.

Let us move along once more, quickly. I'm sure you're growing quite tired of reading such things like this. I'm a simple soul, I prefer to do nothing all day, and yet when I do nothing I want to do everything. Alright, perhaps I lied. I'm quite complex in every way you can think of. In fact, I'm so complex to some that I'm simple to others. If you have any questions about me then just ask. There's one thing I resent in a person, someone who can't ask a question. Someone who just beats around the bush all day long. When you are asking me a question, don't ask if you can ask me a question. It's one of the most annoying things to me. It's like a pet peeve, except worse than the pet peeve being a pet peeve.

I'm an odd soul. I'm the prettiest girl at the moonlit ball and the jauntiest chap you'd ever see. I'm the most fantastical creature, the most despicable dragon, the wickedest villain, and the truest knight in a fairy tale. I love to write, I think of about a million ideas a day that are impossible to put on paper. I enjoy drawing as well, even though most of my work is mediocre at best. But passing that by, I'll say one thing, and one thing alone. Everyone is good at something, I don't like it when people start bashing themselves in the head over and over again, I don't tolerate attention whores, and most of all, I'm definitely one of those eight egotistical egotists, because my ego is so inflated that a pin couldn't pop it. In fact, my ego is so inflated that it makes all the other inflated egos just look like tiny midget bastards. Alright, I am done now.

My taste in books is different as well. I'm open to most anything. I'm a speed reader, at least I like to think so. But it really depends on the book, how fast the plot develops, and what kind of life the character takes on. Dull books make for a slow read, great books make for a wicked fast blur of pages. I like fiction quite a lot, while non-fiction doesn't usually strike my interest as often. The authors names slip my mind right now, but I do happen to know a lot of teen novelists that have caught my interest quite a lot. It's interesting, but that's how I get my inspiration. Carrying on with this introduction...

I believe I have taken enough of everyone's time. Thank you for taking the time to read whatever this is. I assure you that I probably could have written a few paragraphs more, but it's quite late over here and I'm a bit exhausted.

Ta.

Hail, Tintinnabulation! Welcome to RolePlayGateway and such!

I'm inclined to call you "Tin" for the sake of brevity, but if that's not your preferred monicker, then I understand. You will probably be cheerfully affirmed to hear that this probably one of the longest, most elaborate and convoluted welcome desk posts I've ever read in my time here, on Gateway! But from the gist of it, I understand you to have a passion for writing, being ready to roleplay - and for yourself!

A healthy ego is good when writing. There are all sorts of personalities within the craft; you take some, y'leave some. When did you first start writing? What sort of IRL hobbies do you have? Are you in school? Despite your exhaustive words, here, I still don't know much about you. (:

Ahh, I haven't introduced myself. M'name's Sato, and I'm a long-time member here around these parts. If you have any questions about how anything at all works here on our lovely forum, then please don't hesitate to ask.

Anyways, again, welcome to the forum!

Hello 'Sato, it's a pleasure to meet you. Yes, you may call me Tin, Tintin, Tinny, or any other kind of nickname that has something to do with the name for some type of metal that I'm entirely uninterested in. I appreciate your warm welcome, and I thank you for your kindness.

I am in fact, very pleased that you find my post rather elaborate, considering that I myself was half asleep when it was created yesterday night I suppose that I can accept that. It is true, I do have a passion for writing, and I am always ready to pull out the creativity that resides in my mind.

I'm glad that you think so, because I might have a very, very healthy ego. I don't think my ego needs to see the doctor, ever. But I like that you're open minded, and I also appreciate it very much. Now... For the questions.

When did you first start writing?

Technically, I started writing in kindergarten. I started with printing, ABCs, numbers, all in a little workbook that my teachers passed out. My fascination for words grew with the knowledge that I slowly gained from them. When I was in second grade I attempted to write a novel, of course I failed completely, but it was a learning experience. Third grade, I found out how to write on the computer and began to learn about typing. Well, this was such a wondrous discovery that I became completely engrossed in polishing off my typing skills and further bettering my writing. I've been writing pretty much all my life, in different stages and forms. When did I first start Roleplaying? Oh... Two years ago, I like to write short stories, poems, anything and everything.

What sort of IRL hobbies do you have?

I play the piano. I enjoy singing quite a lot. I like to eat as well, which is probably something I shouldn't do too often. I also like irritating people to the stage that they can't handle it and they run off in a huff while I stand there with a blank expression on my face, trying to figure out what I did wrong. Getting into the nicer hobbies, I really do enjoy piano and singing, they're two of the best things in my life. I enjoy writing, obviously, and reading is a given because I feel that it comes with writing, most definitely.

I'm glad that you seem so curious about me, and if you have any further questions about me, I'll answer them. In the mean time, I haven't thought of any other questions about the forum, but thank you very much.
