In the year 2010, the war of the immortal and the undead continue to rage on as it has been for the past centuries on the isolated country of Ishlave. Vampires Vs Werewolves, in this critical time the stakes have risen. The vampire hold is slipping as the practice of breding their gaurds was outlawed. This change took place after a well trained 'guard dog' named Valsif rallied the wolves under him and destroyed the conclave they lived in even going as far as to free the humans and work alongside them. The humans know of the immortals around them while most attempt to keep their heads down some are either raised in the enclaves or have taken it upon themselves to hunt down vampires and wolves alike out of fear. Both clans have killed savagely and done horrific things to the other. Both wish to eliminate the opposite race, both are good and both are evil, the only question is: Which are you?

First Post

Mika walked silently through the snow laced forest around her. As she lifted her muzzle to scent the air puffs of white steam slipped between the fangs in her slightly open mouth. She was moving along the edge of the forest heading in the direction of Minslave. Earlier in the month she had made the descision to scout out Valsif, but before she crossed the valley Mika wanted to look into a large enclave that had been brought to her attention by a young wolf passing by. This would be her first stop simply to scout things out.

Lord Agnafarius was quietly sipping from his blood red wine as a most unpleasant sound broke the night's silence.
"I have no time for games today Jaina, and I will not tolerate your presence much longer if you keep disturbing me within the nightly hours" He bore no grudge against the bloody queen that assailed him at night, but her presence did send shivers down his spine. A female vampire, one of such beauty as Jaina Delapeur, could not easily be dismissed "Forgive me, Melady, I am simply not myself anymore" Pale hands formed an embrace around his neck, 2 sharp teeth sank themselves into Fendrel's neck. It was the same routine every night. She came, made a show out of killing him, then returned to her crypt, or the town to sap the folks that lingered on the streets even when the sky had already darkened. And as expected, she left him without uttering a word.
"If theres people with haystakes and torches again, I won't help you this time" he hissed after her as she took off, eyes narrowed and teeth bared. She started to annoy him to an extreme extend, and he couldn't do away with her without feeling just a tiny bit of dread in his never beating heart. Thus, he simply rose from his chair and propped himself on the balcony, gazing into the starless sky and the wild forests below "How many of these canines are there to haunt my dreams? How many of these beasts to assault me when I'm vulnerable?" He mutted to himself, as a dark shadow fell upon his eyes. A fist slammed down upon the balcony, cracks appearing in the marble stone "I will not have these dogs swarming MY city!" Skin broke and flesh tore apart, but he did not bleed. Nor did he feel the pain, but he did eye the wound quizzingly "You are getting weak, count Agnafarius" he said to himself before hurling himself down into the darkness, his cape fluttering behind him as he made his way into the capital town of minslave.

Rydia roamed the area around her camp. She walked at a rather slow pace, enjoying the peaceful evening. She also kept her eye out for some herbs that she could make into some medicines that she knew she would need. Rydia had just joined a small group lead by a man by the name of Valsif. From what she'd heard, Valsif was a werewolf. This didn't bother Rydia, it was vampires that rubbed her the wrong way. All that she had loved was taken from her by those bloodsuckers, but she didn't hate them. The way she saw it, her life is too short to hate. The human mortality rate was very low now-a-days. She felt a cold gust of wind hit her, but she didn't shiver. Because Rydia was born in the cold, she was used to it. She was almost resistant.
On this day, Rydia wore a marron colored skirt, a long sleeve white undershirt with a marron short sleeve shirt over it, a pair of small black boots that came halfway up her calf, and a scarf around her neck that was white and pink stripes. The outfit worked well for her, making her creamy pale skin aparant. Her eyes were a dark gray, but looked exceedingly friendly. Her hair was a light blond, some framing her face in a seemingly accidental disarray and the rest was made into a long braid before it was spiraled into a bun on top of her head. The end of her braid was tied with her lucky blue ribbon.
"I knew I didn't carry enough faith in myself. I am to blame. I was afraid that even if there had been no gate, we would someday go our separate ways, but I have to put that behind me now and live in the present believing in the future." ~Ah! My Goddess!~

Mika watched with glittering gold eyes as a female vampire left the area she was watching. She heard the count's outcry and a resemblance of a sneer pulled her lips back from cold fangs. She needed to watch this one breifly then she would go to the netherlands. A swift bound carried her upwards where she could watch her target without being easily noticed. Mika grinned to herself as she thanked whoever was watching that her coat was pure white as she padded along. Her ears rotated and flicked in different directions carefully keeping alert for whoever may be protecting the count.

Agnafarius had been hastily making his way through undergrowth, vines and branches that got in his way when suddenly he stopped dead in his tracks. A queer smell had assaulted his sensitive nose, along with the sound of claws scraping along the forest's grassy floor "Observe" he mumbled to himelf as he drew his sword from its scabbard. The song of a single blade followed as Fendrels sword cut through air, wood and leaf and as he stood once more, drawing a deep breath, trees fell away, cleanly cut, and whole bushes collapsed to form a small clearing all around him "And learn" he muttered, before watching his surroundings intently with half-closed eyes. A shrug, then a quiet "hmpf" as Agnafarius slid his weapon back into it's sheath and continued his way, drawing his cloak a bit closer and remaining alert all the time. "Damn forest creatures, canines everywhere, really should burn them all to the mumblerumbleingodsname probably just Jaina ripping off a rabbits neck whydoIevenbotherkeepingheratall...." His words were lost in the wind, he could not fathom that they were indeed picked up by a brain that could associate them with a meaning. His walk was fast and steady, and he looked forward to finally breaking from the outskirts of the forest and into the dark night beyond....

Mika had backtracked to a tree that escaped the vampire's attack. She was human now and had one eyebrow curved up in disbelief. She shook her head and thought to herself. "Vampires are so eccentric sometimes." She shifted again and took up her pusuit again this time at a bit of a safer distance. "Jaina hmm? Wonder if thats one of his pets." She held back a growl that always seemed to come about when she thought of the wolves that willingly stayed in service. In her mind they were no better then well trained puppies.

Kristeen sat, curled into a ball, her hand against her neck. She hated the feeling that was left behind after being fed on. She kept her eyes glued to the floor, her white hair shielding her from the outside world. She was hoping no one else would feed from him again tonight, she felt exausted already. Her clothes were stained with blood from all the feedings that she had suffered thourgh, she just wanted out .

Kyleen walked through the forest, a bag hanging over her right shoulder that held an assortment of weapons. Her eyes landed on a girl walking in a maroon skirt. She had honestly never seen a vampire and was unaware of what fetures she should be looking for. She knew they were pale, or at least they were in the stories. She walked closer to the girl, anger in her experssion.

Rydia could here the sound of footsteps coming closer and closer to her. She turned around, another gust of air blowing against her, trying to chill her skin but could not. The wind blew some of her hair into her face however. She brushed the stray hair from her face with her long, dainty fingers. She did, perhaps, resemble a vampire from a distance. Her dark eyes looked at the girl comeing nearer. She smiled gently and waved to Kyleen. Rydia could see that Kyleen was young, younger than she was anyway. "What brings a youth like yourself out here in the cold?" she asked politely.

Kyle sighed under her breath as the girl spoke. Out of all the stories she had heard, politeness wasn't a quality of a vampire. Her posture grew more relaxed, "Vampire hunting." She said simply, not caring if one of them would happen to be close by. She wanted to feel the thrill of the fight more than anything. It wasn't until the girl mentioned the cold that she realized the temperature. A chill went down her back, her tank top and shorts not being too much for warmth.

Rydia listened patiently to what the girl said. She smiled at her still, being like her own little ray of sunshine. "Well, that is a risky business you know." she said. Rydia then giggled when she saw the poor girl shiver. "I take it you're not from here." she said with a smile. She walked up to the girl, unraveling her pink and white scarf from her neck as she walked. She handed it to the girl as she was close enough to her. "Here, you'll freeze out here." she said. "Maybe you should come with me back to camp. I could make you a nice cup of tea." she offered with a warm smile. It was ridiculous how open she was to even a stranger. Rydia would have probably gotten herself killed by now if it weren't for her ability.

"Thank you." She said as she wrapped the scarf around her neck. It looked a bit odd with her out fit. "And it's not dangerous if you can't find any." She said with a frown. She didn't understand how her dad could've found so many while she was having trouble finding one. She smiled when the girl offered her tea. She hadn't had something warm to drink in a while since she spent most of her time traveling.

"Thank you, that sound heavenly." She said as she tightened the scarf.

Rydia smiled with delight. She clapped her hands together and said, "Then we should get going." She took her new friend's hand and started walking rather quickly. She felt the need to strike up conversation as they walked along. "You know, meeting a vampire isn't all it's cracked up to be." Rydia said. "They like to live in clusters now-a-days, I believe." she then stated. "Enclaves I believe they are called." she nodded. "I, personally, have had nothing but bad experiences with them." she then sighed. "But...I can't help but think that there are good ones out here. I would gladly give them that change." she said. Rydia didn't look at her friend, fearing that maybe she thought she was an idiot now.

They came upon the camp soon enough. When the arrive, Rydia called in a bright, cheery voice, "Valsif!! Valsif I found a poor girl wondering alone freezing, so I thought I'd bring her to warm her up."

Pacing back and forth throughout camp Valsif was beginning to tire. “Rydia!” He shouted at the top of his lunges, his voice ringing out clearing through the still night air as he turned from his were-form. He wore a pair of tattered and worn black breeches and a white laced shirt that had very little of its arms left. “Rydia where are you!” He shouted again through the camp, this time his voice having a temper..

Hearing Rydia’s voice he turned, transforming into his were-form. Sniffing the air he picked up her scent with ease and began to run to her. “Why is she on the other side of the camp!?” He asked himself. Sprinting wildly through camp it didn’t take long to get to the other side and be in front of Rydia and young girl he didn’t know. “There you are! I’ve been calling for you throughout camp.” He said without as much as a hello, and in a less then polite tone. Looking back down at the young girl he smiled. “I don’t believe we have met. I’m Valsif, leader of this small following. Who might you be?” He asked in a much sweeter tone then he used with Rydia.
Socrates once said........ To fear death, my friends, is only to think ourselves wise, without being wise: for it is to think that we know what we do not know. For anything that men can tell, death may be the greatest good that can happen to them: but they fear it as if they knew quite well that it was the greatest of evils. And what is this but that shameful ignorance of thinking that we know what we do not know?

Rydia smiled her usual bright smile as she saw Valsif drawing nearer. She could tell that he was probably cross with her because she'd wondered off without telling him anything. She couldn't help her sudden impulses to go off and do things that seemed random to most other people. The fact of the matter was, she did find some of the herbs she was looking for, which was good for those in their following that couldn't heal quickly on their own. "Sorry Valsif." she said. "I just went for a little walk around is all." she explained. "I didn't know that you needed me here at the moment." she said with a smile still on her face. She then realized when Valsif asked for the girl's name, she had never done so herself. What a thing to forget to ask.

Kyleen took a step back when she saw a man walking towards her. For some reason he seemed off to her, though she wasn't quite sure why. She looked at the two curiously as they talked, wondering why he seemed so angry. It was easy to tell from the way she stood that she was not very trusting.

'Following', she repeated in her head. The word reminded her of a cult, though it might have just been her. She smiled back, "I'm Kyle." She didn't see any reason to give them her full name, she didn't like it that much anyway.

Lowering his head Valsif felt bad for how he had spoken. She had only ever treated him with kindness and he seemed to always reply with anger which he shrugged off as protectiveness. “No I’m sorry.” He said. “You are a free woman and can do as you please. It’s just that these lands are harsh to survive in for even a werewolf… and I worry about your safety if you just wonder off.” He explained. Raising his head he looked at her with sorrowful eyes and cracked a faint smile.

Turning his gaze to the girl named Kyleen his eyes filled with suspicion. “Well Kyleen it’s nice to meet you.” He said with compassion and a smile. “You look hungry.” He said with no evidence to know if she was or not. “Why don’t we get into camp and have something to eat. Rydia makes a pretty good cup of tea.” He said with the utmost kindness.

Two days before:

Mika had her fill of folloing the vampire. She wasn't able to get much from him, but she did learn alot about the layout of his enclave. Mika made it back through to the forest quickly slowing only once she made it deep into the woods. She was pleased that her years on her own had erased any trace of her injury and built up her endurance.

On her third day Mika sat on a rock in the barren plain of the netherlands. She looked up at rising smoke that signaled a camp about 20 miles off. A hot gust of air brushed over her as she stood and shifted. She set off with a deep growl and her back claws digging into the hard earth.

Not too long later Mika made it to the outskirts of the camp. She picked up the sound of yelling and headed for it, eventually coming upon two girls and the man she assumed was Valsif. She held her wolf form and sat waiting patiently for them to settle their discussion.

Rydia simply smiled at Valsif. She never took his harshness personally. He was a busy man, and he had a lot to deal with. Not to mention that he was a good enough person to be protective of his comrads. "Don't worry about it Valsif. I'll be sure to tell you I'm going next time and perhaps take someone along." she suggested. She then looked back at Kyleen. "You really look like you need some R&R." she said with a laugh. "You've run into the right girl. I'll fix up some tea and get you something warmer to wear." she offered. Without Kyleen's consent, she was already at work. There was already a good fire going in the camp, so she just hung a pot of water over it to boil. She threw in some herbs that she had set aside just for tea. While the water and leaves boiled, she dug in her own possessions and pulled out a jacket and some pants. She thought that her and Kyleen were around the same size.
