Scratching his short blonde hair with his free hand, Animus turned around to face the other. The morning sun glared down revealing a white mask over his face. "Simple set up just to get a quick sample run down." Indeed, the Roman Colosseum was an empty field almost 300 feet in diameter surrounded by high walls. Beyond that were spectator seats like a stadium for blood craving eyes. Today, however, they were empty save for a few idlers who just so happened to be interested in what was happening. "Animus Miser, by the way. A pleasure."

Laisren passed a gaze along the arena before letting his eye's settle on his opponent Animus, "I think your a man like any other."

Laisren grinned, grabbed his shield from his back and unsheathed a short sword from his side. "Laisren Valorius," he said, fancifully whipping the sword around in his right hand, and adjusting his stance with his shield raised before him only revealing his eye's to his opponent, "there are only three ways to measure a man, by his mind, body, and determination. Now let me measure you!" Laisren said as he steadied his shield in his left hand. He slightly bent both knee's allowing the shield to cover his torso up to his nose. He faced his opponent Animus at a angle as to not showcase his back or front, only his side.
