Background Story
June 11, 2011, the world was struck by the largest solar prominence known to man. Everyone expected the world to end, the heat of the solar prominence to burn them to ashes. Families joined together and religious ceremonies with a record number of people attending took place. All closed their eyes as the solar prominence was coming, a count-down being sent via television to tell exactly when the solar prominence would hit. 3…2…1…… The solar prominence had finally arrived at Earth, swept past all the forests and homes of innocent civilians, but did not burn them. People slowly opened their eyes, wondering how they were alive.

Soon tides of great news flooded the channels, all gleefully laughing at their great fortune. Some say that their god had protected everyone from the earth, as they had prayed for him/her in their last minutes. But others knew the truth. They didn’t know what the “solar prominence” really was, but they knew it did change something. The people that knew... were the people that changed. Powers now coursed through their veins, allowing them to control elements, turn invisible, and a variety of other abilities.

Sadly to say, a US military official by the name Reeves Lewis, got a magic power, and realized what kind of power it could give him. He had gone power hungry, but he needed to know what he was dealing with. He gathered his best men, his friends who wouldn’t mind getting in on a sweet deal, and devised a plan. They would capture people who they discovered had powers, and place them in a forgotten military facility. They would create a series of “tests” to see the limits of their abilities. Once he was done, the strongest survivors would work for him, doing whatever he said. But perhaps the powers were too much for him to handle. Only time will tell.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Appearance of forgotten military facility:
The stench of the military base is alarming and also disturbing. You are inside a room that has eight walls around it, with a small brown door on one of them. The floor beneath you is filthy, and slightly rotten due to age. The walls on the other hand have been painted a dark brown, similar to the colour of the door. Approaching the faded brown wooden door, you look into the keyhole in an attempt to see the other side. With no sucess, the lights in the room adjacant to the one you are in is in total darkness, and you can't make out a thing. There are yoga mats in the room with a thin blanket on each one, obviously being used as a substitute bed. A large P.A. system has been placed on the ceiling, beside a light bulb being used to supply light.

EDIT: These are the current powers of your characters. The brackets with a # is like a count-down to when the power is improved. When certain criteria is achieved, the number will decrease. Some abilities like speed and strength just improve over time, and don't have brackets.

Name: Joseph "Joey" Mills- Level 1.
He is able to rip out many materials from his surrounding which go around his arm, creating a large armoured stone arm. He is unable to control it though, and after 30 minutes his arm gets too tired to continue using it. (5)
Joey can make himself slightly lighter thanks to his control of gravity, but only helps him jump high and can’t be used on others at the moment. (8)
Scratches and small wounds heal easily, but as they heal, he is quite tired.
Able to create large shields, swords, and a variety of other equipment. Maximum of four at a time. (20)

Name: Ellthina Lour(aka Ellie)- Level 1.
With a snap of her fingers, she can cause water to rise and shape into any form, and can send it forward in one direction. Can only use the same water twice. (5)
With a wave of a hand, she can make large (10x10cm) hail fall down on her target. (8)
A simple twirl allows her to direct the wind in which ever way she pleases, creating a dust storm with the wind or a water spout (can also create small tornados, though they have next to no effect). (5)
Moves fast.

Name: Lourdes Marcial de Longe- Level 1
She can move objects the size of chairs, and fling them a great speeds. 3 times and she gets exhausted.(10)
Has the ability to turn invisible temporary, can move around undetected for 15 seconds, then the effect wears off. (5) She is quite strong with good reflexes.
Can take away energy from something, and then shoot it back out as lightning bolts. (10)

Name: Rose Law- Level 1
Absorbs the moisture in the air over time, freezes it (automatically) and shoots out small ice shards that can pierce skin. (3)
Same healing ability as Joseph.

Name: Ken Spensha- Level 1
Ken can make flames appear on any surface as he sees fit. Height of flames are roughly 10 cm, and can create a field of fire 3x3m large. (9)
Ken is able to resist regular flames, but fire created through magic has some affect on him.
He also heals quickly, like Joseph and Lourdes.

Waking up the first thing she felt was the cold floor underneath her, touching her head she felt for the tender spot 'Ouch..' Still laying on the floor she looked up at the ceiling, then her eyes went across the walls - painted in a rather ugly brown - maybe a shade of umbra. Slowly trying to sit herself up, she planted her elbows firmly on the ground than passed the weight onto her hands and pushed herself up. Her head still spinning slightly, she grabbed her head in a sudden jolt of pain ripping through her head, eyes tightly shut. She had hit that door of the van pretty hard, sighing she winced as the pain finally seemed to fade a little. With one hand rubbing her forehead, than her eyes - she rubbed her face in hopes she might wake up from this nightmare she had found herself in.

"And where in hecks name am I?" she said out loud - talking to herself was another thing she frequently did, though her friends had gotten used to that little tick she had. Not attempting to stand up just yet, she mustered the wall again, than her eyes wandered over to wooden door, painted in the same color as the walls. 'Who ever designed this place has no taste, at all!' she thought before noticing the the yoga mattress next to her. 'Now why am I laying next to it and not on top of it?' well she never was good at sitting on one designated place, the same goes for her bed - she found herself countless times beside her bed in the morning. 'Ah yes, that's why' looking down at the floor she jumped up, "Oh gross!" the floor was pretty dirty, now she really wished she hadn't had that stupid rolling around in bed habit.

Dusting herself off of whatever bits and pieces where hanging of her, she tumbled around for a few seconds. The sudden shift of blood pressure had made her quite dizzy, close to blacking out she regained her composure leaning against a wall. Shaking her head slightly, being careful not to trigger that bump she had on her head right now, she walked towards the door. Trying to open it, of course who ever abducted her wasn't going to let that door open, but hey no one could blame her for trying. and yes indeed, the door was locked - she wasn't a dumb brat though. She knew exactly why they had taken her, ever since that damn solar prominence, that fateful day. She remembered that day so well, cowered together in the bomb shelter they had in their cellar. Her father, mother and siblings, thinking that the earth was going to end that day.

Since then she had experience weird things happen all around her - she had powers, yet very weak but she managed to control some of them. For example she was able to make herself disappear for a few seconds, than she could flick around small objects - at first pencils than the objects got bigger like chairs etc. Standing in front of the door, trying to look through the Key hole, all she could make out was darkness. Would it help if she'd try to shout out for someone, for help? She figured not, but then - there might be more of her kind. She chuckled at that thought, she had drawn an unconscious line between those who had power and those who didn't. "Hey! Is there anybody out there!!!" she yelled as well as hammering against the door, the echoes of her desperate hammering hailing throughout the corridor or whatever it was outside of her cell.

Joey woke up, dazed and disorientated. Groaning, he pushed himself into a seated position, and rubbing his head, took a look around. The first thing he noticed was the bare light bulb, dangling from the ceiling, and then, in the harsh flickering light from the lone bulb he began to notice his surroundings. There were eight bare walls, one of which was actually a door, and all were an old and faded brown. The floor sagged beneath him, and appeared to be rotting, and on it lay makeshift beds made of mats and raggedy old blankets. And the smell was... awful.

Surveying his surroundings, and looking around in bewilderment, Joey asked of no one in particular, "Where the fuck am I, and what the hell is going on?" Standing up, he walked to the door, and pounded on it, yelling, "Hey! What the hell is going on here!?!?!"

((Lol, we posted at like the exact same time, saying almost the exact same things.)) <- Edited in upon realizing this.

Rose was laying on her front, cold floor pressing through her thin clothes. She pushed herself up on shaking arms and bit into her lower lip as her body surged with energy. The air around was freezing cold and it hit her hard, almost making her collapse again at the same time as it made her want to get up and do a few laps of the room. She raised her head as she pushed herself back so that she was kneeling on the thin mat she had been left on. Peering around she saw that she was in an dark room, she couldn't see very well and squinting made her head hurt.
"Mum? Dad?" she swallowed. Determined to hold in her fear, she wasn't afraid, she wasn't helpless, she could get out of this. She stood slowly and began to sway a little as she staggered, her head still a little light. She took a deep breath and pulled more of the chill from the air to hold herself steady.
"Mum?" she whispered as she head banging and shouting. Sounded male, too young to be her father. Then through the dregs of sleep she remembered something, the suited man. The power she'd had to use against her father.

This wasn't somewhere they brought your perfectly normal parents. "A freak show." she said.

Echo slid with a gentle rumble down a muddy slope, her parcel clutched in her hand so hard her knuckles almost bled. Checking a map drawn hastily onto her right arm, she looked around at her surroundings. This was the place that she had been told about, and her mission was hear. Even without a specialized power, it didn't take an idiot to see something suspicious was going on here.

High barbed wire fences, camoflagued gun turrets, armed guards... not something you would typically see in your average stroll in the woods. The place reeked of despair and danger. Her hands trembled as every nerve in her body screamed at her to turn and run, but she pressed forward, her heart pounding in her chest. There was a time when you just had to let go of all logic and trust in the slightest of hopes, even from a complete stranger.

It was most likely this would be her last day of freedom, possibly her last day on earth, but she had prepared for that long ago. Besides, it would all be worth it for what lay inside that frightening facility, answers were what she needed, and she would not leave without them.

An armored convoy truck rolled by down the dirt forest path. Ducking low into a bush, her green and muddy camo clothes covered her from sight as the large gate rumbled open and the truck moved in. Too soon, too risky. She would wait here until nightfall, and then make her move.

Ellie sat up slowly, her arm being sore from where the needle had been. She shook her head, causing her hair to fall in front of her eyes. Of course that didn't help her see any, but neither did the light in the room. She scanned the room, feeling numb inside, like a caged bird once again. All there was, was that small light bulb and the filthy mat on the floor and a door.

Blinking, she wondered if the door was opened, oh how that would make her day. But she knew the chances of that were slim. Even so, she still needed to know. She felt like a rat in a cage, and if she didn't try to find a way out, then how would she ever escape in the first place? She slowly got up, moving the strands of white hair behind her ear so she could see better. Walking towards the door, she listened, listened for the slightest of foot steps or noise. She heard others, it seemed like whispers, but she heard them, the wind carried the voices through the keyhole.

She reached the door, and tried opening it, with no luck the door didn't open. Of course, she was some lab rat for being a freak, or whatever you called someone who creates tornadoes. She sighed, beginning to pace back and forth. She didn't like this place one bit, it reminded her a bit of home, but only 10x worse than it was. Thinkink about it, no, it was way worse than this, she wouldn't have had to deal with being locked in a room with nothing but a nasty old mat. What, did the people in charge think she was some sort of mut. No, she wasn't going to stand for this.

Continuing to pace back and forth, she began to think of a plan. There were others there, and there was no way one could go without food or water. So someone had to open that door eventually, and all it took was the right timing.

EDIT: Okay so apparantely there was a slight confusion. It was supposed to be that you were all in the room together, and that's the place you all sleep in, but oh well. Since not many people got it, I'll edit my description of the base and the post here. (That means you all have your own little cell)

Reeves Lewis cleared his throat as he prepared to click the red button in front of him. His ability of clairvoyance, seeing any place he wanted to see, was so amazingly useful. If didn't have it, he would've had to rely on cameras, and in a room full of aggravated people with magic powers, chances are they would break down pretty quickly. Reeves held down the red button, turning on the P.A system, allowing them to hear his voice.

"Hello changed ones. As most of you can see, despite your (laugh) rather confused state of being, you have been placed in an abandoned military facility. You have been gathered here to be tested. Your abilities are yet to be explored and harnessed, and I shall soon be the first one to do it. I have created a variety of interesting "stages" that you must complete. Failure to do so means death, as I will lower then lower the ceiling upon you all, which would squish you all like bugs.
Survivors of the entire thing shall work under me, and will help me achieve any goal I wish to obtain.

In the room adjacent to yours is a large "meeting area" you could say. You will see an even larger octagon-sided room, with several doors leading into the cells of individuals. Your doors have just been unlocked, the person who unlocked has already ran away in quite hurry. You honestly didn't expect someone to open that door for you? So that what, you can capture the person and take a hostage? Not likely. You will also see a series of trays on a large table, like a buffet (in the middle of the room), except you will notice the food is not exactly (laugh) gourmet. That is all.

He released the red button and smiled. The fools didn't even consider breaking down the wooden door, something that could even be done physically. Unlike the door of their cell, there was a massive steel door in the meeting area, and he could tell none of them were able to take down something like that yet. The door had a number pad, a 7 digit password, that he would tell them when they seemed ready for the first stage. He was surprised though, he honestly did expect them to break down the weak little door, and find the food themselves. Oh well, it turned out just as fine. His little brother Simon silently unlocked all the individual doors and scurried off, unlocking the doors just as everyone was distracted by his voice, and typed in password with haste, closing the door behind him. Their faces when they realized the door had been unlocked while he was talking was downright hilarious, obviously some people were planning on ambushing whoever opened the door.

"eh, I'm bored. time to burn." he said as he woke up. after he said this, he decided to create a fire to warm up. once he made the fire, he started burning stuff down. He burnt down the cell bars in about a minute, and went on burning down the others. "if this was meant to be hard, then hes crazy. But i guess we already knew that. Wake up every one, time to rise and burn...err i mean shine."

Joey walked out of his cell as the door locked, flipping the bird towards the PA system as some stereotypical villain chortled his evil plot out in a monologue and acted like they were all idiots. Running around the room was some kid burning stuff down. Shaking his head, Joey ignored him, and went to the table to get some food. Unsure of the bounty presented to him, he reached for a glass of ordinary water, as that was all he really needed.

Rose jumped when the PA started up, then shuddered as the voice began. She looked towards the door, wishing she'd had the guts to try and knock it down a few moments earlier. As it was she felt like a small and rather scared child as she walked slowly towards the door. She pushed it open, timidly peeking her head around the side she saw a boy already drinking a glass of water. She took a deep breath to steady herself as she approached the table of food. "Hello?" she said quietly, trying to fuse as much courage into her voice as possible. She felt tiny beside the boy and tried to square her shoulders. She wasn't weak, she wasn't delicate, she knew what was goi9ng on and was going to face it head on.

Ellie wrinkled her nose, hearing the man. Right from the start she didn't like the sound of this guy, and she had a feeling he was one of the morons who think they knew everything. Heh, the man is really a hypocrite, calling us idiots. He has the same amount of clue of what our powers can do, and yet he thinks he can keep us here. She smiled to herself, she felt rebelious right at the moment. No one was going to keep her locked away, and if there is a will, there is a way.

She had stopped pacing a few moments ago. Now she was walking towards the door and moved her hand to turn the knob and open it. Ellie then gracefully entered the room with the food and water. The food didn't look that grand, and for all she knew, they could've put something in the food and drinks. No way was she going to touch and food or water from this place. And she had a feeling that the man wanted her alive. If he was going to play a little game with people trapped in what seemed like cages, she was going to turn things around. But she knew she couldn't do it alone.

Looking around the room she saw a young man drinking water. She walked over towards him and blinked, not really knowing if she start off on her theory about the food and water or if introductions should come first. She sighed quietly to herself, "Excuse me, but wouldn't you think that water has something put in it, or does it seem fine to you?"

Pretty pissed off Lourdes listened to the guy - his laughing had ticked her off even more. As he finished his little speech she couldn't believe her ears when he told them someone came all the way and unlocked all the doors, put food out on a table in some meeting area. "You son of a ****!" she huffed still in her room - probably everyone around her and outside could have heard her little outburst, she had pretty strong voice chords apparently. "When i get out of here!" still yelling and kicking against the door "I'll personally make sure that you won't have anything else to laugh about!" finally kicking the door open. There was no graceful opening of the door more like a burst it sprung open.Standing in the middle of the door way, Jaw clenched she looked around, her beautiful facial features distorted by the utter most horrible feeling of wanting to rip that guys head off. Still mumbling something under her breath, she wasn't the type to listen to orders, nor the type to calmly sit back and wait it out - she'd do something about this, very soon. Noticing a guy and a girl she watched them carefully, before walking up to the table. Looking at the food it really didn't look good "If he wanted to sedate or poison us - he would have killed us in our sleep - I am eating this, cos the heck who knows what 'Tasks' this guy is going to put us through - hence a weak body isn't going to help anybody but hinder people from success." With that she started to dig in the food - she never ate much, but if she wanted to kick that guys behind personally she'd have to be strong both mentally as physically.

Reeves watched them using his power of clairvoyance, he was glad none of them had broken the speaker. Reeves watched as they began to eat, with a few exceptions here and there. "Do they think it's drugged?" He asked himself. Well if they did, they'd be right. It wasn't something to kill them, actually it was an energy booster that was being tested in the military, that he taken by not quite legal means. Either way, they would need it.

Reeves had already planned out the first and second stage, and wanted his "contestants" to be in the best shape they could in a few hours, so he could begin his testing. Reeves stummed his fingers on the electronics before him, thinking. "How do I get these fools to eat? If I wanted to kill that would've happen ages ago. EAT damn you! EAT!" He yelled at the empty space, as if it would magically control everybody who wasn't eating to eat. He sighed, pressing the red button yet again. "Eat you pathetic worms! Congratulations to the ones with half a brain who are eating, but to those who aren't, unless you want to starve to death, I suggest eating NOW." He said, then releasing the red button. Admitably he didn't say it in the most convincing tone ever, but hopefully it was enough. Reeves never had much of a patience, and this was not helping.

Joey turned to the first girl and replied, "Hey." Before immediately being beset by another woman asking him if the water was poisoned. "I wouldn't think so." Joey said. "If he wanted us dead he had plenty of time to do it before hand." Yet another female came out and started yelling and shoving her face full of food. Joey shook his head, smiling ruefully, and grabbed a loaf of bread, ripping a hunk off and munching on it. The PA came on again, calling them idiots once more and telling them to eat. He shook his hunk of bread in the air, and continued munching on it, sitting down against a wall, and drinking his water.

Rose took a deep beath, grabbing her own glass of water before the PA came on again telling them all to eat. It would have sounded suspicious but what the boy said was right. If he wanted them dead he'd had plenty of time to do it. Rose sipped the cold water, relaxing with the chill it gave her. As much as the guy wanted her to eat she really didn't feel hungry. The water would sustain her, it wasn't like food really fuelled her any more. She finished off the glass and wandered away from the table to lean against the wall, the cold pressing through her clothes she shivered and managed a small smile, pulling the cold in and letting it was over her. She was soon shaking with energy again.

Reeves rolled his eyes, did he really have to tell people to do a basic bodily function? The first stage that he had devised didn't pose a particular risk to anyone, but was extremely time-consuming. Using the first stage, he intended to find out the abilities of the many people. He frowned however, did he have all the conditions that some of them might need? He had prepared a sink, an oven, and an electrical outlet in the first stage, and hoped it would be enough to allow everyone to use their abilities.

Many of them were starting to feel the effects of the food, moving more quickly and had a lot more energy compared to their previously drowsy state. "Soon," he thought, "soon my testing shall begin."
