Hey, I'm not new to roleplaying, nor this site, but I am new to this particular section. I havn't really spend much time [none, actually] in competitive roleplaying/fighting. I'm looking for a spar, something to get me into the swing of things, etc, etc, maybe someone to help me build some skills or tactics?

I made a character specifically for the fighting matches, his name is Jidrabou. As you can see he's physically strong, and can use the wind element. Really, he is meant only for hand-to-hand combat, but his control over the wind will work as a defensive measure against the stronger powered characters out there.

Is anyone willing to help me out, then?

This is my character, I'd love to spar with you. I'm a primarily hand to hand fighter myself, and I rarely even use my sword as it is. I prefer close range rather than magic, although this character has the ability to use elements. I usually don't use them but to defend or cancel out attacking opponents magic and what not.

Jidrabou stood, his arms before his chest, locked in a knot. His eyes were closed, and surrounding him was a strange aura. His feet gently grazed the sand as he meditated. The wind moved his hair gently from side to side, the sand moved and dancing in slow, intricate patterns below his bare feet.

"It's been so long!" Called a voice in his head, the true demon. He focused on every inch of his own body, every piece of scar tissue and what it meant. Soon his opponent would arrive, he could see it now. A confident person. Young. May not think too logically. A perfect opponent for Jidrabou. It had been roughly 67 years since his last true fight. The thrill of the fight... ah, the thrill. He could feel it in his chest, beating a warrior's tempo in his heart.

Ah! There it is. There he is. His opponent, the confident one. He heard him shout of how grand this area was, and grand it was indeed. It had housed a blood sport for all it's life, and now that sport was to be brought back to life with only two spectators, with only two gladiators.

'Alright, I'm all stretched and ready...' claimed Jidrabou's opponent. The wind was quiet, quiet enough to allow you to hear the sand moving beneath his feet. The sand ground to a halt, Jirabou freed his fingers and opened his eyes. He dropped to the ground with a loud thud, sending a small blast of sand a meter in every direction.

He turned to face his right shoulder to Shion, lifted his left arm, making a fist, and arced it over his head. He slightly bent his right knee and made a fist with his right hand. His right fist was lifted to be in line with Shion. Then, slowly, Jidrabou turned his head, his eyes to meet another pair.

Jidrabou nodded the moment Shion began movement, but he didn't move his body. As his enemy's fist came to his face he lowered his hands, twisted his shoulders and turned his head. The sand was kicked up in a small cloud as his feet moved in a circular way. He raised his hands as Shion's hand entered the gap of air that Jidrabou's head had once occupied. He lifted his arms and grabbed Shion's fist, then, using the momentum of his turning body, pulled Shion's fist forward. As he did his shoulder made it's way into his opponent's armpit to give himself leverage. He placed his right foot behind Shion's, and kicked it forward. then Jidrabou began to lift Shion forward, the same direction as his fist was being pulled, with this defensive move, Jidrabou would flip his enemy easily.

The wind howled and formed into a moving spear behind the two men, rushing forward like a bull, using it's power to begin it's charge towards them, dragging with it a whirl of sand and dust. Hopefully, if all went well, by the time the wind arrived at them, Shion would be floored... Jidrabou kept his eyes not on his enemy, but on the old walls surrounding them. He didn't need to look at Shion with his eyes, he could feel him just fine.

(Tips: Good job, for being a first timer that was a good counter o.o I understood everything, you should specify the shoulder. I know which one you use, but people complain at the littlest thing.)

Shion's wrist was grab and pulled, knocking him off balance as he would be pulled into a flip. He quickly bent his left elbow with it's palm aimed at the ground; He had leaned forward bending gently at the torso to land square to the ground and reduce the impact of landing, thus successfully breaking his fall. As the gust of wind passed, He quickly rolled to his left, rising to his feet slowly. "Excellent. I'll have to be more careful with my attacks..I got a bit reckless, let's hope my mistake isn't a hard learn lesson.."

Shion cursed himself for being reckless with his attack, calming once more to engage again in a safer manner. He assumed his stance once more, circling Jidrabou, as he thoughts of his attack for a moment, stepping toward him raising his right knee into a feint kick to stir up his opponent to react to the false movement, creating the illusion of Shion aiming to send a high right kick toward his head, when in reality the kick was aimed toward his ankles, with a smooth left spin of shion's form to add the power necessary to forcefully sweep him off of he feet and end up floor as shion himself had once been, ending with shion once again facing his opponent

Jidrabou watched Shion move around him, cursing himself. Then he calmed himself and began to move in a quick style, his right knee ready for a kick as it glid through the air with twisting momentum from the rest of his body. If Jidrabou didn't think fast this kick was going to hurt a lot.
"Fool!" He shouted, spitting with an estranged smile.

Jidrabou put his right foot behind himself, bending his left knee, eyes on Shion. He extended his right hand out quickly and spread his fingers. The sand round his right foot burst away, clearing a circle as air forced down from his hand. He grunted and pulled his left ankle backwards. His knee bent fast, holding his foot tightly, he pushed forward with his right foot, keeping his hand angled towards the sand. The air forced him forward in a dash. As Shion moved his leg, Jidrabou sped towards his enemies' left knee, ducking his head down and getting ready to use his right shoulder to break the bone.

((You should watch what you react to o.o I'll point out I was able to cancel an attack and counter so easily:

stepping toward him raising his right knee into a feint kick to stir up his opponent to react to the false movement, creating the illusion of Shion aiming to send a high right kick toward his head, your attack stopped my own because the "Feint Kick" was to cause a reaction out of you. Hopefully I can do that. I'm not sure so I thought I'd explain it as I understood it. Hopefully its vaild.

Shion's feint had been a completely success as he saw he opponent react in a way he loosely predicted; though his full attack had been interrupted, he quickly lowered his fight foot to the ground, taking a step toward Jidrabou as he lifted his left leg from the ground and gently stomped it at Jidrabou's charging right shoulder, not to try and stop him, but to simple plant his left foot at his right shoulder blade simultaneously pushing off of his right foot and literally using the momentum against him as he sprung off of his back, hopping over Jidrabou's body completely, directing his charging force with his weight, to effectively knock him off balance and smash his face toward the ground. Landing behind him stumbling just a bit forward, but catching his balance quickly nonetheless.

"This time it was your reckless attack friend.." Shion chuckled Knowing that his unorthodox counter could have been turned against him at any moment.

Shion was quick in his movements, his obvious feint had meant to lure Jidrabou in, and what better way to trap someone than with their own trap. His opponent dropped his left foot onto Jidrabou's right shoulder to gain a leverage, allowing him to hop over the charging bull that was Jidrabou's own body. Just as he had anticipated, Shion was happy enough to move from the attack rather than take it and use it to his advantage,
"Reckless? That simply means you don't see it." He had moved a good few meters as he said those words, doubting Shion could even hear him. The wind was still carrying him, and then came the kicker.

Jidrabou angled his right palm directly to the sand, vertically over it. He then pulled his body up in an arc towards the sky, and with his left foot kicked the sand hard. A cloud burst from his feet and spread around as his body was fired into the air. He arced more in the air and was now upside down. He bent his right leg and held it back with his hand, he pushed the leg forward, but restrained it with force.

You hopped over me. As we can see from before the kick, I was using the wind to propel myself forward, in an attempt to hit your knee with my shoulder. When you hopped over me I kicked off the ground and pushed my self into the air a little. Going up I flipped to be upside down and see you, pulled back my leg, and waited for you to take your turn. ;p

Jidrabou smirked at the remark, but quickly wiped the smirk off of his face. His hand ached from holding his leg back, but he was hiding the restraint well, making it appear as if it was simply bent, and his hand resting on it.
Shion moved and threw his fist powerfully to Jidrabou's chest, it was unexpected but he had little time to think. He let go of his leg and it snapped forward with huge power, towards Shion's right shoulder. Just as this was happening, Jidrabou took the blow to the chest and coughed as it hit the bone, he grabbed the fist to stop himself moving, making sure he would connect his kick.
