These are dark times for the Republic. In 3,963 BBY, the Mandalorian Invasion began, cutting a bloody swath through Republic Space, conquering the key worlds of Onderon, Taris, and Vanquo. The Galactic Senate has retaliated with the entire Republic fleet, but their aid may be too late, as the Mandalorians have conquered many more worlds, and have even destroyed the worlds of Serroco, Duro, and Eres III with fusion bombs. However, not all is lost, as the forces of the Jedi Revan have come to the Republic’s aid, and might just turn the tide of battle against the Mandalorians.

The year is 3,962 BBY. Republic and Mandalorian forces are fighting over the Outer Rim planet Theta. The world has a very wet, hot, and uncomfortable climate and large, dark gray thunderclouds can almost always be seen on the horizon, if not directly above. In the coastal regions there are many tropical storms and hurricanes with many tropical islands dotted throughout the blue waters.

Roughly the size of Earth, the landscape of Theta is somewhat of a constant everywhere you go. Mainly consisting of jungles, mountains, and valleys. Due to the very wet climate of the planet, many rivers, lakes, ponds, and streams cover the land. The planet has no means of modern civilization. The few Republic Survey teams that actually monitored the planet found no sign of life at all aside from the wild animals that inhabit the jungles.

So, what side will you fight for? The benevolent and democratic government of the Galactic Republic, or perhaps the zealous Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders?

This is a more serious Star Wars RP, as in not everyone gets to be a Jedi. Standard forum rules apply and hopefully everyone will follow those rules to create a fun environment for all. One, one, and only one player may be a Jedi, and you will be a young Jedi Knight at that. I would prefer if someone who was well versed in Star Wars mythos to take that role if they want to. Also, there may be one other Force sensitive player on the Republic side, and again, I would prefer if someone who was well versed in Star Wars mythos to take that role.

Bio/History:
A veteran of the Great Sith War, Vicar was one of many Mandalorians discontent about how the Crusaders performed in the war: excellent at pillaging and destroying Republic installations, they were not nearly as efficient at exploiting their conquests. With the Crusader ethic focused on fighting the next battle, the War provided the Mandalorians with little time to exploit their gains: huge industrial complexes conquered remained idle rather than rearming them, and millions of potential recruits who might have been brought into the movement were not.

Ascribing this flaw to the lack of order arising from their nomadic lifestyle, a small group of enthusiasts calling themselves Neo-Crusaders took residence on the planet Mandalore. They adopted a rudimentary chain of command and division of labor, not found in the traditional culture. Many Mandalorians found this bizarre, but some took interest in the Neo-Crusaders. When the Mandalorians again began to raid nonaligned worlds, the Neo-Crusaders their share of battles due to their discipline.

Sensing an opportunity, Mandalore the Ultimate and his closest assistant Cassus Fett decided to encourage the movement. Cassus refined the former cult's organizational strategies for use on a larger scale. The Mandalorians who tested the Republic in the early skirmishes found that they had a distinct advantage with Neo-Crusaders as their vanguard. By the time the wider Mandalorian Wars with the Republic finally broke out, Neo-Crusaders were present in every unit, boosting morale and spreading the new ideals and discipline.

Bio/History: Leon was born and raised on a backwater world in the Outer Rim. His planet, Bsinj, was a quaint agricultural planet. Golden-brown fields covered much of the planet, being tended to and harvested by the small populace.

Then one day a Jedi arrived.

She was very nice, and very calm, and... Looking for something. Everyone in Leons town wanted her gone. "Jedi always have trouble nipping at their heels!" They'd say. Leon didn't think so, though. He and the Jedi girl, Aay'la Venn, formed a close friendship over the weeks of her stay. Then came the lights.

Bright lights flared across the sky. Leon was young, in his late teens, and he had never been told of such things. The evacuation alarms began to blare all around, and people ran in panic and terror. Most tried to escape the planet with what little ships they had. Most people couldn't afford anything that could make interstellar travel.

The "lights" were actually nuclear bombs. Mandalorian nuclear bombs, to be more specific. Laser fire flashed down from orbit, adding little destruction next to the genocidal results of the nukes. Leon found Aayla, trapped under rubble from a laser blast. In her last choked out words she left him her ship and everything within it, and told him to get off the planet and away from the Mandalorians.

He did as he was told, fleeing the planet with nothing of his home left except for his clothes. Tear stricken from grief, Leon jumped back to the previous jump point in the ships nav computers. He came out of hyperspace above a Republic world and, after being thoroughly interrogated about what happened from Republic authorities, he was released.

To exact his revenge on the Mandalorians, Leon joined with the Republic military. His actions in combat quickly rose him through the ranks, and finally he was offered a position in the Republic Special Operations and Infiltration Unit. Now ranked as Leutenant in an elite squad, Leon fights back against the Mandalorians.

Leon still owns Aayla's ship, but in his years of military service he has been unable to use it. The only item to remind him of his lost friend is the lightsaber that he now carries with him...

Force Sensitivity: Unknown to anybody, even Leon himself, is that Leon is one of the lucky individuals of the galaxy gifted with a sensitivity to the Force. He has no real powers, and has no control over what he can do with the Force. The only thing that happens with him is that he may get lucky with a difficult sniper shot every now and then, or a strong feeling in his gut will tell him to duck or hide when danger is near.

These periods of insight are usually short and far between.

Role/Rank: Bounty Hunter (Republic)

Clothing: Wears two crossing, golden bandoliers on his chest, over black-colored light armor. Also wears black, armored boots, and occasionally an Ubese mask to scare the children.

Weapons: Twin heavy blaster pistols, customized blaster rifle, lucky gaffi stick. He also occasionally brings a flamethrower with him on jobs, for close encounters.

Bio/History: Living as an adolescent moisture farmer on Concord Dawn, his family was constantly being stripped of not only their credits, but their dignity, on a daily basis. Credits made from their farming was regularly taken away by a local gang of inexperienced thugs. After one of the thugs hesitantly stabbed his mother with a vibro blade after she had tried to stop their weekly collection, Cyrus entered their hut, quickly grabbed a make-shift blaster rifle he had crafted himself from spare metal scraps, and shot down the gang member that had injured his mother. And the one that had pushed his father to the ground. And the one that had slapped him across the face. As well as the six others that tried to run.

21 years later, he's often found in the local cantina of whichever planet he happens to be contracted to be on, wasting away on boredom and jawa juice.

Bio/History:
Was born on the planet of Nolar in the capital of Nolari. With his planet on the far edges of the outer rim and of little importance to anyone, Hoot lived out the beginning of his life in peace. With nothing of importance happening in his childhood, at the age of 15, his real life truely began when he was able to stow away aboard a ship on its way to Taris. In Taris, Hoot joined one of the smaller swoop gangs known as the Silver Serpents. Though he only spent a year on Taris, in that time he learned a little on how to shoot a blaster and how to crash a swoop bike. When he had saved up enough money working for the Silver Serpents, he was able to purchase a ride to Carida to train at the Republic academy there. After 3 years of training at the Academy of Carida, he graduated early at the higher end of his class. At first being posted on Telos, but after a few months was sent to Theta...

Bio/History:
Brulic was born on the mandalorian world of Durge.It comprised of mostly barren and desert areas.As a trial of his clan you must venture in the great beyond (large desert) and survive with nothing for a month.He lived off the land and came into contact with the Dumotians which were a nomadic race and native to the planet.His clan would have killed them but they lived in the harsher area of the lands and thought it would be a nice add on to the ritual.

He missed most of the Great Sith War.But now wishes to represent his people and his clan in the upcoming battle with the republic forces.He is eager and headstrong when it comes to battle he cares nothing of risks,he lives for battle.This has lead him to defeats but many more victories and he had the scars of his mistakes to show for it.

Alright, well, I am very glad to see some turn out for this RP, it seems to be shaping up to be quite a good time. I have one person who may come in as our Jedi, but that slot is still open to any who want it. As of right now, all your profiles are great, if there are any issues, I've contacted you via PM. Also, it seems that Luke will be the leader of the Republic forces, I will obviously be leading the Mandalorians. I say this because he seems to be very knowledgeable about Star Wars, and he has the highest rank. If we get a Jedi, that person will take command of the Republic unless they don't want to. Let me know if there are any more questions.

We will hopefully get things going soon, I just want to hear back from those I have contacted and give a few more days for people to join. If there are no issues or delays, I'd like to open the IC thread on Friday night, let me know what you all think.

His eyes are Black in their iris and pupil, giving him a very intense look, even when he smiles. he has, unlike many warriors of his people, no tattoos on his Lekku, and his slight build all give him the appearance more common of female Twi'lek slave dancers, rather than that of a male Jedi Knight.

Bio/History: Born in a Healer clan on Ryloth, Talch'e was restless even as a very young child. He was found at the age of 2 by a visiting Caamasi Jedi known as Ershin Kla'kli and taken to the Jedi temple on Coruscant. He was raised as all Jedi were, and excelled as a Lightsaber duelist and fighter. He quickly excelled in the Ataru form and was very competent in Shien and Soresu. He was a Padawan under Master Losang Caldir, a human master from Corellia, and passed his trials only a few days before the outbreak of war. He joined Revan in his quest to aid the ailing Republic and assist the war effort. As he is one of the newest Jedi in the Order, and one of the youngest to join Revan, he has been assigned to the Republic Squad on Theta.

Ah, it would seem that the Force is with us now, thanks to Target! Ha ha ha ha...

Bio Born on Correlia to a rich merchant family, you might think that Tivian would grow up to be some sort of sword wielding, wit slinging noble. You'd be wrong. At the age of 7, his training to be of the upper-class was to be commenced, but it did not occur. Tivian had seen a trading ship crash down in a nearby area, and had been fundamentally changed by it. He found the explosion a thing of beauty, and endeavored to recreate it. He went out and bought a detpack from a black-market dealer (They'll sell stuff to anyone with enough money...), and ended up blowing a hole in the wall of his apartment. After several such incidents, he soon found himself enrolled in the Republic Academy, and joined the army at the appropriate age. His parents got rid of him to save face.

However, I have received word that our last two Republic players are leaving us. That leaves us with one Rep against three Mandalorians, not to mention that over half of the "original cast" is now gone. It would seem to me that the Fates simply do not want this RP to continue, so I am declaring it DOA. Sorry everyone, but things just aren't working out here. If someone else would like to take the original idea and do something with it, they may be my guest.
