As Dyans lay there on his bunk, staring at the blank white ceiling, he eventually drifted off to sleep. His dreams were many in that small elapsation of time, but only one he distinctly remembered when he awoke...
"TCK - 429645, do you copy?"
Dyans blinked, his vision in a wet haze.
"I repeat, TCK - 429645, do you copy?"
His vision began to clear, he saw his visor, not much besides that, just the canopy above him, he could see flecks of dirt flying around above him, a stray laser or two...
"TCK - 426945 come in! Dyans where the hell are you!?!"
Dyans then struggled to answer, but he couldn't, he was exhausted, so thirsty... he stuggled to sit up, he was so tired... Where am I? he asked himself.
"Leave him! He's dead!"
"No, he's alive! I know he's alive!"
"He's dead!"
"Here are his vital signs, I know he's alive!"
"We can't endanger the entire Battalion for one man, leave him!"
He could hear two voices arguing over the comm... about him, they were leaving! He could leave with them, he struggled to say, "I-i-'m here." His voice cracked and dry.
"Dyans, come on man!"
He then got to his feet and started to run in the direction he thought was the beach... the only place big enough for a ship to land. "W-h-w-h-here are you?..."
"Come on were on the beach, you have three minutes to get here! Come on!"
He started to run... there was artillerey and bolts flying, he was knocked over by the concussion of one,and he lay there for about thirty seconds, asking, "P-p-please! Don't l-l-leave me!"
"I'm not man... I wont! I'm your buddy, I'm your true freind I will never let you down, now come on!"
Dyans struggled to his feet and ran, he ran and ran. He finally made it to the beach. About eighty yards away lay the transport, engines ready to go.
"Come on! You have thirty seconds!" The ship then began to lift off, the ramp loading up.
He ran, lopsided, yelling, "No! No!" His armor, so stained with grass and mud, looked as a rebel to them, as they began to fir on him, he then took off his helmet, showing them that it was him. The ship began to lift off...
"Give me that comm!"
There then was much fumbling on the other side of the comm,
"Son, your sacrifice will not be in vain."
The ship then started to speed away, still firing at him. He picked up a large leaf, then waving it, yelling, "NO! NO! WHY ARE YOU LEAVING! I'M RIGHT HERE! WHY!?! WHY?!? NO!" then as Rebels came out of the trees they surrouned him, as he watched the ship speed out of the atmosphere. He began to cry, he looked at the beautiful beach, then at the men and women around him, and he asked through sobs, "Why? Why did they leave?..."
He then jarred awake, discovering that he had been crying in his sleep. Nightmares... he thought to himself as he made his way to the mess hall, stumach growling.
