Ok...thanks, I think I get it. My character will just ride beside or within the caravan on horseback, and I'll try to interact again.

You're not the only one with a horse, and even if you were; most of our group now is Karl's men. And a good deal of those are on horseback... I have prepared a suprise for when you're all in the caravan and we arrive to the next place.

Yay surprises! *claps hands excitedly*

Blech. This is getting migrane-inducingly hard to follow. Too many people. I'm going to bow out, I think.
An ended life, where steel draws blood,
At the end of strife, the crimson flood
Roll the bones, let Fate decide,
Whether it be courage or suicide.

Dammit, Steve. Can't you just make an attack roll like a normal person for once?

Well the posting has slowed down considerably. If you need a nudge in the right direction or a summary, the OOC is here for that. Do keep that in mind before you reach a decision (you said you think, if it's definite, say so.) It's good in a way to have a cluttered prologue, the way I'm going with this, it could well branch out into a multi-thread roleplay.

Oh yeah, I wanted to ask you something about that, Saf. I was thinking about how you wanted this to be a multi-thread thing, and I have an idea for one =D

If you would permit, and if it fits into your plans for the grand scheme of things, I was thinking of making a roleplay based in this world that you have created. The general plot would be that Lucard, my mage/wizard person, is seeking out a Master of the Elements to teach him how to better control himself. The only thing is that this Master of the Elements happens to be an Elf.

Lucard and a small band of people, prefferably about 4, would have to journey through Mev'Tok on foot, since it is a rugged, mountainous area, and search for the hidden elves. There would be obstacles and tests set up by the elves, unbeknownst to the adventurers, to see if they are worthy to be allowed within the Elven lands.

I'm thinking like, fight this, or make it through this area, whatever. Plus, it's a good way to introduce Elves to the world...

The adventurers can be a few friends from this thread, or completely new people.

What do you think??
Everything changes...

It's perfect: for one, it's interesting. And for another, it embeds into my grand scheme like a puzzle piece. See, I meant to have ongoing campaigns in different continents and join up the bands for grand events. What you're suggesting may need a little tweaking so it doesn't end up an egofest for a single character; it'd end up likely as a magic-user campaign. I'd love to run with that general idea, though. I for one, would love to see Jessica live and gain some more depth by playing on a setting like that one.

Now let us rewind to the beginning... Now fast forward a tad. There. Our current place in the prologue: I'm waiting for strava to get his character in the caravan. If there's no post by tomorrow morning (gmt -8) I'll likely godmod us all into the caravan and get moving. It's vital to advancement we see a town pronto. Am I the only one this excited?

Wow, guys..

I know I asked for things to slow down a little, but Mercenaries has become somewhat of a ghost town...

If you haven't noticed, which I'm sure you have, my character Pandora/Jinx is secretly looking for her daughter in the midst of all of this.

So whatever direction I take my character in after the Prologue, I'd like to incorporate the search for her child into it as well. So like, say if I were to take up on the thread about Lucard's journey, I'd like to be able to add in the own afflictions of my character.

But we can cross that bridge when we get to it :)

@Eternity: Sure, we can fit that into the storyline nicely. I was considering cutting the prologue a tad shorter than expected in order to go for the actual story's development. Speaking of which, ideas like these are well appreciated for it!

@luke4215: I noticed. Hopefully everyone else will after a prompt PM, particulary those who don't post in a few days. I'll be a tad busier starting tomorrow, so I've looked into (read on please...)

@Everyone: An assistant GM! That's right, I'm looking for somebody who could send reminders of activity when somebody goes inactive. Hopefully one of you will step up to the plate. It's really just that, accepting characters and law enforcement I can still take care of, you'd just need to patrol for activity.

If interested, please send me a PM - if there are none by saturday this week, I'll be sending a message offering the position to somebody.

Regarding storyline development, however, future ideas may be sent by PM if not about the prologue. We'll start official planning when we finish the current IC.

Guys, post. Seriously. I need the crowd acknowleged before we can proceed, lest you want me godmodding you all again... Which I will if there are no posts (from those yet to step out) in about 20 hours.

Name: Reverend Andrew Blaise "Rockfeld" Roanoake, Yulerian Sect and Cultist
Age: 29
Place of birth: Rela Siel, a Holy City supposedly venerated by his Holy Father the King for the miracle of the Groves. It was told that it was here, Saint Yuleri, leading her exiled people to safety, prayed to God and struck a well with a stave. The Fountain, hidden behind the Scarlet veil within the Inner Sanctum of the Grand Istavan Cathedral still draws pilgrims from all over Nath, hoping to cleanse their sins with the very waters that satisfied it's People. The Sect of Yuleri, one of the biggest branch-offs (And most conservative, mind you) in Rela Siel, calls Rela Siel their headquarters.
Appearance: [x]
Skilled in: Anything the Sect of Yuleri goes against: Drinking, Self-Pleasure and talking to women who did not keep their pact of Celibacy. Oh, and don't forget he's very, very presistant.
Fighting style: Unlike most snobby Clerics and overly-self righteous agents of Rela Siel, Andrew is not afraid to get dirty. In fact, he longs to witness the ruckus of the front lines. And to do this, he figured, he just had to fight with his own hands, making any skirmish a grizzly show of complete carnage.
Equipment:

Head Gear: Stiff Mahogany Beret of Defiance
Torso: Blessed Robe of the Preacher (Upper)
Lower Body: Blessed Robe of the Preacher (Lower)
Feet: Brown Leather Gardella Dress shoes of Haste
Accessory1: Silver Mark of Yuleri
Accessory2: Gilded Torso Paddings
Primary Weapon: Aggressive Knuckle Dusters of the Thug (Fist)
Secondary Weapon: Compact Leather-bound Prayer Book of Consecrated Healing (Throwing)

Biography: Orphans were always told that it was never their fault for their dirt-poor state of poverty. In fact, it was always taught that the 'Infidels from the East' was the very reason they were without parents, as absurd as it was: instead of telling the children of the Great Purge of dissent believers and peasants as well as the famine that came after the elimination of many peasants, it was told that their parents were brutally enslaved, raped and murdered in mass executions in concentration camps sponsored by the enemy. Yet, however hungry the young fledgling was, Andrew Roanoake was always the skeptical one: from selling Enchanting Dust (Opium) to coming home to the seminary drunk, Andrew had always done what the Yulerian sect had been against: this includes breaking of vows to humility and servitude and generally pursuing the 'needless' life of self pleasure. Why? Andrew had known much about the corruption within the Council of Ten, and how their exports of Slave-Prisoners across the nation of Nath had been relatively unknown within the state. What sickened him the most, however, was the large harems within the personal dwellings of the High Council members. How dare they speak of celibacy when they always come back home to please themselves with dozens of women forcibly taken as sex slaves? Instead of losing faith in Yuleri all together, he had made his own branch of the Mainstream religion: Protestarianism.

In essence, he was against everything they had stood for, and believed that only Faith and Prayer alone could save them. In effect, he established an Orphanage hidden well from the eyes of the Council of Ten, taking in orphans whom he had hoped, would be exempt from the corrupting doctrine of the council. Yet, in due time, his attempts failed when a Sister of the Yulerian order he was working with gave away his secret orphanage and sect. Faced with charges against heresy and death by crucifixion, had it not been for the awkward stuttering of the Primarch's words, he might have been some ordinary corpse dangling from a wooden post. He had grown to admire the young Primarch's words of humility and stuttering, calling him by the nickname of "Alesis" than with full honors. Alessandro never minded.

As he recieved news of his departure to the front, Andrew tried so hard to tell him of their schemes, yet as always, Alessandro believed in the goodness and infallibility of the Council of Ten. With a heavy sigh, Andrew willingly followed him to the battle field, hoping to protect the young bishop and to expose him to the atrocities abroad.

Personality: With his distasteful remarks and sarcastic attitude, it is hard to dig deeper into his heart, much like trying to scrape away at an iron barrier with a wooden spoon. His hypocritical and arrogant nature sticks out to most people whom regard him as an elitist and a sexist. In fact, anything that ends with a suffix "-ist" describes him best.

However, if one should persevere and endure his hypocrisy, one thing would most likely stick out: his undying devotion to the sick, his compassion and kindness towards children. It is well known that he dislikes the current state of the church and its recent state of affairs: how they would dismiss claims of indulgences some clergy members enjoy while the poor suffer with what little they have and still continue to give. Despite his sound reasoning, the loathing and punishment he received by challenging the Clergy caused him to develop a spiteful attitude and mistrust to everyone in general, particularly towards fellow Priests.

++++++++++++

Name: Blessed Alessandro Del Vittorio the XVIII, Bishop of Nantes and Future Lord-Warden of Leicester.
Age: 17
Place of birth: Rela Siel. His adoptive Father, Lord-Warden Trenton Del Vittorio, wishes for him to become a strong military leader to carry on the Vittorio name, yet his legacy as being the child of the Blessed Adelina Von Mohs, whom supposedly had given birth despite her purity, where today Alessandro's virgin birth gives him a high place within the shadow of the Grand Cardinal, whom despite his Machiavellian interests towards the child, still uses him as a symbol to unite the citizens of Rela Siel to support the Holy Father the King's decision for a Holy War.
Apperance: [x] , only a little more shy and awkward.
Skilled in: Being a completely naive coward, rallying his Allies through prayer and religious sanction (Wherever that gets anyone)
Fighting style: Despite his somewhat shut-out brilliance and devotion to Saint Yuleri and the Gods, Alessandro's affinity for Holiness and the Light is somewhat underestimated, sometimes to dangerous degrees. Apparently, the most powerful of Holy Magics reside within the most humble and righteous.
Equipment:

Head Gear: Consecrated Silk Mitre of Equillibrium
Torso: Blessed Papal-sanctioned Mozzetta (Upper)
Lower Body: Blessed Papal-sanctioned Mozzetta (Lower)
Feet: Artisan's Silk Shoes of Wind-walking
Accessory1: Consecrated Silk Gloves of Righteousness
Accessory2: Venerated Gold Ring of the Virgin's Blood
Weapon: Thrice-Blessed Consecrated Golden Cross of Rela Siel (Stave)

Biography: A man loved a Woman, a Child was born, right? Not exactly. Well, at Alessandro's case, that is. Son of the now venerated 167th Vanguard of Rela Siel, the Blessed Adelina Von Mohs had reported a Virgin Birth after she had prayed to the Saint-Patron of Rela Siel, Yuleri the Disciple of Victory. Even now, Alessandro is typically portrayed as a child of a miracle, the offspring of Saints considered to be pure, just and compassionate. While the latter is true to some extent, the more political minded Clergy of Rela Siel was a bit dissapointed at the Son of a Venerated Saint: where peasants were, he found peace. He could see miracles in Wagon wheels, Dirt roads and Bugs in the field. He openly speaks (Despite stuttering many times) out against War and the atrocities that came with it. Figuring out a way to control Rela Siel's 'Star of Hope', the clergy voted unanimously to split the ruling office into two parties: the Ruling Exarch and the Primarch of the Faithful. Alessandro led the state in prayer and fast, yet diplomatic ties that ultimately moved the state was made by the Council of 10, composed of Chief Clerics and Archbishops whose minds are set only towards War and Profit.

Despite this, the puppet ruler fared well. Many saw the Humble and Nervous young Bishop to be a symbol of hope and compassion, his honesty, modesty and stuttering humility earned him a great following. Which seemed to be a danger to the Council of Ten. Convinced of his duty to 'spread the grace of Yuleri to the Unclean abroad' , Alessandro had set off from his home state of Rela Siel, joining the front to supposedly 'boost the morale of the Combatants' despite the fact he did not know of the atrocities ahead of him...

Personality: The fact that he stutters even at the age of 17 did not reinforce his position as the Primarch of Faith. He is highly ligyrophobic (Afraid of Loud noises) and cannot handle shouting, especially when it is directed towards him. With this, he is easily bullied by the Higher Ranking Clergy members, treating him more of as a child unable to make his own choices. Despite his holding the Next highest position in the Council of Ten, Alessandro is a puppet ruler who feels unable to make decisions on his own, usually deferring to the Grand Cardinal or the other Clergy members in important matters. Alessandro is very fearful and would flock at the slightest hint of threat, even passing out from panic whenever he gets injured.

Commanding Bonus: Infallible Dogma Using the teachings of Olden Gods, his status as the Shining Star of Rela Siel and his meekness, Alessandro provides a passive increase in his allies' rejuvenation rate and increases Endurance when placed in command. Also provides a set of Bonuses for each specification. Only 1 affinity can be used at a time.

    - Prayer: Urges his allies to rely on Faith and perseverance in the heat of battle. Increases the effectiveness of Support or Healing Magics cast onto the forces he controls and Increases Morale. Allows the use of the Ultimate skill 'Hands of Asclepius'.

    - Holy: Alessandro prays to the Gods for divine protection, to shield his Allies against and to ask for courage to lead his Soldiers. Increases Defense and provides resistance against Dark, Unholy or Demonic Magics. Allows the use of the Ultimate skill 'Manifest Guardian Angel'.

    - Radicalism: Contrary his ever lasting compassion, Alessandro speaks words that ignite his allies' hatred and pride against an enemy that supposedly stood against the Gods and their servant, the Holy Emperor of Nath. Increases the strength of Offensive attack and Magics at the cost of lowered Defense. Allows the use of the Ultimate skill 'Sanction Crusade'

Field Bonus: Spiritualism Possessing an Innate affinity attuned to the Light, Alessandro inspires his allies with the Powerful healing words of the Liturgy. Innately improves his allies' stamina regeneration.

Skills:

Healing Hands: Alessandro lays his hands upon the injured, healing them for a moderate amount of Health over time.

Purify: Alessandro filters a target clean of all aspects of negative energies, purifying sickness or ailments. Cannot be used outside of Battle or on Story-related Illnesses.

Revitalize:
Using an ancient canticle, Alessandro blesses a single target to heal a Significant amount of Health and removes Negative Buffs or Ailments. Alternatively, Alessandro blesses all his allies, healing a minor amount of health and increases Health Regeneration rate. Cannot be used unless Alessandro is using the Prayer command affinity.

Hands of Asclepius: At the midst of battle, Alessandro prays desperately to the Gods above him, praying for a miracle that would occur. And indeed one would happen. Instills in each ally within a large area a powerful healing will that rejuvenates his allies greatly and purifies all Negative Buffs and Status ailments. Any character that is severely injured or is dying heals at an even faster rate. Renders his allies Immune to Dark, Unholy or Demonic Magics and their effects for a short period of time. Cannot be used unless Alessandro is using the Prayer command affinity.

Kyrie Eleison: Using gentle yet complex words of an ancient language learned only by the clergy, Alessandro enchants his target with a shielding force that blocks Major damage from NPC units and Minor damage from Player controlled characters. Also increases the healing rate of the target for a short time.

Inner Faith: Unlocks the penitent's hidden potential, increasing Defense and Offensive capabilities at the expense of receiving more damage from Holy or Light based Magics. Increases the duration of all Buffs cast before this skill, yet any Buffs cast onto a Unit enchanted with Inner Faith is automatically dispelled.

Manifest Vengeance: Alessandro prays to Madfa, the Goddess of Blind Vengeance, who had avenged her slain followers after exacting 6,000 years of unending torment to their murderers. Creates a powerful warding shield around the target, guarded by an apparition of Madfa. The Apparition counters each Melee attack with a powerful cleaving attack. The Apparition deals more damage if the target is attacked from behind or is attacked when asleep. Cannot be used unless Alessandro is using the Holy command affinity.

Manifest Guardian Angel: Even at a time of despair, Alessandro prays for victory in the name of Saint Yuleri, the Angel of Victory who leads the righteous to victory against the forces of Darkness. Creates a manifestation of one's guardian angel, taking the form of a Golden Knight that hovers above every allied character within a large radius. The Guardian angel counters with a devastating cleaving attack when their designated character is attacked in melee range. The Guardian Angel has a chance to block out Spells cast against the designated character, burning twice the amount of Mana spent for the Spell that was blocked. At the end of it's 2-post duration, the Guardian Angel exits with a burst of Holy Light, healing a minor amount of Health to all allies and dealing a Minor amount of damage to all enemies around it. The Amount of Health received stacks with other characters and their guardian Angels. Cannot be used unless Alessandro is using the Holy command affinity.

Indoctrinate: On a daily basis, Alessandro preaches to his allies the words of a merciful and Kind Emperor who had brought splendor and grace to his nation of Nath. On the battlefield, however, he radicalizes his allies by reading the 'Verse of the March' and the 'Canticle of the Sword', controversial and bloody memoirs of the Holy King and how he believed should soldiers treat the enemy. Passively increases Attack Power if Alessandro's command dogma is set to Radicalism. On the battlefield, Alessandro loses his ability to attack to boost his allies' morale as he reads from the Scriptures to empower his allies with hatred and nationalistic frenzy.

Nationalism: Taken from the words of the Holy King himself, Alessandro rekindles within his allies' hearts the infallible admiration to the Holy King of Nath, empowering his enemies with immense nationalism. Provides an attack boost that is variable to the number of troops on the battlefield along their side. When the army is at more than 70% of it's original strike force, all allied units are invulnerable to Morale-based damage. However, Soldier NPCs will automatically lose hope at the face of their fallen comrades and enter immediate panic when the troop count is at 30% of the starting force or Less.

Martyr's Reckoning:
Before battle, Alessandro 'claims' that the very murder of their enemies to be justified and all that would fall would enter into the very same paradise that their Holy King had promised them. Those entranced by his words gain increased Physical or Magical damage the more wounds each person sustains. When the number of soldiers in the battlefield reach lower than 50% of the original count, those enchanted by his persuasive words become temporarily immune to Morale damage or Mind-based ailements. This, however, sponsors the act of murder, genocide, looting and rape against prisoners of war or Civillians. Cannot be used unless Alessandro is using the Radicalism command affinity.

Sanction Crusade: Alessandro, drawing forth from the people of Nath's admiration of the Holy King and their belief in his infallible word, supposedly sanctions a Genocide justified by their Holy King. Those whom agree with him gain an immense Physical and Magical Damage boost, giving each person affected by the Buff a chance to deal a 'cruel blow', dealing 50% extra damage within one attack at a low chance. All units are immune to Morale damage. However, the brutality instilled within each soldier, convinced of their actions to be justified by the Holy King, go on a little too far to accomplish nothing short of complete Genocide: massacres against civillians, brutal and unforgiving executions to enemy captives, rape-murder orgies committed against women and children are nothing short of the means to 'accomplish' the Holy King's orders.

In the process of them taking the caravan did these "men" also remove me from my horse and take it too?
Just wondering. :p

@ Traziel: I left that up to your pick, feel free to enter the building with a horse (as nonsensical as it may be), leave it at the entrance, have it stolen, have it parked magically in the basement... Your call :O.

@ Giygas: Waiting on that profile to be finished, but it looks good as of now.

@ Everyone :O: I would like to announce, that after thoughtful consideration, I've looked at every PM regarding the position for assistant GM (who am I kidding? One PM. Seriously. Meh...) and a person was accepted into said position; he will be my right-hand when it comes to ensuring activity flows in the game. Drumroll, please.

*Improvised jazz scatting, elevator background music*

*A gorgeous lady in her mid 20s arrives in a long dress with an envelope*

Thank-you... Here we have... luke4215! A round of applause, please, for our assistant GM! *Confetti*

In other matters, we are about halfway through the prologue, which is good and great. The people I PMed due to lack of activity have yet to reply (and I am considering a conversion to npc or other) and your ideas for campaigns in the actual storyline are being received now! PM me with them. Now. At the moment, the only surefire will be Lucard's search for an element master/Jinx looking for her child. I'll likely take care of another one in either Nath or Rweng.

That is all for now, thank-you. *Puts down microphone*

Safisan, the Profile for Alessandro is complete. I am thinking of taking it easy with Andrew Roanoake's profile. He's just some whisky priest guardian for him and what not.

And sooner or later, Alessandro would have to use his radicalism Spec. Oh how sad he would be when he sees the pile of dead for that day...

Giygas, I think your profile is that of Dungeons & Dragons. Great job on the detail and on the skills!

And that was meant as a compliment, incase you get any other impressions from that

@ Giygas: Accepted, but as was said, it sounds more like a character for a session of D&D than a roleplay. I'd appreciate you make little emphasis on attributes and variables (read: equipment and conditions for spells) during the game; it's really based more on your own criteria than a set system. By the way, if you're going to keep something blank for a less detailed character, delete it from the profile, okay? Make way to the IC now ^^.

Andrew Blaise Roanoake's profile is complete. And the part 'Rockfeld' is an alteration on his last name on two things: one, it sounds cool. And two, he feels he is unable to wear the name given to him by the Clergy after what he had witnessed a long time ago. He tries to convince people that Rockfeld is his true name.

And in accordance to your word, I won't list any skills for him. He's just any other brawler who uses his Book (Nicknamed The Throwing Bible) as a ranged attack at some times. Think of it like a holy boomerang the size of a Novel.

Okey-doke, you'll want to read the third page of the IC at least; it indicates just how we got to Alt-Neh. Any questions, comments, suggestions, etcetera, may be presented here. Run along now, child, the prologue awaits.

Name: Leon De'Monte; Sir, Lord, Nobleman, Knight (Each followed by his family surname)

Age: 27

Place of birth: Silia, the bustling town of Port Kreed (pronounced like Creed).

Port Kreed is a medium sized town with a bustling population due to the many ships that come and go. Carge comes in, cargo goes out, and there are plenty of jobs for the hardworking men of Port Kreed. The town was mostly made of gray stone, giving it a sense of a high-class town. Ships are almost always filling up the harbor, and the cold air is almost always dropping large flakes of snow into the stone streets...

Apperance: Leon is the perfect picture of the perfect son. Tall; around six foot three. Handsome, muscular, long, wavy black hair. His blue eyes are like sapphires, his teeth white like the snow of his hometown...

Being born in and spending most of his time in a practically frozen town naturally made Leon bigger and more durable. His muscles are big and cut, though not so large as to look like a savage. His straight nose, firm lips, and strong chin give him a very handsome face. His hair falls in length to the top of his neck, black and wavy.

Skilled in: In being a Knight, Leon is generally skilled in all types of weapons. From bows to swords, he knows them all. His real preference in combat, however, is for blades. He chooses this as his main area of expertise due to his families one and only treasure: The large, two-handed sword made for the High Lord De'Monte in the days of old.

Fighting style: Leon is a man who can brawl with the best of them. His training in Knighthood has granted him the ability to experience and train with almost every type of weapon. Spears, Polearms, Pykes, Bows, Crossbows, Swords, Daggers, Axes. Anything that can be physically used as a weapon. This "Jack-of-all-Trades" style of weapon preference gives him the ability to adapt to any situation, often-times finding a makeshift weapon nearby...

Equipment: He carries on him almost a full set of armor. He has pauldrons (shoulders), Gauntlets, Cuirass, Grieves, and Boots.

All of his armor is made of steel platemail, the steel slightly darkened from it's often silver hue, with a chainmail underlay of each piece of armor, excluding the pauldrons and boots. The boots have in them thick, cushioned leather for comfort to the wearer. Around each piece of armor is a fine and intricate trim of dark purple stained metal.

Draping from his shoulders and reaching down to the ground is a very lush and luxurious purple cape. This dark purple cape seems to be a little battle-worn, but for the most part kept in good condition.

Strapped to his back is a sheath containing the large De'Monte family sword. The sheath and sword lays under the forementioned cape, the hilt of the sword sticking above the cape so that Leon can easily pull it into a battle position.

The sword itself is somewhat less extravagant than the rest of his equipment. A long, sharp blade extends out from a beautifully crafted handle. The handle is wrapped in comfortable to hold leather, stained dark purple, and in the bottom of the hilt is a beautiful Amethyst gem.

Notes: The older brother of Lucard De'Monte. Granted title of Lord De'Monte upon recieving De'Monte Manor, his family's large castle and surrounding lands.

P.S. If anyone has ever read the DragonLance series, kind of think of his armor as kind of like Sturms. Not how it looks, but it's ceremonial purposes and how it shows his rank

P.S.S. The reason for all of the purple is because that is the De'Monte family color, in case you couldn't tell.

@ luke4215: Okay, Lucard's older brother is accepted! There's something I'd like to discuss with you on the Mev'Tok campaign, and the others if you'd be willing. Expect a PM soon, mate.

@ The lot of us: And as if you all wanted to hear it... Post. The plot needs you to. Nobody's replied to my PMs (nobody being Iced Fire, archangel and strava) and I'm afraid those characters will go ignored for the time being, please avoid interaction with them; the guys better have a decent reason for this unexpected (and unmentioned) leave.
