((IC is here: http://www.roleplaygateway.com/viewtopic.php?f=102&t=21161 No in character posts until you have an accepted skeleton, though! There has been a change in the rules as of april 27th, go read it if you haven't! A second change as of april 29th, again, go read it.))

The Story

The year is nothing to care for, though those keeping count will say it's been 415 years since the coming of a Holy King. We find ourselves in a vast world, one rich in lands, in culture, in battle. Focusing on Sayn Isle, an island on the southwestern area of the map: unknown to most, it is a piece of Heaven carved by the angels, as the rumors say. Those who do know of it, they live a fine, peaceful life. From the harvest, to the smiths, all the way to the sorcerers and mages. Little did they know, their corner of the world, their home, would be stricken down by a cold, greedy king on a far continent to the west.

This Holy King calls forth arms with 'religious innovation' as an excuse. They're told to take ships, take gold and take lives if they must. Their intent is nothing short of merciless, and now, established at the shores of Sayn, the troops arrange, attempting to summon last minute troops. That, that is where the rest come in... Mercenaries: filthy, traitorous, backstabbing sellswords with no reason but money. Western land's Holy King orders they be hired and taken as more soldiers to colonize the land. Whatever their own purpose, their background, their beliefs, the promise of a big job makes most whimper in glorious awe. Here, their beginning will be written, what will you write?

Rules

- I thought this one wouldn't be necessary: but ready everyone's posts! It's in the IC that the entire story is made; what are you doing skipping it? How can you react if you don't know what's going on? Exactly, you can't. So, read the posts before yours and reply accordingly-- Confusion? Here's the OOC, go ahead and ask.

- The next addition to the previous rule set: NO SPEED POSTING. A few members have complained of those posting too quickly, which at the same time, is forcing me to draw the plot forward. This is a game for both rookies and more experienced roleplayers to enjoy, let's keep it that way. The post minimum will be kept at six sentences, but may be raised if the problem persists. What do I mean by no speed posting? Wait a few posts before going at it again, you'll be more detailed, have more to reply to and overall just heighten your quality.

Player A posts
Player B posts
*At this point, Player A is to wait for another poster.*

If you need to put up a conversation, or something where you'd interact more with a player, have it over PMs or IM and post it on the IC thread after telling us you have permission from the other player in the OOC.

- Above all, dedication. I don't expect you to pour your life into a roleplay, merely to remain loyal to it for its duration, which, as said before, will be well into more than one game.

- Next up is your posting: posts should be at least one every few days (if you can post daily however, do so) and must reach the bare limit of six sentences. Those having trouble meeting the post limit may send me a PM and I'll do what I can to help, so not knowing how to roleplay isn't an impediment.

- It's assumed you know etiquette - stay true to that assumption! Godmodding, Mary Sues, powerplayers, inactivity, text talk are all things that can and will ruin a good game, please avoid them as well as the others gone unmentioned.

- Swearing? As the rules say, as long as it isn't distasteful or excessively vulgar. Which, to my criteria means you may do so if you don't overdo it.

- More mature scenes may present themselves at a time (a band can only grow together so much without falling in love) so you should know by now those are taken to PMs.

- If you must leave the roleplay (hopefully it's only a temporary, as I've asked for dedication previously) please tell me via PM or post it in here.

- Check (and use) the OOC often, while the plot is clear, subplots may be discussed in here, as well as npcs and enemies.

- The rules are subject to change, and though major changes will be announced in this thread, I expect you to read them every once in a while.
The World

I must note the entire world will not be used for this roleplay, but rather for the future ones, as such, details will be scarce. Feel free to elaborate on a part of a land during your skeleton (the village, a town, maybe an island here or there.) Focus for now will be placed on the western lands and Sayn Isle, moreso on the latter.

Mev'Tok (pronounced mehv-tak): a merchant continent on the east. Template climate and woods make most of the place, rumored to exist on a far southern side is a huge tree. Magical, it houses the entire elven race within it, so they say.

Silia: cold, grand and a beauty to behold. Despite the frostbite you'll get from visiting, the icelands at the north are quite the thing: unique weaponry, technological innovations and experimental fighting styles. Deep within caverns, forbidden to the people, are said to be dwarves.

Nath: the kingdom who's ordered the assault. Ruthless, though it has a history of excelling military leaders. It is the biggest of the four known continents, housing a monopoly on soldiers. It's a frequent place for mercenaries, some even settle down here. The people's whispers speak of orcs' wandering on ocassion.

Rweng: warm, sunny, humid; Rweng is pretty much a modern day suite turned outdoorsy and made a whole continent. Those here live pleasent lives, taking little interest in outside affairs and more in their own: magic. From a bishop's faith healing to a witch's cursing. It's been said such magical concentration attracts angry giants...

FAQ

Not really, these are just questions that may arise before the beginning of the roleplay, or even before making your sheet.

- So what do we do here?
You're part of the mercenaries hired by Nath's Holy King. The mission is to colonize Sayn Isle, though in your case, it'll just be ransacking and taking down authorities.

- What's a Holy King?

The maximum authority, a single one resides in each continent at the time.

- How's the technology?
This is mostly a fantasy roleplay. There are ships, pulley systems but nothing that runs on steam or fuel. Of course, if something like this is required, there will likely be a magical version of the item.

- And the demography?

Think... 100,000 people on the smaller continents or so, though they're well connected. The largest would likely hold around half a million. As for races, if you hadn't noticed I made it somewhat like earth in that sense:

Mev'Tok would be Asia, so lighter body frames and long blades. No ninjas, mind you.

Silia is Europe and a portion of Asia, brown hair, blue eyes are all the norm here.

Nath would be more like America, with a wide population and varying races.

Rweng is the equivalent of south Africa and south America, so darker skin tones and a simple lifestyle for most.

Note these are comparisons! This isn't earth!

- You hinted at fantasy races species. May I play as one?
Not for now, sorry. I'll only allow humans during the prologue.

- What should I do in the team?
Anything you like! You don't even have to use a fighter! Maybe you're a knight of Nath as an official soldier, or a thief coming from Mev'Tok to acquire riches. Heck, maybe you're a merchant and don't know anything outside of your bartering and knife.

- How's magic work here?
Spells are cast by either incantation, a staff/wand movement or hand movement. The type of magic will vary, but it's not the whole 'Name, ara, aga' thing Final Fantasy has going on. Bishops don't just heal, they may use holy elemental attacks and summon familiars. The consensus is you may have both offensive and passive magic, but keep a theme to it; from water to darker, more evil spells.

- Can I play someone fighting against the mercenaries?
I'm afraid not, you may however, use npcs. I'll take care of most of the army and the opposing troops. Note however, you may suggest a fight (a subplot, or just let us know your ideas) in this very thread.

Name: Randolf Campbell
Age: 29
Place of birth: Abroath, Silia. A small barony in the far northern reaches of the nation. Its inhabitants are renowned for their stoic natures as well as their incredible tolerance for alcohol and horrible bagpipe music.

Appearance: Randolf, like most Abroathans, is tall and very red. Hair the color of ripe apples stands in a bristly shock, matched by a wild beard that hides most of his face. A ruddy face, a mean glint in his blue eyes, and burly arms work with the hair to give the impression of a man who could bounce a half-dozen angry drunks on their heads without much trouble.

Skilled in: Unarmed combat, Improvised Weapons, Traditional Abroath song & music, drinking games, drinking in general
Fighting style: Randolf learned magic from a practitioner of the Storm Hand fighting style, native to Mev'Tok. Master Kina was suitably impressed by Randolf's boxing skills to teach him the principles of the Storm Hand, which largly consist of charging the practitioner's body with fire and lightning before striking an opponent, and the occasional short-range blast projected out and away from the body. Randolf has adopted the kicks and joint locks of the style while keeping the bare-handed punches and throws of traditional Abroathan boxing.

Equipment: The only armor Randolf wears is a cuirass of very tough, boiled leather. It is too thick to be from a cow, and Randolf never gives the same answer twice when questioned about where he got it, so the actual origins are unclear. Thick clothing covers the other vital spots, doing a bit to absorb blows, but he relies more on maneuverability and drunken weaving to avoid blows. A few knives, a small hatchet, a tent and bedroll make up the majority of his pack, but hidden at the very bottom is a small keg, filled with a rare brew: an esoteric blend of whiskey, aged scotch, and a kind of alcohol brewed only by the Staggering Monks of the Abrothan Highlands. The drink is supposedly strong enough to render the gods unconscious with the fumes alone, hence the name "the Staggering Monks" for its creators. A set of bagpipes serves well as a psycological weapon as well as a means of annoying everyone within a quarter mile, and a set of dice, a pack of old sturdy cards, and a pair of steel beer mugs makes him popular in taverns. His money is kept in a leather bag stowed inside his shirt where thieves can't reach it, or aren't willing to.

Notes: Randolf is strong, quick, and suprisingly crafty, though not intellegent by the standard definition. The same magic that wraps his hands in fire and lighting allows him to hit extraordinarily hard, making his fists and feet as potent in a battle as the battleaxes and swords favored by professional soldiers. He can spew fire over short distances, though this may be aided by his nearly-permenant state of intoxication. He has yet to show other talents for fire and lighting-based magic, though given how quickly he mastered what he knows already, the possibilities are impressive.
Notes about you:
An ended life, where steel draws blood,
At the end of strife, the crimson flood
Roll the bones, let Fate decide,
Whether it be courage or suicide.

Dammit, Steve. Can't you just make an attack roll like a normal person for once?

I like it. You're accepted! Here be my own characters.

Name: Jessica Ivot

Age: 20

Place of birth: Mev'Tok, a village named Theel. While known only for witty merchants and quick-to-think thieves, Jessica's a bit of an exception to both.

Apperance: about 5'6 with a lean body type. Though body fat focus is around the entire body, she hardly has any so it gives off an even smaller appearance. Her skin color's about a 12 on the Von Luschan scale. Pitch black hair, kept in a pony tail with even bangs covering her forehead and eyebrows. Dark brown eyes, the rest of her facial features are small, pointy at the nose and faded at the lips. Jessica wears a red skirt with simple, gold patterns, along with a long sleeved white shirt.

Skilled in: strategizing in general and a hint of magic.

Fighting style: after suggesting an attack pattern, she'll attempt to take proper terrain and cast magic from there. On physical encounters, Jessica will likely dodge and flee when made possible, unless casting isn't limited. Her magic centers around water: be it mist, controlling water, freezing it over, aiding wound regeneration or even summoning familiars. Note her spells' casting methods vary, for the most part they require hand movements though.

Equipment: a cape with a hood, black with a pattern that matches the skirt's. Her tent, clothing and books on magic are carried by Alfonse (read on down, there's two profiles.) but some scrolls, a jar of ink (its corresponding pen, too) and few medical supplies are in a leather bag strapped across her torso.

Notes: smarter than your average 20 year old, and more agile than most, too. Physically, as most mages, she is frail.

Notes about you: yes there is info. I shall be busy on fridays and may only post in a 1 hour time frame or very late at night. Weekdays mean school but that's not much of a problem.

Name: "You're dragging us down, can't that thing move faster?!" Is a common 'nickname' granted by Jessica. His name's Alfonse Bart though.

Age: 42

Place of birth: Mev'Tok, the village of Theel. Alfonse is one of the many merchants that thrived in the loud, monetary-centered environment the east continent offered.

Apperance: 5'8, a 15 on the the Von Luschan scale. His hair is kept short, with spikes leaning forward at the top. It's dark brown and straight when not covered in grime. Facial hair is kept as stubble. Hazel at the eyes and rather rugged on other features, a bent nose, chiseled jaw and chapped lips.

Skilled in: cooking, riding, arranging, taking insults, and anything else he'd need to put up with constant different mercernaries.

Fighting style: "That girl failed to plan correctly again, run for the hills!" - that sums it up rather well. Alfonse will stay in his caravan during attacks, only emerging if Jessica's plan didn't include guarding their things. In which case, it means drawing a crossbow and praying to the Gods. The caravan is made of a thick iron sheets, pulled by a horse (and yours truly), lastly, the wheels are made of stone. At the front, there's a little cabin for two, though it's usually just him riding.

Equipment: anything people dump in there. Surefire stuff is Jessica's book collection, tent and clothing. His own clothes, food supplies and previously mentioned crossbow are there, along with a pair of unused bolt (ammo) racks. During the night, the whip used on the horse is also there.

Notes: well, he's usually riding a horse. If the battle goes smoothly, Alfonse may pop out and shoot a few bolts.

Notes about you: said in the previous profile.

Name: Lucard De'Monte; Official Title: Junior Elementalist De'Monte; Other Titles: Junior Wizard, Magi, Elementalist, Apprentice, Wizard-in-Training.

Age: 24

Place of birth: Mev'Tok; The Village of Sijin Doul.

The village is relatively unknown, best described as peaceful. It rests at the base of a mountain, tall tree's keeping the village in shade for most of the day. A large stream, not big enough to be named a river, but still big enough to be placed on a map, runs beside the village.

Apperance: Being from the lands of Mev'Tok, Lucard isn't a very large person. He is often picked on by those who are bigger than him. The ones who have bulging muscles, large swords, and minimul brain capacity. Don't let his small muscle stature disillusion you; his magical capacity is more than enough to compensate.

Lucards face is nothing special. He has handsome facial features: A nice jaw line, thin lips, a straight nose, and emerald green eyes. He has medium length brown hair that falls over his ears and in front of his eyes, though often brushed to the side so that he can see.

He stands at 5'11", his body slim and lean. What muscle structure that he does have is cut and lean, giving his body a handsome build to those who prefer other than the large, muscular brutes that seem to inhabit more of the world today.

His usually attire consists of a mixture of clothes and light leathers. The clothes are usually blue, to symbolize his status as an Elemental, or Red, to symbolize his status as a Red Mage (One who is with neither Black or White magics).

Skilled in: Elemental Magics, such as Fire, Earth, Wind, and Water. Although he is equal in his limited ability to use this magics, his strength in them will grow over time. The ability to preform such magics as Dark or White Magic, or Necromancy, remains hidden to him.

Fighting style: His fighting style consists of a limited knowledge of all elemental magics. Although he only knows the basics (Fire, Earth, Wind, Water) he is just beginning to expand his magical knowledge into the other branches of elemental magic, such as Ice and Lightning spells that are a combination of the four basic elements.

Lucards limited knowledge of Magic leaves him in the need of a handy, if not glamorous, sword. Although it isn't something of legends, the blade is simple and easy to use.

Equipment: His robes/armor, as mentioned before in the "Appearance" section.

Also, around his waist he wears a belt with a scabbard on the left side that extends down to about his calf/ankle. This holds his sword.

Notes: Lucard has not yet made his decision as to if he will fall into the Dark Magics, or join with the White Mages...

Notes about you: I have had many problems with my internet, so if there is a lengthy period, a week at most, where I have said nothing to anybody about being on, consider my internet crashed and I will have no certain time when I can be back on. If this happens, as it has just recently (off for a month) then I give my permission to someone to write me off the story. Don't kill me, just make it so I'll be away so that when, or if, I come back I can return to the RP.

Name: Vincent DuValle
Age: 24

Place of birth: Deep in the humid forests of Rweng lie a sole civilization devoted to their culture. To outsiders they are referred to as the Telvanni, but amongst themselves they are know as Vexerians. Temples and various ceremonial structures build up the city's center structure, while tall walls of stone border the colony's perimeter.

Apperance: Though their focus lies in tune with magic, Telvanni also view physical fitness as a virtue. While not entirely robust, their lithe figures are very agile and sturdy. An average height of 5'10 is most often the norm. Their skin is imbued with a light mocha tone. Rune-like markings appear in many different shapes and sizes across the body. Vince's in particular consist of a thick black ring around both arms, as well as a crescent that partially covers the left side of his torso. These runes hold a dull glow when magic is in use. Vexerian eyes tend to have various colors that are often tied to the type of magic that person uses. Within Vincent's black orbs lie a crimson colored flame. His hair stop just before his shoulder, and is the color of tree's bark.

Vincent wears a leather cloak, hood attached, that was soaked in blood to give it a very dark red hue. Underneath this would be a black shirt and pair of pants, made of foreign animal hides. On his feet are boots of the same material, with a thin plate of iron on both the heel and inside the toe.

Skilled in: Despite the magical affinity of the region as a whole, Vincent has taken the time to become a skilled swordsman. Personal training, as well as some sought out knowledge from varying literature, has given him a unique style. Magic is still in his blood, and within that very same blood lies the skill to quickly voice incantations and form seals to unleash destructive magics. A combination of his skills has created a class referred to by the Vexerians as "Battle Mage." This title is given to those who can imbue their magic into weapons along with the ability to cast spells in a regular manner. Vincent has also been reading up on the dark arts, ranging from pure evil magic to necromancy, but can not fully execute such spells.

Fighting style: With fire being his magical affinity, his body is very quick and flexible. When it comes to a fight, Vincent will aggressively launch forward spells while moving his own body into the fray, sword in hand. Hesitation is rare and his pride and honor won't allow him to flee from an opposing enemy.

Equipment: Vincent lives as a wanderer and has an inventory to match. His sole mode of transportation is on horseback. A stallion he refers to as "Traziel", or "Zel" for short, is as black as the runes that adorn Vincent's body. The steed is heavily equipped with iron guards that hang down to cover the upper calf portion of its legs. Tied to its side are various bags (3 in total) containing resources such as food, drinkable water, bandages, a small collection of spell tomes, and a wooden container that holds his weaponry. (3 steel swords, with runes inscribed on each.)

Notes: Personality-wise, Vincent is very in tuned with his surroundings. Over the years, Vincent has traveled throughout most of Rweng and knows much about its fauna, plant-life, and its inhabitants. An event also occurred, resulting in Vincent being banned from his home village. That event sparked his need to wander, as well as his yearning to further increase his knowledge and power. By any means necessary.

Notes about you: Most of the time I'll be able to post daily. I'm in multiple RPs at the moment, as well as upholding one of my own, but this does not mean it will hinder my dedication in the least. As long as I am drawn into what's going on, you can be sure to receive my best effort.

If there are any problems with my character then feel free to call me on them and I will try to make changes so that he is suitable for the RP. (This is mostly referring to the magic portion of my character. I wasn't too sure on limits and just sort of winged it.)

The magic is fine so long as you don't get too destructive, consider your character accepted! I do wonder where all the people in the interest check went to, though... Heh. On a side note: I'll work on the IC, but don't expect it up just yet.

Name: Lhomas
Age: 29

Place of birth: Broche, Nath. This friendly, religious farming community might be the last place you'd expect Lhomas to be from, if only considering his ontemptuously distrustful attitude.

Apperance: This burly man is accustomed to time spent outdoors, travelling in the elements and sleeping on hard earth. His white skin is darkened and sun-baked, much the same flesh tone as his eyes.
This warrior's straight, dirty, neck-length head of hair and his short, rugged beard are a medium-brown color. That hair partialy covers bruised flesh on the side of his head, probably the remnants of a mace's wound.

Skilled in: teaching men how to fight, leading them in a small troop, and battling with sword and shield beside them.
Also, Lhomas knows how to survive long days away from concrete civilization, and has a good knowledge of the outdoors and rural society.

Fighting style: Having fought in many diffirent campeigns and battles, Lhomas not only knows how to win a straight fight with sword and shield, but is very adaptable to combat situations. He can pick up most weapons and not faulter with them, can ambush the less-then-sharp enemies, and can easily switch to and inbetween aggresive melee and defensive retreat.

Equipment: Lhomas usually wears chainmail-over-leather surcoat under an iron breastplate. This armor is kept in good condition, and the ornate, up-pointed pouldron covering his right shoulder gives Lhomas the appearence of a battlefield commander. His left piece, though, seems out of place. This other shoulderpad is several shades darker and is made of overlapping pieces, instead of one large dome.
The sturdy broadsword paired with the short, round shield appear newly forged, and both are without decoration or heraldry.

Notes:
Notes about you:

Tell me if this needs any changes or more explanation, that's no problem.
Also, personaly, I could post every day or two, as long as there's something to write about.

Now then, the IC is up!

Name: Pandora Leca Flist [a.k.a.= Jinx]

Age: 22

Place of birth: ~Rweng:
-A small oasis-like village of very few people, mostly of long Rweng descent. There she has been living in a small hut made of natural woods and shades, not very closed off from the world around her. The oasis does have one thing though that she is grateful for- and that is the slight stretch of Lake Kyrin.

Appearance: Jinx stands a lean and slender height of 5'6, with a soft skin tone of caramel, marked here and there with few scars. Also along her body, are several swirls of blue inked designs (one that rolls in soft tribal spirals down from her shoulder to her arm [left side]. Another that seems to stretch from a spot on her right shoulder blade up along the right side of her throat). She has a soft face, with high cheek bones, a small nose, mature eyes, and full plush lips. Pandora's eyes are a strange deep green, cased between a set of long dark lashes. She has thin brows and a set of three blue lines that fall down over her right eye vertically (starting at her hair line and going down to the bottom of her cheek, and seeming somewhat hand-done for they are a bit tapering upon the ends). Her hair itself is black and done into tiny thin braids that are usually pulled up, though when down fall to her waist. Jinx is usually found attired in a white top that stretches over her breasts and has several straps that loop up and tie around her neck and arms. Her navel is bare, and pierced with silver jewelry. The bottom of her outfit is a pair of fitted breeches that are low cut and reaching only to her knees. They are white with black seams along the outer edge and bottoms. At Pandora's waist is a silver belt of chain, and another belt of blue, that is of dyed reeds. Around her neck and wrist are two identical charms on white reed strings. The charm itself is a small twisting 'S' like shape, that appears to be like water.

Skilled in: Water-based magic.

Fighting style: Martial art- Jinx is best at hand-to-hand combat, due to her quick nature.

Equipment: Her water charms, and a small blade of stone tucked in the back of her breeches.

Notes: Hates fire and prefers the night. As well, she has created something of an alter ego called Jinx to protect her from letting the world in and keeping her only true goal ahead of her.

Notes about you: I'm not on as much on Tuesdays and I have band dates sometimes, but I'll try to warn you ahead of time of those.

You're accepted, Eternity!

I'd like to mention to everyone that:

a) Your character should start on a ship (either this one or another soldier-manned vessel heading for Sayn Isle.) of course should is merely a rough suggestion, if you'd like to be there already, by all means (read: previous ship that arrived before.)

b) In my intro I've asked those on foot to step aboard the caravan, whilst you may do your own thing, I suggest being somewhat close.

c) The first fight will likely take place a little after grouping and gathering starting supplies. Any suggestions for said fight, speak now or forever hold your peace.

Name: Arthur Ranghin(pronounced rahn-gin) Titles: Battle-mage, Master Magician. Nicknames: Art(y), Rang(pronounced rahng).

Age: 45

Place of birth: Gildan, Nath. It is a city on the coast, thus it's economic base is commerce. It attracts many characters from around the world, many who have settled. It is a sprawling, walled city with a massive citadel and a large populace.

Apperance: Medium build, somewhat wiry, longish brown hair, 6'2", wears elaborate cloaks and/or robes over a suit of chainmail most of the time, along with a pointed and broad-rimmed hat.

Skilled in: Adept with a bastard sword, master of magics, has been forced to become good at hand-to-hand combat due to the neighborhood he grew up in. Also in tactics and strategy, but mostly strategy(as that kind of book was the most commonly available).

Fighting style: In the way of hand-to-hand he uses a rough medley of his own adaptations that include styles from boxing, judo, and just plain street fighting. He uses an aggressive yet flowing form with his sword, so he can work around his oppenent's offenses and defenses using minimal strength, while at the same time being able to press advantages. And now to magic, he uses Elemental magics, more specifically, Fire and Earth, he is also proficient at healing and can conjure with some skill. He also studies more dark magics sometimes, and has become proficient at destructive spells.

Equipment: Bastard(hand-and-a-half) sword with a medium-length blade of great strength as well as flexibility that was made by elven smiths and captured and ended up in Arthur's hands in a roundabout way. In the folds of his cloak are many pockets with many things, small books of spells and other things not the least among them, others would be things like healing herbs, poisons, acids, he usually conjures or hunts his food though he does have some spices and nonperishable foods. Prefers to use magic with his hands, though he carries a 'walking stick' that is actually a staff, knarled but smooth to the touch, it twists in on itself at the top and has a sharp spike on the bottom, he uses it for stronger spells though it can be used for weaker ones.

Notes: Was born into an impoverished family and showed strange 'anomalies' from a young age. A magician passing through town noticed him and payed his family to take him as an apprentice. He was taught everything the old mage knew and learned much more himself through reading and experimenting.

Notes about you: During the week(Monday-Friday) I have school so I may not be able to use the computer on some of those days, and I go to church on Sunday mornings. That's all, I think.

It's passable, but I'd appreciate you tone down one of the two aspects (actually, this is more of a global message), that meaning, if you wish to use both magic and swords, you can't expect the character to be overly proficient with both. Either your blade arm's weaker than the average or your spells are sloppy. I trust neither will be overdone, and I'll take the liberty of sending a PM if it happens. One more note...

You're accepted as soon as you specify more into this coat of yours. While I don't mind a rough idea, it's a must to say how many: did you run out of rations after the second? How on earth did you find another sword? And just where was that spellbook when your coat fell?

See, questions like those may arise if you don't. Thanks in advance, mate.

How's that? Or do you want more?

As a note, he is better than the average swordsman at swordplay though against a master he would be forced to use magic in order to win. And in the way of posts, I have lost the link to the IC and probably won't be able to post until tomorrow anyway.

Before I post, is the caravan the group of mercenaries or is it referring to your personal carriage?

@Phidius: That'll do. There's a link to the IC on the veeery top of this here thread.

@Traziel: The caravan isn't a reference to the group. It's the carriage, but I can see why confusion would arise from this. For future reference, let's avoid caravan when talking about the mercenaries, okay?

EDIT

@Luke2415: Accepted, I'll make sure not to kill your character should that situation happen. I hope it doesn't though.

Good enough, accepted. Just for future reference, when you make an IC post, make sure you spell check alright? You're missing punctuation and misspelling words.

Name: Thriv Tok (sounds like tock)
Age: 19
Place of birth: Though his name might immediatly point to the magical Mev'Tok, Thriv was born in the icy clutches of Silia, to a
small band of nomads for Mev'Tok.

Apperance: His Mev'Tokian heritage stands strong, with his tall, lean build, short, dark brown hair, tanned skin, and eyes the color of night, but trails away from it with his strong musculature, heavily callused hands and feet, the nurmerous scars along his arms, and his heavy resilience to the cold. High cheek bones, thin lips, and a large, oft broken nose, and heavily lidded eyes adorn his face. He is usually seen wearing a plain, short sleeved, brown shirt with matching pants and brown leather boots.

Skilled in: Adept at the use of a dagger, well acquianted with the bow, somewhat skilled with axes of all kind, adept at hand-to-hand combat, adept in both pickpocketing and 'blending in', knowledge of herblore, top-rated survival skills, little knowledge of magic, knowldgeable in traplore, a decent smith

Fighting style: Thriv's fighting style could be well acquianted with assassin-style tactics, using daggers and arrows coated in poison, numerous traps to trap, maim, and kill his prey, and a multitude of acrobatics used to confuse an opponent or clamber up a tree. Uses a bow more often than not, but likes to slit throats and impale hearts every now and then. When having to use hand-to-hand combat he tends to use breaks, palms, grappling, and choke attacks rather than the tedious fist-to-fist brutality. Unlike the fools who value pride over their own lives, Thriv knows to run when the time comes.

Equipment: 5in throwing daggers (tends to restock whenever possible, all made of steel), 12in twin daggers (uses only one at a time, both made of steel), barbed arrows and "regular" arrows (around 50 of each in separate leather quivers, with either steel or wooden heads), yew long bow, yew crossbow, caltrops, bear traps, rope and steel nets, 6in whitling knife, variety of medicinal and poisonous herbs, mortar and pestle, bandages, water canteen, and steel wire. Wears a thick, but flexible cuirass of leather armor with a sturdy suit of steel chainmail underneath, a leather arm guard, a green, cotton cloak with a hood, and a leather belt with two 12in sheaths parallel to his hips extending from either side.

Notes: Though his fighting style and jokes center around torture and cold killing, Thriv is a kind person who'd rather kill enemies and joke around than murder innocents or ravage towns. Tends to be cynical and a loner, but is most often seen around a group of friends (not his) watching their reactions, seeing their happiness, and whitling a piece of wood. Tends to sleep in trees and keep very little money on his person. Seen as the smart, quick-witted type.

Notes about you: Being an active member in school related subjects, I'm not always available to post, not counting the times when I just have a massive case of writer's block.

Accepted, but keep an eye on your stuff: carrying so many weapons without slowing down can only be so logical... Luckily there is a wagon devoted to this (and people.) Just make sure you state in the IC what you're carrying if you happen to leave stuff.
