Rachel sat in the choir room waiting not to patiently for everyone to arrive. There was about a half of the class missing still, and the brunette was ready to start. Now. She'd been ready as soon as she walked into the room and sat down ten minutes ago actually. Where was everyone? Were they trying to deprive Rachel of her musical education? Well it wasn't really education for her since she seemed to know almost every song in the book. But still. The girl sat in her chair, both her arms and legs crossed, staring continuously at the open door, ready to give anyone who came in hell for being so late.
But when Brittany came in all smiley and excited and asked if everyone wanted to see her new puppy, Rachel couldn't really find it in herself to yell at the girl. The blond sat down her backpack on the piano and pulled out a huge, black rat. Rachel could have fainted right then and there, but she was able to stop herself somehow. Instead, she immediately stood up and walked to the back of the room, as far away from that...thing as she could get. "Brittany t-that's...that's not a-a dog!" she told the girl loudly, earning a confused look from Brittany and a glare from Santana who had just walked in the room. "Don't listen to Manhands over there Britt. Of course it's a dog, and a very cute one at that." Santana lied, mustering a smile. Rachel folded her arms once again, "Can you please get that thing out of here?" she demanded. "You should at least pet him first. He's very friendly." Brittany requested walking towards the girl in the back. Rachel shook her head rapidly, "I think I have to pass..." she said before walking backwards along the wall so the rat didn't get too close to her. Eventually she tripped and fell which caused the blond to stop following her and sit down, still holding and petting her 'puppy'. Santana didn't pass up the chance to laugh at Rachel for something. "Watch yourself now Streisand. At least it isn't a long fall for you." she told Rachel before she took her seat next to Brittany.
Rachel stood up and straightened her skirt out before she went back to her seat. Mr. Schue would be here soon and he'd make Brittany put the rat outside, and then Rachel wouldn't have to worry about that rodent anymore. Problem solved. But the girl was still upset about how late everyone was being today. And the fact that even Mr. Schuester hadn't shown up yet either just added to it. Today just wasn't her day.
