If it's a mecha then what use is it to transform into a tank

Kronos wrote:And if the Mecha can't transform or fly? Give me one situation where a tank wouldn't have the advantage over a Mecha.

plus the Mecha could just hop around until it gets close to the tank and step on it.

Mechs beat tanks EVERY TIME. If you get beaten by a tank, then you suck at the game.
yeah but can a tank fly transform or do any of that stuff

Then there are those who are completely illogical, you know who you are. >=C
Mecha; An illegitimate combat vehicle which should be used only as an intimidation weapon, in my honest opinion. Come on, they're 60 foot tall weapons totting 105 millimeter cannons and Directed Energy Weapons; we all agree, they're fuckin' scary, but you have to realize, there's no use for that in urban or any other form of warfare, really. The only reason I'd see fit to use one of those is in some form of a preemptive strike, and hardly at that. Mecha's are completely useless in warfare, really. Thinking logically, they'd eat up fuel, ammunition, you'd have to devote entire Armor Brigades to protecting only four or five Fireteams of them. Once you get those things on the battlefield, chances are they'll just get hit by Dedicated Ground Support. =l
Walkers; Oh jebus, I love Walkers. Look at it this way people, these aren't the 60 foot tall giant machines bristling with illogical and heavy pieces of ammunition and weaponry. These things are 20, 30 feet tops; small, compact, and quick. They have a good amount of armament, a decent power supply, and most of all, they're tangible. Get a group of those; five or ten, latch them on to a tank platoon, add a Company of Infantry and you have a deadly fighting force. These are much more logical vehicles than Mecha; they're relatively easy to produce, they can be mass produced, and they're basically a large General Combat Vehicle.plus the Mecha could just hop around until it gets close to the tank and step on it.
That's not very tactical. Don't be dumb, your 60 foot Mech isn't going to be hopping around with SAM-Sites bristling around the area and being outnumbered by Enemy Armor. >=CSuper Robot Wars: Original Generation.

It's a game child. I hate to say it, but I'm assuming you have little experience with common Infantry and Armor tactics, ja?yeah but can a tank fly transform or do any of that stuff
Creating vehicles that transform are dum. Keep it in the movies plz.
Speaking in all seriousness, the tank is the more logical Combat Vehicle. That's just because we've used them for more than fifty years. I'd much rather take a platoon of T-90's or Leopards over a Fireteam (2) of Mecha's or even Walkers, for that matter. You have to take into account the full tilt of the Battle-Field Chain.
Infantry is supported by Armor, Armor is supported by Infantry, Armor and Infantry are supported by Aircraft, Aircraft are supported by Infantry and Armor.

All in all.. Azr is right. I completely agree.
The only way we will see mecha's is if they prove to be useful, still waiting on the Japs to fine tune that.
As far as tanks... We're more likely to see them 'Hopping' along a battlefield in the near future, rather than any sort of mech.

I don't hate anime per-say, but I just don't like to soil my pants with the illogical riff-raff that comes with it. =lAll in all.. Azr is right. I completely agree.

I'll give you a logical use for Walkers.
D-Day-esque Scenario ... soldiers dying on the beach, armor can't get a foot hold, paratroops to the south are slowly being slaughtered in the tens. What do you do?
Well, you've got a squad of ten new Walkers, all shiny, heavy-cannon and launchers ready to go. You send them in with the final batch of paratroopers to seize strategic objectives and relieve pressure on key beach heads. The enemy, who were only prepared to be fighting light Infantry, suddenly get 20 foot tall 25mm Cannon totting death-machines. BOOYAH?!
That's the only logical use I can see for a Walker, that's Mecha excluded. I personally file Walkers away into the Heavy Armor category. To be honest, I don't see any practical use for Mecha because they're chunky, expensive, and it'd be extremely difficult to mass produce them. Sorry Rokku, but you need to know a little bit about what you're arguing about before you start damning people to hell. =l
Which is the better combat vehicle?
Well maybe you should realize that this isn't a serious thread and learn about something called "Having Fun".
Well excuse me for trying to have a little fun, Seargent Hardass. :P
