Tea Wars! Looking for C.o.m.b.a.t Waiters. ( )

Postby RedRaine on Sun Jul 17, 2011 12:50 am

Hey everyone! This is an idea that's been bumping around in my head for like forever! Nearly half a week!

So here's the -basic- idea:

Warring Cafes with combat waiters fight each other to gain 'reputation points' to advertise on television and billboards as well as gain popularity and sponsors. The combat waters can drink certain teas that give them supernatural capabilities like starting fire.

I present you: Tea Wars!

It's exactly as stated, years ago a company known as the United Cafe Association proposed a new, fun and entertaining way for Cafes, new and old to gain popularity and acclaim. Cafes would select 'Certified Operatives of Meticulous Battle And Tea' or C.o.m.b.a.t Waiters to participate in 'Engagements' against other Cafes with Combat Waiters. Winners of Engagements would receive 'Reputation Points' for their Cafes. These Reputation Points are used in everything from advertising to buying new products for the Cafe. Cafes with high Reputation Points are also noted on the Global Cafe Leader Boards.

Now what exactly is Tea Wars? My goal is create a persistent world in which people can represent their respective Cafes in battle, where winners are given points that improve what their Cafe is capable is serving In and Off the battlefield! Other than the fights the Waiters are able to serve and interact with others in their Cafe. Waiters could also talk with one another in the collective 'Service Stadium'.

I plan to have this Crossover Compatible with the Multiverse so all your favorite characters could drop into one of the many wonderful cafes and be serviced by the waiters there!

I have a full list of various items these Combat Waiters could bring into battle but I'll mention only a few as teasers.

**Updated**

People have been asking how the bloody hell are you suppose to carry tea cups and snacks into battle. Here is the answer!

"Users store their items into their 'Tactical Aids of Battle Learned Elegence' or T.a.b.l.e's, which are color coded bracelets around either of the Waiter's wrists. When activated with a sharp horizontal swipe the table produces a colored platform of energy that holds their items. When deactivated they all disappear back into the tables."

Now, here are a few examples of the various Cafes and what they serve:

Main Street - A very modern style Cafe. The waiters are dressed simply, but the easy going atmosphere makes up for that.

Type: Standard Cafe
Specialty: Jack of All Cafes

Teas Available:
-Red Tea: For a short amount of time the Waiter gains the ability to generate pillars of flame from their arms and legs.
-Iced Tea: For a short amount of time the Waiter gains the ability to create blocks of ice from the surrounding air and throw them at the opponent.

Snacks Available:
-Biscotti: For a short amount of time the user is able to manifest their battle aura into the shape of a standard longsword.

Specialty - [Jack of All]
-Waiters of this Cafe are allowed to bring additional teas or snacks into battle.

Recette's - A medium cafe at the top of a gentle hill. The cafe has a warm, inviting feeling accompanied by the gentle uniforms of the staff to the soft browns of the interior.

Type: Sandwiches
Specialty: Partial Transformations

Teas Available:
-Mint Tea: For a short amount of time the Waiter is able to summon endless flurries of leaves from their back.

Speciality - [Polymorphing]
-Egg Salad: Every additional bite of this sandwich allows the user to partially transform their body into that of an eagle. The first bite grows wings, the second sharpens their nails into claws, the third allows their vocal chords to each amazing limits, creating powerful sound waves.
-Peanut Butter & Jam: Every additional bite of this sandwich allows the user to partially transform their body into a goo like form. The first bite allows them to secrete sticky goo, the second allows their limbs to stretch and third allows their body to temporarily transform parts of their body into goo that can reform.

Audacia Paula - A small and quaint cafe that has piles of books on the windowsill and rows of books in the back. If they did not have a sign that stated "Cafe" at the front it would be mistaken as a library. As a requirement all Waiters must wear glasses.

Type: Book Cafe
Specialty: Summoning w/Books

Teas Available:
-Earl Grey: For a short amount of time the Waiter that drinks this gains the ability to create magical arrows.
-Mint Tea: For a short amount of time the Waiter is able to summon endless flurries of leaves from their back.
-Bamboo Tea: For a short amount of time the user is able to summon bamboo spikes from the ground.
-Vanilla Ceylon: For a short amount of time the user is able to create orbs of light that can 'explode' with a flash of light. The light is quite weak but enough to distract the opponant.

Books Available:
-War Novels: While in use, the user is able to generate and fire bullets from the tips of their finger.
-Math Textbook: While in use, the user is able to create physical manifestations of math equations. The more difficult the more powerful.
-Romance novel: While in use, the user is able to summon tiny cherubs that fire arrows at the opponant. The user can only summon two cherubs at a time and they fire only one arrow before fading.
-Scroll: While in use the user is able to summon fists of sand to attack the opponant. The user can only summon one at a time.

Specialty - [Endless Fantasy]
-The waiters of Audacia Paula are able to indefinitely summon from their books without time limit. However, if used in conjunction with the teas the books lose power after the tea runs out.

Limitations:
-Waiters here are able to bring 3 teas and 1 book into battle.

La Petite Palette - A rather large bakery that doubles as a cafe. It has the space of roughly two average stores and is always very busy inside. They have a small outside area to dine.

Type: Pastry Shop
Specialties: Weapon Creation.

Teas Available:
-Earth Tea: For a short amount of time the user is able to make the earth underneath them move to a certain extent.
-Cloud Mist Tea: For a short amount of time the user is able to cast a fog over their surroundings.
-Lemon Drop Tea: For a short amount of time the user can create rods of light energy above them to 'fire' at the opponant. These can only be aimed at the ground and are not very strong.
-Red Tea - For a short amount of time the user can throw small fireballs the size of one's fist.

Pastries Available:
-Biscotti: For a short amount of time the user is able to manifest their battle aura into the shape of a standard longsword.
-Cream Puff: When eaten, the user is able to mold their battle aura into steel shot put spheres to be thrown.
-Doughnut: The user is able to mold their battle aura with the doughnut into a steel battle hoop.
-Bread: The user is able to mold their battle aura with the bread into a shield.
-Baguette: The user is able to mold their battle aura with the baguette into a spear.

Speciality - [Burning Aura]
-Waiters at Petite Palette have a stronger battle aura than usual and in turn are able to manipulate the size of their weapon in exchange for strength. Weapons used by these waiters also last 4 posts instead of 3.

Equipment Limits:
-Waiters here are able to bring either a) 2 teas and 2 pastries into battle, or b) 3 teas and 1 pastry.

Well... Whaddya guys think?
~Still trying to fit all of my dreams in a pokeball.

Ok, this idea is awesome. At several points I couldn't help laughing, just because of how unlike anything else it is. If you were to do this I would totally join.

Well, now that my mind has stopped spinning from the epicness of this idea, I'm interested.

^^ thanks guys. I was thinkin this idea was waaaay too out there. Remember this is only a few examples of the ideas I have of this. There's at least 7 cafes in development with over 50 different teas and dozens of more items. If this launches big there'll be more customization options than you can imagine.

You. Me. This RP.

That being said I might be busy during the majority of August so I'd probably have to take minor roles, but I am definitely interested in wacky waiter wars (yay alliteration). In fact, I already have a line of OCs with food/desert motifs prepared for this very occasion...Don't ask why.

Anyways consider this topic subscribed to or something.

Ha, LOL.

Give me a minute so I can type again through my laughing!!XD

BRILLIANT idea!

I'm afraid that I don't have the time for another full character, I'm playing in too many ATM. However, I can and will gladly be a minor Character/minor NPC controller. ^_^

I think I may have seen you discussing this with someone else in the OOC Chat, but I didn't hear enough of it, obviously. XD

So. Here's an update on current plans:
1) We're going to make a short roleplay with a simple storyline in order to increase attention to Tea Wars. The general plot will be about how the UCA(United Cafe Association) has appeared outta nowhere and announced this grand idea. They will be inviting cafes to test their new systems. Two cafes(most likely Audacia Paula and Recette's) will be interested in testing this and the roleplay will be about how everyone's gettin used to everyone.

This is still being developed.

2) Before all that I will be selecting a volunteer to beta test the Engagement system for the battle side of the roleplay world.

Any volunteers?

I've grabbed 2 beta testers in the chat room, but if you two would still like to try it out you can pm or leave a message here. It'll be against one another. For beta testing it I'll also give you guys 2 additional cafes to choose from.

This idea sounds like a side story out of Toriko, minus the outrageous animals and fictional meals.

And that's why it totally sounds godly awesome.

Hey guys! For the purpose of the beta test between smrtazz13 & LaularuKyrumo I have updated Audacia Paula as well as added a new cafe: La Petite Palette, a pastry shop.

Hurricane, if Alasund De'astio or Noxize are still willing to test out the thing they would be trying against each other. If one of them does not you can take their place. If they both want to either I or another could do a third test with you.
