Cafe Wars: Noxize vs smrtazz13

Original Interest Check.

Rules: T1, 20 post limit, 10 each. All items last 3 turns unless stated otherwise. Teas can be combined with any other items.

Setting: Rustic cobblestone town plaza. There's a single stone fountain in the middle but is otherwise very spacious.

Noxize:

Joe of La Petite Palette

Teas:
-Earth Tea: For a short amount of time the user is able to make the earth underneath them move to a certain extent. Best used for travel but there are other options.
-Cloud Mist Tea: For a short amount of time the user is able to cast a fog over their surroundings.

Pastries:
-Bread: The user is able to mold their battle aura with the bread into a shield.
-Baguette: The user is able to mold their battle aura with the baguette into a spear.

Speciality - [Burning Aura]
-Waiters at Petite Palette have a stronger battle aura than usual and in turn are able to manipulate the size of their weapon in exchange for strength. Weapons used by these waiters also last 4 posts instead of 3.

Maddox of Audacia Paula

Teas:
-Earl Grey: For a short amount of time the Waiter that drinks this gains the ability to create magical arrows.
-Mint Tea: For a short amount of time the Waiter is able to summon endless flurries of leaves from their back.
-Bamboo Tea: For a short amount of time the user is able to summon bamboo spikes from the ground.

Books:
-War Novel: While in use, the user is able to generate and fire bullets from the tips of their finger.

Specialty - [Endless Fantasy]
-The waiters of Audacia Paula are able to indefinitely summon from their books without time limit. However, if used in conjunction with the teas the books lose power after the tea runs out.

"Order...up..*hic*" Slurred Joe, a well known homeless man from the area. Why he was handling food and drink was a matter for the Health Department to review. Why he was staggering about...was about half a bottle of Jack. His uniform was filthy; quite a feat actually, he had JUST been handed it only moments ago. "Whosit wanted bread? 'Cause I got it in SPADES!...*hic*"


Filthy hand passes over a tarnished T.a.b.l.e. device, and with a slight haze of static his gear popped into reality. Several teas and some breads, all of them looking pristine next to his haggard looks. The hand moves, selecting a long loaf...a Baguette he had been told to call it, and lifts it to his gnarled teeth. He wasn't supposed to eat it..but he took a bite anyway. In comming into contact with his flesh it began to gather power, and draw upon his rather negative state of mind as well.

Teeth met with resistance however as the bread shifted into a long spear, drawing from his personal energy as it formed..becoming blackened and twisted. A sick green tint oozes along the blade on it's tip. Sober instantly, and quite confused about it, Joe inspects the weapon held before him. It was light, but solid, seeming to be made from a kind of soft metal. After absorbing the toxins from Joe's system it would now be quite caustic.

A careful selection next, hand on one of his teas..he waits.

Maddox looked upon the shaggy man with much skepticism. The man was sloppy and filthy, the sight of which caused Maddox to sigh heavily and press a finger to the fake glasses that he wore and push them to a more comfortable position. He watched as the homeless looking man summoned his T.A.B.L.E. and pulled off a Baguette. He was surprised to see his opponent actually begin munching on the damn thing, considering his teeth would rest upon a metal spear. Maddox sighed once more as the man chose to stay on the defensive, something Maddox had not expected. He ran a hand against the side of his face and through his dark hair as his other arm lifted up a book into view. Now he knew that he could have easily housed the book in his T.A.B.L.E. system, but he preferred to simply carry it around. Maddox quickly opened the book and proceeded to pour a bit of his energy into it. It was his personal favorite book, a war novel of sorts. Maddox pulled the book towards his chest with his left hand, holding it open by placing a finger between the pages. With his right hand he pointed a finger at his opponent, and instantly a bullet sprang from his finger tip and shot towards the man's center.

The simple attack would allow Maddox to maintain a rather safe distance from his opponent and if the bullet connected with it's target it would cause pain and cause him to flinch at most.

Beneath the dirt and grime, housed in a shell of trauma and booze lay the true mind of Joe. War veteran. With the haze of Jack removed from his senses he was snapped back into focus. It was rather startling for the poor hobo, but it served him well. PTSD had driven him here, drinking to hide the horrors of war in a dark closet within his mind, but now free of the security booze had given him...it all flooded back. Before him stood not a waiter...dressed in his fancy clothes...but a VIET CONG SOLDIER!

That wasn't a book, it was a gun! As Maddox raised his hand...in Joe's mind it was the barrel of a rifle pointed his way; oddly true for the moment. Reacting instinctively, hand grasping the tea and bringing it to his lips in a quick gulp...as his body twisted and jerked into a dive to the side. In mid air the tea would take effect...as mist explodes from his form to fill the area. For the moment Joe is hidden in a dense cloud.

Tucking into himself, the dive ends in a roll from which he stands, hearing the TWANG of the opponent's bullet hitting the area he had once stood. It was a close call. Keeping low he rushes the target, spear held before him. The angle of attack was obscured from view by the fog, but Joe had the advantage of his quick reaction. It was possible that his opponent was still confused by the explosion of fog, searching for a target in the area Joe had last been seen. If so he would soon find himself on the wrong end of a sharp spear.

Dashing along, footsteps muffled by the mist, Joe closes in on where the waiter was last seen, thrusting the spear into the spot where his gut would have been. If Maddox had moved Joe would simply keep moving, searching for the man, never standing still to allow an easy target.

Maddox was an avid reader, not a soldier, well not yet anyway. He had aspired to enlist, and maybe in the future he would be given the chance. But in order to support his family Maddox was a simple waiter for Audacia Paula. He did however, read plenty of books centered around war and armed conflicts. For example the book he held in his arms now, which allowed him to fire bullets from the tips of his fingers. The knowledge he had gained from reading the novels may not have been the same as personal experience, but it did allow him to be adept in the tactics of combat.

Maddox took only a moment to observe as his opponent disappeared into a cloud of mist. Maddox quickly ran to his left, maintaining a perpendicular path from his opponents last known location. Maddox was a fan of "fire and manuever" tactics, primarily because his training to become an Audacia Paula C.O.M.B.A.T. waiter centered on ranged confrontation rather than close quarters combat. Maddox thought about his opponents weapon of choice, a spear, and concluded that his enemy would be trying to close the distance between them in order to brutally attack him.

Maddox spun around on his left leg in order to face the position where he had first fired at the man from. As he walked backwards keeping in mind that distance would be his greatest weapon, he raised his right hand again, fingertips glowing as he drew upon the power of his war novel. A barrage of some thirty rounds fired from his fingers and streaked through the air and mist towards the targeted area. If they connected they would have the earlier stated effect, depending on how many hit, if any

It was time to kick things into gear, the training was all comming back to him now...it made him feel alive again! Dashing through the fog, tea in his system..he begins to combine effects. Inhale...exhale...fog. It coated the spear, now held tightly in his grip. Ears alert..the POP POP POP of shots sounding from right over there! It was obvious to Joe that the oponent was firing blind, hoping for a few hits; Spray and pray it was called. No matter.

Sliding to a stop, twisting his body sharply towards the oponent's position...a hand swipes across the T.a.b.l.e. bracelet to summon the teas in mid movement. Hovering before him, one tea left and one item. A snatch takes the tea and gulps it down. Things were about to become interesting.

Stopped now, a foot slams into the cobbles below...and causes a chunk of ground to rise. Now, most would use the Earth Tea for travel, or chucking rocks. Not Joe. With a focus of willpower the shaft tilts...angled towards the oponent's position. Leaning forward, one foot still on normal ground..ghostly spear clutched tight...the ground explodes.

A sharp crack of stone shattering sounds as the bit of ground launches outward, propelling Joe at the oponent...moving faster than one would expect a dirty hobo to move. In the air things stood still a moment for Joe, as he rushed through the mist. The unaimed bullets of the opponent rushing past in an angry swarm...buzzing and pinging off of the surrounding area..

Using all of his strength, and aided by the momentum of the ground below..he throws the spear.

Guided by the very mist that cloaks it, hidden within it's folds...the passing of the missile only evident from the ripples it leaves in it's wake. Not a sound passes through the thick mist, the shrouded spear doesn't even whistle. Aimed true, and aided by the mist, it soars at the oponent. Moving at a steady eighty miles per hour..if it strikes it would cause considerable damage. Broken bones to the the least. The angle would carry into the torso of Maddox..moving at such a speed that avoiding it would be dificult. Should it strike...the toxins it absorbed from Joe would be passed onto the target, causing a heavy intoxication. Insta-Drunk.

Still moving in the air himself, Joe would be rocketing along behind the spear, and slightly higher. He had a plan, but had moments to put it into action. Already her was gathering focus. This little Cong bastard was going DOWN!

Maddox continued to back away from where he suspected his opponent to be. The mist was getting to be quite annoying, for it made him unsure where to aim and had him rely on luck, something he didn't like to do. He peered carefully through the mist, being able to see only about fifteen feet in front of him. Maddox stood patient as the sounds of a Table system being activated reached his ears. His opponent was using yet another support item, Maddox grinned. The strength of Audacia Paula's waiters lied in their special ability, Endless Fantasy. By exploiting the fact there was no limit to his summoning from his book, Maddox could wait as his opponent exhausted his supplies. Both the spear his opponent had chosen at the beginning of the battle and the mist that hindered Maddox's view had been out for quite a while now. It would not be long before Maddox could gain the upper hand.

Maddox listened carefully to the sounds of earth moving, and he noticed that some of the mist was being drawn towards something. Against better judgment Maddox only strafed right, still trying to maintain a perpendicular path of movement away from where he suspected his opponent to be, he did not attack. His eyes scanned the mist carefully and suddenly a spear shot through the light fog. It was going at a fast speed, too fast for Maddox to move out of the way completely. Maddox twisted his body around, front most leg sliding across the cobblestone floor in a counter clockwise motion as he braced himself for the impact. The spear impacted his upper left chest, however due to angle that Maddox had created, a good amount of force was diverted as it scraped him. Maddox coughed as he felt the pain of the hit in his chest. He had avoided a broken bone, but it might have bruised a rib or two. The injury hurt but it was not serious to hinder his performance. However what came as a surprised to him was the fact that his vision was getting a bit blurry as his head felt woozy. Maddox did not know what could be causing this but he tried his best to ignore it. bringing a hand to his face.

Maddox raised his hand and fired another hail of bullets, this time he took into account where the spear had come from and it's flight path. He fired some fifteen rounds before retreating into the mist silently. He passed a hand over his T.A.B.L.E. device and summoned his supplies as he ran. He quickly swiped one of the tea cups off and drained it. Maddox continued to put distance between him and the man, his back turning a slight green color.

As spear would impact into chest, Joe would be rocketing along behind it.

Arms crossed before his head, tuck and roll position in action as legs come up to tuck in. Maddox was about to play pillow. As hand raises, target stationary for the moment, Joe's mass would reach the place where Maddox stood, thus interrupting his actions. Being braced for the impact of the spear..Maddox would have a tough time moving quickly into a dodge, focused as he was on bringing his hand up to shoot. It was possible to avoid the flying body of Joe, but it would take quite a bit of luck.

No time to activate his own T.A.B.L.E. setup, Joe was on his own for the moment. But so was his opponent.

Already the mist was thinning, and the spear was wavering back into simple bread, time was running out on the items. The Earth Tea was still active though, and would be needed to keep Joe from breaking on impact should Maddox some how dodge. Surprise however was on Joe's side; Who would expect a flying hobo? The surprise spear was bad enough..Who would be crazy enough to throw themselves?

Focus still gathering, pushing it into the Earth Tea's effects, Joe prepared to save himself..if his pillow was unavailable. Already the ground was feeling his will, and submitting. His landing would still suck if he missed, but it wouldn't kill him. And that was alright in his book.

At least Maddox didn't have time to shoot...that was a plus.

As the spear scrapped by him and Maddox turned to retaliate he was shocked to see his opponent flying at him as well. There was too little time to react properly and all Maddox could do was continue twisting his body and hope he would somehow make it out of the way. As Maddox’s legs turned and his waist and body twisted, he managed to create another angle as Joe impacted his chest, glancing off upper left shoulder. The connection carried a good amount of force behind it however and knocked Maddox off his feet, his body twisting like a screw as he fell to the floor. As his back felt cobblestone Maddox sighed as he felt a small amount of pain.

This opponent of his was starting to become rather…annoying. Without wasting time Maddox rolled across the cobblestone away from his opponent a good distance before hopping to his feet. Bringing his hand to swipe over his T.A.B.L.E. device, he quickly grabbed one of the cups of tea and downed it. Maddox’s back suddenly turned a good green as he pointed a hand towards his opponent. The mist was dissipating, now was the time for him to mount his counter attack. From his back a flurry of green leaves emerged, with a sharp movement Maddox slashed his arm in the direction of his opponent, sending the leaves to swarm around him. This would effectively disorient and blind Maddox’s opponent to his location.

Without taking a moment to waste Maddox raised his hand and took aim at the now clearly visible target. Maddox summoned another barrage of some thirty bullets and sent them screaming through the air towards him. As he fired Maddox strafed around his opponent to avoid staying in one place.
