Haylee bit her lip as the brother and sister synchronized in words, and she looked down. She felt bad, making them change their plans because of her, but the guiltiness didn't over power the feeling of sickness in her stomach. She lay in the back of the truck, her legs out along the back seats to stop the movement of her staomc that much. When they arrived at the hospital, it took a lot of effort to get herself out of the car as she felt so sick, but she did it in the end.

An expression of worry came over her face as she saw the doctor frown. "W-What?"

The doctor lightly patted the lower area of her stomach and sighed.
"It's morning sickness." she said with a sigh. "You're so young, dear."
The doctor frowned and gave her a pat on the back.
"I asssume you're the father." she said to Denny, who looked at her with both worry and surprise.
"Father?"
The doctor turned to Haylee with the same stern look mixed with worry.
"You're pregnant."

Haylee felt even more sick when she put her hand on her lower stomach. She turned to look at Denny with worry filled eyes, and she quickly wrapped her arms around her own stomach self consciously. "Oh no...no..no...no.." She whispered to herself, her eyes closed as it could all change when she opened her eyes, as if it was a bad dream that would just go away. But it wasn't. She was pregnant with Denny's child.

Janie looked on with surprise in her face. She knew her brother was so young as well. He was only 18. And yet... She held on to Denny's right hand while his stroked her shoulder to console her.
It was all an accident. he thought to himself. It was our mistake and we should account for this. I just wonder what mom would say.
He stroked her lower stomach gently and sighed deeply.
"I'm really, really sorry..." he mouthed so the doctor wouldn't know it was an accident.
He leaned over and gave her a kiss on the forehead. The doctor motioned her to sit up so that she could listen to the advice she was to give her.
"Well... Haylee, I'd just suggest eating small meals everyday. Around five or six small meals instead of three, and I'll need you to drink any sort of liquid after 30 to 45 minutes of eating solids."

Haylee bit her lip again and only sat up in the chair when the doctor told her too. She didn't let go of Denny's hand, holding it tight for comfort after he had kissed her on the forehead. She didn't see him mouth the words to her, as she was still pretty much in shock at the moment and it wasn't a good time for her. She nodded once as the doctor told her what to eat and drink, and then she turned to look at Denny with worried eyes. She wasn't ready to be a mother.. and wasn't ready to do it alone..

Denny looked at her worriedly and leaned over to whisper in her ear.
"Don't worry." he said with an easy, yet scared tone. "I promised I would be there. I told you that you weren't going to do this alone."
He gave her a one-armed hug before turning to listen to the doctor again.
"And there are tonnes of other tidbits of information over the internet, dear." the doctor said. "But I'd like you to follow what I say. It's really, really useful. Take it from a mother."
The doctor smiled and patted her on the back to comfort her before they went out of the room, and eventually the hospital.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" Janie asked in the parking lot.
"We're going to find out soon enough." Denny said in a troubled voice. It seemed to ripple around, as he wasn't so ready to be a father because he didn't have the funds to support one, but he was sure he could be a father to his child. He'd been sort of a father figure to Janie, so why not his own child?

"Don't leave me.." Haylee said quietly, when Denny gave her a one arms hug, and she kissed her cheek lightly. As they stood up, said thank you and then walked out, she nodded to the little bit of information that the doctor had given her before they exited the hospital. Her fingers were still linked with his as all three of them advanced towards his truck, and she looked at him. "I..This may seem a bit forward but..i-I know where you live.. and it's not very big..I.If you want..you could both come and live with me." She said quietly, looking between Denny and Janie. "My house is big enough.. and my parents only come home twice a year..."

"No, it's alright." he said with a little forced smile. "Even if Janie here wanted to... Wouldn't it be... Awkward for your parents? I mean, they'd come home with a daughter with a swollen belly and a guy like me in there?"
He was lost for words again. He sighed deeply and led the girls to their doors. Haylee came first, and he gently lifted her onto the seat and buckled her up. Then Janie, who he helped up as she was too short to reach the seat. He buckled her up and closed their doors before going to the driver's seat. He closed the door and fastened his seatbelt. He looked at the both of them. Both of them very dear to him. He'd told himself once to take a look at himself if he was in trouble, and he did. What should I do?, he thought.

"I don't think they'd mind..I mean, they only drop in to visit me anyway, so they're only home for three hours at the most when they come home. Anyway, they'd probably be more grateful that you were there with me.. so that I wasn't alone.." Haylee told him, biting her bottom lip and she then smiled as he helped her up into the car and did her seat belt up for her. "Thanks.." She said quietly, before closing her eyes and settling down into the chair.

"No, really, it's alright." he said in a sullen tone of voice. He didn't talk for about 6 minutes, and they remained parked. The silence was usual for Janie, because she knew there wasn't much to talk about or he didn't know what to say. But for others, it was a little eerie, the silence. Denny finally collected himself and he turned back to Haylee with a small smirk.
"I'll bring you over to your house again. You need some rest." he said with a worried expression. He reached his arm out to hold her hand before he went back and started the engine. Pretty soon, they drove off.

Haylee sighed. Well, she'd just have to be on her own almost every day then. She hated being alone, and she had hoped that he would take her up on the offer of moving in. However, she sat back on the chair, her eyes closed as she linked her fingers with Denny's, and she just felt like going to sleep now. "Mhm..I'm sorry I ruined your plans." She said quietly, her free hand going to rest on her stomach. "Really, I am.."

"They weren't ruined." he said, stopping again because there was a traffic jam not long from Haylee's house. He groaned silently at the extremely long traffic jam, but he just sighed and turned back to Haylee. "We could do it sometime else, right?"
His eyes flickered to Janie and back to Haylee. Janie nodded, face still filled with worry for the both of them.
"Right now, all I'm concerned is about you getting home and getting some rest. Me and Janie'll watch over you for the time being, since you're alone in the house."
His grip on her hand softened as he started to caress her hand. He then smoothed a piece of hair off her face and smirked.
"You could sleep while we wait for this jam to pass." he said before turning to the road, filled with cars just waiting to move.

"Yeah.. some other time would be good." Haylee sighed quietly, feeling slightly tired. She nodded when he said about her getting home and resting, and then she laughed a little. "I'm sure Janie will do a very good job watching over me. You, not so much." She smiled, playing around with them both as she felt Denny beginning to stroke her hand gently. "Mhm...I may sleep actually. Tired.." She said, before pulling her feet up on the truck seat underneath her, and closing her eyes.

Denny smiled and turned back to the road, waiting for the traffic to pass. He groaned in annoyance at the numerous cars in front of him. He opened his car window and peered his head out to see what had happened. An accident, perhaps. He couldn't see it as it was too far off. He sighed, got back inside and rolled up the window.
"Jordan?" Janie called in a small voice. "What are you going to tell mom?"
Denny sighed and gave her a pat.
"I don't know, Janie. I don't know." he said in a weak voice. He gave her a kiss on the forehead before he turned back to the road.

An hour passed and the traffic cleared up, Denny finding out that some guy had just collapsed on the road because he was too drunk to drive. While he drove past the man who was being handcuffed, he flipped him off. And they finally reached Haylee's house after some time on the road. He parked in the driveway, got out of the car to help Janie get out as well, and went over to Haylee's side to carry her to her room, or at least the sofa. He didn't know much about what the house looked like, but he knew it had to be the one that looked like a teenager's room, and one that wasn't so empty. He stepped onto the porch, opened the door and went inside. He walked up the stairs to the second floor, and looked through all the rooms (some were just furnished, but didn't seem to be occupied) until he stumbled upon Haylee's room. He set her gently on the bed and pulled the sheets over her so that she was comfortable. He and Janie sat on opposite sides of the bed, watching closely as she slept.

Haylee felt herself being moved when the truck had stopped moving, but she wasn't in any state of consciousness to move on her own. She felt herself being moved through the warmth and familiar scent of her house, and then she was laid dome into something comfortable, her bed. She snuggled down into the duvet, knowing that in nine months, a good night sleep was going to be a thing of the past. She grabbed something as it drew back from pulling the cover over her, and she gently linked her fingers with Denny's. It was a sort of comfort whilst she was sleeping. It felt nice.

Denny felt her hand hold his and he smiled. He kissed her lips gently while Janie watched. He looked at her while kissing Haylee, and found that she had the look his grandmother had when she watched the sweet parts of her soap operas on television. He gave her a signal to look away, but she just didn't.
"In LOOOOOVEEEE." she sang, covering her ears to avoid any objections from him spilling out. He pulled away and sang as well.
"QUINNNNNN." he sang. Janie, of course, was shocked that he could sing, but she never knew he was in the choir when she was very small, and he had a nice voice.
"MATTHEWSSSS." he sang again. Janie was tempted to jump off the bed and give him an earlobe twist, but she was afraid it would wake Haylee up more.

Haylee felt Denny kiss her, and she just believed it to be an amazing dream, so she kissed back. Her eyes were still shut, and she was asleep, but something inside her made her kiss the male back. However, she almost jumped out of her skin when she heard singing. Her eyes came opened slowly, even thought they were meant to fly open with shock, and she turned to look at both Janie and Denny who had been singing. It was then that she noticed that she was holding hands with Denny, and his kiss probably hadn't been a dream - more of a reality, actually. "You sing well.." She said sleepily up to him.

"No I don't." he said, covering his mouth. He was startled by her suddenly speaking, but Janie had started to sing, so why not sing back? The problem was that they forgot that there was a sleeping person in the room for a whole 10 seconds. Oh, great, he thought. We just woke her up.
"Look, I'm really sorry about that. Janie here likes to sing too." he said, gently stroking her face. "Now come on. Nap time."
He giggled at his little comment but he sneered at Janie, who stuck her tongue out at him. Both of them couldn't help but smile though. The look on both their faces was hilarious, but they tried not to break into sudden laughter in case Haylee would fall asleep again.

"It's okay." Haylee said quietly, her eyes still heavy from the sudden wake up call. She rubbed her eyes softly like a tired child would do after being woken up unwillingly, and then she shifted a little in her bed. "Nap time? I'm not three. Save that talk for your child, Denny." She said quietly, gradually getting used to the idea, and becoming happy that she was going to be a mother.

"You look like you're three." he said with a big smile, noticing her rubbing her eyes. "I guess I will, then."
He smoothed her hair and stroked along her hairline. Hopefully this would make her go to sleep. Then he started humming a lullaby his mother used to sing to him. Strangely enough. But he didn't mind. She was someone he loved, though he wouldn't admit it. What Janie said was true - he was already in love with her. But he felt it wasn't the time to say so. Not yet. Not while she was still recovering from the shock she received at the hospital. He just wasn't sure when he would say it though.
