Denny turned back to see that whatever he'd expected Haylee to do if she hadn't settled down came true. He chuckled warmly, but that was because he was drunk, and took the last gulp of his newly refilled drink before he walked over and bent over to look at her right in the eye.
"I hate to say 'I told you so'." he said, mouthing the words from the song that was playing;
I Told You So by The Hives.
He noticed a fresh, bleeding cut on her forehead that she got from falling over and hitting herself on the head. His smile grew bigger as he was tempted to laugh at her out loud, but he chose not to. She was the celebrant's good friend and he didn't want to run into any trouble with anyone that day, especially with Haylee.
"Come with me.
That looks like it needs some cleaning."
He grabbed her by the arm and dragged her to the bathroom, where he was pretty much sure there were medical supplies. He wasn't sure why he was doing this. He wouldn't usually be so nice to her, but he didn't notice at the time. He was just too drunk to think about it. He opened the door to the bathroom, pulled Haylee in and shut the door. He opened the medicine cabinet and found some topical antiseptic and some cotton balls. He put some of the antiseptic on the ball and dabbed some on her forehead without even warning her that it would hurt.
