The Awakened ( )

Postby Kuroyami on Fri Jan 22, 2010 7:57 am

I'm not really big on rules. If you wanna pm me a skeleton, that's cool, if not, that's fine too.Justt give me some basic character info.

All I ask is that if you choose to join, just post regularly. I know we all have lives, but once a day would be great.

Those without writing skills need not apply lol

Oooookay... here's the backstory:

It was millenia ago when the elder races left Earth. After much conflict, they had decided that they could simply not coexist with humans. Their solution was to take the path of the angels and devils and continue their lives in one of the other planes of existence. They petitioned the gods to assist them with this great undertaking, and once granted permission, they left this world behind, vowing only to return once humanity had either matured or wiped itself out.

When they departed, however, they left something very important behind: their half human children.Fortunately, most of these children were able to pass as human, and thus assimilated themselves into human society. Those with more obvious heritages wee seen as monsters and cast out into the wilderness to survive on their own, usually against their human parents' protests.

After thousands of years of crossbreeding, the magical blood of those surviving children has passed through most of the human population. Normally, this creates no problem, but there are certain times and certain situations when an individuals magical blood doesn't combine properly with his or her human blood. The result is normally something minor, such as a drastically increased intelligence or senses. Sometimes a human descendant will even develop psychic abilities.

But sometimes...on very very rare occasions, an individuals blood will awaken and bestow upon them immense power, allowing them to change their physical forms.

The newest generation, however, seem to be much more powerful than the last. A great change is coming, one that will affect the entire world. The question is,t why?

You are one of the Awakened? Will the you walk the path of the righteous or the path of power?

I'll make the first real post when i get four or five interested people.I guess just follow my example after that. You can be of ANY descent you choose. Dragon, Angel, Demon or Devil, Fairy, Elf, Dwarf, whatever. You can be a kappa for all I care lol. I don't like limiting peoples' creativity too much.

Sure, i'll join,

Btw, character sheets or skeletons are there to allow the GM to asess both the writing ability of the user and the character itself. It's an anti-mary sue measure. But what would I know, I'm just a GM to several RPs.
And on the first day Man created God in his own image.

OOD: Here's that first post.Keep in mind that everyone doesn't need to post something this long lol. Just an introduction for you character, something that explains where they are and how they got there. I just kinda go lost in what I was doing and ended up with a 4000 word post.

IC:

Deathbringer sat comfortably in the office chair,on the 10th floor of Talbot Futuristics, his long legs out in front of his and his booted feet propped up on the desk.

He removed the hood of his high priced leather coat as four of his men entered the dark room, looking around in amazement at the dozen or so human corpses that littered the room, and the dozens more they had found on the way up.

A large man with slicked back black hair and a scar across his left eye stepped away from the rest of the group and approached him.

"Impressive work as always, my lord." Nightwalker, his lieutenant said in a deep calm voice.

"Oh, this?" The man at the desk replied with a smile that was both wicked and amused all at once. His eyes glowed an eerie green as he spoke, making him appear even more terrifying. "Killing a few hundred humans isn't much of an accomplishment. Forgive me for not awaiting your arrival. I got bored."

Nightwalker dropped to one knee and placed his fist over his heart. "Forgive me for making you wait, my lord. I await your punishment."

Deathbringer stood up and walked over to his companion, reaching out a long arm and placing his hand on his shoulder. "Stand up, Nightwalker... No need for apologies, old friend. You were right on time. I just couldn't contain myself. Playing with humans is so much fun... I should be the one apologizing. I didn't leave any for you to play with."

Nightwalker did as he was told and stood up next to his Master. Nightwalker was indeed a large man, weighing in at 260 lbs, and standing 6'2", but he seemed short in comparison to the tall and lanky Deathbringer.

"Well," Deathbringer continued. "This mission was a success. Our clan now has... corporate sponsorship."

He pointed behind the desk and the remaining three men rushed over to grab the prone form on the floor. The unconscious man was David Talbot, Owner and CEO of the multi million dollar company, Talbot Futuristics.

"He should still be alive. Take him back to the compound for mental conditioning and send in a team to clean up this mess, would you please?" Deathbringer said, as he dusted off his coat and tied back his long black hair.

"You won't be heading back to the compound with us, My lord?" Nightwalker asked him as he approached the door.

Deathbringer grinned. "Not right away... let my father know that I'll return before the night is through. I have a... family matter to attend to at the moment."

'I'm coming for you, sister.' He thought as he made his way downstairs in the elevator. 'I hope you haven't gone soft over the last few years or this won't be any fun.'

......................................................................................................................................

Miles away, six year old Yuri Fontaine had no knowledge whatsoever of sorrow, killing, or death. He had only heard of the magical world through the bedtime stories told to him by his parents, Sera and Nikolai. He never had any inkling that he might be a part of it, that his parents were something more than human.

In fact at the very moment, he was being tucked into bed by his mother, being read the story of the three little pigs.

It wasn't long before his big grey eyes closed and he was fast asleepl.

Sera watched him as he slept, marveling at the young life she and her husband had created. Their little boy was a perfect combination of both her and Nik's features. Fine black hair and high cheekbones like herself, grey eyes and sharp chin like his father. Intelligent like her, and stubborn like him. He was a good natured, curious child, slow to anger and quick to forgive. He was every parent's dream.

She left the room quietly, leaving the door cracked open the way he liked it, and made her way into the living room where her husband awaited her. She walked over to the tall Russian man she had left her old life behind for and wrapped her arms around him, burying her head in his chest.

"Every day, it still amazes me how perfect our son has turned out to be, Nik." She said looking up at him.

He smiled at her as his grey eyes looked down into her green orbs. He kissed her softly and ran his hand through her fine dark hair.

"I know exactly what you mean, love. No matter what we had to lose to get to this point in our lives, he makes it all worth it. Ny greatest hope is to be able watch our son grow into a man. To go to school, got through puberty, get married, and have a family of his own. To have a normal life..."

His smile weakened a bit as those words left his lips.

"I know what you mean, Nik. I hope that's it's possible for him. But just in case that isn't meant to be.. don't you think that we should teach him to defend himself?"

Nikolai broke away from their embrace when she said those words, his expression angry.

"No, Sera. I don't want our son any closer to our world than he has to be. You know as well as I do that the desire to fight could cause his blood to awaken. We have to avoid that at all costs!"

Sera grabbed his hand, forcefully pulling him back to her. She looked at him with an understanding, but stern expression. "I know that very well, Nik. That's the reason we moved to America, the reason we live out here in the middle of nowhere, the reason we home school him, instead of letting him go to normal school. But think about this... What if something happens to us? Would you prefer he be alone in the world with no way of defending himself?"

Nikolai sighed and was silent for quite a while before responding. "You're right... as usual. I'll.. take him out into the woods tomorrow and teach him the basics. Is that acceptable?"

Sera smiled and showed her agreement with a kiss.

Their kiss was interrupted by a knock at the door.

Nikolai started to make his way to the door, but Sara stopped him.

"Wait, Nik... something feels wrong."

Trusting Sera's sixth sense, Nikolai called upon a bit of his power, his grey eyes glowing a soft silver, attempting to sense what lay on the other side of the door. He felt... nothing.

"It's nothing. Don't get so worked up all the time, love. We're safe here-"

His words were cut off by the front door being kicked in, flying off of its hinges.

"Pathetic, sister." Deathbringer said, walking into the house slowly. "This is the man you chose over your clan?"

Both Sera's and Nikolai's eyes widened as soon as they heard his voice.

"Sera! Get Yuri out of here! Now!" Nikolai yelled, wasting no time filling himself with all the power he could hold, immediately going into a defensive stance.

Sera hesitated, unsure of whether she should stay and assist her husband.

Nikolai looked over at her with slitted with slitted pupils. "Go!" He said in an inhuman voice. This time she did as she was told.

Nikolai turned to face his enemy just in time to catch a fist to his midsection, followed by an uppercut that sent him flying through the ceiling.

"I haven't seen either of you in almost seven years now, and I don't even get a hello?" Deathbringer said with amusement, his green eyes glowing now, and his pupils slitted just as Nikolai's were. "Sooo impolite."

A growl came from above him, and Nikolai broke through the ceiling once again, catching Deathbringer's face with a clawed hand that sent both of them crashing through the floor in to the basement.

Sera tried her best to ignore the sounds of battle coming from below. She rushed to her son's room and found him awake and terrified. "Mommy... what's goin on?" He asked her with wide eyes.

"We don't have time now, Yuri." she said, scooping him up in her arms. "Now close your eyes... and hold on tight for mommy, okay?"

When he nodded his approval and buried his face in her chest, she let out a screech and a pair of large black dragon wings sprouted from her back. She wrapped them around the boy and ran full speed right through the wall as though it were nothing. And she kept running once she hit the ground outside, although didn't get far.

Deathbringer appeared out of nowhere, right in front of her, half changed into his dragon form. "Leaving so soon, dear sister?" he said with a wide smile, showing two rows of fangs, his voice distorted due to the transformation. His slitted eyes glowed brightly, and black scales had appeared on his hands and on his neck and the sides of his face, along with claws and various spikes along his arms, piercing through his expensive coat. "Why the rush?"

Nikolai appeared between them, also partially transformed, although bleeding quite heavily from his shoulder. "you won't lay a finger on them, Varia!" He yelled out, aiming his claws for his enemy's neck.
Varia caught his arms at the wrist, twisting it, and Nikolai around and wrapping his arm around his neck. "Show some respect, peasant. My venom is in your blood.. you're no match for me. And you certainly have no right to call me by my true name..." To emphasize his point, he twisted his arm further, grinning when he heard a loud snap, and a scream from Nikolai. "Now, dear sister... what did he mean when he said "them"?" What do you have wrapped in those wings of yours?"

"Sera! NO! Just go!RUN!" Nikolai screamed.

Varia tightened his arm around the man's neck. "Silence, fool, of next time it'll be your neck I break. Now, show me, Sera!"

Tears ran down Sara's cheeks as she spread her wings, exposing Yuri the the scene before him.

"Please, Varia... don't do this!" She pleaded with her brother.

After seeing the child, Varia, the Deathbringer showed true anger for the first time. "Silence, whore! You disgust me! You've tainted our bloodline with the birth of this damnable half breed! And you!" He continued, looking at Nikolai. "You would dare attempt to mate with a member of the Black Dragon Clan??"

With his free hand, he proceeded to slowly pierce through Nikolai's back and through his heart. "Scream and die, White Cloud!"

"Nooo!" Sera screamed as Nikolai was tossed to the ground, leaving a mortified Yuri behind and rushing her brother at full force. Halfway across the distance between then, there was a flash of green light as she completely transformed into her half dragon form, fangs, scales, wings, claws, slitted eyes and all. Varia followed suit, and took off into the air, forcing her to give chase.

They battled in the air over the surrounding woods, an Sara, lost in her rage and grief had lost complete control. She fired her breath attack indiscriminately, blasting craters in the ground, her poison killing plant life and wildlife alike. As long as Varia died, nothing else mattered.

But as fast as she was, she just couldn't keep up. She never managed to land a single attack. And using that much power, it wasn't long before she began to tire out. And that was exactly what her brother was waiting for.

He dodged on or her attack and appeared in the air above her grabbing her by the neck and tossing her to the ground. She crashed to the ground before with earthshattering force, breaking both an arm and leg in the process, reverting to her human form.

"You've been out of the game for far too long, sister. " He said, landing gracefully in front of her. He picked her up off of the ground by her neck and dragging her back to the ruined house.

"Don't worry." he said softly as he dragged her along the ground and switching back to his normal form. "I don't intend to kill you yet. You, my dear get to suffer first. You're already seen your beloved husband die at my hands. Now.. you get to see that little halfbreed of yours die as well."

"NO! Varia! NOO!" She cried, sobbing uncontrollably, trying her best to squirm out of his grasp. "He's an innocent child! He doesn't deserve this!"

" It's true that' he's my nephew, and it's true that I could bring him back with me to be raised as one of us. But you know the rules. Any child born to one us us without the gift of magic dies." Varia replied, a hint of regret in his voice. "I could perhaps even overlook the fact that he is a halfbreed, but without the power, I wold have no use for him. For what it's worth, I am sorry."

"Mommy!" They heard Yuri call out. The child was kneeling over his father's corpse, crying uncontrollably. "Daddy won't wake up! What's wrong with him mommy?!"

"Your father is dead, child." Said Varia, calmly. "Don't worry though. You and your mother will join him soon."

"Mommy? Daddy's dead? Like the bug I stepped on yesterday??"

"Run away, Yuri!" Sera screamed, even though she knew it would be futile. She received a slap across the face for her trouble.

"Silence, woman. Accept your punishment with a little dignity."

Nose running, and tears streaming down his face, seeing his mother slapped, Yuri ran towards the man and started pounding on him with his tiny little fists. "Leave my mommy alone!"

Varia chuckled. "A spirited one isn't he, sister? Too bad he's only human..." He slapped the boy across the face, sending him flying. His tiny body rolled across the ground and smashed into the side of the house.

Sera's sobbing became hysterical.

"That should have been plenty to break his little neck. Now, dear sister, it's your turn." Varia said, raising his hand to deliver the final blow.

Then he heard groaning in the distance. "I said..." Little Yuri continued. "Leave my mommy alone!"

"What the hell?" Varia said in disbelief, as Sera stared incredulously.

The wind began to rustle, and a little vortex of wind picked up around the boy's feet. His grey eyes glowed a faint purple color. A high pitched shriek burst from his mouth, shattering the windows that remained intact.

"You've gotta be kidding me-" Varia started to say, but was cut off because the newly awakened child ws suddenly in front of him swinging a fist at his face. He blocked the punch with his forearm, but he had to admit that it hurt. He kicked the boy in the midsection, sending him flying once again. But this time he landed on his feet and came back for more.

"You should learn to respect your elders, boy!" Varia yelled, landing a chop to the boys neck, collapsing him.

"Don't worry, sister." He said, turning back to Sera. " He's only unconscious. It seems your little halfbreed just earned himself a place among the clan. Consider this my final gift to you..."

He picked the child up under one arm, and walked over to her, opening his mouth wide, and a huge flash of green lit up the night.

.......................................................................................................................................

Yuri woke up a few hours later in an infirmary bed at the Black Dragon Clan compound. Standing over him was a strange man he had never met before. He was really tall, with black hair and green eyes. He seemed oddly familiar.

"Where am I, Mister?" He asked the man weakly.

"Mister? " Varia replied softly with a smile. "Is that any way to greet your uncle, kid?"

He saw the boy's puzzled expression and continued. "I'm you Uncle Varia... your mother's brother. We've got a lot of things to discuss, you and I.But for now... just rest."

"Where are my mom and dad, Uncle... Varia?"

Varia put on a sorrowful expression, and left the child alone without a response.

........................................................................................................................................

In the care of the clan, Yuri changed a lot over the next fifteen years. After being told that his parents' true natures, and that hey had been killed by a group of dragon hating demonkind, his personality changed completely. He became quiet, withdrawn, and angry.

Initially, this anger made his blood boil.Any incident could send him off into a destructive rage. He caused more than hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages to the compound. But eventually, under Varia's tutelage, the anger that burned like flame changed into something as cold as ice. Once able to suppress his anger and use it as motivation, he excelled at every aspect of both combat and scholarly pursuits.

By the age of sixteen, he was well known in the magical world. Tall and muscular, with his bronzed skin, penetrating grey eyes, and his boyish face, women wanted him, not that he noticed. Being not only as strong as most of the adults, but also as intelligent, the men took notice of him as well. His icy demeanor, however, ensured that most kept their distance. Some even went as far as to call him the Varia II, although not within earshot of either of them.

Even though he hadn't yet completed his training, this was also the year he started accepting jobs on behalf on the clan. The Black Dragon Clan was, for all intents and purposes, an organization of supernatural assassins. Yuri also excelled at this, completing his jobs both quickly and efficiently, with no moral qualms to speak of.

Shortly before his 21st birthday, when he would be officially recognized as an adult by the clan, he was summoned into Varia's office.

"Hello, nephew." Varia said to him as he entered the room, shutting the door quietly behind him. "I'm happy to see that you could take the time out of your busy schedule to come and see me."

"Hello, Uncle." Yuri said quietly, with no emotion. "And Vicente." he added, looking over to an apparently empty space next to Varia's desk.

Vicente, the Nightwalker quickly made himself visible. "Lord Yuri." he said with a nod.

Yuri turned his attention back to Varia. "What can I do for you today, Uncle?"

"Your 21st birthday is in a couple of days. I just wanted to make sure that you had a full understanding of the Adulthood Ceremony."

"I do." Yuri replied curtly. "Is that all?"

"Show some respect!" Vicente all but yelled, pounding his large fist on the desk. "Not only does Lord Varia lead this clan, he is your uncle! You will speak to him accordingly!"

Yuri simply glared at the man, provoking him. He took a step toward Yuri, but Varia threw out his arm, motioning for him to stop.

"It's always like this, Vicente. It's not that Yuri is being disrespectful, he's just a straightforward person. Calm yourself. He's my family. There's no need for him to scrape and bow."

Vicente returned to his original position, and Varia continued.

"Have you thought of your Adult name yet, Yuri? You need to choose carefully. This is the name that you will carry with you the rest of your life."

"I have. I decided years ago."

"Oh?" Varia said, raising an eyebrow questioningly. "What did you choose?"

"The Black Wind."

Varia smiled. "One of Death's aliases. I'm impressed. Considering you record thus far, I think you'll be able to live up to it quite nicely."

"Thank you, Uncle. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have another job to attend to.I'll be leaving for Chicago within the hour." Yuri replied, standing up from his chair.

"Wait, Yuri." Varia said, stopping him just as he reached the door. "Didn't you just get back from a job this morning?"

"Yes." Yuri replied without turning around. "Is that a problem?"

Varia was quiet for a moment before responding. "We're much hardier than humans, Yuri, but we need rest just the same. Why so many jobs back to back? Why don't you take a break? Have a few drinks, have a woman or two before you go. Your ceremony is tomorrow.. why not celebrate?"

Yuri did turn around then, anger apparent on his face. "Because, Uncle, I look at these pitiful jobs of mine as extended training. The only thing on my mind is becoming stronger, and I'll accomplish that goal by any means necessary."

Varia stood up from his chair and walked over to his nephew, standing a few feet away from him. "Are you not powerful enough already, Yuri? You outclass nearly everyone in the clan as it is. Why do you push yourself so hard?"

"Because I intend to avenge my parents death." Yuri replied. "When I find whoever killed them, I plan to give them an end that would make Death himself cringe. I refuse to be so weak as to require your help this time around."

He stopped talking for a moment, thinking maybe he had gone too far. "I apologize Uncle. I'm very grateful to you for having saved my life. I only meant that this is something I need to do on my own. I cant live until their killers are dead, and dead by my own hand. Any happiness I might find before I've accomplished this goal will be meaningless."

Varia placed his hand on Yuri's shoulder. "I understand, nephew. Go now... I won't hold you up any longer.Good luck to you... Black Wind."

Yuri nodded and left the room.

Vicente waited a while before speaking. "I have to admit, My Lord... I'm glad that you stopped me earlier. My loyalty is absolute, and I would have fought him if necessary, but... that boy scares me."

Varia chuckled. "Well, he and I are related after all. That would make sense."

"He's not even afraid of you, is he?" Vicente continued.

"Fear is an emotion he beat out of himself long ago. Of course... he doesn't really know me that well, does he?"

"And what happens if the memory alteration cast on him fails My Lord?"

"I'll cross that bridge if and when I come to it..." Varia responded, his eyes glowing green.

Lynne and Dalon were born in spectacular gore. Their mother of mixed blood, had given birth to them in secret, away from the eyes of society. She had wanted to kill anything that had come from her; anything unnatural. Unfortunately one of the twins Lynne was born a little monster. She had picked up more of the dragon blood than her mother had ever possessed. Her heavy scales, spines and tail had shredded her mothers inside to ribbons.

* * * * *

"Dalon, get a shift on, were gonna be so late!" Lynne shouted along the corridor of their shared flat. She turned back to the mirror, watching as the spines along the side of her face slid back into her flesh, uncomfortable, but necessary. She focused on the scales that ran across her jaw line, as they sank beneath her porcelain skin. Her bright blue eyes shone out beneath her heavy black tresses. The glamour created to shield her tail flickered briefly, as it swayed in her agitation. She turned looking at the clock once more, before putting on her heavy black jacket.

"Oi, Snake, get you're arse in gear." Dalon's head popped round her door. His black hair was mussed, leaving the white tips in disarray. His handsome features often reminded Lynne of what she imagined their father may have looked like. High cheekbones glittering with fairy dust, under his large oddly glowing green eyes. He tilted his head at her mouthing "Come back to the real world, Little Lynne." He shook his head rather roguishly and left.

They both clamoured out of the door, looking highly ridiculous in their matching uniforms. Lynne chucked her bag over one shoulder leaning up against him for warmth before the real weathered set in. They bustled along, knocking into one another in a friendly manor, on the way to the bar. As the lights grew dim around them, overhead lights flickered along above them. Their feet picked up speed towards the club. Their long strides were evenly paced, they spun round and into the darkness surrounding the club.

Lynne left off to the right heading to the stage and beginning to set up for the girls who would be dancing tonight. Her slender frame bunched as she picked up the heavy boxes, her strength taken from her half dragon form; even though most of it was hidden. One of the skinny girls walked up to her, a timid look upon her face. "We need a fill in." She stated, before scuttling off under the glare of her blue eyes. She sighed to herself, it was rare for her to be called on, as most of the girls flinched in her presence. Many of them chose to call her Little monster, but this was only in the face of Dalon's rage when one of the men had taken it into his small mind to try and take the freak off into the back to... She shuddered at the thought.

Between Dalon and Lynne the club was set up quickly with very few set backs and they were ready to open. The light went down and the base stared to thrum through their spines, and people poured through the doors.

"Play it safe up their sis." he ran his eyes over her scant costume "I'd rather not have to come out from behind the bar." He shook his head turning to his work; while she wondered off into the dark of behind scenes.

OOC: Nice opening, Mercy :) glad to have ya!

IC:

After his meeting with his Uncle, Yuri returned to his room to prepare for his job.

He showered quickly, and changed into more suitable work attire. A pair of black cargo pants,a red sleeveless t-shirt that wouldn't hinder his movement, a pair of black combat boots, and his usual black trench. Once he had packed a change of clothes and his hygiene products into a duffel bag, he grabbed the black katana mounted on his wall and placed it into a hollowed out pool stick case, slung both over his shoulder and headed to the parking garage near the main gate.

He had chosen a job close to home this time around in order to get back in time for his ceremony, so he decided to drive himself, choosing his black Honda Shadow so he could enjoy the wind on the way. He rode out to the gate where he was greeted by one of the two usual guards.

"Leaving already, Yuri? Didn't you just get back this morning? Are you headed out for business or pleasure?"

When Yuri simply glared at him out of the corner of his eye, he answered his own question. "Business as usual!" And quickly opened the gate.

"Be safe, sir!" He called out as Yuri peeled out, and headed on his way.

Yuri reached the city about an hour and a half later, just as the sun was beginning to set.

There was no clan headquarters within the city limits, no safehouse, or set meeting grounds, so Yuri parked his bike at a convenience store and pulled out his cell to call his partner for this mission.

The phone rang twice before it was picked up. "Yuri!" said the voice on the other end, with a heavy Irish accent. "How the hell are ya?"

"Have I ever told you how annoying your voice is, Liam?" He responded softly.

"Many, many times, my friend." Liam responded, sounding amused. "Noooow... knowin you, I assume you're wantin to get directions to the meeting point?"

"That would be greatly appreciated, jackass."

Their conversations always went that way. Liam was one of the few people Yuri ever let his guard down with. He acted as though he couldn't stand him, but there were times when he genuinely enjoyed his company. Of course, there were also times he wanted to rip out his tongue...

Liam gave him quick directions from his current location and told him he'd be waiting outside for him.

"Just out of curiosity, Liam," Yuri added afterwards. "what kind of hellhole are you dragging me to this time?"

"Oh..." Liam replied nervously. "It's just a bar."

"What KIND of bar, Liam?"

Liam quickly started making static sounds with his mouth. "Sorry mate... cuttin out... reception... see ya soon!"

"Liam! Liam, you asshole!" Yuri yelled into the phone, drawing strange looks from passersby, but Liam had already disconnected.

No other options left to him, Yuri hopped back on his bike and headed towards this... bar.

Lynne stepped out, following the girls into the bright light of their small centre stage. At least tonight she would only really be used as a prop. Her long black hair had been combed out, before being put up to trail down her back. Her gaudy clothes glittered, shimmering out across into the bedazzled men. Her blue eye's glowed out into the darkness, she was not happy to be looked at. The girls to her left started to dance, their hips swaying seductively. She ignored them for the most, doing the least possible; as not to let the side down. She lifted girls, dutifully high, leaning upon her hidden tail as support for their ridiculous dancing.

She snarled inside, the cat calls reaching out to touch her ears. Eye's flickering over to Dalon, she gathered up reassurance from his steady face.

Dalon watched his sister, with dutiful eyes, glowering out into the darkness. He scanned the crowd for any malcontent in the customers. Easily sending the other barmaids to cool them down, with offers of drinks. He turned back to his duties.

"How can I help you my good sir?" He asked, his tone neutral and pleasing. He reached up for a glass, anticipating a pint of some sort. His head tilted away, "I can suggest a few different things if your interested?" His work was often dull while the girls danced. No one wanted to leave their seats or take their greedy eyes off his sister. He growled softly under his breath, and hoped that no trouble would come of this.

Lynne's eyes blazed out into the crowd, as she supported one of the girls who shook unsteadily. She quickly raised her tail, allowing her skirt to go with it and rapped it cautiously round her leg. She was conscious of the fact if she let her fall, she would be the one to bare the brunt of punishment. The girl flinched before calming down more steady. She slowly lowered the girl as the men clapped and left via the disgusting red curtain.

Yuri knew he had followed the directions properly when he saw Liam standing on the sidewalk in blue jeans, sneakers, and a black hoodie, with his arms crossed nonchalantly and a wry smile on his pretty boy face. Deadshot Liam Hayes, was originally a member of the Ireland division on the Clan, and you could tell this as first glance from the fair skin, and close cropped bright red hair. He and Yuri were of similar height and build, but were otherwise polar opposites.

Yuri parked his bike a few feet away, making sure to at least grab the case containing his sword. This wasn't exactly the fancy side of town, and while the items in his duffel bag, and even the bike itself were easily replaced, he didn't relish the idea of having to fly back to Japan to have Kensei forge a new katana.

"Jesus, Yuri, do ya have to carry that thing with you everywhere ya go?" Liam called to him shaking his head. " I swear, you're like a bloody toddler carryin his blankie around."

Yuri said nothing, instead looking up at the sign on the top of the brick building that read in neon pink "Strange Angles" with a raised eyebrow.

"As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted before..." Yuri said, walking over to stand eye to eye with his partner. "What kind of "bar" is this place, Liam."

"The Liam kind, boyo. In other words..." He said, grinning even wider. "The fun kind."

He fished a folded piece of paper out of his pants pocket before continuing. "And this is all the information I've gathered about our job, complete with stats and bios on each target." He pulled it back just as Yuri reached out to grab it. "And you're not layin a hand on it until ya agree to come inside with me for at least an hour or two. Unless..." He trailed off, seeing Yuri's eyes narrow. " You plan on takin if from me. I don't think Varia'd appreciate two A Rank clan members dukin it out in the middle of a crowded city, do you?"

He made his was to the entrance without waiting for a response. "Tha's what I figured." He said, followed inside by his grumbling partner.

"I'm tellin ya, boyo. Before we leave here tonight, I'm gonna make damn sure you remember what fun is."

Both Dalon and Lynne's heads shot up, their tongues flicked simultaneously, seeking; eyes closed, heads raised up. The light pooled over Lynne's high cheekbones, resting like a lover over her soft lips. Her glamour flickered, briefly showing the thick scales of her spine and her long pointed tail, as it whipped around. She shoved her uniform back on with haste, struggling where it caught on her shoulder. She let out a breath, calming herself and strode out to join Dalon behind the bar.

"What can I get you?" She asked leaning over the bar to get the gentleman's order. Her tail flicked uncertainly against Dalon's legs, telling him something was wrong. She spun round making drinks for the man and his lady. Hands quick and smooth, as her body moved to the beat of the bar. Her dark hair fell over her face hiding her most effectively from view. She felt Dalon's hand squeeze her arm briefly, comforting her. She new that nothing could go wrong here. She couldn't bare to move again. She nodded to him.

Dalon's quickly moved away from his sister, closing in on the side of the bar that was closest to the smell. He let a broad grin spread easily across his face, as he turned to the new comers.

"Can I help you gentlemen?" The smile that filled his face was rigid. He reached out a hand, picking up glasses and swirling them in his hands, as he often did when nervous. He poured them their drinks quickly, following Lynne's movements carefully. He sighed, loosening his shoulders.

"Have a good evening." He turned to go, before remembering to ask for the money. He looked over to them once more and to his amazement, Lynne was already their.

"That'll be 12 please." She let a grin spread across her face.

Yuri looked at the girl who had come up to him apathetically. He stared at her for a moment, and leaned his face closer to her, sniffing the air.

"I sense magic from you." He said almost in a monotone voice, irritated at having been conned into coming inside. "I can tell you're not human. Why are you here?"

Liam cut in before he could continue. "Um... excuse me friend here, miss. He doesn't have much in the way of social skills."

He reached into his back pocket, pulled out his wallet and handed her a hundred. "Go ahead and keep the change. Consider it compensation for my friend's bad manners, beautiful. I hope to see ya again before the night's over."

He all but dragged Yuri to an empty table near near the stage.

"What in the bloody hell is the matter with you, mate? A pretty young woman walks up and smiles at you, and the first thing out of your mouth is 'You smell funny, why are ya here'. Really??"

"That's not what I-"

"It may s bloody well have been! Have you ever spoken to a woman before, Yuri? I bet you're still a virgin arent'cha?"

Yuri grunted. "That's beside the poin-"

Liam almost fell out of his chair laughing. "Oh my god! You are! You're 2 days from being 21 and you've never even been with a woman?!" He managed to say between outbursts.

Yuri glowered at him. "Some of us actually take our duties seriously. I've got more important things to do than-"

"To live your life?" Liam said, suddenly very serious. "Because what you're doin isn't living, Yuri. All you ever think about is killin. You train every day so you can kill, you take jobs so you can get even better at killin. You spend every moment not doin one of those two things holed up in your room probably thinkin about more killin. There's more to life than death, Yuri."

Yuri was silent for a moment, too stunned by what his normally merry friend had just said. "You know why I have to get stronger, Liam... you know why I do what I do. You of all people should understand."

"I understand just fine." Liam replied, taking a large gulp of whatever was in his glass. "At least ya had the chance to know your parents before they died. At least you have memories of them. All I know of my parents is that my father killed my mother shortly after I was born, and then killed himself for creating a 'monster'. I wasn't lucky enough to be born normal like you were. My powers were active the moment I was conceived."

" I didn't know that, Liam... You never told me."

Liam flashed a weak half smile in his friend's direction. "It wasn't worth tellin. The point is, you and I both lost a lot in our lives. But where you turned out bitter and angry, thinkin only about what you lost, I focus on what what there is left to be gained and live my life to the fullest. You should try it sometime. Ya don't wanna look back on your life a thousand years from now and realize that you never really lived."

Yuri had been planning on giving Liam hell for slacking off, but he held it back. For the first time ever, Liam's words had really hit home.

"Maybe you're right..." He replied quietly.

"Of course I am. You should try listenin to me a little more often. I am technically your elder after all."

Yuri grunted. "By a year..."

"Details, details, boyo." Liam replied, seemingly back to his normal self. "Noooow... why dontcha take a gulp of that liquid courage and go apologize to that pretty little dragonness you were so rude to a minute ago? "

"Dragoness?" Yuri asked, raising an eyebrow. "I thought i felt some sort of familiarity there. How can you tell?"

"I see more than you do." Liam replied, looking at the girl from across the room. "I can see through whatever she's usin to hide herself. Nice tail on that one.I mean actual tail, not her arse... although that's not too bad either."

He paused to laugh at himself. " The guy behind the bar is the same. But anyway, quit stallin. Get up there!"

Yuri got up from the chair, and slowly walked over to the dark haired waitress. "Excuse me... Miss?" He said, barely audible over the music the women onstage were dancing to.

'This is gonna suck.' He thought nervously.

Lynne's face paled at the mans accusations. Her heart moving to thump in her throat, making it hard to swallow. Her eyes wide, she flicked her tail into the little empty space behind her. Her muscles clenched, rippling under the thick scales, ready for a strike. Liam stepped into her vision, all charming with his smiles, she returned one sweetly, and took the cash. Winked at him, just like she had been taught; to get more tips and turned from them.

Dalon watched the exchange, briefly seeing his sisters tail. He trailed a hand over her arm, knowing that she often needed lots of contact when distressed. He served the man next to her new customer, his leg pressed against hers. He could feel her eyes on him, as he made the drinks. A coil of his thick hair fell across his face, while he watched the men with interest. They moved apart, quietly getting used to the new presence, the bar filling up; keeping their minds busy.

As the music began to get heavy, Lynne felt it sink into her bones. Her body relaxed, swaying to the beat gently, before starting to dance as she worked. She felt the natural flow between each order. Her fear of the new comers dissipating. Her fluid grace made the men at the bar watch her, hair rippling out to frame her movements. She enjoyed the attention, especially because people thought her beautiful rather than freakish here. She took several orders at once to keep herself moving constantly. Her mind holding the drinks, numbers and people, before immediately having them drop, once they had been served.

Her movements faltered once she came round to the offensive man. She bared her teeth at him before he was even in range.

"Same again? Or have you come to insult me some more?" She quirked an eyebrow, all the while moving to the music. She brought down two glasses to the bar, they clattered loudly. The sound was thankfully lost in the din created by the music and the gathering crowd.

Dalon's head shot up at the crash of glasses. He watched her moves grow aggressive, wondering if he should intervene. He looked up at the boss, sitting on a barstool, acting as their bouncer for the night. It quickly passed through his mind to get them chucked out. He shook his head, they hadn't actually done anything wrong. He watched Lynne for signs of distress.

"Lynne, my little love, is anything wrong?" he asked quietly, knowing she'd hear, even from across the bar. She turned shaking her head, and he returned to his work.

She watched the man, taking note of his handsome face. Spinning gently to get their drinks, if he wanted them or not, she glanced at his companion. She noted him watching, before returning with the drinks. Her hips swayed seductively and she smiled doing her best.

"I'm sorry to bother you again..." Yuri said to the woman. He was already uncomfortable, but her movements an her pretty smile were making him more and more nervous. And the fact that he knew both Liam and the dark haired man behind the bar could both hear the conversation didn't help much.

"I just um... I wanted to apologize for my behavior earlier. I'm... not accustomed to ... er... social situations. And it's not often that I meet a.. special person who chooses to live alongside humans.Maybe we can... sit down and discuss it sometime?"

He flashed what he hoped looked like a warm smile at her before accepting the drinks she offered. "I get the feeling I'm gonna get dragged in here a lot more often now... I mean, not that I'm saying it's a bad place or anything, I've just never been to a place like this since I'm only 20 and..oh crap. Don't humans have to be 21 before they can drink?"

He realized he was babbling and shook his head, cutting himself off. "My name is Yuri." he said, smiling nervously. I'm gonna tuck my tail between my legs and run away now."

As he turned to walk back to his table, he locked gazes with the man behind the bar. He inclined his head in his direction slightly, almost a small bow, as a sign of respect and started to walk away.

Lynne's blood boiled, her teeth lengthening in her mouth. Which was now clamped shut, so as not to frighten the customers. Dalon appeared at her side, seamlessly grabbing her hand and yanking her towards him. His eyes burned down into her scull, he wasn't angry at the man though, more at her. Shame dashed across her face, she looked down at her small hand, covered in his white knuckled grip. 'Special person' it tasted bad in the mouth, and even worse when tainted with Dalon's obvious dislike of her attitude.

She grunted, lightly pushing him off her. "I'm fine." She shook her head, walking over to their boss. She asked quietly if this would be a good time for her brake, in between rushes. He nodded silently and she picked up one of the drink laden trays headed in their direction.

Dalon watched his sister go passing out drinks, with open smiles and cheeky winks. His mind wondered to the strangers words, mulling them over in his mind as he pulled pints for a group of young men. He pondered quietly where else they might live, if not with the humans... He shook his head knowing that Lynne would get the answers one way or another. A smile lit his face as he watched her sway so seductively, sometimes she got more attention that the girls dancing, even if it didn't go down well.

She paused casting a shadow over the two men. Tilted her head to one side, an unconscious submissive gesture, she knew they were way out of her league.

"So are you going to pay for these drinks?" She peered into Yuri's face, her blue eyes glowed bright. "Usually, when a man introduces himself he waits long enough for me to answer, with my own name." She her face shone down on Liam, who looked like the less grouchy and a far more charming man. She glanced down, realising in her haste to dress before, she still had her dance skirt on. So she sat down quietly and waited for them to tell her what was going on.

"LEGEND! THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE!"

Outside the city a figure--no, a creature rushed on all fours through underbrush and out into the open, zig zagging to avoid being hit in case they fired. The beast lept over park benches, dodged passers by and bounded over fountains. When met by this beast, the humans simply felt a swift brush of air that smelled of lillies and roses. The men followed swiftly after, but not fast enough to catch it. The beast made its way into the city streets, now dodging cars and vehicles. A helicopter tried to fly after it, but the beast was to quick to be caught by the spotlight. Armed vehicles roared down the street their sirens screeching in the night air

The beast plowed the street with massive force, carrying its lupine body expertly through the traffic--as if it knew where she was going, where it needed to be. The cars parted to make way for the officials, their flashing lights and sirens ripping the calm city asunder. They were gaining on the beast and it knew they were getting to close.

Then I'll have to go out with a bang...

The beast stopped abruptly, digging its claws into the asphalt and stopping it in its tracks. The trucks sped towards her and she simply...crouched. The truck passed over the beast and brakes screeched to stop the truck and turn it around. The beast launched itself after the truck and its claws dug into the metal like a hot knife into butter. Gunshots rang out in the street and the beast rolled out of the way, escaping the holes that followed it. More gunshots as the second truck came up to the side of its ally. The beast leapt at the shooter, who hung from the window and ripped him from the cabin, tossing him into the street. The beast swung itself into the drivers seat and clawed at the passenger, shredding his face like ribbons. Then--it drove. It drove the truck like a human would.

The truck it commendeerd smashed into the second one as the beast reached across the seat for the passengers gun. Then- its fired the gun--as if it knew how to use it. The passenger of the other truck was struck first and blood dappled the windsheild as the driver tried to regain control. Once again the beast smashed the vehicle into the other while emptying the clip in the gun. Once finished, it tossed the useless hunk of metal from the window. Ahead of both trucks, an abandoned building awaiting their approach. The beast knew this and stared the driver in the eyes, taunting him. He smashed his truck into the beasts and took his eyes off the road long enough to give the beast time to flee. It placed the body of the passenger in its seat, its foot upon the pedal and ripped the metal seperating her from the back cabin. It broke through and burst open the doors to hit the pavement running just as the two vehicles crashed into the structure, sending an explosion of fire and black smoke into the night.

The massive explosion sent the beast flying head over heels into a nearby wooden shack. Its body smashed through the wall and the beast lay still atop a pile of shattered bricks. Black liquid seeped from crimson wounds on the beasts body from the impact and landing and for a moment, all was quiet. The copter's light flooded the tiny shack and the beasts body could now been seen as a lupine figure and not as a blackened blur.

A crowd of people rushed in the streets to the accident along with members of the military. Members of the Black Dragon Clan even could be seen amoung the citizens. A man burst through the bar doors and shouted, 'They caught it! They finally caught Legend!"

OOC: Thanks for poppin in Mercia :) Good to see ya. Hmmm... this is gonna take some thought.

IC:

Liam laughed. "Well... I did warna ya he didn't have much in the way of social trainin. Now, Yuri... be a good boy and ask the pretty girl her name."

"Asshole..." Yuri muttered under his breath.

"I'm sorry... I didn't get the feeling you wanted me bugging you." He said to the waitress. "Can I um... ask your name?"

But before she was able to reply, Yuri's cell rang, blasting the All That Remains song he had as his ringtone.

"I'm sorry... I have to take this." He said, standing up quickly. "Would you mind holding that thought for just a minute?" He added before walking a few feet away.

"Yeah?" He said, mildly irritated as he flipped the phone open and pressed it to his ear. he was greeted by Vicente's deep voice on the other end.

"Yuri? We have a situation and it's headed you way. I know you're already on a job, but this takes priority at the moment. We've got other members in the area, but you and Liam are the highest ranking members in the entire city right now, so you've got jurisdiction."

Yuri looked over at the woman sitting at the table, with an expression of disappointment. "Liam! We've got work." He said to his partner, who hastily stood up from the table and made his way over.

"What's the situation?" He asked Vicente, suddenly hearing the sound of helicopters.

"A Beastkin called Legend. We don't have a lot of intel on it, but there is some information Lord Varia thinks we may be able to obtain from it's interrogation. It's being pursued by the human military near your area right now. Your job is to Legend away the humans and bring it back to the compound.Use whatever force you deem necessary. Understood?"

"Yeah... understood." Yuri replied, ending the call. "Did you catch all that, Liam?" He asked his partner, figuring his keen hearing would have picked up most of the conversation.

"Ready when you are, mate." Liam replied, removing his hoodie and revealing a black muscle shirt and the two handguns he always had holstered at his sides.

Yuri walked over to the waitress as Liam headed to the door, leaning down next to her. "I'm sorry for the interruption.. I'd really like to finish this conversation, but-"

The sound of screeching tires, followed by a nearby explosion that shattered windows and rocked the entire building silenced him, along with everyone else in the bar. The music stopped and people started to panic.

"We're out of time, Yuri!" Liam yelled from just outside the doors. "Get your arse out here!"

A low growl escaped Yuri's lips as he made his way to the door, grabbing the case containing his sword as he went. "Everyone!" He called out to the people inside before walking outside and shutting the door behind him. "Stay calm, and stay inside!"

The scene awaiting him once he stepped outside was one of complete carnage. There was flaming wreckage everywhere, and the fire was beginning to spread to homes and businesses all around. Not the mention the bar across the street had had half its front wall busted in and was currently surrounded by a couple dozen humans armed with high powered rifles. A couple of military choppers hovered overhead, shining their searchlights where the men stood.

The lower ranking members of the clan, standing within the crowd that had gathered, noticed he and Liam immediately, some making there way to their position, but he waved them away.

Yuri removed the hollow pool stick case from his shoulder and started to remove his katana. "You take the ground, Liam. I've got the sky. "

When Liam smiled and nodded his approval, he removed the black bladed sword and plunged the tip into the concrete, dropping to one knee and feeding the blade his energy. 'Hide us from from the sight of our foes, spirit of the wind' He thought, and the ears of everyone within a two block radius popped from the pressure as wind blasted the ground, creating a huge cloud of dust.

Invisible to the men coughing and gasping for air, Liam shot forward with his guns drawn, tracking by heat signatures. Within seconds he had shot the guns from the hands of all the soldiers standing there. As he did this, Yuri let out a soft roar as his claws broke through the skin of his fingertips and toes. Using the claws for traction he literally ran straight up the front wall of the bar and then leaped off at the top, cutting cleanly through the tail of one of the helicopters, which fluttered awkwardly to the ground, crashing, but not exploding.

He repeated the process with other helicopter, coming from the opposite direction as Liam quickly and efficiently incapacitated the unarmed men with a neck chop here, and a fist to the gut there.

When all was said and done, they stood side by side over the semi conscious Legend.

"Now how the hell do ya suggest we get out of here with this thing in tow without bein seen?" Liam asked, with annoyance.

The world was muffed and quiet as Legend opened her ears to the outside. She could hear her breath raspy and ragged and she could smell blood. Her own blood mixed with fire and smoke. Her mind told her to get up and run but her body wasn't reacting as fast as it should be. A great pain surged through her as she tried to lift herself up and she realized she was wounded--to the point where she couldn't get up. The impact from smashing into the wall had caused her back to dislocate enough to hinder all movement--an impact that would have killed any other creature. Then, she could hear voices...standing in front of her. Silver eyes opened slightly to see smoke and two blurry figures, speaking in a language she either couldn't understand or couldn't comprehend at this point in time.

-without bein seen?" Ah, there it was. It seemed they were trying to help her and since she couldn't tell the difference between friend or foe, she decided to take the risk. Her instincts kicked in and her eyes phased in color to that of a shadowy blue. Her body began to shift and take shape and the lupin creature turned into something...of legend. Blackened scales formed over the fur, horns and a tail grew and wings ripped from her back. The bones snapped into place with a sickening crack and the true beast took over to save her. She was no ordinary Beastkin. The dragon, the size of an eighteen wheeler, now stood in place of the beast. She held up one claw and slammed it to the ground. The smoke that continued to rise from the wreckadge seems to slow...then stop. The voices all around then faded away and the dust that covered them hung in place. Time had ceased for everyone except the three. The dragon, not wanting to waste the oppertunity her Primal Beast had given her, gently took up Liam in one claw and Yuri in the other, leaned up on her back legs and slammed her wings to the ground. The dust moved in response, but at an inchworms pace as the Dragon ascended into the air. She flew inbetween helicopter blades as they swung lazily in their circle and into a patch of clouds...away from the city. When they were out of sight and a few miles high in the air, time sped back up and the roars of angry soldiers called out to them.

Before long, they were a mile out of the city and as fate would have it, the Instinct left her as she descended quickly to the ground. She gently dropped the two men on the grass a few feet above the ground as her body shrank to regain its true from. The bones cracked out of place again as she hit the ground, unable to stop herself and the beast known as Legend was gone...leaving a deathly pale, emaciated woman in the grass. Her eyes were that of a beasts and her claws still wicked but other than her golden slited eyes and her deadly sharp nails--she was a woman who seemed to be in her mid twenties. Her clothes--no--her uniform was that of a white prison suit. The back of the uniform and on her forearm was a code--73531\1D.

"Don't--t-take--me...b-back. Ta-ake me...a..."

Her words were femanine, high pitched in tone and full of pain. In her state, speaking would have been impossible if she were anything but what she was. Her blackened blood stained the grass around her as the minor contousions from glass and splintered wood continued to bleed. Her pupils dialted and her raspy breathing fell quiet as her body forced itself into a state of rest by knocking her unconsious. She hoped that when she awoke she would be anywhere. Anywhere but there.

Ayla watched them go, sitting silently waiting, before getting up. She and her brother steered all the people out, like sheep dogs. Their symmetry astounding to watch. Once all the punters had gone, they slipped out back picking up their bags and coats. Lynne's teeth clattered at the crashing outside. They came out walking towards their boss. Each move mirrored, as their eyes glowed predator like. Lynne ignored her ridiculous skirt, as they had no time to change.

"We will clean up tomorrow. Go home safely, and soon." Their voices eerily harmonised to one another. Neither blinked looking down at the man, their height towering above his. They nodded slightly at him.

Long strides took them to the door. Dalon, once more grabbed his sisters arm. He didn't flinch, as he watched her spines slide out of her skin, making wet noises. They protruded from her neck, arms and spine, piercing her uniform. Her teeth lengthened dramatically, their white shine luminous in the light inside. He pulled her out of the door, as her glamour raised to cover the new changes in her body.

"We cant follow them." He looked down at her stern, he was worried about her sudden change. He was used to her being sarcastic to cover for her being lonely. Not violent and aggressive, never to this point at least. She seemed almost excited. They had always leant against one another, being so detached from humanity had made them stronger as a team.

"I wont do anything stupid!" She pulled her arm from his grip, spines scraping along his flesh. Her eyes went wide "I only want to see where they go." She pushed her face into his shoulder, rubbing it against her forehead. It was a gesture of familiarity. She hoped her wouldn't be mad.

They both stopped and watched as the huge thing lifted off, carrying both the new men. Tongues flickering out in rhythm. He turned looking at her and she knew she was forgiven and had permission. She picked him up lightly in her arms, like she would a child, setting off at a steady pace. Her uneven gait, at holding him, didn't last long, as she leant low, streamlining their bodies. She pushed darkness out of her lungs, before speeding up. Her strides lengthened, pulling beautifully on her black hair that whipped behind her.

She came to full speed as they entered the main roads, Weaving in and out of the cars with steady graceful timing. She laughed, as Dalon yelped in her arms. She watched the minimal traffic, drunks stumbling, druggies jittering and the sweet homeless sleeping. Taking in every detail as it blurred past her face. The people who saw her, though most didn't, couldn't believe their eyes and swiftly forgot the hauntingly pale girl with dark hair, carrying a man far larger than herself.

"Left or right? I can always scale a building for a better view!" She couldn't waste time. Knowing they wouldn't stay put for long, she put on the last of her speed. The building zoomed closer.

"Left left!" Dalon yelled, his ears roaring with the wind as he spun into her chest, closing his eyes. He wished this time he could have carried her, it was always less frightening that way. He squeezed in tight, feeling her muscles twitch and pull as she changed direction suddenly. They rushed past suburbia, without a face seen, it was too late for these people.

Lynne let out a roaring whoop, as they burst beyond the city perimeters. Enjoying the forgiving earth, as she pushed through farms hedges and let all her glamour and darkness go. Her eyes glowed out into the dark. She nodded to herself, knowing they were near. She made her steps silent, slowing to a jog. Finally stopping next to a tree, the next field over from their smells.

"Please tell me we didn't lose them?" She whispered to Dalon, falling back against the tree, enjoying the quite burn in her muscles. It had been to long since she had run so freely. Looking up at the shy, she sighed.

Dalon peered around the tree, somewhat shaken.

Liam and Yuri stood next to each other, neither quite sure of what to say.

"Please tell me that I just had a few too many and this is some alcohol induced nightmare!" Liam said after a while, shaking his head in disbelief. "This bloody chick, and believe me, I use that term loosely... she just went from some sort of werewolf, to a full sized bloody dragon, and then turned into a damn woman. I can't even begin to tell yo how many things are wrong with this picture!"

"I don't disagree with you there. This is a bit much to handle." He said, kneeling over Legend's body wit hhis hands outstretched, using flows of wind like sutures to try and seal her wounds. "Our ancestors left this world thousands of years ago. Only random half breeds like us were left behind. I can't even begin to imagine how many combinations of how many bloodlines over how many generations it would take to produce something like... her. This is probably the reason why our clan has the taboo against the joining of bloodlines."

He stood up, confident that he had done all he could for her, wiping sweat from his brow with the back of his hand.
"Don't think on it too much, Liam. You might hurt yourself." He said in a somewhat teasing manner.

"Haha... " Liam replied, regaining some of his composure. "You tellin a joke is hands down way more odd than anythin this chick could throw at me. Keep it up and I may start thinkin you have a soul."

Yuri chuckled lightly before reaching down and gently picking the woman up, careful to avoid reopening her wounds. "I'm headed back to the compound. Normally I'd carry you with me, but I've obviously got another passenger this time around, so... enjoy hoofing it.Unless you want me to try the whole wind walking thing on you again..."

"Ohhhhhh no... not happenin." Liam replied, taking a step back. "The last time we tried that, I ended up pukin all over meself. I'll walk. The sky wasn't meant for me."

Yuri grunted involuntarily as the large black wings pierced through his shoulders, ripping through the the shoulders of his leather jacket.

"See you when you get back." He said as he took off, his powerful wings kicking dust into Liam's face.

"Bloody showoff..." Liam said before running through the forest after him.

(Occ: Sorry about the previous short post, I'v beefed it up now!)

"Their going." He whispered to his sister, watching as Yuri sprouted wings taking the small woman with him. He frowned, looking down on Lynne's up turned face. Her eye's were closed, face finally relaxed, a light smile playing across her lips. She opened her eyes, watching him, watch her.A moment of clarity passed through the glowing gaze, planting it in both their minds. They couldn't let them get away, knowing what they were. They hadn't had to fight for freedom in awhile, nor would they enjoy doing it again.

"Liam, right?" Her voice rang out into the now silent night. She looked down at her tattered dress. At least if she was going to need to walk home again, she wasn't going empty handed. She watched Dalon's shock, shook her head quietly at him. A laugh broke from her lips, at his frantic gestures to her tail and spine. Biting her lip, she put a hand on the tree, to support her weight as she got up. She shook the tired feeling from her limbs.

"Dal, you're with me right?" she asked quietly, as they waited to see if Liam would come see them. She paused with a hand hovering over his beautiful face, more human than she would ever be. Letting the hand drop to her side, she let her smile fall with it.

Dalon sat down at her feet, bumping into them. Sometimes, his sister was a bit much. He played his hand along one of the spines running down her arm. "Always." he whispered, letting her move away from him. He looked up at the moon, thinking of what a sweet life they had at the moment. Sure they weren't happy, forever hiding, but at least no one bothered them. He sighed.

Lynne peered round the tree to look at him.

"Oh, Shoot, he's off." Without a backwards glance she shot after him, she could always come back for her brother. Her long hair snagged in trees uncomfortably, the clothes torn by thorns, due to her rush. She raised her tail high out of the way. She could see him just a little in front of her. She enjoyed the stretch of trying after something surpassing her strength or speed. Teeth clenched, she tried to go faster, tripping lightly. She compensated with her tail, 'so close'. In the forest with so little light, she enjoyed not seeing the definite lines of trees and bushes, more the abstract colour blend. It made the chase that much more fun. Her eyes dilated as she called on her darkness, spreading out before him. She lunged forwards.

Dalon watched his sister sprint off at full pelt, at least this time he wasn't in her grasp. He walked slowly into the field they had once occupied, following the scent of blood. He reached down, touching his fingers to it's slick surface, almost oily between his fingers. Bringing it to his lip's, touched it to his tongue, swelling it round, before spitting it out. Pure blood, how much bad luck could they get tonight? Looking around, he crouched down on all fours. His mind went still, the slight popping of his joints hurt. His body lengthened, tail growing painfully from his spine, till he formed a hideous pale skinned dragon. He grunted, effort causing him to sweat, as thick black scales pushed out, feeling them spread over his body.

He turned to the sky, still smelling the scent and heat signature left over by Yuri. He lifted his light form, he was far to light and fragile to be called a warrior dragon, more like a child in form. His wings beat experimentally, before he took off in a casual flight, following their direction. He hoped it wouldn't go near the city as he would not go there.

The humming sound of elecrticity surging through the air made the hair on her skin lift. Legend was sitting in a blindingly bright white room with one chair and a table across from her. Unlike most Q&A's, Legend was chained to one spot by her neck, wrists and ankles, a muzzle secured tightly round her face. The collar strapped above the chains beeped once and sent her body into a violent fit of shaking as volts of electrical force were sent into her from an unseen force. Her body tensed once the surge was finished and she let out a heavy pained sigh, awaiting what would be next for her.

A man in a white lab coat followed by two armed guards entered the room. He adjusted his glasses with both hands--he was chained as well. At the sight of the man, she whimpered, her eyes wide and full of sorrow. At the sight of the girl the man nearly broke down.

"Scheris!"
"Father!"

He rushed for her and fell to his knees near her, trying the best he could to embrace her as she curled into his arms like a frightened pup. She nuzzled her head into his chest and in response to her affection he stroked her long silver hair giving her calm reassurance through 'sshhh' and hums. He spoke to her in a whisper in French so the guards could not understand them.

"Ma chère fille, il y a le petit temps. Vous devez partir -- ils vous ont l'intention de blesser dans les façons que je ne peux pas permettre."
(My dear girl, there is little time. You must leave--they are planning to hurt you in ways I cannot allow.)
"Le père, je ne peux pas partir sans vous. Promettre vous me serez fourni avec. ..I ne veut pas être seul. "
(Father, I can't leave without you. Promise you'll come with me...I don't want to be alone.)

The guards, knowing something was amiss moved to remove the scientist from the room.

Non, Scheris, vous devez fuir. Je serai bien ici, ils ne peuvent pas me blesser. S'il vous plaît, aller. ..run aussi vite que vous pouvez et partez. Vous les ne pas permettre de ne pas prendre.
(No Scheris, you must flee. I will be fine here, they can't hurt me. Please, go...run as fast as you can and get away. Don't let them catch you.)
Père...
(Father...)

He slipped a small object into her hair and wrapped it so that it hung at the back of her head--a straightened out paperclip. It blended exceedingly well with her silvery hair and her held her close, kissing her forehead. The guards grabbed one of his arms and hoisted him up. Scheris got up, pulling her chains taught and leaning her body towards her father. He leaned his hands to grace her cheek around the muzzle and whispered to her as they pulled him away.

"Je vous aime..."
"That's enough frenchy, back to work with you!"

The guard shoved the scientist hard in the back of the head and Scheris growled vehemethly. She lunged from the wall to attack the guard as her teeth elongated and eyes slitted. Her hair stood up on end as if it were fur and her hands curled as if to strike the guards. She roared with beastial vigor and even behind the muzzle her teeth gleamed like diamonds. The roar sent one of the guards running while the other pointed his gun in her face. There was a beep from her collar and her body tensed and became rigid as the electricity flowed through her body. She stood still glaring at the guard. A voice over an intercom stated; Enough. The guard reluctantly pulled his gun from her face and dragged the scientist out the door, leaving her alone once again. She fell to her knees and curled her legs into her chest once the surge stopped and rubbed the tattoo of the code on her arm. She shook in her cell, not because she was in pain or that she was cold...but because she was alone.

In the arms of Yuri the woman known as Legend was cold as ice, as if death was ready to take her. Scars from previous fights were scattered all over her skin but the worst scar and the most easily classified was a burn mark that encircled her neck. It seems there was more to this girl than the military let on. Her silver hair moved slightly in the wind and in her sleep her head moved to rest gently against Yuri's chest. She was mumbling in french in her sleep, calling out to someone who couldn't hear her.

As he was racing through the woods toward the clan compound, jumping from tree branch to tree branch, the win shifted directions, drawing his attention to a very familiar scent. He jumped to another branch, grabbing it with both hands, singing up an over an landing on th3e ground. He heard footsteps approaching him quickly.

"Oy!" He called out in the direction the steps were coming from. "I seem ta remember Yuri tellin everyone to stay inside the var, not to follow us and go gallavantin through the damn woods, woman."

He waited until she caught up before continuing. "I know me boyo caught your attention and all, but ya really shouldn'ta followed us here.Ya need to turn back now... go back to your normal everyday life. You get in too deep here and you'll never get out, er... what was your name again?

........................................................................................................................................
Yuri had a basic understanding of French, but even so, the words the woman muttered in her sleep didn't make much sense to him, random as they were. Concerned that her condition may be worsening, he picked up the pace as much as he cold without harming her further.

The old man who guarded the gate fell over when Yuri blasted by overhead. He picked himself up, trying to catch his breath and grabbed his radio from it's case attached to his hip. "Lord Yuri is back. Looks like he's got someone with him. From the looks of it, they're gonna need a medical team."

Yuri landed in the silently middle of the central courtyard, hit feet still leaving cracks in the polished stone. The team from the infirmary rushed out to meet him, but waited until his large wings retracted back into his skin before coming too close.

He placed the woman on the stretcher they brought up as gently as he could. "I know I don't have to tell you, but please, be careful with her. If she wakes up before I come to see her, for your own sakes, don't do anything that might make you appear threatening.Understood?"

"Yes sir!" The men sounded off one after another before wheeling her off to the infirmary.

Yuri stood there for a moment watching them go. Then all of a sudden, a dark scowl passed over his face. He reached out with his left hand and grabbed an invisible Vicente by the throat, lifting him off the ground, flipping him over his shoulder an slamming him into the ground in front of him hard enough to shatter the concrete.

"Yuri! What are you doing?" The large man said, or at least tried to.

Yuri leaned down over the man, putting more pressure on hims in the process, smashing him farther into the rock. "Where is my uncle?!" He asked with his teeth bared angrily.

"I...I'm not sure!" Vicente replied between gasps.

"Don't LIE TO ME!" Yuri said in a voice that was a yell and a roar at the same time. His eyes were beginning to glow, but the normal purple glow was tinged with red. VIcente knew he would not ask again.

"He's in the auditorium... making preparations for your ceremony! Please.. let go!" he pleaded, gripping Yuri's wrist in both of his hands, although to no avail. Yuri simply lifted him up, swung his arm out in a wide arc, and tossed him, causing him to slide across the ground, before storming off to the auditorium.

Person after person who crossed his path as he walked dashed quickly to the side, knowing well his temper, and fearing would be directed at them. Once he finally made it to the auditorium, he nearly took the doors off the hinges.

Everyone in the room aside from Varia himself, starred at him in wide eyed disbelief.

"Leave us!" Yuri yelled, his echoing voice seeming all the louder. The rooms other inhabitants skittered away like cockroaches.

"Is there something I can do for you, my nephew?" Varia asked calmly, a hint of a smirk on his face.

"What the hell do you find amusing about this situation? Because sending my partner and I on a moments notice, with no information, to capture a creature that neither of us have ever encountered, who could have likely killed us both isn't something I find fucking funny!!"
