~BEGIN TRANSMISSION~
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The OMNINET signal which emerged from the depths of Caliphate Space once again began to hijack the weaker signals within Wing City, and many other a location, but, for one of the first times, the message was meant for a specific audience, not so much a "shock and awe" affect they were desired in the past, when they broadcasted across multiple systems not of their own. As the signal gathered strength, one could make out from the static the Crest of the Caliphate, and the dual flags of Buddislam flying behind it, and as the feed was established, a scrolling text feed appeared at the base of the screen, sending by important happenings, if only the ones deemed appropriate by the Caliphate...
The gaudy introduction sequence, with its ritual chanting, finally ended, and the true message of the broadcast began, with the two Anchors sitting at the table, the same two as before, both dressed in the same militaristic attire, the man, who looked to be Aryo-Arabic, and the woman, who seemed to be more Sino-Aryan, with both of their breasts adorned with medals, ribbons, and breast flares, the woman even wore a Sash Order, and a ceremonial shamshir dangled from her waist belt. The man was the first to speak, as he did such, the red lace epilets attached to his shoulder-boards shook as if they'd just been subject to an earthquake, raising his hand, palm facing the camera in the traditional greeting,
"
Asalaam 'Alaykum. We do apologize for the interruption of your program, however, we've recently attained an Edict, straight from the Sultan himself, concerning some of the more recent happenings in Wing City, and the Caliphate believes it should give its own views on the recent happenings."
The man stopped, and glanced only for a moment to the woman, whose left cheek had a disfiguring scar upon it, which she wore like any of her decorations. before returning his gaze to the camera, still with a pseudo-smile upon his face as he awaited her to continue, and she spoke up, with a slight oriental accent,
"
It has come to the Caliphate's attention, despite our relative distance from Wing City itself, of the recent, how should we put it, the VRS Debate, for lack of a better term. While at first, it seems there would be no conflict on this issue, seeing as how every other one of us has to fill out a form for citizenship of some government, stating our age, sex, race, and whatnot, and considering Vampiric Citizens unique needs, it could greatly benefit them, and it does, now many are not pursued for their race, they're not hunted, and can sustain themselves legally. In all honesty, why would one rebel against this? Which is the question that so many in the Caliphate ask, "Why do they rebel against this?" Which raises the question: Do they think themselves better than the rest of us? We have to, but they don't? Such is not the way of salaam, my friends, it certainly is not."
The woman shook her head, eyes closed, almost slightly ashamed as the other anchor took over once more, a scroll of paper sitting on the table beside his right forearm, which he glanced at before taking over,
"
The Sultan has issued a decree, and as such, all Vampiric Citizens of the Caliphate have already registered themselves, and are on welfare sustenance programs recently instituted by the Caliphate as of yesterday, but this decree is not meant for those in the Caliphate so much as those outside of it, the 'Resistance' movement, the anarchistic ruffians who roam the streets of Wing City when darkness falls. Already have two buddislamic Merchants not returned from that place, and we intend for no more to follow their path. The decree contains, quite a bit of... should I say, threats... I'll try to shorten it, as much as possible, considering our time restrictions..."
He then took up the scroll, and looking as regal as possible, summed it up in a surprisingly short statement.
"
The Caliphate will have none of your anarchistic terrorism."
The man blinked twice before continuing, setting the scroll aside, taking a fairly stoic, cold face,
"
The Caliphate wants no bloodshed. If you are as peace-loving as you say, then by registering, you should have nothing to fear. The Caliphate offers protection to any who register, for those who do pursue the path of true salaam. The Sultan offers his personal guarantee that any and all who register shall not be harmed, by anyone. Not Hunters, not the VRS, not the Caliphate, and most certainly not retribution against so-called 'collaborators' by the terrorists who label themselves 'The Resistance'. The only thing these fascists resist is peace and tolerance. In the words of the prophet..."
It was at this moment that both anchors spoke in unison,
"
All those followers of peace, of good; fear not the end, for even if you are absent from his faith, you shall pass on in bliss, into the Kingdom of Heaven. But be warned those who raise themselves above others, who profit from suffering and misery, who make themselves more than any other, more deserving soul, shall feel the might of Buddallah as he smites their soul into oblivion, for they surely are the servants of Shaitan."
The woman sighed, and after looking to the other anchor, spoke up,
"
Now that we've covered the issues of external policy, I hear that IV Nodiexo will have a good moisture harvest this year, Asat."
The other anchor's face brightened instantly, who was a former farmer from the barrens of IV Nodiexo before he volunteered during the insurrection, and he answered readily,
"
Oh yes! The Great Sea was kind to the barrens this year, bestowing them much rain, even allowing some moss to grow in the canyons, the wind-traps and moisture vaporizers were almost overflowed..."
It was from this point on the signal became weaker and weaker, the topics discussed concerning few but those within the Caliphate, while the inter-solar transmitter within the depths of Caliphate Space was powering down, the signal becoming limited exclusively to Caliphate stations, with the OMNINET's broadcasts returning to normal, the feed was lost, and few realized what they just saw, but many, on the other hand, did...
