Any you think may be pertinent to the game. You can make an application to play an ancillary character if you like.

If I joined it would probably someone like Miyamoto Musashi, or Sin Tzu. Sin Tsu was the master of war, and developed extremely well developed tactics for the emperors of his time to indulge in. Musashi was the Samurai to never be defeated in a single solitary swordsman battle till his death by disease. Even wrote his own book about war and battle, and at heart, he was a evil man who had a lust for battling for some reason.

I would like to request War and I would like my historical character to be Julius Ceaser. Famously quoted as saying, "Let us march on and go where the gods' omens and our enemies crimes summon us. The die is cast." (At the crossing of the Rubicon, 49 BC) there is little doubt that this man embodied the very essence and spirit of war, his entire reputation was built upon it. A man loved by his soldiers and feared by his enemies, so much so they murdered him, there are few other figures in the classical period, indeed in history, who are as great a soldier as Julius Ceaser. No man is better suited to be the very symbol of war then he.

I don't want to play a horseman of the apocalypse. I'm actually more interested in playing an ancillary human character, and displaying that humans, much like cockroaches, can stay alive no matter how hard you try to kill them.

To that end, I just want to play meddling human characters over the entirety of history, not the people looking for Lucifer, but the people advancing the glory of humanity. Also, here's the well-written fanfic that's my inspiration for some of this.

I said I'd apply for your roleplay, even if I'm unsure if I have the talent you're wanting.

If I was accepted, I wish to apply for the role of the Horseman of War... however, my "celebrity" might be a bit difficult.

I have in mind Gilgamesh from Mesopotamian history. However, since his existence is debatable at best, I have no idea if you find his role acceptable.

If you would have me choose another character, if I even meet your prerequisite skill level, ask and I will comply.

He's happy now. Or is death the end of the dream? Is it a failure of hope?

Skallagrim, you're accepted, with whichever character you would like. As are you Laement, preferably with Sun Tsu - the guy is awesome. Tempest, you too are accepted, but of course, War is now taken. Kronos, that's fine with me, and you're accepted. Black-Pentagram, you're also accepted, but War isn't available, as I mentioned.

So far, we have Death (taken by me, using Dr. Shipman), Pestilence (taken by Skallagrim, using one of his choices), and War (taken by Laement, using Sun Tsu [hopefully]), all being played by someone. The only Horseman left now is Famine. Either Tempest or Black-Pentagram can take that. It'll be on a first come, first served basis. But, if when I check this thread and both of you have posted, I will look for what is the best reasoning for your character.

Don't be put off from joining, though, if you don't get a Horseman... Ancillary characters are just as important to the story. So make up an ancillary character, which can be anyone you want, even a created character.

Hrm... do the Four Horsemen have minions?
Or does the Prince of the Morning have some?
I'd like to have one, if the aforementioned five do.

Well, unfortunately, you don't make the grade for this RP.

And now the roleplay is officially up and running. So all of you who have been accepted can get to posting. Don't expect immensely fast posts from me, and a couple of other people - Skall has already mentioned he'll only be posting once every few days - but that's okay. Quality over quantity, after all.

I'll be joining in as Sir Terry Wogan, the respected and well loved Irish broadcaster and commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest, among other things.

Woo. I actually doubted in my ability to get accepted. Silly me and my modesty.

Well, anyway, for the Horseman of Famine I am going to choose Vladimir Lenin. He created the Soviet Union and is therefore, more or less, the father of communism, giving him a sinister aspect and reasoning for his place in Hell. He caused the Russian famine of 1921 (Wikipedia Article) because, supposedly, Lenin ordered the seizure of the food peasants had grown for their own subsistence and their seed grain in retaliation for this "sabotage", leading to widespread peasant revolts. In 1920, Lenin had ordered increased emphasis on the food requisitioning from the peasantry. This is written in the Black Book of Communism.

I can offer a more detailed explanation, if you'd like. I'm sort of rushing to make sure I post this before Tempest. :P
