The sound of heavy boot-thuds accompanied Calvin Strandt's arrival on scene. The timing was absolutely terrible, and he knew it, but he would have to make do. He sprinted through the parking area and headed for where his intuition told him Allen would be. It didn't take a dedicated observer to notice he was holding his big revolver, either.
The ex-cop looked at the Sherriff and scowled. "Scanner frequencies are going wild; what the hell's happening?!" The ex-cop grunted, looking at Allen, then at the stage, then back to Allen.
