This is the OOC thread for The Code

Storyline is as follows:

In the year 2012, the world is ruled under one world government, the Unified Earth, one of their decrees was a law passed that all citizens be chipped, these chips revealed all data, blood type, sex, age, nationality, everything.

The plan was a success for many years until 2015 when people who were chipped started to discover strange things happening, some could interface with machinery, others could project their mind into cyber space and others could manipulate technology with their mind remotely, they became known as Jackers, outlaws to the government, they were sought out and arrested on sight, many remained in hiding and used their abilities to uncover whatever the government was plotting, searching for that one secret, the Code, the secret of the chips.

Skills: By simply coming in contact with any type of technology she can alter, erase, and transfer data. Visual results could range from altering the functions of an iPod to receive satellite radio stations and getting every channel possible on a simple television, to programming cars to run specific routes and cracking into bank accounts via ATM.

Appearance: Veronica's caramel toned body is adorned with scars on both her legs and arms. Though healed, they create a series of entwining veins on her arms and legs. Visually skin-crawling, yet smooth to the touch. Caught staring and you would fall victim to azure blue eyes peering from under a shoulder length curtain of ebony hair. Intimidation wouldn't be an initial emotion, due to her lithe form that was toned like that of a track runner. Her legs and arms were rather long, but properly proportioned to her height of 5'10. Her oddly tall stature and toned body were both offset by a very light face. Her smile was almost childlike in comparison, but her eyes were deep and alluring.

Personality: Highly cautious and skeptic of any and every thing that surrounds her. Prior government affiliation as a police officer has assimilated a very "enforcing" attitude in her demeanor. Asserting things to get her point across and lashing out on those who disagree with a lesser idea. Aside from the arrogance and feral attitude, Veronica tends to have a calm nature under certain circumstances. Be it eating, fighting, or jacking.


I added personality, was going to add bio but got a little lazy. If the personality is unnecessary then I'll remove it, if the bio is wanted then I'll edit it in. Also, wasn't sure on how long the ID number was supposed to be so I just strung some digits together.

That's ok, I leave it up to others to decide ID number length and anything else they wanna add but it sounds good so far.

Name: Zane Moore

Age: 30

Faction: Jackers (I can change it later if there are too many Jackers later.)

Skills: Zane is a Technopath. That is, he can physically manipulate most technologies to do what he wants them to. He is limited to fairly small types at the moment, such as vehicles, computers, etc.

Appearance: 6'4" and 180 lbs. Most people wouldn't expect Zane to be a Jacker, due to his apparently calming nature and lack of nervousness when dealing with UE officers. His shoulder length Auburn hair compliments his blazing green eyes and sits on a muscular frame covered in tattoos. People sometimes think Zane is older than he is because of his laugh lines and crow's feet. Being on the run for seven years has caused him to take on an "Outlaw" sort of look. People sometimes stare at Zane, but he just stares back until they either talk to him or look away.

Personality: Zane is a laid-back man, almost never getting angry or obscene. He tries to help those less fortunate than him as much as possible, and that sometimes gets him into trouble when the UE cops come running. Zane doesn't mind Jacking, but hates to fight anyone because he believes that all life is precious. However, everyone has their breaking point, and when Zane gets pushed past his, he goes beserk, forgetting about anything else but the fight and not caring for his personal safety or the safety of anyone around him. When pushed to this point, Zeke is considered a force of nature. He doesn't last very long though, because of the enormous energy he puts out while Jacking and fighting the officers.

Ahead of time, I'd like to ask if I can make two characters. I assure that I'll be able to keep both of them up.

Go ahead Eternity and everyone else is ok, something to note, Jackers will mostly hang around slums and run down places to avoid UE, vehicles in these places are the same as ours, vehicles in more established places are more computer controlled and a Jackers dream.

Skills: She is a skilled observer, and always able to estimate the truth of a situation. She uses these skills to readily weed out liars and law-breakers.
Appearance:
-Stands a slightly olive toned height of 5'8, with a lean and feminine body, always carrying a smooth strut. Her hair is long and black, usually straight but easily fashioned into other styles and forms. Her lips are full, her upper lip more prominent in a sultry and rare way. Her eyes are a rich honey-amber haze, cased by long lashes. Usually Tess wears a bit of smooth make-up, and as well dresses quite nicely, in smooth dresses or nice dress-shirts and skirts/dress-pants.

Faction: Jackers
Skills: Identity Theft- he can see a person, and come in contact with that person- just a grazing touch- and copy that person's chip data to his own, making him appear- to government and satellites- as another person. This allows him easy access into difficult places.
Appearance: Jack is 6'2, smoothly tanned, and well-muscled. He is a handsome form of rugged, being with shaggy/messy dirty blond hair that falls along his neck, and a goatee and bit of a five-o-clock shadow coming onto his face in the form of short stubble. His eyes are vibrant and blue, placed like gems in a stone-cast expression of curious protection. He always looks suspicious of others, especially by the way his strong jaw and bow-shaped lips are tightly held. Jack is usually adorned by simple solid colored muscle-like shirts, and jeans/cargos/khakis.

can I be a Jacker that's on UE's side?

You can be but be warned, if you do so, you're technically everyone's enemy, UE don't trust Jackers and a rogue Jacker is feared

I was actually going to ask if over time and alongside development, could my UE character begin to support the Jacker's cause?

Skills: Shane can project his mind into the iternet, computers, and computer memory devices. once in a computer, he can take conrol of it's functions (ie. if he's in a security computer, he can contol the building's security systems)
Appearance: Tall, with short black hair, and scars from fights he has had with varius people.
Bio: Shane was born into an average family, until he discovered his jacker powers, and the UE, deciding it would be good to have one on their side to help fight the others, recruited him.

Yes, UE can defect but Jackers will never be in the UE's favour, just remember, UE ain't the good guys here

Faction: On a "special" contract with UE

Skills: Recognised around the worlds as a top operative and military leader, Paul Kinston has extensive military expertise including but not limited to: firearms and explosives, armed and unarmed combat, infiltration, military tactics and espionage.

Appearance: Wide framed and aging, Kingston can seem like a heavy past-prime guy, but one look at the gruff face can tell any experienced observer that the mind is hard at working behind the slow-moving exterior. The short hair that once was dark black is now fading to gray and the rigid facial features hide away emotions and intentions for many bluffs past and to come. Kingston wears a heavy (reinforced) leather trenchcoat at most times over comfortable jeans with t-shirts. When in uniform it becomes apparent that he is quite fit still, with only the current rank insignia for the misson at hand being worn without other decorations.

Personality and Bio:

With safety and comfort for all, the price of freedom has gone up volumes. To adapt to this new world, Paul decided since very young that he has to have the merchandise the "freedom-keepers" (as he calls them) always want. Thus, a mind the Global 3rd Education Segment Assesment Test qualified as being extremely adequate for advanced science, art or service-providing seemed to be going to waste as Paul enrolled into the military early on.
Mercenary work, grunt work, espionage and commanding have all come and gone. Kingston is awaiting a retirement that he knows will never come as he buys months of freedom for days of horror that he still has to spend coordinating and participating in black-ops missions for the UE. He considers it a good thing when it's only recruiting or training he has to do. None the less, challenges are always appreciated and the only thing that has kept Kingston from giving up on life probably is the challenge of the next mission, of outsmarting the other guy. Costantly refusing positions of authority, the thought that once he would be autonomously placed in such a position, he could do some good to the decadent world around him has always haunted him.
With the discipline and professionalism the years have trained into him, he can easily go into "Soldier and General" mode when the phone rings, but would wish for little more than for it to stop ringing.

Appearance: She is as tall as 5'6, has black hair that reached down to her chest, and when she has time she dies some of her bangs a certain color. She is fit, because during high school she was always involved in sports, and after high school she didn't let that go. Plus she does alot of running avoiding UE officials when she somehow gets spotted by one. Her skin is the same brown as light wood. Her eyes are hazel and a bit as wide as an average doll.
