The Collective

Name: Class-G Colossus Defense Matrix: The Collective
Dimensions: It circumvents a planet that is five times the size of Jupiter and forms a visible ring from space that is at least one thousand miles tall and deep.
Age: Indeterminate

History: Little is known about the Collective, however there are a few theories,

- The most widely popularized theory on the collective is that it was created by a civilization before the Val’Gara and humanity, far before humanity’s bitter strife with the val’gara. It is thought that the Collective was an ultimate superweapon made by it’s creators, and was used against the Val’Gara. Far outweighing the Val’gara’s standard herd in firepower, the collective succumbed to the incomprehensibly complex Vesuvian virus and with that it turned upon it’s own race, utterly decimating any military they could possibly scrounge up. Once the planet was harvested the collective returned with the herd that overcame it to colossus where it would circumvent the planet for millennia to come.

- A second less-popular theory on the Collective is that the Collective was actually a technology created by the val'gara’s own, using the mass of all the available leviathans, the leviathans banded together gathering unearthly material in a quest to create the perfect herald. Through this manner the collective was created, and it was given no intelligence but the intelligence of the Behemoth’s that control it. After all, what is an ultimate weapon that can think to betray its creator?

- A third theory that was created by religious factions of earth says that the Collective’s dimension symbolize the number of the beast, and that the Collective was created by demons that are not of this world. Using the satanic mana the collective was constructed of pure malice, and once given a corporeal form it gathered that of an efficient machine. Misery loves comfort, and so the Collective, on it’s own accord, sought out Colossus and willfully infected itself with the Vesuvian virus, where it may eternally be with the cardinal evil within physical existence and the most hated enemy of man kind; the Val’gara.

Appearance: If you were unlucky to get close enough to the Collective to distinguish what each of the pieces of this well-oiled machine were actually you could tell that each “piece” is in actuality a foreign looking “ship” unlike any ever seen, almost two miles in length and about 800 meters in height, these ships give a fearsome appearance up close and personal. However from afar the Collective is little more than an obsidian cloud in space, blotting out any radar screens or conventional tracking methods due to it’s unnatural wavelength. It works similar to how modern human stealth technology works, but the pieces of the Colossus magnify it’s signature, making it on a radar, basically one giant blot that takes up the entirety of the sensing range.

Weaponry: The Collective is armed with many weapons, but to name a few they are listed here.

Tachyon disrupter: Using theoretical tachyon particles the Collective is capable of firing bursts of these time-traveling particles.

Overburst Torpedo: A highly radioactive torpedo that utilizes a number of particles of anti-matter within it, the anti matter, itself, is capable of destroying flagships within one torpedo. The unique design of this torpedo allows it to break apart the tip into thousands of particles, or microscopic particles of anti-matter, or stay as one large torpedo.

Warp Ray: A beam of energy each ship is capable of firing. The beam of energy is constant in its fire and the longer it is focused on a single target the more powerful it becomes. It utilizes a reactor of bioforce that is divided off of the amount of bioforce that the collective splits from sal’chazzar, meaning that the energy source of the warp ray is basically endless, so long as it’s in val’gara space.

Phase Nukes: A highly radioactive nuclear torpedo that is capable of phasing through shields and entering the hull of a ship unobstructed, the radiation is the prime factor of damage with the phase nuke.

Thermal Ray: Using gathered thermal energy within their reserves, the Collective is capable of firing a thermal ray of a variety of temperatures, this thermal ray is capable of melting physical structures of even some of the hardest materials.

Abilities: The Collective is armed with weapons, but it also has a group of abilities at its disposal.

The Ships – Once and a while the ships themselves will be flung out at a target, and if connected, release a psionic wavelength capable of inhibiting sentient thought and inducing insanity. After the psionic wavelength is released there is a massive electromagnetic pulse that is released from the ship, frying any automated defense systems that the target may have to stop the ship’s harvesting process. Once the pulse is released, a toxin will be released from newly-formed vents on the side of the ship, the biotoxin degrades and decomposes flesh or organic material within seconds, thus killing any life within the vicinity of the monument after the diluted substance is gathered back up, the bioforce of the organic specimens is absorbed back through the hull of the ship. After the bioforce is absorbed, thermal energy and nuclear energy is drawn into the ship through its very own hull, via specialized mechadendrites that are capable of retracting from any part of the ship.

The ships of the Collective are capable of breaking the sequence above and using any of them in singular combat, it is not mandatory that the entire process be completed.

Space Manipulation: Within val’gara space, the Collective is capable of actually tossing anything undesirable outside of val’gara space through a forced sort of warp. In addition to this, within val’gara space, the collective is capable of altering anomalies such as stars, comets, blackholes, etc to its liking.

Proud Entity: The Collective is a massive sentient being, and it does have one mind, however through nearly every means that mind is exclusive, telepathic communication, or manipulation with The Collective will probably result in a psionic shockwave that is powerful enough to send even the most powerful of telepaths into a comatose state. This is a blessing, but it is also a curse, for this very reason the Collective cannot psi-link with any of the rest of the val'gara, and is simply controlled by the virus and the behemoths.

Immunity: Being an entity of inorganic substance, all virus or bio organic based attacks are ineffective, in addition to this, since the collective is a heavy catalyst of the Vesuvian virus, attempts to bring it down through technological means, such as hacking into it's AI result in infection of the vesuvian virus.
