The Color of Blood Money ( )

Postby Mobpeace on Mon Apr 27, 2009 4:08 pm

Daniel blinked a few times, rolling back the sleeve of his jacket; an anachronistic, loose-fitting leisure suit that looked as though it may well have been stolen from Elvis. His eyes flitted downwards to a tacky gold watch, which confirmed the time: 10:03 PM. Rolled his shoulders back and sat down onto one of the overstuffed armchairs in the hotel lobby. He closed his eyes and rubbed the sides of his head for a few seconds: seven minutes until he'd be meeting his new 'partner'.

At 19, Daniel was nothing short of a prodigy as far as killers went. He had a knack for taking care of things discreetly, and sneaking his way into tight situations. His youth was not usually a problem, as he looked a bit older than he actually was, though it did sometimes require some creative insight into various assassinations on his part. He was employed by the blandly-titled group; 'The Organization'. Admittedly, the group did little more than outsource contracts to their own personal hitmen; taking a substantial amount of any profits for themselves. Nonetheless, Daniel had amassed quite a bit of money throughout his teenage years working underneath them. He was almost 20, and, if he kept up the quality of work he had shown in the past, it looked as though he may well be retired by 25.

He finally opened his eyes to check his watch again. Two minutes until the stranger was supposed to arrive.

Leaving from a black car, a women dressed in professional looking clothing walked into the hotel. Stopping and scanning the area before her. She breathed in and glanced down quickly to the paper in her hand, before crumpled it up in her hands and slipped it down her blouse. With a swift flick of her hand, tossing her ebony hair, in gentle waves down to her shoulders as she now made her way to the meeting place.

Now a minuet to the designated time, she spotted the young man sitting ahead, as she made her way infront of him, her attire made mostly of black, tight skirt, waist hugging top that gentle went over her curvy hips, and tall heels, that clacked sharply on the marble tiles until a dead stop where she stood infront of him. Her eyes brows raised as she looked over him cold blue eyes contrasted oddly against her tan olive like colored skin and jet black hair.

She made a soft 'Hmph' sound before she parted her full lips, she looked quite high classed, her voice was exotic, a light accent slurring in her words including the 'ou' words and very lightly on other things. " ...I suggest we should get started on things right away... we apparently have much to do.." she said unamusedly.

Daniel glanced up at the woman, and rose an eyebrow. She was pretty attractive. He straightened out one of the sleeves of his jacket and nodded. "Yeah." he was quick to speak up. He stood suddenly, and slicked a hand through his short-cut brown hair. "I take it you've got something ready to get us away from here?" he cleared his throat. "I had to take a cab; so, I've got nothing for immediate transport." he made sure to make eye contact as he spoke.

He looked over the woman's shoulder, to the small crowd of drowsy-eyed and seemingly unenthusiastic people behind her. "Our friend is on the fifth floor. Everything seems to be working fine as is. I've been in the lobby for almost half-an-hour, and I haven't seen the guy." again, he moved a hand through his hair. Thought back for a few seconds, to the target: a low-ranking drugs peddler who was operated primarily out of New York City. He'd managed to obtain some blackmail on a corrupt official of some sort, and was trying to blackmail his way to further fame and fortune.

Daniel scratched the back of his neck a single time and looked towards the elevator, waiting for the woman's response.

Her expression never changed, no kind smile, no friendly interest, just a simple neutral expression over her futures, relaxed and calm. She looked at him attentively, her jaw shifting slightly as she looked over to the elevator. She responded to the information given to her with simple "Uhmms" and " Mms" growing into a silent thoughts before she breathed in to speak again, " How old is this man... what other things is he known for, is the information we have his only threat...?" she said as she ran the tip of her thumb over her nails while staring off into the distance; thinking of what other threat he was to who assigned her to put a stop to him.

She glanced over at him, usually not giving out her name for the time being unless she'd be working with a long term partner. She gestured to the elevator, before turning gracefully and making her way there, " I don't understand why they need both of us, I might as well just do it myself and take the entire share..." she hissed sourly.

She waited for him to come along, expecting him to be just as experienced as she was, and just as old aswell thinking of him to be at least 26... stronger and wiser perhaps. Hopefully he'd proove to her.

Daniel ran another hand through his hair and rolled his eyes. He always got stuck with these kinds of partners: acted like they were real badasses, twenty-four-seven. They never seemed to be able to put it through their skulls that they were dealing with other contract killers. Just because the tough-girl act worked to intimidate the everyday civilian, didn't mean it would do anything for Daniel. He exhaled loudly and glanced towards the entrance of the hotel.

"You shouldn't care about anything else." he pointed out. "We don't need to know why they sent two people to take care of an easy job. All that matters is they did. Which means they need it done, efficiently." he scoffed at her comment about how she should just kill the guy herself.

"Go ahead." he hinted. "You know they're splitting the profits between us either way. Don't act like this is some contest bullshit." he tapped his finger against the elevator's button, and it lit up. Straightened out the sleeves of his shirt, and stared straight ahead while he waited for the elevator to descend. Hell, while he waited for this whole job to be over with.

A small smirk managed to tug at the courner of her lips, she clearly had already set things up inside her head, she took nothing of what he said to interest and merely looked straight ahead of her instead of him, slidng her hands to her sides, just as the ring of the elevator rang, sliding the doors open silently and smoothly, letting a couple of people out. " Thats no way to talk to a women..." she alerted him, before making her way into the elevator.

Fingers gliding toward the 5th floor, she looked at him in a slight glare, her cold eyes were probably no threat to him, but she would make this easy job harder for him, if he didn't plan on listening or agreeing with her at some point. She was stubborn and prefured things going her way, and if that wasn't the case, they'd have to think along the same lines or she wouldn't take it as well.

Meeting Daniel's gaze for a second," So what do you have planned...? Please enlighten me on whats going to happen tonight" already not impressed.

"Yeah?" Daniel asked rhetorically, as he stepped into the elevator, immediately pivoting to look towards the doors before they slid shut. "Well, you're not exactly acting like one, so I figure we're about even." he commented to her 'woman' statement. Slicked a hand through his hair again and looked into the reflective surface of the elevator walls for a few seconds longer.

He folded his arms across his chest, and leaned backwards. She was staring at him, but he played it off: she ought to know better than anyone else that you had to get used to people trying to stare you down all the time in this business. A would-be, mild exhale, and he looked away; disinterested.

Looked over at her. "Oh, really? You don't even have anything planned yourself?" he rolled his eyes. "I woulda' liked to see you run in and there and try to handle this guy on your own, unprepared." shook his head a few times. "It's an easy job, anyways. He's waiting for some clients. They aren't going to show. We pop in instead, say we're there to buy. Wing it from there." he shot a hateful glance in her direction. "If you can handle that."

She opened her mouth to reply to that, she instead breathed out heavily and looked away, annoyed. Repeating her snarky little statements to herself, as he rambled on, flipping her hair over to one side, she snapped back at him, " Oh shut up already will you? You know nothing of me to make such childish judgements..." her accent rang over the tip of her tougue, before she sucked her teeth disgust looking straight at the doors as they elevated to their floor, opening up to the short red carpets that led to the room doors.

" Such a child.." she muttered, she could care less if he heard her or not before she stepped out onto the floor, arms folded infront of her chest snugly, as she waited for him to follow, " Room 512, correct?" Her voice lost the tension that had built up in the elevator and back to the smooth more concentrated at-what-they-were-here-for tone.

Eyes darting toward the door signs, looking along the many handles that were signed with 'Do not disturb' signs on them she followed the numbers to the door at the end of the hall.

Daniel chuckled to himself, off to the side. Rolled his shoulders back and leaned away from the elevator, to stare at the floor they opened up onto. He had been wondering if there was something a bit off about this job: why else would they send two apparently well-trained operatives after one drug dealer. He ignored her second comment. Just waited to finish this guy off and never have to look at the girl again.

He cracked his neck a single time as they moved out into the hallway. Smirked to himself when she asked if it was the right room, and her voice seemed to have returned to its normal. "Yes. It's 512." he answered.

He followed her eyesight to all of the various doorknobs, and led the way towards the right room. He rapped his knuckles against it twice - and it was soon answered, by a heavyset, tan man with a shaved head and a few tribal tattoos running down his arms. He snorted a single time and spoke up. "You two the guys?" his eyes darted around in a paranoid manner.

The woman waited for the door open, arms still crossed until the man opened the door, her expression was the same. They needed the both of them for this? She was fairly strong and could surely take him herself, and by looking at her current partner so could he. She cleared her throat and smiled warmly, "That'd be us..." never glancing at Daniel.

Moving her black hair to one shoulder she quickly looked over the man, with a quick barely noticeable glance, folding her hands together infront of her paitently waiting, tempted to get things over with already, and leave.

Flexing her fingers a bit, she breathed in calmly, her chest raising in with the innocent sigh, as she added, " We're not late are we...?" not so fond about using the 'we' part yet, her voice quite feminine, how harmless she sounded. Taking a step to the side waiting for Daniel.

The drug dealer slid the door open the rest of the way when the woman reassured him in that they were his buyers. Daniel began to think - maybe the guy was expecting two buyers. That's why they'd sent two people. He certainly hoped so: the organization didn't really think that he needed this woman's help to accomplish anything, did they? He rolled his eyes and took a cautious step closer to the door.

"Of course you're late." the man grumbled in the cookie-cutter; 'I think I'm really tough' voice. Daniel shrugged it off as always, as the man opened the door the rest of the way. The woman seemed to step out of the way, so Daniel walked in. The room was utterly trashed. Especially given the fact that the dealer had only been there for a few days.

Clothes and bedsheets were sprawled all about. Opened and closed suitcases adorned the floor. Maybe this guy was shifting a lot of drugs in this one hectic weekend. Daniel slicked a hand through his hair - seeming to be a tic of his - and let his eyes dart about the room. There was an Uzi on a bedside table; laid-out clear for anyone to see. This guy must have been pretty assured in his judgment of who was or wasn't a cop. Daniel flicked his wrist behind his back subtly, to point the weapon out to his female companion, and followed the drug dealer inside.

Alana kept her calm smile on, as she glanced over the man's shoulders, curling her finger around her long wavy hair just as he complained on their state of time. He'd be gone soon, his poor attitude wouldn't effect her as soon as Daniel walked in they'd finish him off.

Following him casually and nudging the door shut with the heel of her foot, proceeding to lock the door silently and as well unnoticed Alana looked around the hotel apartment and wrinkled her nose in slight disgust, kicking a couple tattered pieces of clothing from her path.

She tilted her head to watch Daniel's hands and gave a slight nod, reaching her hands to her neck and shoulders, firmly patting above her chest where in her breast pocket inside her blouse lay her beloved weapon, " Might as well get started, shall we?" she glanced around once more nudging at the suitcases and clothes, making her way to the end of the room, practically on the other side of the man, eyeing Daniel sharply with stern eyes when the sad excuse for a dealer turned his back towards her, slowly reaching in her shirt and keeping her hand there.

Daniel watched Alana every now and then; though his eyes primarily busied himself with the drug dealer. Another hand waved its way through his hair as the drug dealer turned his attention away; towards Daniel. Alana kicked something on the floor; or something. The place was pretty disgusting, though, Daniel wasn't focusing on it.

"So." Daniel spoke up; knowing full well that he'd need to lull the dealer into a false-sense of security; that they actually were buyers, for a few seconds at the very least. The dealer rose an eyebrow but said nothing. "My... friends spoke to you on the phone. You have everything here, right? I'm not moving around to shift any of this." there was an awkward, tense pause.

"It's all here." grunted the dealer. Daniel's eyes flickered to Alana for a split second - she was putting her hand into a pocket. Probably for a weapon. At least he still had the dealer's attention. "And... you have all the money here. You should. Where is it?" the dealer looked at Daniel: no suitcase, or anything to carry a large sum of cash. "Where is the money?" the dealer scratched the back of his head, and began to turn towards Alana to see if she had the cash. Daniel, worried that he might realize what Alana was doing, took the few seconds' worth of time to unholster a silenced pistol from the back of his jeans. He rammed it to the side of the dealer's head, and, though the man stumbled drunkenly to the wall, he did not stop. Instead, he began to reach for a gun of his own - as Daniel took a step to the side and lifted his own gun-wielding arm.

Pleased when Daniel began to speak, she moved her fingers to set up her black colt air model pistol ready. She blinked as they conversed about the money, finding a firm grip on her pistol well enough, as he turned to look at her, her eyes never leaving the dealer. She never replied to his question, seeing Daniel behind him, getting hit in the head with his own pistol knocking the man towards the wall.

Alana moved quickly, slipping out her weapon already armed and ready, she pursed her lips and squinted her eyes angling her arm to aim just about his chest area. Fingers quickly on the trigger, before the man could make any sudden movement she kept her arm locked and pulled the trigger three times, catching the man in the shoulder, side of his chest, and arm.

Still frozen in place, Alana waited for her victim to fall, not moving her aim yet. She watched quietly, a stern look on her face, of disgust and hatred to this man, tempted to spit on him already, as she relaxed her shoulders slowly putting her gun down.

Daniel merely moved out of the way as he watched the gun being drawn. Let the dealer take more than a few hits, and rubbed his forehead with the hand that wasn't tightly wrapped around a silenced pistol. "Well, that's not going to attract attention or anything." he mumbled, staring down and nudging the man with his foot.

Definitely dead. "I'm getting out of here before someone else shows. You might want to do the same," he admitted - knowing that she had the car, and he didn't. Slicked the free hand through his hair and tucked the gun away, smoothing out the edges of his jacket to conceal it. "Might want to pick up any shells or anything." he hinted.

"... You know. Just in case you wanna stay out of jail, or something like that." he offered up an aloof shrug and headed for the door.

She blinked her bright blue eyes, and lowered her weapon as soon as Daniel went over to nudge the dead body. She sighed, and rolled her shoulders back as she tucked her pistol back into her blouse, chuckling at his sarcastic joke as she kicked his dirty garbage around to once again clear her path.

Alana rolled her eyes when he spoke, she felt slightly smug at the moment. Looking over the ground, they had been in here for less then five minuets, they shouldn't have left anything behind. As soon as she stepped out the door she grinned and called after him, she always had the adrenaline to excite her good mood after she finished her hit.

" Need a ride, mystery boy?" her voice tossing in a light tease, " It'd get us away from here faster, and 'sides... I have a great ride.." she added, walking towards the elevator looking over her shoulder, unless he had some way to refuse, she'd keep up her offer.

Daniel watched her every move from his spot against the doorframe. She didn't pick up the shells: maybe she hadn't got any prints on them. He'd always considered picking up even printless shells would be more professional, but, hey - whatever worked; worked. He wasn't going to judge another assassin anytime soon. Too many hothead with too many guns could only lead to bad things.

He forced the door open and stepped outside. She followed a few minutes later; to catch him waiting by the elevator. He looked back towards her, smirking a bit when she spoke.

"A great ride, huh?" he asked. "I'm sure I've seen greater." this time, through his smile and light raise in voice; it was obvious he was teasing, not just being sarcastic and spiteful. "... but, yeah," he admitted. "I really could use a ride." he glanced over at her, then back to the elevator as it slid open. He waited for her before stepping in.

Alana was usually over confident that they'd never find her if she /was/ ever suspected. She smiled a bit and walked into the elevator smoothening her top and flipping her hair with a swift flick of her wrist, fingers flowing through easier she " 'Cha-- right... my ride ain't cheap as walking, now is it?" she scoffed.

While they headed down, she looked over him, " You could at least thank me, for doing the job for you..." she sneered, standing upright as the doors opened, walking out, heels clicking on the tile again. She spun around, " Where you headed, stranger..?" not quite as friendly anymore, just into a more formal tone.

Just outside the main doors, she had a man holding her keys, waiting patiently with her silver Porsche Carrera GT, with a simple glance she beamed on, " Theres my baby now.." she cooed, eye light and excited by it already.

Daniel rolled his eyes to the comment about walking and waited for the elevator to descend. He leaned back against the railing, and could see that she glanced over at him - though didn't return the look. Instead, he fascinated himself with the object above the door that told which floor they were on, and which they were approaching.

"Yeah, right," he rolled his eyes. "You couldn't have done that without me." he rolled his shoulders back a single time. "Where am I headed?" he repeated; quickly scanning through his memory, and coming up with the standard after each of his jobs: "to the airport." as always, he would be heading straight out for more work after an overnight flight. His life was all 'work'.

He looked at her Porsche through arched eyebrows, though, since the woman had succumbed back to her; 'I'm-better-than-the-world' tone (at least as it sounded to Daniel), he just shrugged and didn't say anything about the vehicle. Merely walked up to the passenger's side.

Alana gave a pretty grin, flashing her white teeth as she watched his live reactions to her comments. She shook her head, and took the keys before she walked around to the drivers seat, opening her car doors and sitting down.

Her car doors barely made a sound when they shut closed, she pushed they keys into the ignition and turned slightly grinning proudly as the engine roared to life-- she clearly loved the attention as peoples heads turned to hear the car come to life, but after then that it gave no more then a low purr as she stepped on the gas and headed toward the main streets.

She glanced in her rear view and blinked when he responded, she paused a bit and cleared her throat, " Hm.. you too huh?" she muttered under her breath, slowly turning and heading down to the free way towards the airports.
