It was called the Day of Light. In the middle of the day, the sky suddenly became darker than a late, cloudy night, as if the entire planet was being covered in a massive blanket. Moments later, it lit up with brilliant flashes of light of all colors. As this happened, beams of multicolored light could be seen striking the surface, directly on random individuals. These individuals fell unconscious for a few minutes, and awoke to find that they were gifted with powers and a desire to complete a specific purpose.

The beams of light were in three different colors: red, blue, and green. Each color had a different effect on its target.

Those struck with a blue light awoke to find an orb in their hand that appeared to made of dark glass, and along with it a powerful urge to keep it safe. They received powers to aid them in this purpose, often in the form of abilities for escape and defense.

Those struck with a green light awoke with the purpose of finding and gathering the orbs. They also received powers to aid them in their task, which are extremely varied. More often than not, the power they receive is greater than that of those of blue light.

Those struck with red light awoke with the instinct to destroy the orbs. The powers they receive are typically more powerful than all others and offensive in nature.


Additional information

- This is set in a generic modern city we'll call Brightvale.
- Ordinary people know about the day of light and that people struck by light have powers, but they know nothing of the orbs.
- We will start on the Day of Light. Removed, starting several weeks after the Day of Light.

Powers: Elemental- Can control earth water fire and air, although she can use them she may be able to use them they run her energy down fast and she can only use them for about an hour.

Bio:Haru was born in Japan. She grew up with both her mother and father, although because she had alot of brothers she became a little tougher then other girls and is a little outspoken and sarcastic. Haru was sitting with her family cause it was her mothers birthday. She had went outside to go to a friends house when the sky got suddenly dark. She was hit with the green light shortly after. She woke up in the hospital a few days later. She didn't know what had happened until she was about to get ready to leave the hospital when she got this weird felling came over her. Ever since she's been experimenting with her powers and still trying to understand these urges she gets

Powers: Total control over electricity. By extension, he has the ability to affect magnetism, certain chemical bonds and reform light metals. At first, his powers are weaker than most and he can't do much, but as he uses them, he gains the ability to store more electricity in his body and use it to a greater extent. Most of his final abilities can be found here: http://infamous.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Powers. He starts off with lightning bolt, shock grenade, and the static thrusters.
Over use of his powers results in, in order: dizziness, unconsciousness, coma, and eventual death if used too extensively.

Bio: Jack grew up an average kid in Brightvale and his parents were intense Christians. Not "beat your devil child" intense, but "teach your child to memorize the whole Bible so he won't go to hell" intense. He despised the Bible lessons, but knew they would make him a good person, so he didn't complain. After he turned 18, he went to college to become a police officer. One week before the Day of Light, he got laid off because of his temper, even though it was his imbecilic partner's fault. He likes to do good with his life, and the powers are just a way for him to do that. Until he gets the urges, about twenty seconds later.

Powers Bad Luck Bolts: Jeff can create focused areas of "bad luck" using greenish bolts that come out of his hands. These bolts can spontaneously create "bad luck" in whatever objects the bolts hit by exploiting weaknesses in a certain object's design. For example, if the green bolts hit a focused point of stress on a dam, they can cause the dam to fail because the stress point bursts just at the right moment; whereas if he hadn't hit that point of stress in the dam, the dam might have lasted for a couple of days without bursting. The amount of bad luck that the bolts create is proportionate to the size of the weakness in the object. For example hitting a normal brick with the green bolts will make the brick weak and easily breakable. But hit that same weakened brick again and the brick will crumble to dust. Also depending on the size of the object, it may take a little while for the bad luck to spread through it which gives an opponent time to react.The bolts also can't affect living organisms. Some more examples would be making a parking brake fail as well as getting two guns to shoot at each other so the bullets block their respective gun barrels.

Bio: Jeff grew up in the United States with her mother and father as an only child before moving to Brightvale at the age of 14. Because he was an only child, he is rather happy, brave and independent because he dosn't have someone at home to back him up so he has to survive at school and home without anyone's help. On the Day of Light he was outside reading a book, when the sky suddenly got really dark and he was engulfed in a blinding green light. He awoke in a hospital bed an hour or two later and suddenly felt these strange urges. He checked himself out of the hospital and went to meet a friend at a lookout point in the wilderness. As he was talking to his friend he gestured his hand in a big circle and a strange green bolt zipped out towards the trees down below. As soon as the bolts hit the trees, about 75% of them fell over. He tested this again by gesturing to a tire on his friend's car and it suddenly became flat. After that incident he's been testing out his power to see what it can do while experiencing these urges to collect something that he knows nothing about.

Powers: Alezia's main power enables her walk through inanimate objects (walls, cars, street lamps, trashcans, etc, etc, etc) allowing her to escape danger more easily than others. Also, her sense of hearing has been heightened which helps her become aware of coming danger faster than others. Other minor powers may reveal themselves through the roleplay.

Bio: Alezia moved to Brightvale when she was very young, but has always considered herself a local. Throughout school she made good grades, excelling in the language and liberal arts. She went to decent college on a full scholarship, majoring in English. She managed to steer clear of too much trouble there and made very few close friends. Alezia took trust very seriosuly and she didn't give it was easily. She'd had boyfriends here and there, but nothing too serious. At twenty-four, she'd been out of college and in the 'real' world for a year. Alezia was working for a publishing company as a personal assistant to the editor in chief. She really enjoined her job and it seemed to be opening many doors for her. On the Day of Light, Alezia was out getting coffee for her boss (and self). She noticed how dark it was becoming, darker than most nights. Suddenly flashes of bright, colored lights were flying everwhere. The last thing she remembers before passing out was bright blue. Looks like everyone is planning out their bios for some time after the Day of Light, so we'll just forget about starting on the Day itself.

Now for my character.

Name: Neal Morgan
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Color: Blue

Powers Neal has two related powers, possession and animation.

The first, possession, allows him to transfer his consciousness to a sentient target. This is limited by the mental capacity of his target. For example, a human would be impossibly difficult to possess, but an insect would be no problem at all. Sources of stress on the target put strain on his mind, and he can only possess one at a time. Possession leaves his body immobile, and he cannot possess the dead.

His second ability, animation, allows him to anime the dead and inanimate objects. Larger targets require greater concentration, as does a greater number targets. Like with possession, stress to the target puts mental strain on Neal. This effect occurs for all animated targets at once. While a target is animated, Neal experiences what it does through his normal senses, so for example he sees what it sees on top of his normal vision.

Bio: Neal was a quiet child growing up, and still is. He never had many friends, but he had enough. His grades in school were decent, so no one ever complained about his lax and carefree attitude. He moved to Brightvale when he was 9, and is not too fond of it. On the Day of Light, he was out killing time on his porch, staring at the sky. When he came to, he found his orb in his hand. Like most, he has experimented with his power since he discovered it. He has made a hobby of building small puppets to animate. He figures they may com in handy some day. In general, he views the deal with the orbs as an exiting break from the boring reality, and welcomes any chance to get involved, even charging headlong into battle on occasion.

Name: Natasha Lovelace
Age: 17
Gender: female
Color: Blue

Powers: Natasha can evaporate, taking any objects in contact with her skin with her in the process, unless they are too large or heavy for her to carry. (If she's leaning up against a wall wearing a backless dress and evaporates, the dress will come with her, the wall won't.) In vapor form, she can move at great speeds, up to forty miles per hour.

Bio: Born and raised in Brightvale with her older brothers and twin sisters (well, triplet sisters anyway). Natasha was always knows as the pretty one; she was always more popular than either of her sisters. She and her brother Mike were at a football game when the light started falling, and she was struck by the blue light. She has kept her orb on her person since it's appearance, and kept it secret from her sisters.

Appearance: Thin, with black hair in a bob cut. Thin, wire-rimmed glasses surrounding thin, dark brown eyes. Paleish skin, but more of a tan than either of her sisters.


Name: Kathryn Lovelace
Age: 17
Gender: female
Color: Green

Powers: Think Ditto. She can, with concentration and effort, transform herself into any other animal, provided she knows the anatomy of that animal. For instance, if she wanted to transform into a cat, she would have to know exactly how long to make the bones in her legs, how and where exactly to move her ears, and everything else. She doesn't have to move individual cells, but she has to have a general idea of what she is doing.
However, if she transforms into a human who has been hit with the weird light, she gains the ability to use their powers as well as her own, but if she transforms out of their shape she loses them. She usually needs very little time to learn to use swiped powers effectively, but not with the skill of the original user. She needs to be looking at someone to assume their shape, which is not a limitation of her power, but a limitation of her ability to use it.

Bio: Kathryn has always been her brother Alex's favorite sister. They are the artists in the family, and they like everyone to know it. (Kathryn goes by many aliases, including "Mini-Alex.") She has a wild imagination, and an amiable nature. She enjoys finding good in people, and always assumes that people are worthy of respect, unless they prove themselves otherwise.

Appearance: Long hair dyed bright red, a pale complexion, and purple rimless glasses. Usually wearing weird clothing.


Name: Imogen Lovelace
Age: 17
Gender: female
Color: Red

Powers: She can imbue inanimate objects with perpetual fire, that does not melt, burn, or effect the object in any way. It is possible to put out this fire, but only while Imogen is not concentrating on keeping it going. For instance, she could set a pencil on fire, then a pen, and if she's concentrating on the pen and someone dunks the pencil in water, it will go out, but if someone dunks the pen in water it won't. It will continue to burn and probably boil the water. More massive objects require more effort to ignite, as to less flammable objects. (I.e., a giant bag of feathers would be easier to ignite than a lead pipe.) Very little effort is required to maintain an inflamed state on an object---it will, in fact, continue to burn unless it is put out, either through being dunked in water and the like, or through Imogen putting it out mentally. Putting things out is effortless. Imogen cannot control the fire once she makes it, but it tends to be harder for people with fire-controlling powers to control, since it is not normal fire.

Bio: Imogen was known in her family as the smart one. She took math courses two years ahead of her older brothers, and has been programming in Java since she was a fetus (well, nearly). She doesn't talk much. Her friends tend to be mostly boys, because they are more often the ones she ends up hanging out with. She has a rather cynical outlook on life, and has a tendency to think everyone has an ulterior motive. She was at her computer playing an online game when a thing of red light smashed through her window (or passed through, if it has no mass) and hit her.

Appearance: Wears nothing but black, including her plastic-framed glasses. She wears her straight black hair in a ponytail that reaches her butt. Her skin is very pale because she rarely goes out in sunlight.

All three accepted, and I applaud you for making three characters. A lot of characters will be good for this RP. Anyone else want to make more characters? I probably will, now that I think about it.

Powers: Cameron is an Elemental Shapeshifter which has many possible explanations and meanings. In her case she can control the power of air, wind, and sky, manipulating her own body with the elements she can create a new form using her own original persona. The issue with her powers is she cannot shift into people, only beasts. It would seem easier to have a human shift to a human but her genes and cells work differently, causing a diversity of results upon first use.
When shifting into an animal she looks exactly like how the creature should be but a bit bigger and is usually identified by the small, roman cross tattooed upon the breast or shoulder.

Name:Jestas Madoe
Age:18
Gender:Male
Color:Red

PowersJestas' first ability is to freeze objects. To use this ability however, he must have no obstructions in between him and the target, and he must trace (with his finger) the outline of the target. The size of the object doesn't particularly matter, however, when something is really large, it's very rare for it to have absolutely no obstructions. Jestas' hand eye co-ordination also increased after being in the light, so tracing is usually without much problem. Despite how hard it is to actually complete it, the freezing has a 93% chance to succeed. A frozen object can not be harmed, as in you can't shatter the glass and expect the body to come apart in pieces. A frozen object will stay frozen for 15 seconds and then promptly unfreeze, unless Jestas puts both hands on the frozen object
(Maximum even with Jastes' hands on the target is 30min).

Jastas also has the ability to scorch everything in his sight. He needs to form a circle with both his hands, and sort of like a magnifying glass burning ants, it scorches anything in the middle of the circle. Though this has next to no effect on non-living objects (except flammable objects like gasoline and small wood), it causes physical pain if it is used on something living. The pain is equivalent to putting your hand on a hot stove, except your hand stays there.

Example of the obstruction rule (for explosions): Jestas wants to make his brother's computer explode. However, while he was tracing, his brother noticed that Jestas was going to kill his computer. Jestas' brother reaches out his hand in between Jestas and the computer. Jestas can no longer explode the object because he can't see all of the outline (due to the hand covering some of it)


Bio:Jestas is a very paranoid but senile teenager. At about nine years old, he was just the average stereo typical child. However, one night when he was sleeping, his father woke him up and asked him if he had heard any sounds. Jestas was confused, and told him that he didn't hear a thing, and asked what was wrong. His father tod him that he thought he heard a sound coming from the room, and that.. In mid-speech, Jestas' father was shot from outside through the window.

Jestas was so shocked and scared, the experience had changed him forever. It had turned out that Jestas' father was shot because he was a police man. He caught a murderer, who was later sentenced to jail for life, so his friends had come for revenge. When Jestas grew up, he moved to an apartment, and he made sure he bought one without windows.

One day he was out buying groceries, as usual frequently checking his back. He entered the nearest local grocery store, and bought food and water and left with such haste, people thought he was late for a job interview. Jestas hated the outside, so.. vulnerable, so many people that could come up from behind.. It was while he was leaving the grocery store when he noticed a red light around him. He fell unconcious and when he woke back up, he knew there was something different. Jestas smiled for the first time in a long while, he knew somewhere deep inside his head, that he wasn't so vulnerable anymore.

Powers: Asara's powers are very straight forward. She is brutally, unquestionally, unequivocally strong. This strength translates not only into the power of her blows, but into the ver way she moves. She's unbelievably quick and nimble because her muscles are able to propel her in such a way.

Bio: Asara's life had no meaning until the Day of Light. She was already a college graduate, having graduated high school at only sixteen. Her father had pushed her into going to a school she did not like with a major she hated. As a naturally passionate person, being forced into such a boring profession like Business Administration was almost pure torture. As strong as she had been before her transformation, her father was stronger and he did not tolerate disobedience. She did not go against him mostly out of fear. It was not a loving family. The Day of Light, however, changed it all. The crimson radience that covered her, found her through a classroom window in the middle of a lecture hall, sent her to her knees with its power and almost seemed to cleanse her of every memory she hated, every day of detestable monotony.

When she awoke in the hospital forty-eight hours later, her previous life was almost a dream. She understood why there had never felt like there was any purpose to her life before that day. It was because this was her purpose. She was to seek and destroy something she had never seen before, hardly even was sure existed. But it was the purpose of her new life. She had always been afluent on computers and her father was rich beyond words. She ran away from home and tweaked her and her father's bank accounts so that millions were siphoned off of his into hers. Now she stalks her pray with single-minded determination and she doesn't particularly care about the fool who gets in her way.

Bio: Eve's parents were the type of parents that wanted their child to be the smartest in her class. All they ever cared about was how smart she was and what her grades were. They were those type of parents that didn't usually tell her that they loved her. Her parents always wanted her to be with them studying and reading and resaerching. She is pretty but was never told that. She was walking back to her dorm room from the libary when she was struck by the light.

Powers He was gifted with the ability to make barriers with his mind, he normally either uses them as a sheild or to use as extendable 'arms'. The barriers give of a light green aura when they are activated. He enjoys using his powers in his combat as an extension of himself, rather than a weapon (as in he uses them sort of like arms). He usually forms fake arms with the barriers, as he wears a long sleeve shirt that could easily conceal someones real arms

Bio: When he was twelve his parents died in a car accident, their death caused him much grief and he was put into a state of depression for about a year. Almost as soon as he began to recover from his grief both of his arms were cut off when he was pushed into a construction zone, pulling him back into the depths of his angst. He spent all of his time studying with his only family member - Zoe, his sister and best friend. Nearly four years later, on the day of light, he was hit by a aura of green and fell unconcious during his studies while his sister was out shopping. When he awoke he had the ablility to make malleable 'barriers' with his mind. He decided that he would use the powers to help as many people as he could, but in the back of his mind he could feel a tugging to go and collect something... What it was he didn't know yet, but it was almost a burning feeling. It was then that he decided to leave his home and set out and find that something, and help others along the way if they needed. Later, within the week he found out about his powers, he left suddenly. Never telling his sister about his powers or his departure.

Appearance: He has short, orange hair with pale green eyes. He always wears a long sweat shirt with gloves attached to the sleeves. He is the only person who knows about his ability so far, and to better blend into society he uses the barriers to create fake arms.
