I'm thinking of starting a Dragon Riders RP. All RPers would collaborate on the plot, making it ours, not mine.

I'd like to join, but a little more information on the general theme going along with the dragon riders would be nice before I make a commitment to this kind of RP. ^_^
Do you have any ideas so far along the lines of location and such?

ok, I hope you are all dedicated RPrs. Just start posting ideas, like time periods (compared to earth), how you are picked to be a rider, what is the opposing force(s), things like that.

I don't REALLY like RPs that just have one idea made by ONE person, so just give in some ideas, here is a base line.

Time Period (compared to earth): 1000-1820 (no latter then 1820 era) ( or we could have it our earth, but dragons do exist)

Dragons: like Eragon, Dragon riders of Pern, ect.

Lands (islands or large bodies): a verity would be nice, different cultures would be better.

Conflicts: A evil king/ queen. Rouge Dragon or dragon riders, things like that.

Just pitch in ideas everybody. Collaborate

I'd like the idea of Dragon Rider on current date.

Time Period: I was thinking maybe about a century after the Magna Carta was signed

Dragons: I was thinking either European or Chinese dragons would be best for human riding.

Lands: not sure, really bad at creating a new world. Hope someone else has a good idea. =P

Conflicts: A tyrannical king who refuses to abide by the Magna Carta hires mercenary dragon riders to eliminate the riders who oppose his rule, or show no standing (neutral riders) so that no one stands in his way.

i like multi's idea so far though i think dragons of all different cultures can be accepted in this to be honest from my prespective i was thinking more of towards the cost of any kind of dragon that we're paired with a dragon from birth kinda like their souls are joined and all it takes is to find that one Dragon and you know it's yours XD

lands hm....Let's call this new world Acereon X3 the kingdom of Acereon o.o i likes the sound of that XDDDD

Time period: I agree with multi_media_man, after the signing of the manga carta.

Dragons: I like the european dragons, they are bigger body and powerful,while the chinese dragons seem more mythical

Lands: Variety of environment. Deserts, forest, mountains,etc.

Conflicts: once again i like multi_media_man idea

Putting my two cents in with some inspiration from His Majesty's Dragon:

There are all sorts of dragon species, with some being more rare than the other and each with their own strength/weaknesses depending on what species they're from. Rareness generally depends on the geographical location you're in. For example, if you're in Europe, Chinese Dragons would be considered rare and vice versa.

Also, are Dragon Riders common in this world???

I like Soki's soul idea! =D How about having the bond being so strong that if a dragon dies, the rider usually dies too? And that it is possible to ride a dragon that you're not linked with, but such a pairing is most often problem-laden and rarely succeeds?

Time period: Anything's fine with me.

Conflict: Multi's one sounds good.

I also like Multi's ideas a lot.
And I like graverunner's ideas of having different types of dragons from different locations. It would make it a bit more interesting to have dragons of all shapes and sizes.
I also like the idea of a dragon and human's soul being connected, in a way.
Hmm. I'm trying to think of an idea to pitch out as well, but I'm coming up blank.

I think there should be a variety of landscapes, similar to Earth, but where should the starting location be? I was thinking a neighboring small town of the country's capital (and the king's home city) would do nicely, but that's just an idea.

And does the king desire world domination in the near future, or is he just too controlling of his own country that he defies the Magna Carta in an attempt to gain more power?

Also, I think it's be neat if the first posts could be of the day the riders found/obtained their dragon egg, and then the second post is where the RP really begins. Not that this contributes to the plot, I just think it'd be kind of neat. ^_^

ok, here is what we have so far

Time period: (suggested by Multi) 1300-ish ( I like 1600-ish)

Dragons: Is everybody ok with Eragon-like dragons? YOu have a strong bond, but you don't die if your dragon gets killed.

Lands_-people aren't very sure about that, how about one large land mass (with deserts, grasslands, tundra's, ect) And a few small islands? (one tropical and one snowey/foresty)
