When White awoke, he did the one thing that they always tell you not to do. He headed for the light at the end of the tunnel. His hands throbbing and his head pounding, he crawled on his hands and knees until he finally collapsed senseless in the warm, beckoning light. All around him the glow began to dim, leaving White to rest peacefully in the confines of his prison. As they say "There's no place like home".

Thought watched as three bars formed in the holes along the wall, one of each color. He'd hoped for a more interesting result than that, but he would just have to deal with it. Gently plucking the purple bar from the middle hole he examined it, noting that it had almost the same dimensions as the other bars had been, but it was twice as wide. He wondered why that hole(and consequently the bar) was different.
He quickly dismissed the thought for the moment as the lights suddenly went black and a platform covered the space where the water had been. With a sigh he snatched the red and blue bar from their niches and waited anxiously for the shocks to start again. But they didn't. He stared warily at the floor for a few seconds. Maybe they noticed that shocking him only made him more reluctant to leave? Interesting.. He silently made for the plaque room in the darkness with all three bars in hand.
Once inside, the wall closed him in to the room once again, leaving him in his miserable solitude. He laid the bars side by side next to the wall to the right of the plaqued wall. He wondered if he could find another use for them besides eating. Thought's stomach growled in response to the question, but he ignored it and continued to study the bars.
They kind of reminded him of chalk. An image of a sidewalk covered in childish drawings and a thick piece of chalk filled his mind for a moment, then left fleetingly. Thought shook his head, trying to get ahold of his mind. Why was he only remembering certain things?? He let out an irritated sigh. It was frustrating to say the least.
Picking up the blue bar he wiped its corner along the pure white wall, leaving a blue streak in its wake. He smiled and kept the bar going, adding curves and angles on instinct until it had finally looped back around to its starting point. Once finsidhe he stepped back and looked at his creation. It was a dragon. Not as good as the one marked on his arm, admittedly, but a dragon none the less. The drawing gave him a small bit of hope. Thought would get out of here.
"If there is a greater power, why is it He can't get you a new sweater?" "Because He's too busy looking for your brain"

Specimen 26, Young Lin

Licking the remnants of the red bar she so quickly devoured, she was about to leave the room with a slightly satisfied stomach and the still unscathed disk at hand when she heard a familiar thud against the wall but this time in a more spastic manner. Happy to find the wall or at least something responding to her actions, she slammed her disk hard and as frantically as the thumping, all to eager to find a playmate and a reason to cause hurt and extract revenge on her red disc. "Hahaha this is fun!", she exclaimed as she tried to match the beat and sometimes made small rhythmic beats from time to time. Amidst her games however the room turned dark all around her, stunning her for a while as the metallic beating sound filled room now turned silent if not for the soft thumping from the other side of the wall. Memories of being electrocuted fresh in her mind, she dashed over the now concealed pool and back to her room while slamming her disk to the side of the wall as she move. As if communicating to the wall to tell the floor not to electrocute her just yet. Tripping over her own foot and falling face first onto the floor, she slid back into her room as the wall behind her slam down shut. Rubbing her nose, "Ugh.. Safe..." she muttered as the lights above her dimmed down. But after the run and the knowledge that someone or something other than her was here, she couldn't sleep. With the disc in hand, she slammed the walls around her in hopes of finding the new 'friend' she made just moments ago.

Test #5 **[see below first]
When the light wakes you as before, and the wall opens into another room, you find that, rather than being made of the same pearlescent solid as the other rooms you have experienced, this one is lined with what seems to be some kind of soft foam, with no visible seems. The room is about eighteen feet long and there is something glittering in a line across its center. Upon close examination, you find that the chamber is divided by a strip of water that runs from wall to wall. It is about six feet from one “bank” to the other, but you can’t tell how deep it is because the bland overhead light doesn’t let you determine any bottom to the trench. About three inches above water-level, the edges of the trench, as well as the corners between the walls and floor, are rounded so that there is little chance of hurting yourself. Although the water itself is probably room temperature, it feels cold against your body heat.

Unless you fancy taking a swim, you must find a way to cross the trench, which seems available as a long board, for lack of a better word, lying against the wall. If you knew what such a thing was, it might remind you of a swimming-pool paddle-board, except that this particular one is rectangular (about 8” x 2”) and about eight feet long (i.e. longer than the trench is wide). Although the board is grey instead of white, it looks similar to the foam that the room is made of, though it is rather stiffer. If you were to stand on it, you would find that it can support your weight with very little bending.

You can see that, on the other side of the water, opposite where you entered this room, there are once again two buttons situated about halfway up the wall. One is red; one is blue. Below each button is a small rectangular hole, about nine inches long and three inches tall and deep. If you feel around inside a hole, you will find that there is nothing exceptional about it, other than being a niche in the smooth wall. In addition to the holes between the buttons, there is also a third one between them. It is about six inches deep, but otherwise identical to the other two.

**Error: all specimens have failed to participate in Test #5. Emergency medical diagnostic will commence immediately.

[flashing red lights accompanied by electronic beeping. Over the intercom, which the specimens cannot hear:]
"All available medical personnel please report to the Animal Behavior Laboratory. All medical personnel to Animal Behavior Lab, please.

When you wake, the first thing you notice is that the normally-white light above you has turned a subtle shade of red, which also reflects off the walls. Second, you notice that you feel rather groggy, as if you had been recently sedated. The sensation is not unlike the one you encountered when you first awoke in these white rooms, but minus the aching pain. As you sit up, the room seems to recognize that you have regained consciousness and the lights above fade back to white once more. Then, as expected, the wall opens into another room, containing whatever new test your captors have created for you.

[OOC: I don't understand how everyone didn't post at all in an entire week. :? Did I miss something? Did you all decide to get together and abandon me?
Treats will be offered to those who continue to participate!]

Thought awoke to the unfamiliar sight of red and feeling of grogginess. ..What happened..? He tried to think back to what had last occured. There was a room with a strip of water in the middle.. he drew something on his wall.. then... nothing. His mind was blank. With a disgruntled shake of his head he sat up and the red lights in the ceiling turned back to white.
Normally Thought would have let this go and moved on to the next test, but it truly bothered him that there was a gap between the last test and this one. Had he done something to anger the guys upstairs? Did he find something out that he shouldn't have? That last one didn't seem too likely, but you never know. Maybe he'd stayed in one of the test rooms too long and the shocks became too much for him. He growled in frustration and hit one of the walls of his room with a closed fist that rebounded with enough force to give himself a black eye if he had hit himself. But he didn't, so he simply winced and rubbed his hand. With a sigh he decided this wasn't worth the pain so he pushed it out of his mind and turned to the wall that was now sliding upwards to reveal the next room.
This room was a lot like that last room, except that the water strip was about as wide as he was tall and the room was actually...padded? He walked up to one of the walls and touched it. Yep, it was padded. Random...
He spotted a board leaning further down the wall. Also random. He approached it curiously and picked it up. It was light, but sturdy. Thought ran his hand along its broad side. It was perfectly smooth too. He looked from the board to the water then laid it across the stream. As his hunch predicted, it floated.
With a smile Thought lowered himself carefully from the edge of the bank onto the floating board. He landed on it with a small splash and laid stomach-down across its short side. This reminded him of something.. An image of a swimming pool came to his mind. That's right, this was similar to a swimming toy. He kicked off the side of the bank and dog-paddled to the other side in seconds. Wow, that brought back memories.. except.. it didnt. It should've, but it didn't. Thought hung his head dejectedly for a moment before climbing out of the water to pick a button. Again.
The buttons looked the same as they always did, but he was bored with getting a corresponding bar. Impulsively he pressed both of the buttons at the same time as many times as he could before they sank back into the wall. He barely managed 4.

Normally, when the light turned on, Silence would be ;azy and continue to sleep for a while longer before waking up. This time, however, he awoke with a start. Probably because the light wasn't the normal, searing white. Instead, it was a dull, almost dying, red. This scared him.

"Holy ****! We're all gonna' diiiieeeee!" he screamed. He jumped out of his sleeping place and began running around in circles, still screaming nonsense about how it was the end of the world. Silence only began to slow down and stopped screaming because the light had returned to its original brightness (and his throat was was starting to hurt from screaming for so long with no warning).

'You moron,' his shadow snapped at him, 'it's finally morning and- hey, what the heck do you think you're doing?'

Collapsed, in the middle of the floor, with his butt in the air and his face mashed into the floor, Silence mumbled a reply which sounded vaguely like; "Weph gonna' gorf meshed 'tatoes on th' footh, niphith (We're gonna get mashed together on the floor, nitwit)." Looking up, Silence picked a random area on the wall and glared at it, still in his uncomfortable position.

He feet slid backwards slowly as his mouth hung open in silent surprise. At the exact position where he had been staring, a door slid open, which caused him to form some thoughts about how he had to be psychic (oh, how far from the truth can he go?). This silent wonder didn't last long since, as soon as he was level once more, he jumped up and ran into the other room...

Silence didn't get very far, however, as he lost his balance near the open doorway. Stepping to the side to regain his balance, but never actually slowing down or stopping, he soon found himself attempting to run through the wall to the right of the doorway. Needless to say, it didn't work. It took several minutes for him to actually stop and feel his way around the wall, his face throbbing and his left hand covering his nose and eyes. Stumbling through the doorway, Silence finally opened his eyes and took a look at his surroundings...

...And immediately went back to his room. He had better things to do than bother with that strip of water. He could be worrying about how that plaque worked, and maybe seeing if he could find some company in this lonely place. He did not, however, wish to experience that near-death experience that he had been through once before. In his opinion, once was more than enough, and so he began closely examining the plaque with every intention to ignore the water. Unless somewhat strong shocks were used, he probably wouldn't even bother moving towards the water.
