The Fall of Aegwathar (Still accepting)

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby darth.terramort on Sat Oct 10, 2009 12:03 pm

The year - 23,458

The setting - War. The humans and the Shadow-Demons (Shal-Gotten) has escalated over the entire planet of Aegwathar.

The planet - Aegwathar. A massive planet, with nearly 15 times the landmass of earth (roughly 23560 km. in diameter) It is covered in about 80% water. The main continent of Antalon has most of the landmass, followed in size by Beregond, a large northern continent that giants and frost elves called home, covered almost year round by snow and ice. There is also a massive forest that covers 2 thirds of Beregond. Much of the climate is like Canada on Earth. Elemmakil is a large southern continent, connected to Antalon by a fairly large peninsula. Elemmakil is largely a desert region, home to gins and desert people. Elotav lies to the East of Antalon, and inhabited only by the Rhamiel. The rest of the landmass is either islands or smaller continents scattered around the planet.

((OOC: Sorry about the bad quality. I'm working on that part right now. Take this map and edit it when you join to show your country/city and E-Mail it to me at Darth.Terramort@gmail.com ))

The races -

The Alliance
Dragons - Some dragons have chosen to aid the alliance. These are true dragons, noble and strong.
High Elves - Proud and powerful, the elves have been pushed back, almost into extinction. Their capitol destroyed, they now live amongst humans.
Humans - The nation of Aegwathar, named after the planet, is the strongest and most powerful nation on the planet. It's capitol is Don-K'nell, located on a large island in the center of a massive inland lake.
Dwarves - Forced to emerge by the enemy, they chose to aid the humans in their fight against the Shal-Gotten.
Gnomes - Small, intelligent, and crafty, these creatures full the inventions for the Alliance.
Satyrs (also known as fawns) - Half goat, half human, satyrs have joined the Alliance, in hopes that one day, every race will embrace them as true beings, not just "halvers."

The Malakil-iva (The Sword-side)
Shal-Gotten - Not true demons, these shadow demons hold the second largest empire, encompassing almost all of the southern continent of Elemmakil.
Wyrms - Like Dragons, except evil.
Gargoyles - Once populous and good, their recent near extinction has left them bitter and angry with the Alliance.
Lycanthropes (Were-Wolves) - Having decided to join the Malikal-iva, these ravaged humans will do anything for fresh meat.
Chaos Demons - The true demons of Aegwathar, they are the fourth most powerful creatures (Right behind Wyrms and Dragons)
Orcs - Large, goblin like creatures, with a sense of honor, and a thirst for violence.
Therianthropes - Like their cousins, the lycans, but each therian is capable of transformation into it's own creature.
Draconians - The perverted offspring of wyrms, draconians are fast, strong, intelligent, and powerful. The shock troops of Malakil-iva.

The Neutral forces
The rest of the dragons.
Druids and Nymphs.
Titans - These raw forces of nature inhabit the "roof of the world."
Giants - Living right below the titans, giants are unintelligent, yet powerful.
Mideans - These short, humanoid creatures have a love for trouble, adventure, and trickery.
D'nari - The so-called "dark-elves," these elves desire nothing but peace.
Vampyres - Choosing no side, these powerful creatures were once either human or elf, but now see themselves as protectors of the weak.
Centaurs - Wise and noble, they refuse to alter fate directly.
Minotaurs - Large, bull-like men, minotaurs guard the ancient shrines of the gods.
Eldlost - The frost elves of the North, eldlost prefer not to fight at all.

The unknown force
Undead - A strange plague running it's course in the western-most reaches of Antalon.
Shape-Shifters - Dangerous creatures capable of taking the shape of any living being.
Rhamiel - The only inhabitants of Elatov, these humanoids fly on wings of light, and have greater magic than even the elves. Some call them angels.
Blood-Elves - Finding that blood also fuels magic, these Elves have forsaken their brethren, and joined the rhamiel.
Nightmares - The most powerful, fearsome creature on the face of the planet. Nothing can stand in their way. Standing over 7 feet tall, and wielding weapons just as tall as they are, and having control of the most wild of magics, nightmares are the bane of all things living.

The mysterious force
Offworlders - They seem human, but have arrived via massive, mechanical beasts... Their current wants and goals is currently unknown, although they seem to favor the Alliance....

Rules:

1. At least try for a decent length reply.

2. No god-modding, unless you are playing a character that deserves it (Nightmare, Dragon, Wyrm)

3. You can run as many characters as you want, but make a new post for each character.

4. Keep it respectful, and keep OCC comments in parenthesis at the bottom of your post.

5. Language is ok if it's your character speaking, but nothing like "and the fucking massive boulder...." I don't find "fucking" to be a very good adjective. :)

6. Please, PLEASE use proper grammar and spelling. It makes reading so much easier and fun.

7. Ok, I know you all want them super bad, but try and keep the mixed-race characters to a minimum. I tried to give a massive list of races, so you should all be happy. Riiiight? :D

The Bio Sheet:

Name -

Race (See my first post for a list) -

Name - Tyrunder Swifthoof

Race (See my first post for a list) -Centaur

Age - 17 years

Height and Weight - Tyrunder stands about 64 inches tall at the withers, and has an overall height of around 8.5 feet tall (measuring from his hoof to his head). He weighs about 1,350 lbs. (it sounds like a lot, but when you think about it, he is a human torso attached to a horse)

Background - Tyrunder grew up in the open plains on the peninsula connecting the southern continent of Elemmakil, with the northern continent of Antalon. The peninsula is mostly hot plains with sparse forests before heading south into dryer climates. Tyrunder is part of the Strong Hoof village in the plains. With the war spreading its dark claws all over the planet there are few places untouched by the scourge of war. Tyrunder and his village encountered any different people heading both north and south through the plains to either join in the war or are fleeing from it with whatever they could carry. Tyrunder, seeing that the war was soon going to become more violent in the north chose to gather up his armor and weapons and journey north to join a side and try to find some way to help end the war quickly. When the elders of the tribe heard of his plan they tried to warn him of his folly and to talk him out of going. Tyrunder listened to the esteemed elders with respect but declined their advice, telling them of his need to do whatever he could to end the war, he told the elders he would do what he believed was right with or without their blessing. The elders saw mettle in his gaze and gave him their blessing and sent the willful warrior on his way. The next day he packed his armor, weapons and some supplies and set out to join either the Alliance or Malakil-iva.

Current location and role in the war - Tyrunder is on the road north to the capital of the humans, Don-K'nell where he plans to get a more full view on what the Alliance is planning to do for the war. (I left the exact area unspecific; just assume it's in Antalon, heading towards the capital)

Gear: Tyrunder wears a shirt of chain mail, with heavier plate pieces on the chest and shoulders. On his withers he has a chain mail blanket covering most of his back. Tyrunder wears a plate helm with a small cape around his neck made of chain mail (like the top and sides of his head is protected by thin plate mail, the beck of his neck, the front of his neck and sides are protected by a sheet of chain mail. he carries a leather pack on his back containing food and such. his weapons include a long bow with 20 arrows (held in a quiver hanging from his right front shoulder) and a long spear with a leaf shaped blade at the end. also he has a short blade and triangular shield both hanging from his withers.

Description (Picture or words, or both. Whatever you want.) - Tyrunder torso is a tan weathered color from living on the plains south of Antalon; his horse body is short brown hair the color of red clay mixed with earth. The hair atop his head is a dark mass of short curls. His ears are elongated triangles similar to regular horses' ears.

Weapon - 7' Zwiehander, his own body.

Description - Image

Rhazharal looked at his the other forces on the ship DreamCrusher. The forces on this particular ship were all Chaos Demons, from beyond the void. Rhazharal didn't trust the shape-shifters one bit, and the blood elves... well, he was always too tempted too consume their souls. But he had his orders. Rhazharal was too crush this fledgling Empire that was being formed. The Western City-States would pose no threat. The plague will have killed them all soon.

Looking over the blue expanse, he could see the shore line on the horizon. The races of Aegwathar would soon no longer worry about the war between the humans and the Shal-Gotten. They would worship him as leader, and he would consumer their souls with pleasure...

Lost in his own visions of the future, Rhazharal stared off into the horizon with his glowing, demonic eyes.

(Ok, just to try and get things moving here, I'm making a filler character. Feel free to do with him as you please. He belongs to everybody. Make him talk, make him fly, even kill him, if you want.

Name - Bel'zak

Race - Draconian (Cyan)

Age - Unknown

Height and Weight - 6'4", 275 lbs.

Background - Loyal slave to the Goddess of revenge and destruction, Ashlotte. He is a cyan draconian, meaning he has the ability to fly. The smallest of all draconians, cyans lack the sheer strength of their red brethren, and the magic using abilities of their green brothers. However, cyan draconians are the only ones that can truly fly, and their cunning and intellilgence more than makes up for the lack of strength and magic.

Current location and role in the war - Heading North toward Antalon on a scouting assignment.

Weapons - Short sword and small shield

Description - Taller than most humans, even the smallest of the draconain race is a formidable opponent. They have the ability to fly, and are the most intelligent of all the draconians.

Bel'zak flew North, scouting the land. He had just sent back reports of a large centaur village, near the center of the Antilleces Penninsula. The rest of the draconian shock force would soon be there. Accompanied by the great green wyrm, Cellenthees, the village had no hope of a single survivor, much less a chance at defense.

Staying below the cloud cover, Bel'zak's cyan scales helped him blend in with the early morning light making him almost invisible. He flew along, searching for villages, or anything else of interest. It was boring work, but necessary.

It wasn't until nearly 10 that something caught his eye. Down below, a single lone centaur galloped along. Keeping his flight, Bel'zak wondered if he should report this, go ahead and attack, or do nothing...

Re: The Fall of Aegwathar

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby darth.terramort on Mon Oct 12, 2009 12:13 am

Terramort and his brigand of followers entered the City-State of Dag-Kilimesh. It's capitol city, Granselth, was an economic disaster. This town was the last barrier between the Plague-Lands of the West, the rest of the Western City-States. Many of the families here had sent men and boys to join the war, willingly joining Aegwathar's cause, but very few had returned. Even more families were refuges from the Plague to west. It was rumored that the plague was more than a simple disease, and those killed by it re-animated as the living dead... But that remained to be seen.

Traveling through the city square, Terramort looked around in appellation at the ruin that lay around him. Everywhere, refugees and survivors lived in little shacks, sleeping on dirt floors, eating bugs to survive. Once the pinnacle of technology of the City-States, the AirDocks remained silent, and the manufacturing centers unnaturally still.

Wandering into one the steam-powered centers that appeared to be still somewhat operational, Terramort looked around, and saw only one girl working. She appeared to be human, with fire-orange hair, a cute face, but seemingly shy. Walking up to her, he introduced himself.

"Hello, miss. My name is Terramort. My friends call me Terra, however. Could you please tell me what you know of this place? What is happening to the West, what happened to this town? It used to the the most profitable part of the Western City-States, but now..." Terramort shook his head.

Aya slowly turned to look at the man standing before her. Glancing between him and his party. When asked about Dag-Kilimesh and it's conditions, she wondered, 'Did he not know what had happened, had he been so out of the loop to not understand what was going on.' Aya wiped her brow and smiled slightly, but with a sad look in her eyes.

"We're devestated here, with Granselth in such an economic downturn, the city is having troubles keeping people employed. Along with the plague continuing to spread and slowly creep twards us, more and more citizens are getting ill. The few of us left that are healthy enough to work are doing whatever scrap jobs we can to get by, to support ourselfs and our families. With all the sick and unemployed the city is having troubles continuing a float, along with the rest of the west, they also seem to be in the same situation."

She scratched her nose, looking down at her feet and the dirt blowing around them. Suddenly she jumped a little bit, looking at Terramort.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, you must think I'm terribly rude, my name is Aya Valtine, but you can just call me Aya."

Terramort digested this information, a thoughtful look on his face. "It's nice to make your acquaintance, Aya. Most of the people around here are afraid of outsiders... Especially me, with my strange hair. Some say that I was the offspring of the white-haired Rhamiel, but I assure you, I know both of my parents."

More like knew my parents... but oh well. The past cannot be changed, he though to himself.

He looked around, then at his company. "Some of you, explore this city. You have full permission granted by me, your Emperor and lord, to seek out diplomatic peace, and offer our Empire's aid here. The manufacturing centers and AirDome's would make a fine addition to any nation. The rest of you, prepare to move out."

Terramort turned to walk away, but had a moment's hesitation. "Aya, how would you like to come with us? We are traveling to the plague infested west, to find out what is going on. I have heard rumors of the living dead, and want to know if they are true. Before you refuse, know that money is not an issue. You will be well taken care of upon our return, and will be, if you so desire, granted citizenship unto the Empire."

Raising one eyebrow, Terramort waited for his answer.

The Nightmare, Rhazharal, looked at the burnt land in front of him. His minions were offloading onto the mainland. Behind him, the Greater Western Islands lay under his rule, and ahead of him, the defenses of the Western City-States were already in ruin.

As he stalked upon the burnt city of Helsouth, the bodies of those killed by the plague rose of their own accord, making their way too him, groaning as they stumbled along.

"Undead minions, I have a task for you!"

His voice was loud, yet was like gravel being ground together.

"This day, we shall march to Granselth. If it falls before they can re-vitalize their economy and technology, this shall be an easy victory! You, undead minions... Go forth, and destroy all in your path!"

As this message was yelled, all across the plague-lands, the bodies of those killed by the plague began to move toward Granselth, slowly, stumbling, feeling nothing, only listening to the voice of the Damned.

Rhazharal smiled an evil, inward smile to himself. It would take a few days for the undead to reach the city, but all Rhazharal had was time. He could wait...

Aya looked at Terramort with a confused, puzzled look on her face. She tilted her head to the side slightly, looking away from him. She glanced around the area, the deserted center, the dirt being blown around in the air, then she looked back at him.

"Aren't you afraid? I mean, you have all of these people with you...aren't you worried that they'll get the plauge as well? Going farther into the Western City-States is dangerous, you don't know what could happen there. All in all, Dag-Kilimesh is doing pretty well compared to everywhere else. Along with the rumors going around with the plauge, it shakes up the nerves."

She sighed heavy and rubbed her forehead, closing her eyes for a moment. Slowly she lifted her head back up and smiled at him, taking a couple steps twards him and bringing her head down to get a better look at his face.

"And I don't think your hair strange, just unique, it's nice to see a change."

She circled around him once, letting herself stop by his side, she looked straight ahead not making eye-contact.

"Earlier you said, 'You have full permission granted by me, your Emperor and lord" and "if you so desire, granted citizenship unto the Empire" is there more to you Terramort then you let on?"

She turned again facing him now, arms crossed with a small, but somewhat devious smile.

"If you fill me in on some things, I'd be more then glad to go with you, it would be a pleasure,"

Terramort looked at the girl. "Yes... there is a little more to me than meets the eye."

He gave a deep bow. "I am Emperor Terramort Lossehelin the 1st, successor of Emperor Alex Lossehelin the 2nd. My parents were killed in the was with the Shal-Gotten. I am traveling from the Empire to try and make alliances with those who wish for peace, and also to find the cause of this plague. I have trained medical physicians with me, along with elves skilled in the art of healing. Normal ailments will not be a problem for us. If that is what this plague is..."

Terramort looked around. "If you choose to come with us, we will have the finest accommodations available. I have brought enough money to by the finest of the cities Airships, the W.C.S. Liberty. We will take her out the westernmost coast and back. If all goes well, we won't spend more than a little time on the ground, minimizing our chances of catching the plague."

From outside, a young man with dark hair and clean shaven face poked his head in through the door. "Emperor, the Liberty has been bought, and is fully supplied, and ready for take off. We are just waiting on you sir."

"Thank you, Lieutenant Codwell. I shall be along very shortly." The lieutenant nodded, and took off.

"Well, Aya, would you like to accompany us? I would much appreciate the company."

Aya's eyes went wide in shock, her face turned a bright tomato red and she bowed so that her face could not be seen.

"I'm so sorry Emperor, I didn't know it was you,"

She kept her head down for a moment then lifted it back up slightly trying not to Terramort but finding it difficult not to, with his new found idenity. However Aya did think about the offer that was presented to her, to go with him and his companions. She thought about the war, how her parents were killed by it, and what they would have wanted her to do.

Well Father would have wanted me to go of course, and Mother as well...and with them parted from here...I have nothing to stay here for, except for this awful job...

Aya looked at Terramort for a moment, glancing between him and the dirt under both of them. Her face now only slightly pink from her embarrassment. With a shy voice and a little bit of stuttering,

"I would very much so like to go with you and your companions, there isn't anything here to stay for really, except for this horrific jobs and waiting for the plague to come and get us...So if the offer still stands, I would gladly go with you."

"Of course the offer still stands. And do not worry about treating me like royalty. I'm the same as any other person. No better, no worse. Now, we must get going. The Liberty will be leaving soon." He turned and walked out of the room.

The journey to the airship was un-eventful, mostly just passing the homeless, and the almost-homeless. The AirDome was in bad repair, most of the roof having fallen in, and almost all of the mechanics lay in ruin. The only workable part it seemed, was the part the held the docked Liberty.

She was a majestic airship, the finest all of Aegwathar could offer. Built on gnomish mechanics, human innovation, and elvish magic, it could patrol the skies endlessly.

Jawdroped, Aya looked at him, then looked back over at the Liberty. She walked over to it, looked at it up and down. She turned around, back twards the ship and facing Terramort.

"It's huge! I never would have expected something like this, I mean, I've never even seen something like this before, it's amazing..."

She trailed of and looked back at the Liberty. She never imagined anything like this before, all she could do was look at it in awe. Not to mention her mind was racing with the different possablities of what it looked like on the inside, let alone the outside of it. She smiled and crossed her arms, with her back sitll facing him.

"Well, I think you have yourself one spectacular ship here, and the things that you see when your in it are probably even more incredible."

"Well, I've never actually been inside... But I'm told it is as luxiourious on the inside as the outside. Now, the plan is this - we will be heading toward the Western coast. From there, we will touch down, and then take a look. At that point, we will be expiremining with the plague... I hope the rumors of the undead are not true. Now, are we ready to embark?"

The members of the company boreded the Liberty and prepared for take off. The hired engineers of Granselth knew exactly what they were doing. The take off was as smoot as it was breath-taking. Below the airship, the whole city of Granselth sprawled. The Western gates to the plaguelands stood solid, seemingly impregnibale.

The Liberty sailed smoothly over the deserted land.

"Sir, you might want to come take a look at this..." Terramort turned to Lieutenant Codwell. "What is it?" Terramort asked.

Heading to the outer deck of the airship, Terramort took a look at the ground below. Hordes of people were heading toward the city Granselth. "Regugees?" he asked the lieutenant. Codwell shook his head. "No, I don't think so. They seem... lifeless. We used the loud speaker on them, but to no response. They just keep ambling on."

Terramort looked for a moment. "Aya... what do you think of this? They are all heading toward Granselth, it seems."

The horde of the "refugees" spread far into the horizon, the mass of humanity spreading and growing in numbers.

Aya walked over slowly and looked out over the harizon. Looking over all of them, she started to feel a little cold.

"This isn't right...there are so many of them...is it possible that they are...what was left from the plague?"

Aya looked at Terramort and Codwell then back outside looking over them, watching the direction that they are coming from and how the numbers just seemed to keep growing. She turned her back to the window looking at both of them.

"You said that they seemed lifeless, and it's true, they do, what if the rumors are true, what if those people down there are actually....dead...?"

She looked a little puzzled, turning her head tward the window slightly and thinking for a moment. Whispering to herself.

"But why are the all heading in the same direction, twards Granselth...could there be something over there that would make them go that way....?"

Aya shook her head then looked at Terramort, wrapping her arms around her shoulders.

"I don't understand, if they are undead, only a few if any have ever been seen before, why all of a sudden are there so many of them, it just doesn't make any sense..."

Terramort looked at Aya, then back at the masses of people down below. "I hope you are wrong, and that these are just refugees... but, my instinct tells me you are right." He looked behind him, speaking in a low voice. "Codwell, I want you to take one of the gyro-copters back to the city. Warn them of an incoming invasion. Tell them to fortify the Western wall. These people don't seem intelligent... but something is driving them. I don't know what, but tell Senator Ashoran to be ready."

Turning back to Aya, Terramort looked at her for just a moment. "I'm sorry for dragging you along with us. But, here is probably the safest place to be from the war, and all that is going on. The city-state of Dag-Kilimesh once had the best airforce on all of Aegwathar. The Empire will soon surpass that, if it hasn't already."

He turned to go inside the airship as it traveled over the plaguelands. At this rate, it would reach the Western coast in less than a day. "Are you coming inside, miss?"
