Scythe frowned out the window as the king came in. He was yelling something about disrespecting him. Scythe had assumed that was a general on the comm link. He really should've double checked before he just let his mouth off. Scythe turned around to face Caleb and he bowed a bit. "Was that you my leige? I apoligize. I had thought it was one of those good for nothing generals we have. I would never have dreamed of speaking you in such a manner. Since my last mission there was that explosion and my hearing hasn't been the same from that point on. With my comm link a bit fuzzy and my hearing messed up I hadn't heard it was you. Please trust me, I did not realize it was you. In fact I was just telling the princess here that I haven't talked to you lately. In fact I was inviting her to the meeting that you called to be in a few days."

Satisfied, Caleb returned to comfortable smugness - sort of his default - as he listened to Scythe's reassurances. "Good, good." he nodded complacently.
When Scythe addressed Lily a tiny, subconscious sneer pulled up a corner of Caleb's lip. He finally faced her, to look at her like something lower, something incomprehensible, as if Scythe had an antelope in his office. He was annoyed that Scythe would bring her into this conversation, and even more annoyed when he said he was inviting her to a meeting...
His eyes focused with realizing. "Meeting?" he asked blankly.
"We're meddlesome. We tell people what to do, what to think.Don't run, don't walk.

We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right."

Scythe looked at the king. He looked blankly when Scythe mentioned the meeting. It was as if he knew of nothing of it. He was sure a messenger told him of a meeting though. "My liege, I was informed this morning by a servant that you have called a meeting set to take place in two days. Did you not send said servant? I beleive some of the generals know of it as well. Surely you sent him my leige." Scythe felt uneasy. Perhaps this was a spy. One hidden in the castle? That was impossible, no? It had to be but Scythe was prepared to double the eaters patrol numbers.

Lily was quite as her father walked into the room, Apparently angry at Scythe for being rude to him. Then Scythe did something deadly, mentioned her. She saw the look of disgust in her fathers eyes as he looked at her momenterially. That look terrified her, it always had done throughout her entire childhood. Then his eyes flicked back to Scythe, she saw his expression become more formal. It annoyed her that he seemed disgusted by her presence, but she let it ride, not wanting to expose herself, especially here, in front of his father, the leader of the killer of the aura wielders and his right hand man, who would do anything her father said.

Shrinking against the encasing wall of dirt, Kiljoy was trying to make out if there was anything at the end of the tunnel. He was trying to estimate distance, but with the way the tunnel kept going, he couldn't tell if there were any bends and turns that would make it even longer. His body was twitching and his mind screaming about being under the dirt and decay which wasn't helping his feeble attempt at concentrating at all. Trying to grasp distance was like trying to fish for a whale in a puddle for Kiljoy in his current state. He still felt like things were crawling inside his clothing, but it was a secondary sensation to his fear of the walls of dirt. So much in fact that Kiljoy was unable to act heavily insane in front of these new faces (which hindered his created image), and even the insanity he couldn't control was overwhelmed by the phobia. He sat there in a squat like a statue, not paying attention to Xen's offer for transportation or even Soki's antagonizing jabs.

The recession was beginning to be far too much for even Kiljoy, but his mind grabbed a firm hold on an escape. Kiljoy's body began to rise off the ground, his posture remaining tight as he stayed away from the walls as much as possible. Hovering over the ground was a simple task, but he wanted to be a little bit higher. With a firm hold on his only saving grace, he concentrated on rising a bit more so that he was about mid-thigh on the girl in height. Finally changing his position, Kiljoy sat cross-legged in the air with his arms folded tightly across his chest. "I'll go on ahead," he said in a still, quiet voice. The wind, whatever wind his was able to muster underground, pushed against Kiljoy's back thrusting him ahead of the three and down the tunnel. Kiljoy was already sweating from concentration. He hoped he could last till the base.

Xen nooded to the seemeingly crazy man. He was different once underground though. He almost seemed normal. He was using wind to move pretty fast down the tunnel. "He's quick but we'll be faster." The ice that now covered their feet began to twich. "Keep standing up and keep you arms close to you person. I'll do the rest of the work." The ice on the floor began to raise like a wave and then slammed down creating a wave of ice pushing them down the tunnel at incredible speeds. As the ice hit the ground it silently disappeared. As they were moving they blasted past Killjoy. He'd probably use the wind they left behind to keep up. Xen looked at Soki. "The names Xen by the way." Then he turned to the girl. "It's a good thing you can heal us. I'm not to keen on stopping. No worries though. I've hit brick walls at this kind of speed and lived. We should be fine.... Yeah, we should be fine."

His brow furrowed in thought, Cal looked at the ground. He shook his head, perplexed. "But... I didn't," he insisted. Slowly he looked up. "You said the generals would be there? Seems like a real good trap to me. Wish I'd thought of it before they -". He stopped, then assumed a more businesslike tone. "Where are each of our generals now and how fast can we get messengers to them?" His body and expressions were dead still. There was no need to explain what a blow it would be to Caleb's regime to lose so many high-ranking officers; Scythe himself was meant to be there, for Christ's sake! Cal stared at Scythe with a look in his eyes that went beyond worry. It had in it the prescience of the matter, the necessity of the right answer to his question. This could be the rise of the resistance and the death of Caleb, and Cal was absolutely determined not to let that happen. It showed in the tense muscles of his face, the way he held his arms and the brand-new ulcer eating away at his stomach lining.

Scythe stared at his king. He ran over to the comm link. "I want double the dogs to patrol the castle now. Every room get's checked by them. Only my room and the kings chambers are to be left alone. I will cover them myself. Understand?" The voice on the other side responded yes but asked what they were looking for. "It's of no importance. The dogs will find it if it's here." Scythe turned to the king. "My lord. We must keep you safe. The unfortunate thing is that we cannot trust anyone outside this room beside the generals and the dogs. What should we do now my lord?"

Caleb listened as Scythe said, "We must keep you safe". He like that. He stood up a little straighter, grinned a little bit. Unfortunately he still didn't have a clue what he and his minions should do, but it gave him the courage to open his mouth and see what would come out.
What came out was rather brilliant. "Nothing. Do nothing. There are probably a couple we could get a messenger to in time, but if we did that, the rest of their sacrifices would be for nothing. 'Cause we're gonna let them go to their meeting. And just... see what happens. We can see who shows up to ambush them. Those unnatural, self-righteous traitors aren't gonna expect anything from us, since they don't know we know, so they won't watch what they say. We can't get an army there in time, but we can get one or two men to hide in the shadows. W can learn so much. There'll be a couple men I'll regret losing, but the information is worth so much more. So much more."
He was grinning more now. He'd saved the day. He'd taken a crisis and turned it into that other thing the "crisis" Chinese symbol also stood for, what was it again? Opportunity. A fabulous opportunity. And any General worth his salt would make it out alive anyway, right? A test. Yes, that's what it was,a test.
Feeling that he was pretty damn brilliant, he crossed his arms over his chest and raised a challenging eyebrow at Scythe. Somehow his right hand man always found something wrong with his plans, no matter how genius, how praiseworthy.
He stood and grinned like an idiot child and waited for the rebuff.

Scythe didn't like the answer that much. Letting so many go to their deaths would be unadvisable but then again he was on thin ice. "Sir it is a decent plan but not perfect. What if they decided to bomb it. Surely our generals would not survive it... We cannot risk our best generals' lives. The lesser generals and the others to attend are expendable. Although sir they may not strike until they see you. We need to find a double. They need to think they've hurt you maybe even have killed you. Then we will draw out their full attack." Scythe walked back to the comm. "This was only a drill. Bring all the extras back and keep up the good work."

Lily was suddenly scared, she didn't know it was that was holding this ambush but she knew that the only person who were likely to do so were the wielder, who she was quite close to, she pretended to be intrested in what they were saying, trying to think of a reason to get out and find the wielders. "Excuse me," was all she manged before she marched out of the the room, staring wildy around, looking for anyone who wasn't supposed to be in there.

((Where is everyone?.....))

After going on for a while they reached the end of the tunnel and Xen used Ice to ease their ending. None of them were too hurt. It was however not an easy landing. Ubove them however is what they were waiting for. The exit. Opening the hatch Xen climbed out. He looked around. That's when he saw a village in the trees.

All the trees around them were filled with buildings. In fact the only building on the ground was the main headquaters of the resistance. It was a magnificant place. All around was the feeling of hope. Little did he know though that quite a few of the homes in the trees, were empty. The only way inside this camp however was by tunnel or air. No wonder none could find it.

Jason was worried. They had lost two more members today, bringing them down to 5 including himself. If they didn't find help soon, they would all die. One of his close friends and his second in comand when he had his own platoon was walking towards Jason at the top of the cliff. The man, Hariot, held up his hand in gretting and said, "Sara and Trillian finished scouting the woods ahead. It appears that there is a tunnel entrance there but we have no idea what purpose it serves." Jason thought for a moment. This could be the chance they needed. If it is the entrance to the rebellion HQ, then they are saved. If anything else, well, then they are most likely all done for. At the moment, Jason had to take the risk. "Ok, gather the remaining supplies. We are going to see what is on the other end of that tunnel."
FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT!!!

(Sorry... I was kind of waiting for people to post so that they were not being left behind or anything and so that they could have some imput)

Emi was suprised when they came to a sudden stop and felt her body come crashing to the ground. Looking over her body she saw that there were no real injuries to her body and none to any of the others either. Emi was glad that she wouldnt have to use her power again. It drained her when she did and if they were not in a desperate need for it then she prefered not to use it. This probably came from her time while hiding.

Watching Xen climb up the ladder and out the hatch Emi waited a few moments to see if anything bad was waiting out there for them. When she heard nothing she guessed it was ok and made her way towards the ladder, putting one foot in front of the other and slowly climbed the ladder and surfaced. Looking around at the bright setting light that now surrounded them Emi was suprised by what she saw and relieved at the same time.

"Wow... it looks like we found it" Emi said with a grin. Taking a few steps towards the trees Emi stoped. She couldnt help but wonder if this was some sort of trap or even if the rebellion would be pleased to see them. Emi could see how they might see the small group she was traveling with as a treat of some sort. Turning back to the tunnel she called back down. "Are you guys coming up here? You have to see this"
Maybe you're going to be the one who saves me...

Soki groaned as he looked up "Do I have to i've come to enjoy busting my ass on all this ice..." he groaned climbing up the lader and out the hatch as he sat on solid ground groanning and rubbing at his backside. "Yo Mister Freeze that's the last time I travel on icecicle express....." he said calmly as he stood up looking around, oh this was something he could understand but would they truly accept them, well if they didn't Soki wouldn't blame them.

((Don't worry Claire. It's cool. We should still have enough people to continue.))

((I'm putting this here due to the fact that I can't double in the ooc.
My cousin will not be able to take over as the rebellion leader. So here is what I propose. I'll NPC the leader to be one of the assassin's at the meeting and she will meet an untimely end. Then we could have one of two things occur. Either Death by Chocolate's character takes over the rebellion as the new leader picking a new second. Or we could have Iowa's character take it over in the previous leaders place with either Chocolate's character watching him closely or co leading. What would you guy's prefer? Answer in the ooc please.))

Jason was hoping for the best as he walked down through the forest, looking for the tunnel that his men had found earlier. "Sir!" Hariot said in a quit but assertive tone. "We have people up ahead, possible hostile." Jason signaled for the group to drop there supplies and fan out around the tunnel entrance. He then crept forward, looking about him to make sure this wasn't a trap of some sort. As he peered through the clearing, he saw a group of people, refugees from the looks of it, conversing with each other and looking down the tunnel.

They are aura users like us. Jason thought to himself. There is no threat here but it pays to be careful. He signaled his group and they calmly walked out brush, into the open with their weapons drawn and aimed towards the group. Jason also walked into the open but did not pull out his pole-arm. He spoke calmly and got straight to the point, "Where are you going?"

Asher sat behind a small wooden desk. It felt strange to be on this side of it. The desk belonged to the rebellion leader, Red, and he usually stood in front of it to give his reports. But, Red was gone at the moment, and it was up to him to lead the rebellion in her absence. His person log was open before him, and his pen was scrawling across the page feverishly. It stopped when he was interrupted by a knock at the door.

"Come in," he called.

The door opened and a soldier walked in. The look on his face was slightly nervous. Asher looked up at him expectantly. "Do you have something to report?"

"Yes, Sir. We've had contact on the southern end of the camp. It looks to be a group of civilians, Sir. Friendlies."

Asher raised an eyebrow. The rebel's camp was secret, it was unlikely that civilians would know where it was located. He thought for a moment, and then nodded. "Bring them to me," he directed. The soldier nodded and began to exit. "Oh," Asher said as an afterthought, "and until we know for sure that their friendlies, treat them as hostiles."

((Just ignore my previous post as I never really got around to editing it. ><))

Jason sliced away the brush in search of the marked tree. He was told that there was a tree here somewhere that would indicate the entrance to the tunnel. "Sir!" Jason turned as one of his men waved for him to come here. He briskly ran ran to them and glanced over the tree they had pointed out. The tree had a heart carved onto it with the letters J and R inside and the usual arrow running through it. Jason placed his hand on the tree and closed his eyes. It was if he could still remember the time when he carved it. He waited a long time for this day. Jason opened his eyes and went in the direction of the arrow that pierced the heart. Through the brush was a hidden tunnel and he stepped aside and looked to his remaining men. "At the other end of this tunnel is freedom and safety. We have been through hell to get here and a good rest is well deserved. I do not expect any more of you after this and I hope that you can live in peace here." His men said nothing but he knew that they would not be tossed away just like that. No, when the time came, they would be used again.

((I'm bring Soki and Emi with me so Death by Chocolate can post as well as any one of you.))

Vann looked around the place still in awe. It was amazing but like all good things the amazement came to an end. A few people walked over to them with their auras activated.

They made them put their hands behind their back. Then their hands were covered with a layer of rock and then ice. This was because they didn't know who they were yet. The resistance was still alive because they knew everyone couldn't be trusted. It was a logical move that couldn't be fought.

After not giving a struggle; due to the fact that they would be seen as an enemy if they did; they were brought before the second in command. There they stood awaiting his words.

((Death by Chocolate- Johnny; that was Xen's friend; was a member of the resistance. He would recruit new members. Xen doesn't know he was a member but that's how he knew of the tunnel. Just though that was kinda important info.))
