On the city outskirts lays a forest known as 'The Forest of No Returns'. This name hasn't just been handed out for any old reason either. The people that have ventured into it from the city, still haven't returned. What's inside this forest? No one knows because no one returns. The only people that might know, are presumed dead. Villages lay on the other side of the forest which is known through maps drawn in the past, which shows people at one stage could pass through the forest, but now, no one has a chance of getting through.
The city is a Guild of Magicians that live in peace and harmony, the 'normals', as they are referred to, living in small villages dotted all over the country of Ilena. But what is it that haunts the village just outside the city, beasts? What the magicians don't know is that in the deep dark depths of the forest though, there is a girl, a powerful girl that's got a dark past.
One day, four magicians decide to delve into the forest on a mission of their own to get to the other side and back alive. Unknown to them was that they were about to enter into something they never thought existed and find out the horrors and the truths. The Kingdom created by the magicians that now lives in peace and tranquillity, won't for much longer.
A beast knows about the girl and is after her. The magicians know nothing about this girl and the key to the power that she holds, but will soon meet her. Who's side will she pick to be on in the end, good or evil? And, which side will the magical creatures of the forest choose to help? Will they become one of the beast's minions, or will they go against him and help the magicians?
When the girl bumps into the magicians, she reveals nothing about herself though it's obvious from her bloodstained clothes that something has happened. But what? And when the Magician's finally come across a village where all the villagers have been brutally murdered, does the girl they've been travelling with, that appears completely innocent, have anything to do with the death of all these people?
The girl though, is quite powerful. More powerful than a lot of magicians, but not been at the city Guild mean's she's never been trained in how to use these powers, nor does she know her full potential. That is why the beast is after her, so he can use her to get power to the Guild, but can the Magicians stop that from happening?

Rules

I promise there aren't many...

1. Please be detailed and literate. If you can't show me that in you're profile, then I won't accept you. Simple as.
2. Magicians: Do not make yourself extraordinarily powerful. If I see this in your profile then I won't accept you either. Everyone Else: Don't make your character a Mary/Gary Sue. Again, I won't accept if you are.
3. General: I'm not a fantasy roleplayer, and this is the first time I'm trying to create a fantasy roleplayer. You're ideas and inputs are welcome and anything to improve the roleplay.
4. If you can't post for a while, let us know in the OOC and then we can work something out, and if you haven't posted in a while, make sure to read and catch up on the other posts, OR ask in the OOC.
5. Leaving. Bored of the roleplay and want to leave, let us know, don't just drop out without saying anything.
6. OOC: The OOC is around for a reason, please keep all OOC talk in the OOC and check up on it regularly for anything new.
7. Players: Please read posts to make sure you know what is going on. Also, even genders and even good and evil. I don't want everyone joining as just good or just bad, or just female or just male.
8. Romance and swearing: Romance has to be kept to PG-13 and swearing and violence is allowed, just keep it within site rules, don't let every other word be the F-word and if you offend someone, don't start flaming, apologise and then tone down whatever it was that caused offence in the first place.
9. Most important role in my opinion is to have fun.

Basically, it's a Dark elf. There isn't much on the wikipage or I would link you to that. If you don't want to be a Drow though, you could be an evil creature from the forest. ^_^

Good/Evil: Ah, um, good.
Specialisation: Alaei specializes in earth wizardry, as well as gymnastics (or pretty much everything of that sort. Backflips, front flips, handstands...that sort of thing.) She is able to alter the earth, loosen soil, form plants, kill plants, etc. Anything that has to do with earth, she can do.

Cropped, wispy, black hair that is framed around her face. Small build, she is about 5' 1" and about 95 pounds or so. She has wide, light blue eyes and a heart-shaped face. Usually, she wears a earth-green dress, spaghetti-strapped dress that goes down to a bit above her knees. She never wears shoes, for it disturbs the vibrations that travel to her feet.

Alaei is a vibrant, cheerful character. She smiles a lot, loves life, and is adept at gymnastics and earth wizardry. She has been practicing earth magic since about her 4th birthday, and she has been doing gymnastics for as long as she can remember. When she is determined, she goes for it. She doesn't give up and she doesn't stop for anything.
She has contagious laughter, and a good sense of humor. She has a bright mind, and is an annoyingly optimistic person. Some of her pet peeves would be arrogantness, a large ego, too much self-confidence, etc. When she is angry, she has a nasty temper. Some of her weaknesses are fire, and also electricity.
She does not give in easily, and does not go in for temptations or bribes.
Background:
Her parents were a happy couple before her mother perished in a fire when Alaei was 15. At birth, she could feel vibrations moving through the earth, which helped her find out if anyone was walking near. She was never frightened, and still isn't to this day.
She is an only child, and most of her family besides her father is now dead.

Appearance: Lysander is somewhat tall and though knave, he is skinny and has no fat on him at all, though little muscle on his arms and on his legs, while his stomach lays a flat six pack. He has light sandy brown skin, with freckles around his nose and also on it. His lips are thin and average length, not to long and not to short. His hair is white or pale gray it is soft and well lathered, it is straight yet somewhat wavy. It is down to his upper back, and his bangs cover his eyes, though others can still see them if approach him and look close enough, he usually keeps it down showing his ears, he keeps some over his shoulders on both sides, then have it all behind him, he twists and twines some of his hair on both sides and it in one small braid that connects from the back. His eyes are always dazed and seem as though they are empty, or emotionless, the pupil's barrier or the outter line of it is a deep black, that looks as though they are small uneven needles, the inside of his pupil is a strange power blue color that looks like pale blue deep and shaded. He has no tattoos or rune markings on his body though his ears are pierced twice on both sides and his cartilages are pierced twice also.

Personality: Lysander is free spirited and Kindhearted, He seems as though he doesn't let anything get to him. He likes to make people smile then hurt them physically, he acts as though he lives up to "Kill with Kindness."His personality seems empty though. Like his soul is always calm, its very rare that he is rude or unkind. He is somewhat protective of his friends or creatures in danger. He is loyal to nature and to those who are also Kindhearted.

When he is rude or pissed off(which again is very rare) He changes entirely. He goes on a massage rampage, either having a big tantrum or trying to rid whatever is bothering him, usually by force, once he is fired up, it usually takes water or a while for him to chill. but again this is very rare, it takes a lot for him to be like this. Rain and kind people can usually calm him down. When he is angry, the pupils in his eyes will begin to move, the shaded color of power blue will start to move and sway along with a paler off blue.

Background: Ever since birth his parent knew he was going to be a Water magician. Some people around said because of his eyes he was possessed by the water god or even a demon, though he started to develop powers at a young age, he wasn't that powerful, until he started to learn how to control it.

He started his teachings around 10, learning how to manipulate water, and create illusions and figures out of it, he enjoyed this more then just simply attacking and striking with water blows. He also learned how to start to manipulate it to help others, as such making barriers and using the power he had over water to heal small cuts and bruises.

As he got older he started more intense practices, as such flying through water, which took a long time for him to master and harder then others because he had to focus on the whole area then just small portions, though he mastered it still has problems. He's learned other things but still has trouble controlling it fully.

(On the right) Shiva is a rather attractive woman, though that is not uncommon among the drow. She has a few blue streaks in her hair because of her special power and her red eyes seem to pop out of her face because of her white hair. Her dark skin is smooth as silk and covering her body is a tight green leather body suit that is made from a strange kind of woolly cow that only lives in the underground tunnels that the drow call home. The suit is magically enhance to be as strong as plate mail and as light as clothing. She carries a long sword and a bow, both of them enchanted with her powers of wind and magically protected against the elements and damage.
Personality:
Shiva is even tempered most of the time, but has mood swings like all living beings. She mostly is cunning, sly, and sleek, able to pass off being good well enough to be trusted to get close and go in for the kill when she can. She tends to find power attractive, not really caring about appearance, but she never really loves anyone, even herself. She thinks that love is weak and simply opportunity and lust is all that she really needs to live, and so far it has worked for her quite well.

She has a passion for killing and enjoys the pain and suffering of others, especially humans and mainly young children. She is not angered easily, but when she is, she is ruthless and is not against killing in order to get gratification for herself, or for her master. She can be a lustful type before, during, or after a large battle, normally toying with the minds of the male enemies that she fights, catching them off guard with her erotic fighting style. When she is able to kill them, she normally spits on the men for being men and leaves them to die and rot.
Background:
Shiva was bored with her normal life as a priestess to Lolth and when the beast arrived she got permission from the power hungry spider queen of darkness to join forces with the new power. She was over joyed since she was a lower priestess in a house that was not so known. Many of her people were enraged by her decision, though a few others joined her and all together joined with the beast to form his army.

She had been a second child, never destined for anything great and because of that she had resented her family and had killed two of her younger siblings by the time she was 15. When she was made a priestess she killed her father but was never able to get the chance to kill her mother and one older sister. Her anger had festered and became fuel for her magic and her one specialization in magic.

Appearance: Aidan is dressed in brown leather armor, greaves, and arm protectors and usually has his green cloak wrapped around him. He has unkempt brown hair and blue eyes and a bit of a beard growing on his face. On his right hip, he has a longsword strapped to his belt and on his back, he usually carries his longbow when he doesn't have it in his hands.
Personality:[2-3 paragraphs] Aidan is brusque to say the least. He has no time for fools or anyone that means him harm. When asked his opinion on anything, he doesn't mince words and says exactly what he thinks. That isn't to say that he's without tact or that he's insensitive. He can be quite clever when he wants to be and knows better than anyone else when someone doesn't want to talk about something, they won't.
Aidan doesn't talk much, especially for the sake of making conversation. He had always been a bit of a loner, even when he was younger. Thus, he isn't one to seek attention or to join in a large crowd. He is more tolerant of different beings than normal humans, though too much chatter would give him a headache. He especially doesn't like being treated as less than an equal for long periods of time. Despite his rough exterior, however, there is kindness beneath it.
Background: Aidan grew up in one of the villages just outside the forest. His father was a hunter and it was he who taught him how to use a bow and, to a lesser extent, a sword should dangerous prey get too close to him. He was always warned by his father about the forest. He was told to only hunt on the plains outside of the forest and to never follow any gain inside it.
One day, however, when he was hunting a deer that had strayed from the forest, he ignored his father's warnings and chased after it into the forest. It was dusk before he killed the deer and he had lost himself in the forest. He tried following his and the deer's footprints out of the forest like he was taught, but he failed. The forest seemed to have had a mind of its own. Since then, he's been wondering the forest, surviving on his own, the only person he missed being his father.

Aio is tall and curvy, with cropped, snow white hair and golden eyes. Her features are wide and often ambivilant. She is normally dressed in an outfit similar to the picture, but it is made of animal skins(no top hat). She often goes barefoot.

Personality:
Aio likes to keep to herself. For most of her life she has been looking after herself and so she enjoys that solitude. She is easily annoyed by others and tends to snap, though she makes an effort to be polite. She is smart and practical and values these traits in other people. Needless and unrestrained kindness is all well and good, but the clever and the conservative, those are the ones she would rather keep her company.

Background:
Aio remembers her life vividly from around the age of four. She remembers her parents, she remembers her siblings, she remembers the small, nomadic community within the forrest that she used to live in. She remembers stopping at a small village for the night. She remembers the raid, the Dark and Light armies rising up in the night and slaying anything they could set her hands on. She remembers running into night, into the darkness. She's been on her own ever since.

Specialisation: She doesn't have a specialisation.
Appearance: Kaze has long black hair like in the picture and doesn't hold the staff. Her eyes are ice blue, unlike the picture as well. Her clothes are dirty from been in the forest and have been reduced to rags which are also covered in dry blood. Her skin is pale naturally, but from all the dirty and blood, it is mistaken as dark brown/red.
Personality: Kaze is quite shy around new people and is also quite quiet until she gets to know them. When she feels comfortable around new people, her true personality comes through and you find that she can be quite stubborn, and can have a very unbalanced temper. One minute she can be nice, the next she can be rude and nasty. Kaze also doesn't like to be given orders and chooses to do things at her own pace.
She finds it hard to trust people and is extremely wary of everyone. This causes her to snap at people a lot and not do things willingly. All in all she can be a hard child to get on with. Deep down though, when people understand her, she is a decent person and can be nice and helpful when she wants to.
Two things to watch out for with Kaze is though, that she can be all nice and cooperative, acting all innocent one minute, to get what she wants, but as soon as she has that, she can become the devil and become a nightmare again. She takes well to bribery though as well as she has to learn who is authority before she listens.
Background: Kaze was born to Jaysinda and Gorda Teems. And they knew not long after her birth that she possessed the ability of magic when they encountered a magician that was travelling. He let them know that their child had an extremely natural and raw magic inside of her like nothing he'd seen before and recommended that they head back to city with him to show the others.
He informed them that their child, Kaze seemed to have no specialisation, but a strong talent for all the elements of magic. Normally by reading a magician's soul as a child, they could find out what their strong point and specialisation would be in, but when he looked at Kaze, even as she grew in the first few years, he could sense that all the elements flared and were strong. On their journey, he started to teach Kaze when she was old enough to understand, around the age of five, small things like control and then a bit of simple defence while they travelled.
It was on the journey that they first encountered the beast, and where he also sensed the true talent of the child who was 6. The magician managed to protect the family from the beast, letting them flee while he stopped them following - it cost him his life though. Since then, Jaysinda and Gorda hid Kaze in a small village on the edge of the forest, knowing that they couldn't go through the forest as rumours had it the beast set up his home there. Instead, they tried to keep Kaze hidden as well as her magic hoping that the beast would never find them. And they managed to keep Kaze hidden for 8 years...

Edit:: Update, all character profiles that are complete, are accepted. I like them, an interesting mix. I've updated the main page, and added bits to the history which is ongoing so I'll be back and forth editing that so I'd check it every now and then just to make sure that nothing new has come up, especially if I was the last poster, I'll normally put that I've edited bits in the bottom of that post, but of course, it won't say that I've updated on your posts, so it's good just to check.

Appearance: Adalia is a petite girl, slender yet very strong. She may look frail but it is quite the opposite. She has long silver like hair with bangs that frame her pale face. Her eyes are a yehhow orange color that seem to burn with the fire within herself. She has long fingers and long legs. Her face is rounded but not in any way chubby. She is usually never smiling.

Personality: Adalia is sometimes quiet but that doesn't mean she is shy. She will speak her mind when she thinks it is necessary. She can be very sarcastic but not really meaning to hurt anyones feelings. She cares about the world around her but she may not show it all the time. She is understanding and will be around if someone needs her.

Adalia can be fiesty. Like fire, she is flexible and free spirited and will not allow anyone to capture her spirit. She is very determined and refuses to let people's comments about her get into her mind. When she is angry, she almost seems to radiate heat from herself and it looks like fire is in her eyes. Even if she doesn't look it when she's mad, she is always in control of her ability with fire. Do not mess with her because she is someone one would not wish to reckon with.

Background: Adalia was destined to die. When she was born, she was as cold as ice and as white as marble. Her eyes refused to open and her parents were worried sick about her every day. They were afraid to hold her because of her coldness. She was like stone. They kept her wrapped in blankets trying to keep her warm. They put her by the furnace every night. One night, they heard laughter and they hurried to see what it was. To their horror, they saw the blankets on fire. The rushed to put it out but it didn't seem to stop. They watched in dismay as they thought their baby was gone forever. Much to their surprise, the fire was put out and they looked to see a bubbly little girl laughing. Her skin was completely unharmed and her eyes were finally open. They looked like fire.

When she was 6, she began her control over her powers. They wanted to start her off early because of that incident when she was a baby. Adalia was very good and quite strong. Her firey instincts were something that took many by surprise. Her hair was once black but when she was 10, during a lesson, her hair caught on fire. She did not put it out because she felt it was destined to happen. Her hair burned clear off but her hair grew back quickly only silver.

Adalia had been given a gift, the gift of fire and she was taught different techniques on how to use it. She oculd create firebealls, barriers, whips, anything one could imagine. As she grew older, her personality changed drastically from the bubbly little baby to the quiet, observing girl that she is today.
