First off, The setting. This is a good one.
The setting is this: Humanity has, for a long time now, Been in the stars, settling planets. It was a golden age for humanity, indeed; No war, no famine, no population problems! There was no need for money, Every colony was self-suffecient.. It was perfect. Then the enemy came.
With no warning, Planets dropped off the grid. Almost every ship sent to the front never returned back to report what was going on; The ship that managed to come back was destroyed when it fired its FTL drive, the massive damage to the hull ripping the ship violently into pieces, kill all the survivors; But the data was intact. Humanity had its first glimsp of the true Enemy; The Deinets. Similar in form to a snapping turtle, They had superior technology; They had wiped out almost every race they had run into, and enslaved the rest. They're ships had strange shielding, preventing anything from damaging they're hulls, and they're weapons fired chemical laser weapons that teared through even the toughest armor.
Humanity decided that they had to stop this threat. And so, The Five Fleets were commissioned; Huge fleets of human warships, fresh from the re-organized shipyards, more suited to building trade and transport ships; Each Fleet consisting of up to 30,000 ships, Firing the latest in human weapons technology; Railguns, Pulse lasers, Ship-to-Ship nuclear warheads, Beam lasers, even the occasional ram.. Humanity would not stop until every one of the Enemy was destroyed.
Unfortunetly.. They never stood a chance. Slowly, the Fleets were destroyed. In one horrific battle, Both Fleets One and Two were completely wiped out over the planet Phobes, which was thereafter destroyed. In the end, All but 4,000 human ships were destroyed; And only twenty human planets remained. In a last ditch attempt at survival, Admiral Kol, leader of the Fourth Fleet, launched every remaining ship of his at the enemy in an attempt to slow down they're advance and give the civilians a chance to run away; It was in vain. Fate had it that the remaining forces of the Fourth Fleet were destroyed, And the last planets enslaved..
However; One destroyer, The Mayflower, and a small group of twenty-seven civilian and military ships, managed to escape through a wormhole; Arriving at a small, forgotten human colony; Europa. Roughly the same size as our moon, but with the same atmosphere of our Earth, it was the last true bastion of Humanity. With its population of 3,000,000, It was the largest human colony in existance. What remained of the Fourth Fleet swore to protect this colony; Even if it meant they're deaths.
THAT! is the lore.
And now, Information on the Mayflower;
The Mayflower is a Destroyer, equip with the latest in human technology. Made in the shipyards in orbit of the planet Eurei, It is exactly 12,000 feet long, and 3,000 feet wide. Each crew member has a room that contains one bed, one small desk with optional chair, and a cryo-pod for jumps. Every member has a room exactly like this; the only exceptions being in the Medical Bay, where there are exactly 30 beds, and 15 cryo pods. The max crew of the Mayflower is 2,500 people. However, most of the crew was lost during the war at some point, leaving it with a ghost crew of only 1,317 people. It has changed captain’s 19 times in the past year, And seen over 500 engagements with The Enemy. The weaponry on this ship is something to gawk at, indeed. With four linked beam cannons, three autocannons, two pulse laser batteries, and ten ship-to-surface nuclear missile bays on the Fore, Three autocannon turrets on both starboard and port, Aswell as two in the bow, A capacity for up to 45 strike craft, a gauss railgun on the belly.. This ship is the deadliest human ship afloat.
Along with the Mayflower, five other military ships survived; Those all being of a different type.
The Voyager, a scout-class frigate, armed with a railgun, and carrying a crew of 500, plus 14 strike craft.
The Vigilant, a assault-class cruiser, with a crew of 1,273, armed with seven anti-strike craft, 900mm cannons, and twenty bombers.
The Joker, a projector-class repurposed Civilian ship, with a crew of 230, acting as medical ship currently.
The Cielo, a comm-class frigate, armed with one small railgun, ten missile pods, and latest radar technology, with a crew of 178.
Finnaly, The Sova, a Capital-class carrier, heavily damaged, with a crew of 139. Normally with a crew of almost 2,300, the Sova was hit hard during the escape; The air vented onboard, killing almost all of the crew. Four heavy pulse-laser cannons on the starboard and port, two on the bow, and one on the aft. It can carry a grand total of 300 strike craft when operating at full efficiency.
Each ship has seventeen-foot armor plating, and share the same type of living conditions as the Mayflower.
Information on Europa! :
Europa is a terran planet; meaning, it has a complex ecosystem, and supports human life. The same size as our moon, roughly. It has three cities; The capital, Eurenburg, has the highest population, with over 1,500,000 citizens. The other two are Yerin, with 150,000 citizens; Located on the beach of Aurelia’s only ocean. And Jeriph, a town situated more to the north, in the colder region.
