"Halfbreeds?" Synya asked, slightly confused. "Oh, a human, with another species?" She asked, her head tilted to the left. "Of course not, I get so little amounts of visitors I could almost care less about what they are." She paused, "in fact I haven't seen anyone who could talk to me in over two years." Her face took on a sorrowful look, and her light pink smile turned to a frown.

Synya automatically shook her head and put on a smile. She leaned against the wall and stared at the sour looking man holding the egg. "Oh! I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Synya." She smiled and waited for their responses. But before they could speak she watched the egg roll out of Ryza's hand and light up the wall. "Oh my!" She stood eyes wide as the flames licked at her walls and grew closer to her skirt.

Koro smiled a little, relieved to hear her answer. He pulled back his hood, glad to have the sogginess of it off his head. Synya, this was the first time he'd heard a name like that, she couldn't have been from a populated area, she had to work out the term halfbreed.

Then the egg rolled off, flames started to just barely climb the walls. Koro took off his cloak, still drenched, and gently pulled Synya back out of the way before putting out the flames by covering them with his cloak for a moment, then throwing it over the egg. "Ugh, troublesome thing isn't it? Some wanderers must have left it while passing by me, along with some food and water. There must be something about it that they didn't want it for" he said, seeming not t be worried at all. "Oh, right. I'm Koro" he turned his head to Synya when he said this, a light tone, still crouching next to the covered egg.

The loss of his cloak revealed the leather armour, crafted from hides of various animals. Under it he wore light tan coloured clothing, also handcrafted from various animals. All of his armour, his basic arrows, and his bow were all crafted by him himself, but the blade and enchanted arrows were elven, aquired as a gift for aiding them.

Ryza hissed as the heated egg dropped from his hand, it had burned. Now the flames were licking the walls, Ryza quickly dived away from the fire. Landing near the door, he glared at the egg. He didn't like creatures of the light, that might have been why the egg had seared him.

He still had no idea what creature was inside the egg, maybe a creature of the light, no it would've seared him before then. Maybe a phoenix, after all they were fire birds. He tried to remember how to hatch them, also how to destroy them if the need arised. He then remembered that you must destroy the egg.

"The egg must shatter for the phoenix to hatch, yes there is a phoenix in there."

He took out a small salve, wiping it on his burnt hands. The wounds dissapeared as the salve went over the burnt flesh. The cool, refreshing, enchanted salve healed most external wounds.

"Is everyone alright?"

He didn't even need to ask, the woman was pushed back by Koro. Koro was fine as well, the situation seemed to be turning out well.

Feora was suddenly frightened by the sudden darkness that washed over her egg. You do know i can see through this egg, will you please take whatever is covering it off! she said telepathically. Feora was very angry, she wanted the fire to burn the egg open, not just make it burn everything else. Then she heard what Ryza said. She suddenly got very happy, was she really going to be freed?

As you work on a way to free me, i shall send a story to your mind, do not be worried, i am sending the pictures to you.

As she was done sending it, memories seemed to flood into your mind. Feora and 4 other phoenixes, some of the last phoenixes in existence, were flying to a peace meeting. Between the phoenixes and the demons. When they got there, the demon in charge of the meeting, Shinji, demanded the phoenixes give up there powers of fire and resurrection for peace to come between them. Feora was outraged. You believe we should give up all of our defensive capabilities, so what, you can kill us easier?? She told the other phoenix's to leave, for she was going to destroy this demon. That decision was a grave mistake. Feora lept at Shinji clawing and burning him. But as she got him angrier, the demon got more powerful. Eventually Feora attempted to run. But then Shinji cast a curse on Feora, trapping her in this egg. There she would stay until somebody pure of heart touched the egg, or as the loophole allowed, shatter it with a big enough object.

Then the memory stopped flooding through your heads. Now that you know my story, you know why i must be freed, so i may exact my revenge upon Shinji.

(ahhh you're misinterpretting his powers :P and he's a rogue demon not a council one, he would gain power if feora got angrier, but not himself, you got it backwards XD Technically, Shin'ji doesn't feel his own emotion because he's constantly drawing them from others buut meh, ^^; [Plus he's not the type to imprision, unless he directly gains something from keeping them alive, then he keeps them close at all times, otherwise he just kills :P])

Koro almost stumbled back from the voice, and then the images just added to his shock. But as soon as the pheonix stated she had to exact revenge he just snickered, lifting his cloak off the egg. "If in fact you are what you have just...well...shown, you are, then you have no need to worry about shin'ji, he was destroyed not so long ago". He spoke of it as though it was nothing, though the experience, and even now just the memories, were absolutely terrifying. "Shatter? That might kill it though?" he said, uncertain of the sanity of those actions. Plus if it could hold a pheonix inside it had to be pretty tough. And what to shatter it with, a sword wouldn't do, it would slice right through. They needed a club of some sort.

He turned towards Synya, feeling a little bad for pulling her, even though he was careful as he did it, "I take it you're okay?" he said, looking directly at her as he said it.

"Yes, I'm fine." Synya paused as she replied to Koro and Ryza. "I just don't like fire." She look pointedly around the seemingly normal cabin that oddly lacked any fireplace. She smiled tentatively, but it didn't reach her eyes as she stared down at her slightly charred skirt. She numbly wandered farther away for the burning egg and her burnt wall. Once she reached the door she opened it letting the chilly, and damp air back into the cabin replacing the smoke.

Synya's shoulders rolled back as the egg sent the message. A phoenix, not egg. She shivered and her eyes rolled back slightly under her closed lids. Absentmindedly she put out a hand against the doorway, showing the scarring of an old burn that swirled on her hand. "Oh," she let out under her breath in a tone that only the best of hearing would hear.

Cat

Cat stood on the sidelines as the egg started to burn. When Koro pushed Synya to the side he let out a protective but now happy sigh. He tensed his muscles before jumping up on the table that stood in the middle of the room where he could watch without being burned. As the egg tried to send out messages Cat could be seen shaking, trying not to let out a yowl. The memories of the egg'sb burned into his brain, staying glazed on his eyes. Cat hissed before running to Synya's trembling ankles and then hiding behind her frozen legs.

Koro hovered his bow over the egg, bobbing it slightly as if to suddenly slam it down and crack the egg. The he seemed to have an afterthought and quickly pulled the bow back by his side, the abyssal black colouring of it shining slightly against the patterns of rain falling outside. "Ryza" he said softly, his tone making it obvious that he was uncertain about this and had a few questions, "What exactly happens when a person frees a pheonix, any damage or side effects hmm... letting out a wealth of power such as that can't go without consequences" he said, obviously having at least a slight understanding of magic. He actually knew quite a bit, having spent two years trying to learn it, but having no success he gave up, leaving the tomes of magic to those gifted few for what he expected to be the rest of his life.

He didn't like tinkering with things he could not control, the effects could be random, speratic, why would a pheonix be any different. When he concentrated on it he could almost feel the immense power of the great bird contained in the egg, and he turned his back on it.

(OOC: well since Buggy isnt posting, ill post.)

Feora was getting a little angry now, she was so close to being freed. Yet this halfbreed, yes that the term she heard earlier, got scared of repercussions of freeing a phoenix? So she sent out a message again. There are only very minor repercussions, like whoever frees me from this egg will have a slight mind link with me, and it will be permanent. That is all. There was a silence for a few moments until she added. This type of mind link is different though, it is when either of us get hurt, the other feels it, like if you break your arm, my wing gets broken, that sort of thing. Then you heard some mumbling that seemed to sound like And i guess ill mention that you share power and could control fire if you had the mind link. Then she realized she might of scared them from opening the egg by mentioning the mind link. feora hoped that the sharing power part might entice someone to just smash it open, as she REALLY wanted out of the egg, it was getting cramped, and she was claustrophobic, so that didn't help. If you could sense what animals were feeling, you could feel that Feora was in a fit of great fear, a fear that she would trapped in the egg forever.

"What the phoenix sais is true, and I don't want to be with the phoenix. It would probably be dangerous for me, also she wouldn't get along with me." He glared at the egg "I can tell."

However he stalked over to the egg and picked it up, putting it on the table. He tapped the shell lightly, hoping to hear something inside it. He pulled his cloak tighter, hiding his spell componenets from wandering eyes. You never know whats out there, he still didn't trust the woman either, however he respected her.

He then got up again and dragged the egg across the table, and said.

"Well.... if none of you want to open it, we can deal with it in some ways. We can stay here and keep it, take it with one of us, where it will in fact annoy you to till it is open, destroy it, if possible, finally you could let me drain it's life force and take the magic away from it."

He shrugged after finishing, then quickly added.

"I doubt you would want the last option."
