The Guilin Forests were once home to the might Guilin elves, the forest obviously named after them. They flourished, creating a tower out of the massive tree that stood in the center of the Forest. Houses build around them in a very organized fashion, spiraling out from the main tower, slowly lowering in height, their roofs were all the tops of the trees, blending in so naturally with the environment around them. The population grew well, the Guilins the barely fitting into the elven family, seeming to be a mix of several races of elves and humans, they were in fact of pure blood. Their talents varied, though every elf had the innate ability of magic, their powers often fluxing as they grew, settling as they reached their mid teens.
Like other elves, they were immortal as far as it came to age, and also, like other elves, the destruction of the world around their forest grieved them. While they had found tranquility in their forest, other elves were being overrun by the swarms of humans, wanting nothing more then complete domination. Trying to destroy everything, even themselves, to the elves, they were a terrifying race. Then came the day, as it comes for every other empire, kingdom, or whatnot, that the Guilins fell.
The Guilins had created several fortresses outside of their forest, though they were nothing like their homeland. They housed beings of every race, become fortresses of "Freedom" as the ones who occupied them spoke. They stood strong, fending off every attack from outsiders with ease, though casualties were great over the years. Most races, including other elves, did not see it fit to allow so many different beings mass together in safety.
The Guilin kingdom fell in the face of a greater demon, Shin'ji. It alone was far more then enough to overthrow the elves, regardless of what they did they could not stop it. Even the king of Guilin, proclaimed the greatest mage in the kingdom could not stop it. The city was left in ruins, what elves survived fleeing from it, desperate to find a new home. Shortly afterwards the demon vanished, moving to another area or just going to lay low for a while they didn't know.
The only structure left standing in Guilin, is a massive warpway that formed after it's destruction. No one is certain of where it comes from, made of a grey stone creating a huge open circle, a transparent, but constant blue sheet of light filling the circle. Huge runes on the side, about 5 feet squared each, written all along the massive circle, the stone curving out and back in to form the circle, no less then 50 feet into the air. The warpway is said to take the traveler where he is needed the most, though that could be claimed inaccurate, as the results of where you end up are often, unpredictable.

Present, 117 By the Desert Empires Calender, Huet
The Demon Shin'ji had been defeated just 3 days ago, the resulting explosion split Koros party.
Koro ran through the forest, where had they gone. He'd been searching for at least a day now, since we woke up from the Shock impact of that blast. How could something like this happen he though, his cloak drenched heavily in rain, flat against his back rather then blazing a trail behind him as it usually did. He had his hood up, the light sandy colour of his Cloak now a medium brown, he hated the rain. It was freezing, and he'd grown up in the Desert for a good portion of his life.
He snuck under a nearby tree for cover, he was drenched. He was at the ruins of the old kingdom now, it was still a mess. He looked around, leaning against the tree, bow leaning against his arm, hidden under his cloak. His quivers appeared something like a rucksack on his back, hidden under the strange desert fabric. He felt some rain seeping through the tree, landing directly on his head... drop... after drop... after drop. He almost wanted to scream in annoyance, this whole day had been a nuisance. He would never have had any of these problems if he didn't leave that desert. The desert was great, it was always warm, rarely raining. Though when it did rain it was just as bad as the hell he was in right now. He closed his eyes, trying to ignore everything around him. Hoping that when he opened them again he would see Kyisha looking down on him, that image alone could put him at ease. He lay there against the tree, thinking, just barely on the edge of consciousness.
I want you to build a bridge... and I want you to make it vertical
