Kristian wandered the streets in silence. Her destination? Just a place that was safe so she could rest and recover for a while. If anyone watched her movements carefully they'd be able to tell that something was wrong; and there was. Just not long ago she had been attacked by a couple of vampires. They had both been younger than she, though one older than the other. Kristian could normally tell if a vampire or another werewolf was older or younger than she by scent, though she doesn't know how it's possible except that the ability came when she was first turned. Even so, Kristian didn't have much difficulty dispatching the older of the two, considering the second sneaked in a shot to her side with a gun. Being a werewolf, the wound didn't hinder her as bad as it would a human at first, but it had been close range so the bullet went deeper.
After dispatching the older of the two, his body laying motionless on the ground in an alley somewhere, she had started fighting with the other vampire, both getting a few hits in to the other. A good swipe across the face had knocked the second vampire out cold, but not dead. Kristian left the scene right after that.
She had just recently come to New York City, still a loner, aware of the war between the werewolves and vampires. However, she didn't realize how serious it was in NYC. Apparently, the fighting was worse than anywhere else she had ever been. She didn't know if anyone had come across the two vampires yet, but as far as she knew, the one was still laying unconscious next to his dead buddy. Though it was likely that someone had already found the two vampires.
For now, Kristian just continued to wander the streets, her pace gradually slowing as blood continued to flow from her wound, the growing pain causing her to limp. The whole left side of her shirt and pants were already soaked in blood, even her hand as she held it tightly against the bullet hole to try and suppress some of the blood flow. The blood that trailed down her leg was soaked up by her black jeans, and droplets of the crimson liquid occasionally landed on the pavement. Yet with so many people around her the stains on the ground were hard to see.
Eventually, Kristian disappeared into an alley, one much farther from the alley she had fought the vampires in. She followed the length of the alley until some semblance of darkness swallowed her. Finally she stopped, leaning against one wall of the alley, her whole body tensing as another wave of pain came on. The wave first sent her to her knees, and then she turned and sat on the ground, leaning back against the wall with a groan, her hand still against her side. She sat there with her eyes closed, regulating her breathing carefully so she could get back some energy for a hunt.
