There are places in this world of ours; rifts, portals or doorways if you will, to otherworldly places. These places are normally found in manmade buildings or sites, like buildings and burial grounds but some can be anchored to a living person. Through the rifts come beings, some the spirits of the deceased, others could be what are called demonic spirits. Most spirits of the deceased are harmless but some can be just as terrifying and powerful as demons.

Some just are not ready to leave the world of the living, want playmates or have unfinished business left. Then there are those that can be a little more harmful; pranksters, protective spirits (protective of a home, children, women, ect) who will drive people away, or those of tragic deaths. Finally there are the dangerous spirits; most demons, murder victims, angry spirits and those just wicked.

There are those who seek knowledge about these spirits and rifts. Paranormal investigators, clairvoyants, psychics, religious orders (all religions are equally able to drive away a spirit, should a faithful person have the knowledge and will to do it.) and demonologists to name a few.

Alright, this rp will be about a group of person called to investigate a violent haunting. Most will be meeting for the first time but may have heard of each other. Once I get a few people, I will revile more information about the first haunting.

Appearance: six feet tall with short black hair, many an inch and a half long with a small patch of beard on his chin. He dresses in blue jeans, green tee shirt and a black leather jacket with a few Native American symbols on it.

Profession: Paranormal Investigator

History (As long or short as you want): Alex was involved with ghosts for most of his life. The site of an old massacre site of a Native American village was near where his home was built. He had encountered a few friendly spirits and a few not so friendly. He spend most of his life seeking out other ghosts.

This sounds really interesting. Is there a limit to what kinda spiritual powers one can have? Obviously I know that people can't have godly power, but I was curious about the options. ie: Telekinesis, telepathy, psychic premonitions, etc.

I like paronarmal RP's but there arnt any really intrest sparking ones that I have come acrossed but this one got me going!

Name: Katrina Olen

Sex: Female

Appearance: Katrina has a height of 5'11". Her aburn hair is shoulder lenght and curly but her straightened bangs are cut to cover her left eye. Now her eyes are odd. Her left one is a light blue that looks more of a viloet in dark lighting and her righter eye is a pale brown. Though her blue eye is color blind the other is not giving her a grey tinted vision. Her skin is a light mediterranean olive tone and her body build is more muscluar then curvy .On her right temple she has a cresent shaped scare that runs from her temple past her hair line. Katrina usally fails to wear shoes and walkes in just her socks or bare feet. Her favorite color is purple which is why most of her clothing is purple aswell. Her clothing preffrence is casual oppossed to formal or 'dressie-ish' clothing.

Profession: Raises horses and some paranormal investigations on the side.

Spiritual Powers: Empathic clairvoyant

Gear: A lucky horse shoe

History (As long or short as you want): Katrina in her early years was a Marine but she saw no future in it for her so at the ripe age of 25 she left the Marine Corps and started up a ranch. About 3 years into her life out of the Marines she was victim to a tearable accident on her ranch. Foxes had gotten into the stables late on night when her and her visting younger brother Harlem were tending to her horses. One of the foxes nipped a horse on the leg sending the horse into a rearing frenzy. Unfortunetly one of the horses flaying hooves hit Katrina on the right side of her head. Several weeks were spent in the hospital with a concussion and some memory loss. The long term damage of her accident was the color change in her left eye and causeing it to go color blind. Many commented that after that time Katrina had some of her marbles crushed.

History (As long or short as you want): Rebecca used to have vague premonitions when she was a child that bad things were about to take place and nobody would believe her. But she mentally developed the skill to a perfection over time until she could see exactly what was about to take place. This mental exercise opened up a new and recent ability to talk to ghosts which she is still developing.

Gear: Claymore(sword, not mine), pocketwatch, multitool, tinder and flint. Also has an attache case of various files, etc.
History: Charles was aiming to enrol in RMC and become an officer in the canadian military, however at the age of 18 he was hit by a molotov during a student rally-turned-riot near his old university. His chest was severely burned, and he couldn't breath as easily afterwards. He became a military historian, and is planning to release a book on the history of celtic warfare in a month, but wishes to get some on-site digging.

William “Billy” Kidd
Age: 41
Sex: Male

Appearance: Billy is a lean and fit forty-something, constantly working out, running and doing martial arts (Akido and Long-fist kung-fu). His sandy blond hair and brilliant blue eyes and evenly tanned body are indicative of his Southern California lifestyle.

Profession: Billy is a SAG member and has appeared in over a dozen movies as an extra, he also is in a long running series of commercials dealing with cell phones. Bill has written two screen plays that were picked up and optioned by MGM and Universal respectively.

Spiritual powers: Hyperaesthesia- Billy’s sight and hearing are unnaturally acute. He can hear a whispered conversation at 50 feet and with his eyesight can see the aura surrounding objects similar to Kirlian photography, both abilities require him to focus on using them.

Gear: Wears either a pair of board shorts or khaki cargo shorts, sandals and a Hawaiian shirt. He carries a digital voice recorder and a digital camera as well as a Faraday flashlight.

History: Bill was a normal guy growing up in California and living a pretty good lifestyle as an actor and writer. Surfing and doing his morning exercises before most people were even awake. One morning while surfing, he was attacked by a shark, which tore up his board and gashed his leg deeply, leaving a nasty series of scars along the right leg.
This NDE (near death experience) opened up some latent powers in him, his Hyperaesthesia. Since that day Billy has been an avid ghost hunter seeking to understand the whole phenomena of what may come after death, and why some spirits continue to linger either as residual hauntings or active entities.
He has made a name for himself in the Southern California Ghost Hunters circles by funding several trips to haunted locations in California.

At a young age Ariana had always wondered about ghosts and the like. She was very superstitious and always had her bedrooms entry points lined with salt (to protect. Note: Salt is a sign of purity in many cultures, therefore it keeps the bad ghosts out ?) and would never travel around without a little sack full.

She tried to learn more and more, before she finally got a contact. "The Kidd" as she knew him was the first person she met able to answer her questions. She began to study paranormal things, meeting more people from "The Kidd" and taking in as much information as she could she now partners up with him on many occasions to give him a little hand.

Bedlam, if you want to play a spirit anchored to a person in the team, sure.

alright, about the house and spirits

there are three spirits

The Woman: The oldest spirit in the house, she was slain by a rival for the man of the house and her body hidden the the flooring of the top floor. She hates women above any other living being and will release a victim to attack a woman.

The Man: A demonic spirit that was able to enter the house from the acts of the Woman and the Dog. He seeks to torment both the living and the dead. He is known to hold off the other spirits after making a victim helpless in a room.

and The Dog: Second oldest spirit in the house. He join the Woman shortly after her death, then his owner told him to guard the house at all costs and left. The man was arrested for the Woman's death and jailed. He never returned to the house and the Dog staved to death, still guarding it. He still waits for his master and protects the house from him, keeping out all intruders.

The house has three floors, the top one having two large bedrooms, the second floors has three smaller bedrooms, a playroom and bath. The ground floor has the kitchen, dinning room, living room, bathroom and random side room. The basement is filled to stacked boxes of random things left behind by past owners.

History (As long or short as you want): At the age of 6 she was able to see the outline and face of her great gandfather that had died a year before. Afterwards she wanted to become a paranormal investigator and with the full support of her father recieved equiment and everything she needed.

History (As long or short as you want): Mike grew up in Russia. He became a docter at 22. At the time when he went to collage, Communism was falling apart, as well as the Soviet Union. When driving one day, he accidentally ran over a man...and kept driving. In fear, he fled Russia to the U.S, where he replaced his real name, Mikial, to Mike, and has been a doctor there ever since, though he still watches his back, in fear of KGB.
