Luli strode upon the grass, wearing a light dress that went to just above her knees and had short sleeves. Her long black hair was pinned in a ponytail, and both her fans were sheathed. She wiped her brow, a slight smile covering her face, as always.
Klaus Winterman walked slowly through the dusty/sandy field, coughing slightly as some of the local medium lifted the material he was trodding upon up, in complex arches, parabolas, and other such round lines. He surveyed the area around him while ambling, his head swivelling every so often.
Vivianne Winters walked around a shriveled-up tree, her bare feet sinking into the sand, and her toes scorching from the blazing-hot grains. Her short green dress was light enough as to give her some air so she didn't pass out in the middle of the wastelands. Her hair, cropped black and short swung around her face. Something moved about twenty or so meters ahead of her. Squinting, she noticed the faint outline of a girl.
Loves sighs as she jumps and hops from tree to tree watching those below her intently, her blade ready at her call at any time as she hops, her long sandy-red hair swinging and sticking to her forehead, now hating that she wore a skirt.
Luli sat down in the shadow of a long cactus, wiping the sweat off her brow. She was breathing heavily, but all the same she had that smile on her face. "I wonder when I'll get near a civilization..." She thought.
Vivianne Winters let the excitement get the best of her, and started to jog toward the girl. Now the girl was sitting down, and Vivianne took her chance. She jogged up to her, noticing more detailed features, like her black hair and a light dress. "Hello, I'm Vivianne Winters." She introduced politely.
Lucien continued along, humming a low tune to himself, an old elven hymn. He stopped suddenly when the vibrations of a heartbeat rippled through the air. They were a good distance away, but seemed to be immobile. Patting his stomach, he changed direction, heading toward this new being with hopes of having dessert...
Loves hops to the ground were she saw a shady cacuts and sat pulling her hair from face. Sighing she pulls out a dagger and cuts the cactus above her head and breathes deeply as she feels the cool, crisp water flow down her face and shoulders. Thank God this one wasn't dry, she thinks as the last few of drips fell to face.
Luli smiled wider at the stranger that had just appeared. "Hello. I am called Luli. It is nice to know there is another living soul here other than myself." She got up and put out her hand to shake.
Vivianne Winters shook Luli's hand, grinning politely. "I know, I've been by myself for days on end...my last bit of food disappeared this morning from my bag," she motioned to the bag hanging from her shoulder, "and so I've been running on no water or food for at least 13 hours..."
Klaus Winterman frowned as he slowly discerned a group of people in the endless sands. He started to trod more briskly, and soon he found himself about six meters from them. This close, he realised that they all seemed to be female.
Luli widened her eyes in surprise. "Is that so? I have a little left in my bag, if you would like to share. Water too. I'm just hoping there is a village nearby. Here.." She said as she reached into her bag and retrieved a small loaf of bread. She handed it to Vivianne. "We should travel together. Hopefully I might be able to find a desert rabbit of the sort and we can have dinner tonight."
Vivianne Winters smiled at Luli, ripping the loaf in half and handing it back to Luli. "Don't worry, this will do for now," she nibbled the bread, savoring the taste. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a figure about six or seven meters away. She widened her eyes. "Hello?" she called out.
Loves whips her head around feeling the energy of others. Putting her dagger up she reaches in pocket digging for a rubber band as she walks to a small group of people. "Um...Hello I am Loves nice to match you all..." she says as her eyes scan over each person as of looking for or expecting something to happen but still places a smile on her face...
Luli looked in the direction of where Vivianne was looking. There seemed to be a man out there, but she couldn't be sure. He looked very far away. "Hmmm? Another lost soul out here in this wasteland?"
Vivianne Winters darts at another figure approaching, who appeared to be a girl as well. "Oh, hello. I'm Vivianne..." She didn't take her gaze off of the man.
Lucien's silver eyes widened with excitement when felt 4 more sets of heartbeats ripple through the air around him. It must have been the god's will that he have himself a feast this evening. But, being a reasonable man, he stifled his excitement and tread on, thinking of the potential meal to come. Appearing as nothing more than a man in a cloak, his face hidden in the darkness of his hood, he slowly began to make out a few figures in the distance...
Klaus Winterman could barely make out the voices of the group, but at least he could hear the vague idea of what they were speaking about. One of the females had turned to him, and after that another. He rolled his eyes slightly before remembering etiquette, and trudged up two more meters. "Greetings," he whispered, although the wastelands were so deserted it seemed to ring around, providing a somewhat chilling effect. "How art thou this fine day?"
Vivianne Winters nodded at him, smiling lightly. "I'm doing well, yourself?"
Loves walks to the group but not before spotting a weird figure just a few from her.She pulls her hair up the puts in a quickly ponytail as she looks the figure up and down "Um hello...."
Luli smiled wider at the stranger. "It's good to know that there is another soul in this barren land! I am Luli, and it is very nice to meet you!"
Vivianne Winters glances from Luli to the stranger, catching herself. "Oh, yes, I forgot. I am Vivianne Winters."
Klaus Winterman blinked slightly, not expecting this somewhat exuberant welcoming. He extends a peculiarly cold hand in reply, choosing not to speak at all, but to merely communicate with body language. He put his hood back on, which shadowed his face so much that only the strangely florescent green eyes were visible, and only if one looked closely.
Luli shook his hand vigorously. "Are you in need of food? Water? Anything else?"
Lucien counted 3 females and 1 male, all in one place. It seems they had all collected into one place and started socializing. Should he wait and see what happens with them? Or approach and make his presence known? (Klaus, I have the same affect with my hood. Only my eyes are silver.) As he debated it over, he placed a small barrier around himself to mask his presence for now...
Klaus Winterman felt the tremors reverberate through his entire body. His left eyebrow, concealed, raised up high at the surprising strength of the female. "No, I wouldn't think so...," he muttered quietly, such as that even the intended recipient might have had trouble hearing him.
Vivianne Winters coughs lightly, glancing between the two. "I am also a medic if you have any injuries...of course, I can't help dehydration or something like that for I have no food nor water with me, but I can help with physical wounds."
Luli smiled wider and giggled. Though she was about Klaus' age, she acted like a five year old. She looked at yet another person come to see them. "Ah! Yes, this is good-good-good! Another person, we will find a village very soon, I can already smell it!"
Loves sighs then smiles. "I'm Loves nice to met y'all." Knowing she hated to deal with other people she still approaches the group. "Dumbass..." she thinks to herself.
Vivianne Winters nodded at Loves, lightly smiling. "I am Vivianne Winters. Shall we get moving? I'd rather restock on supplies, food, and water at a village nearby..."
Aoria Alxervan walks slowly, the sand beneath her shoes slightly crunching. She sighs softly, as she then spots a group of people, and stands still. She shrugged her shoulders slightly, her emerald orbs looking them over curiously. Her black hair hanging far below her shoulders, her flawless skin; pale. Who were they?
Luli stood up, now calm again. She took a deep sigh, still smiling, and put her hads behind her back. "Indeed. We can not go anywhere if we just stand still!" (Tokay. That works. You're going to make Luli so hyper >.>)
Loves shrugs. "Why not. Sounds good to me."
Klaus Winterman cut in quickly, croaking in a somewhat dry voice. "There are villages nearby? Please do tell." The sound of more sand moving alerted him to the fact that to his general left, another girl was coming. He had the faint idea that this was a highly female-dominated group.
Vivianne Winters nods. "Luli mentioned of a village somewhere... this wasteland has to end somewhere."
Lucien came to a decision. Patience wasn't one of his strong points, so he decided to go down and meet the group. Keeping himself cloaked behind the barrier, he slowly made his way across the sands to the group. A 5th heartbeat rippled through the air now, and it sent chills down his spine. If all went perfect, which they rarely do, he could be devouring 5 souls this evening. The thought was almost overwhelming. He slowly made his approach, the barrier dying down now...
Aoria Alxervan thought about going to greet them, but she was never too good with others. She shrugged her shoulders once more, fighting with herself. She came to a conclusion, and decides to go greet them. "Um...Hello, I'm Aoria." She tells them as she attempts to smile. Pretty convincing, but she didn't do it often. She wondered how they would react to her being there.
Vivianne Winters nodded at the newcomer, smiling. "Hello, I'm Vivianne Winters."
Luli "I am very sure there is a village nearby. I saw carriage wheels in the sand once before the wind put them away, and then again not too long ago." She said, turning to yet another person coming up. "Aha! You see? how could there not be a village nearby when this many people meet at a barren intersection?" She said as she greeted the newcomer. "Hello! I am Luli!"
Klaus Winterman nodded vaguely at all of them in blind concurrence. He did not have the slightest idea what any of these women were thinking. "Yes... it makes sense..."
Aoria Alxervan shifted awkwardly, being greeted by everyone. They all seemed very nice. She smiled softly, trying a bit harder this time. "I haven't seen a village for a while.." She told them, which was true. She just came from the nearest village, about two days ago.
Vivianne Winters narrowed her eyes, squinting toward a figure approaching in the distance. "Another person...?" Vivianne mumbled to herself, shocked.
Lucien was a bit surprised by the woman's burst of energy. She was a lively one, which meant her soul would be ripe and filling. Giving a glance to all the others present, he bowed slightly in respect. "Lucien Lachance..." He said, returning to his standing position. Examining the group, only his silver eyes shown through the darkness of his hood...
Loves feeling a newcomer behind her, she quickly turns to see a cloaked figure. "Hello Loves..." she says bowing back
Luli noted in her head about this man. His eyes were the same as Klaus. There was something about these magic casters she did not like, but all the same, she was ecstatic on the outside.
Aoria Alxervan looks at the fellow newcomer, and shrugs slightly. Why were all these people randomly showing up? Hell, she didn't even know how she got here. She was looking for a town, different from the one she had left from. She hoped she would find something worth while. She was tired of living the same life everyday. She wanted more, something different. She felt,...Different.
Vivianne Winters nodded at Lucien, "Hello, I am Vivianne Winters." She smiled before scanning the horizon for any more wanderers.
Lucien thinking on the woman's words he raised the index finger on his right hand to get their attention. "I am sorry to inform you, but there isn't a village for days here. You are at the center of the wastelands... The closest village is maybe 2 or 3 days from here if you keep walking, non stop..."
Klaus Winterman frowned slightly as he... felt the man's presence somehow 'come' nearer them. Perhaps this one was apt in telepathy?
Either way, he found his essence, or rather the part he had chosen to present to the mentally controlling, rather dislikeable, as though someone had added a drop of nightshade within this tankard of ambrosia (even he had to admit, the feeling of having somewhat intelligent minds around him after his solitude felt reassuring somehow.)
Aoria Alxervan rolled her eyes, inconspicuously. Hell, she could have told them that, she just came from one! but she would keep her mouth shut like always. She wasn't going to ruin the good meeting between everyone.
Luli 's eyes widened, as if in surprise. She knew there was not a very close by village, and she had been surviving in this barren wasteland by catching bugs and rabbits for food for almost a week now. "Ah, I see. Well, until we reach there, we will just have to make due!" She said happily.
Loves sighs "Ain't that just great."
Aoria Alxervan could feel the dry wind brush up against her pale cheek, her Black hair seeming to flow along with it. Her Emerald eyes, glanced between people. She felt really uncomfortable, but didn't really know why. The thoughts from everyone just wouldn't shut up. Especially one girl, her thoughts were always going. She tried to block them out, closing her eyes. She stood there, waiting for something to happen.
Luli "Let us all get going then, if it is so far away! At least we know there is one nearby! I can hunt for everyone, if you don't mind meat and...stranger dishes. Come come, let us away!" She said, starting to walk north.
Vivianne Winters coughed, looking among the group. "Are we ready to depart? I have a feeling we will get nowhere close by standing here..." She followed alongside Luli as the girl took off to the north, hoping this was the correct direction.
Lucien let a grin cover his face as he examined each of them, the smell of there souls filling his being. "'Tis a sad thing really. Fortunately, I have a den not to far from here... One of the man I have in wastelands. You see, I help travelers like yourself between towns from time to time..." he said, trying to bait them with his story. "Food, water, or maybe just some rest and shade..." he added, examining another cloaked figure. His soul would be a bit bitter, but very filling.
Klaus Winterman frowned and nodded again, this time actually having an inkling of what the lot of them were doing. "Well, time is nigh...," he muttered to all, and started following behind this 'Luli' person, fervently hoping she had a drop of sanity within her blood.
Aoria Alxervan's mind no longer cluttered, she let her eyes snap open. They glowed brighter than usual for a few moments, as she heard they were about to head out. She knew what direction to head in, but she refused to say anything. She looked toward the guy in the cloak, never really got a good look at him. She didn't like the fact he was so well hidden. She got a bad feeling from him, she didn't know why... maybe she was just being weird again.
Vivianne Winters shrugged, stopping for a moment. "What do you think, Luli? We could all rest up before the 2 day walk ahead of us..."
Aoria Alxervan looked around, and decided to speak for once. She knew it would be best for everyone. "It sounds like a good idea to me." she said, her voice smooth like silk. It seemed to sooth anyone who heard it. Mostly because, she never used it much. She looked, never spoke.
Loves turn to Lucien. "Is this true..." She smiles slightly "That could be helpful."
Luli looked back at Vivianne. "Well... I guess. Are you so tired? How about everyone else?"
Vivianne Winters shrugs. "It would be a good idea to stock up nevertheless..."
Lucien nodded his head slightly, his hood moving perfectly along with his movements. Never revealing any of his 'face'. "Indeed it is. You can trust me..." he said, his mind thinking of the many ways to rip soul from flesh...
Vivianne Winters nods. "Okay, lead the way then, Lucien."
Aoria Alxervan moved her feet, and walked up next to the guy into a cloak slightly. Though she had a bad feeling from him, she could protect everyone if something where to go down. "Well, lets stop wasting time...Lets move." She said, as she gave a slight glare toward Lucien, before turning around and starting to walk.
Luli walked...no...skipped toward the northern direction once again, full of energy. This personality was a good disguise.
Klaus Winterman spared the cloaked figure a quick glance, before taking off his hood, as he assumed that the addition of it would look somewhat peculiar in the supposed den this man was bringing them to. He followed directly behind said man, wondering slightly how in the heavens could anyone move around so quickly and joyfully around such a desert.
Lucien turning slowly in the opposite direction, he began to lead the group to his den. At least one of these people would lose their soul before the end of the day. Sliding his hands into his cloak's sleeve, he resembled an animated cloak...
Loves looks Lucien up and down not trusting him. "So does this place of yours have a place to bath?"
Vivianne Winters followed Lucien, letting her feet sink to the lower layer of the cooler sand for a moment before skipping a step and attempting to keep up with Lucien.
Lucien turned his head slightly to look over his shoulder at the question. "Indeed it does..."
Aoria Alxervan walked with determination, and strive. She didn't trust anyone around her really, she was just doing this to survive. She could take any one of them on really, or so she thought anyhow. She knew something was going to happen, but she was ready. "So..." She said, trying to make conversation. She could read their minds, and she knew what Lucien was up to. She smirked softly.
Klaus Winterman nodded as he unconsciously slid to the back of the group. He found that he was suddenly feeling sleepy... so sleepy...
Luli followed anyone at a jolly pace, knowing someone was up to no good. She followed along as if dumbstruck.
Luli time SKIP! To CAVE! NOW!
Lucien paused in his tracks after walking for hours without saying a word. It seemed to be nothing more than a clear plain of sand. With a content "Mmm", Lucien turned to face the group. "Here we are..."
Klaus Winterman looked blankly around, utterly nonplussed. "Is this some sort of extremely secret den?", he inquired tactfully. "I seem to be blinded by its utter indulgence."
Vivianne Winters looked past Lucien, raising her eyebrows. "And the cave is...?"
Aoria Alxervan looked around curiously, kicking a rock near her foot. She sighed, didn't look like anything special. But hell, this was an interesting little game to her. "Nice." She muttered softly, rolling her eyes.
Loves wipes her forehead: "Good." She sighs. "Um where's all this water..."
Luli followed, smile never vanishing. "And this cave is?"
Lucien knelt down into the sand, placing his pale white palm in the sand. As soon as his flesh pressed against the first grains of sand, their fates were sealed as a pentagram spread from his hand outward. It was of his own design as to not be recognized by those adept in the arcane. He stood again, the sand behind him beginning to bulge. With a great force, rock burst forth from the sand, revealing the cave entrance. The pentagram that covered the area faded away into the sand as Lucien turned, making his way down the steps...
Klaus Winterman stifles a yawn behind his mouth as he waits for the spectacular conjuration of the cave. Finally, he looks again. "I see no beddings--", he started, his expression quizzical, until finally---
"What in the Goddess?!"
Vivianne Winters widens her eyes, beginning down the steps. "Nice..."
Lucien slowly made his way down the seemingly endless, dimly lit stairwell, still not saying a word. The ripples of heartbeats echoed on the cave walls, making the feeling amplified. Lucien had reason to turn and start the massacre, but he stifled himself once again.
Vivianne Winters barely jogged to be able to keep up to Lucien. She widened her eyes at the length of the cave and the amount of work put into it...
Klaus Winterman followed the staircase with a somewhat heavy mind, finding the horribly echoing noises resonating in the halls quite unsettling. "So," he inquired eloquently, "how far do thy stairs go?"
Luli followed down the stairs, her hand reaching slowly for her razor fan. She was just a hair away from Klaus.
Lucien thought to say into the very abyss of hell, but remained quiet. The opening to the cave that was so far away closed behind them, and for awhile, the darkness seemed to thicken. After a little while longer of walking, the cave itself was in sight...
Klaus Winterman shivered slightly, a feeling not at all vanquished by the slow realisation that the one perpetually overdosed upon Prozac was just a hair's breadth from him. He could feel her breath.
Vivianne Winters almost tripped once or twice, but attempted to keep a steady pace. She opened her mouth to say a sarcastic remark, but shut it back again. Now wasn't the time to be facetious.
Luli wanted to take off her slippers, for they were bothering her. She decided against it as she used her fan to...fan herself. She made sure not to make contact with the tip, which could cut upon toughing it. She sighed heavily.
Lucien finally stepped into the cave itself, though it were pitch black. With a wave of his hand, all the candles within lit up brightly. The candles lit up the main chamber, the bedrooms, the corridors, everything. The cave wall itself was made of a fine black marble, though everything else was pretty much hardwood...
Vivianne Winters stepped in after Lucien, her mouth a gape. "Wow," she said breathlessly, stepping a few feet forward.
Luli stepped into the wide cave. "Woooooooooooow! She exclaimed. In truth, she was not as amazed as she let out. The chamber smelled like death.
Klaus Winterman frowned as he followed the hooded man into this fabled cave. He had to cover his eyes from the next spectacle; all the lights immediately turned on, and he was forced to re-don his hood in order to see properly without looking utterly ridiculous. Once he had it on, he could properly marvel at the cave's interior.
And marvel he did.
His jaw dropped slack, and he simply froze stiff as his eyes comically panned the general area. "... G-g-g," he stammered oh-so-eloquently, but to no effect; he could make no comprehensible word, much less a coherent sentence.
Lucien turned on his heels to face the group, wanting to see their faces. It were amusing to see, though, if they were like this for a lesser den, what would they do when they saw his main den? The thought forced a chuckle out of him, which he hid under his breath the best he could. In the instant, 12 skeletons, dressed in black silk robes, spawned from purples flames behind him. In unison, they all knelt down and called out "My Lord! You have returned. Please, ask anything of us and it will be. We are your servants."
Klaus Winterman blinked as he heard the sound of dry bones moving behind him. He swivelled around and found that, not one, not two, not three, and certainly not four, but twelve skeletons were kneeling down and incanting random praises to their apparent host. His left brow rose as he watched them grovel upon the ground. "What manner of necromancy is this?", Klaus interrogated, with a rare edge to his voice.
