I am the air that fills your lungs, tousles your tresses, whispers in your ear and caresses your cheek. Vulcanus, my warrior, is my only weakness. I am the water that quenches your thirst, cleanses your body, nourishes the earth and gives beauty to the land. Gnomus, my friend, is my only weakness. I sleep where I am most comfortable, where my dear Vulcanus cannot trek, and my only companion is Gnomus' black sand. Here, I will wait until the death god reawakens.
I am the fire that keeps you warm, gives you light, destroys your enemies, and dances in your eyes. Undina, my bride, is my only weakness. I sleep where I am most comfortable, where the heat is unbearable to all creatures. My slumber will not be disturbed until the death god reawakens.
I am the earth that allows you to breathe, shelters you from outside woes, soothes your wild soul and protects the other elements. Sylvestris, my comrade, is my only weakness. The Twins

We witnessed the Four Elemental Seals sacrifice their life in order to stop Khloros, harbinger of destruction to our plane, by using their bodies as a seal against his power. We are the keepers of their souls, and we guard over the four seals in a place where we are most comfortable - a place unknown to any living creature. Here, will we wait until the death god reawakens.

September 15, 2012. International Date Line. 00:00:00.
At approximately 24:59:59, the sky over the waters of the Pacific Ocean were crystal clear. The moon hung in the sky, basking the calm waters with its ethereal glow. The heavens were dusted with sparkling stars, giving the area a sense of peacefulness.
At 00:00:00, a cloud began to form in the cloud. It was darker than obsidian, and began to billow out in all directions, inking out the moon and the stars as it expanded.
At 00:34:00, the black cloud began to glow brightly on the edges. Soon, the cloud was marbled with deep red, as if the cloud were a heated coal.
At 01:28:00, it began to rain fire over the ocean.
The Longest Day
The day is September 15, 2012. At midnight, a strange, ominous cloud forms over the Pacific Ocean. It begins to glow bright red, as if it's on fire, and expands across the world. Fire rains over the ocean and begins to spread towards land in all directions. This is the entrance of Khloros, the Collector of Worlds.
Khloros' main objective is to destroy the world and its inhabitants in order to add it to his collection. He had tried once before, but failed due to the interjection of the Four Elemental Seals. Using their lives and their powers, they were able to foil Khloros' plans to collect Earth and sealed him away from our world. The seal has weathered away with time, though, and now Khloros is trying once again to claim the Earth as his own.
What Khloros doesn't know is that the power of the Four Elemental Seals has not completely deteriorated. Throughout the flows of time, the power to control earth, water, fire, and air have been passed on from generation to generation until today. Now, twelve people share the powers of the elements, and only these twelve people can reactivate the seals that kept Khloros at bay for thousands of years. The catch is that they only have one day.
The seals of Fire, Water, Earth, and Air are scattered across the globe. Fire to the Southwest, Water to the Northwest, Earth to the Southeast, and Air to the Northeast. The fifth seal, unknown to even Khloros himself, rests somewhere deep within the earth, in a realm unknown to any living creature - for now. At midnight, the twelve humans gifted with the power of the elements - and the twins granted the power of life and death - will have a vision. Who will accept their mission to partake on the journey to save the earth, and who will deny it?
September 15 will be the longest day of their lives.
Rules
All right guys, I need twelve people to get this RP started. I will be accepting four for each element. Note that these people should come from all over the world, as this RP will be taking place on the four different hemispheres. So, please, only one elemental being to each continent - as in, only one pyrokinetic to the Southwestern Hemisphere, one to the Northeastern Hemisphere, etc.
I'm pretty vigorous when it comes to accepting applications, so try your best! I hope that I get enough people to start soon, but if you apply, I will be going through your posts to make sure that you'll be making a worthy contribution to this RP. Sorry if that sounds a little mean! Other basic rules include:
- Novel-esque writing, please. No one liners, and try and make it interesting!
- Of course, no God-moding! The characters are going to be ordinary human beings. Some of them shouldn't even know they possess elemental powers!
- If you apply, make sure you can keep up. If everything goes according to plan, this should be a busy thread!
- Please keep track of the OOC, since I will be posting updates and news that are vital to this RP.
- Cursing is allowed, but don't over-do it.
- Romance is allowed, but like I said with the cursing, don't over-do it (as in get down and freaky during the RP).

The Longest Day will take course over one day, starting from midnight on September 15, 2012 and ending at midnight on September 13, 2008. Don't worry, I have some plans that will make the RP go by smoother if that seems too short of a time span. Our characters are supposed to be saving the world after all. Anything pertaining to the time sequence of the RP will be posted here in the OOC thread, so please remember to constantly check for any updates!

TIPS: In order to get brownie points, try and flesh out your character as much as possible. I will be looking for detail in the biography section. Also, teenage characters will be examined thoroughly, since saving the world from a demon hell-bent on destroying it is not best left up to hormonal teenagers.
ALSO: Since I'm pretty sure it's going to be a tad difficult running an RP like this by myself, I am looking for someone to co-run this thread with me. If you decide to apply for this, then your character will be playing the embodiment of Nex, the element of death. You will have to PM me with an inquiry on the subject first, though. Sorry to nitpick!
