Hello, I am hoping to entice the creativity of this community to come together to reshape and rebuild the Mulitverse forum into what it should be. The mutliverse is not a place where one thread rp's should take place, there is the fantasy section and the sci-fi sections for single genre role-plays if you are strictly limiting your rp's to those genres and disallowing the other to participate equally.
The mulitverse is much more than simply "Tavern A" or "Café B", these are merely meeting locations, a jump off point for role-playing, yet nothing comes from these meeting places. People pop in, chat idly and the threads slowly die because there is nothing to propel the interaction forward, no greater "world" to venture forth into.
I would like to see this highly imaginative community rebuild the Multiverse into what it was when; the original G-Wing City and New Terra, the Trantor fleets and the Red Technocracy, existed along side the mystical planet Kelante and its protective magical hierarchy. When these threads took place, you could travel from one place to the other and NOT make a new character because they existed together. Granted not all ideas succeeded, but they all helped to create a persistent world where a character could move from thread to thread to participate in the on goings of that envisioned universe.
There was a slight revival when the Planet HUB came into existence, there was threat of war that drew in various planets as locations, and civilizations where intrigue and political events took place, where magic and technology drew lines in the murky void to fight for or against the HUB.
I know that there are a few people who want to role-play more than single thread role-plays, that want to experience everything that their character can from the hoary mist covered mountains with brooding castles and arcane magics to vast stellar fields with massive fleets of ships hashing it out over rare minerals or trade routes. Where one character can travel between them equally to create truly wonderful role-plays.
This OOC can be used as a place for ideas and discussion to create a more persistent world with in the multiverse. Lets build Worlds we can all share.
The writer who cares more about words than about characters, action, setting, atmosphere is unlikely to create a vivid and continuous dream; he gets in his own way too much; in his poetic drunkenness, he can't tell the cart- and its cargo- from the horse.

The Premier of the Red Technocracy is here...!
Assuming the multiverse is resurrected to its former glory, you'll see me there.

I'm willing to help jump into reforming the Multiverse, the main reason I don't take part in it currently is because of its current state, as such I'm willing to donate and help form a few ideas to give it a bit more oomph and quality about it.

This is what I am hoping for. We need to establish a few locations to begin with. Locations that we can propel a story forward from. I know the Red Technocracy has signed on, I am going to put my Xindhi civilization in to play as well.
That gives us a small base to build from. I think maybe two or three linked locations with a nexus event can start the role-play. Anyone can participate. Characters and locations, planets and civilizations.
Please toss in an idea or a dozen.
I think the Xindhi will have an outpost where they can be met by others in the deeps of space. That could be a starting point for one interaction.
I also think that those who are doing this, when we do set up locations or events we should add New Era to it. SO that those seeking to role-play can quickly find them.
So my first post will be Titled: Al-Hazred (New Era Location)

I'm considering this, and I can't remember where the idea is from but simply. Lets say the Multiverse is ruled by a council of sorts (not neccisarily so, just an example.) and they might designate worlds for travel... say a world that is still evolving, might be listed as a no go area to avoid interference. Say its set in the medieval period, seems to break away from natural physics, ergo magic exists there. A few creatures exist there that are akin to extinct creatures elsewhere, there is natural and precious materials there. So what would happen if this medieval, magical and generally whimsical fantasy world was invaded by say, a mega corporation that was intent on plundering it of its biological and geographic riches? :>
What might happen there, the company is driven off, technology is left behind which filters to the inhabitants there, they jump ahead, allows new characters there to attain travel to the other worlds of the multiverse, means technologically advanced people can descend into the fantasy setting and so forth.

Speaking of magic...
I use an SI unit called a 'Mazhinger' to measure the magical radiation emitted by any magical/supernatural abilities, and their usage.
For example, creating a fireball would be an act in the Kilomazhingers, and magical begins, by their very nature, rank in the Petramazhingers, and finally, gods, also by their nature, rank in the Yottamazhingers.
Also, I dislike the idea of a ruling council. To me, something like that seems just... too arbitrary. It forces the plot to conform to some external authority, instead of being created solely by the players.

Mhm, amusing idea Kronos, on the Council it was merely an example of such a thing, the above idea isn't to be taken as an actual idea but as an example for crossover roleplay, which neccisarily the multiverse is about in some ways.

I'd be very willing to make a World that was the fantasy area with arcane magic and all that Jazz, i always wanted to mix magic, dragons, and Futuristic settings all into one. Sounds like a great deal of fun and joy to me ^^

Hm. Would you mind if I made my own place? As in, with a differing civilisation and all that...

Wow, can I make a race of ultra pious/zealot human super soldiers (Think brotherhood of Steel, Paladins of any game and Space Marines mixed) that fight the Red Technocrats empire by attacked heavily entrenched wolrds (or terrorities if its only earth) in there pursuit to create an universe (or Earth) spanning empire and using the teaching of there Creator/God?
Yea, I like to be the one that everyone targets and yes I do have a thing for super soldier space marines....

Yes of course that is what the Multiverse is about. However I think you should talk to Kronos about warfare so that he is on board with it. After all we are all collaborating on this.
As for Xindhi that anyone can utilize, within reason of course, are Escort General Dalran and Lord Counsel Synjyn Drake, both of whom are currently on Al-Hazred. They are loyal to the Dreaming Queen and serve Lady Drake.
Has'ja is the only official that I have named specifically so feel free to create Senators among the Hoop-kah to develop intrigue and treachery. Have fun everyone I am looking forward to interacting with you all.

Master Of Light, you're in. Have fun with the mechanized infantry (mine, that is.).
Unlike the Xindhi, I'm much less liberal with who can use my characters, and my nation, ect. If you were to ever enter into a combat situation, it's strictly open style RP. You NPC their actions to a small extent in diplomatic settings, for minor things that just add flavor to a post.

Oh I am not that liberal, I only allowed those two to be used a point of general contact people in Caitsith, for anything else I run the Xindhi.
For the limits, everything is pretty much open, there is no one aspect of power greater than another, everything is on an equal footing. There are no unbeatable races, powers, technologies. There however are greater strategies.

How does a mecha mercenaries with honor unit, (alla, the Eridani Light horse of BattleTech) sound?
I'm new here, but I have lots of RP under my belt. I'm pretty sure I could start such a group.
It'd have a couple worlds it "rules" not by name but by de facto force of arms.
I've got ideas for names but not until I check for interest.

Works for me. I am looking to get the project going. I think a new challenge for the mighty forces of the Red Technocracy will be interesting. After all they are the defacto technological power.

The Caliphate will return from its prolonged absence, very sorry about that, possibly I might create a new nation.
Remember, the Technocracy may have technology, but the Caliphate and D'jinn have devotion.
